My weight this morning was 127. I would feel better losing 4-5 lbs. As I age, my back is shrinking (lost 2 inches) but the front isn't (Buddha belly). I hate exercise in all forms.

Carole, nope, happily married, and have lived in this house since 1986. I do have 2 sons and 1 daughter. Maybe you have me confused with someone else?

Weigh in this morning - lost 2.6 this past week, down to 156.2. My goal is 140. Really enjoy this weight watcher way of eating, have more energy, feel less bloated. Next two weeks will be a challenge, we are heading off to visit 2 of our kids and grandkids in the DC area, baby shower, birthday celebrations, easter bunny candy, and far too much socializing. Luckily we walk a lot when we are there, but I have a feeling that by the time the Wednesday after next rolls around, I'll be grateful not to have gained all I have lost back! Will try to keep up with the thread while I'm away, but if not then I will see you all after Easter.

Wednesday Weight- 126. I have a petite frame and I'm short, so looking to be under 120. Like 119.5. The free tummy tuck with the DIEP was the only benefit of the BC dx. Oh, and meeting lots of new friends on bc.org!! Have a happy healthy week.

Hi, ladies. I have been on this thread in the past but its been a long while. My number one objective is to eat healthy and exercise, but I've been trying to lose at least the 8 pounds I've crept up over the last 3 or 4 years. I lost 13 pounds after diagnosis to get my weight down from the very top of a normal BMI, kept it steady for a bit, upped my exercise and gained 2 pounds one year, three the next, etc. I hoped it was muscle, but when I bought my new body fat scale, the fat % kind of alarmed me.

I started a new health journal. I tried starting in February but was so busy at work I ended up filling out 2 days out of the whole month. LOL - so maybe I shouldn't try to be SO detailed. I started over and have been tracking since March 4 . I track my food, exercise, water, sleep, physical health, weight, fat%, muscle %. So far I have lost just 1.6 pounds, but have lost 3% fat and muscle % up 1.5%, so that makes it sound like more progress.

I'm late to Wednesday weigh in. This morning I was 149. If anyone is tracking :-) this does not mean I lost weight since my last post. One is the doctor's scale and the other is mine. I think I will never move from this weight. I am stuck, hence trying to increase the accountability.

I am up more than 10 pounds since spring last year. I knew it was too good to last having come about 5 pounds away from my college weight after years of trying to get there. So I am ready to start posting here again.

My Saturday weigh - in. 141.25. Down from 142.5 last week, yessss! I’ve lost over 30lbs from my 173lbs high point, I’m actually really excited that I’m going to be under 140lbs soon now. It gets a lot harder to lose weight the more I lose. The last 5 lbs has taken me six months or so, I’ve been up and down, and overall I feel so much better and healthier, and happier, it makes the effort worthwhile. Posting here has helped me to stay motivated this week.

The things that seem to have worked best for my motivation are:

Don’t even think about calling it a diet, instead think for the long term and work out how to permanently CHANGE YOUR HABITS one at a time. The plan is very simple (1) reduce or stop bad habits like eating cake and doughnuts and pastries every day, which I used to do and (2) increase or start good habits like going for a walk or a swim every day, even if only 10 minutes: all makes a difference over the long term.

Great to see so many posts, keep it up sisters, we can do this! I’m just off to walk my dog, then I’m planning to cycle to the gym!

Love and light to youall. XX

    Down 0.4 lbs.

Not great but not too bad considering I didn’t feel like cooking after my brain MRI yesterday and DH and I went out for Chinese buffet.

    Better number next week 🙂

Illimae, hope the MRI results are good.

Down 2 lbs. I'm off from work for the week so eating well and exercising more.

well, phooey. 127 lbs, same as last Wednesday. I told you I was very stable at that weight. This is after upping my mileage, cutting sugar back, cutting alcohol back. I am feeling stronger, though, from the additional miles and maybe that will pay off this coming week....

Down 1.5. Probably more due to salt intake than being good.

    No change.

No change today. Yesterday was 1 lb down!

Every holiday season presents challenges but Easter is particularly full of dark chocolate temptation. Gold brick and Heavenly Hash "eggs" made by Elmer's since 1855. Elmer's is a Louisiana candy company.

    Excuses, excuses.

    Happy Birthday, rdeesides!

I was daydreaming/lusting over some Easter Candy a couple of days ago, but I think I got over it. My husband was recently diagnosed with diabetes, and my 21 year old son has never really cared for candy, so its only me that will be the temptation. Carole, if we had a special source and tradition like you mention, I think I'd have one of each and move on. Just compensate elsewhere.

Since I was late to the party last week, I am reporting in one week number rather than Wednesday. I lost .8 lbs. I'll take it.

Sunday weigh in this week. I’m 140lbs today, so I lost 1.25lbs this week. I’m ecstatic as that’s the lowest weight I’ve been for years!

Bareclaws, Falconer, I have also learned to recognise true hunger feelings recently. I had forgotten what hunger felt like, but now I try not to eat until I really feel the hunger in my stomach, not just in my head. It makes a big difference, and I often skip a meal these days, or go to bed feeling a bit hungry and looking forward to breakfast time.

I think hunger is a really good feeling because it reminds me that I am not eating as much as I used to, and, when I do eat, I enjoy and appreciate every bite.

I’m on holiday this Easter week so hoping to maintain this weight if I possibly can, but realistically I may slip a bi. Will report back next week. Keep posting ladies it’s very motivational to hear how everyone is doing.

Hope you had a great birthday rdeesides.

Everyday is Wednesday. Hahaha. Definitely going in the wrong direction after Easter Sunday. I am done with chocolate until further notice. Hope to join the losers soon.

Been away for 10 days - started out good, packed our lunches and good snacks for the road trip, but by the second day we just gave up and ate our way through Washington DC. I'm surprised I have not turned into a jelly bean, no self control with those! So I'm not expecting any loss this Wednesday, and hoping I have not gained everything back. We got home last night, so back on track today, fridge stocked with healthy options. While away we got ourselves two large bowls at IKEA, so we can have monster salads.

No change from last week but 1 kilo down from Sunday. Gotta make this a trend.

Well, I’m up 1.9 lbs. I suspect stress and constipation mostly. Last weeks brain MRI wasn’t good and testing continues. Maybe next week.

Ilimae, I'm sorry to hear that the MRI results weren't good. Holding you in the light, beautiful.

I'm also up 2,back where I started when I posted the first week. My DH made mac and cheese with ham and I ate about forty delicious pounds of it. Needed comfort food this week.

TwoHobbies, HeidiHill, Illimae, Thank you for the birthday wishes!

Illimae, I’m sorry to hear about your poor MRI. Hugs. A little stress eating is understandable

I’m still 149. Haha. I will never get to 140. I eat very healthy one day then slip slightly and on an on so that I am maintaining but never losing. I do think maintaining is a small victory but I really want to lose these last 10 pounds. (I have lost 40 pounds since diagnosis though!).

Scotbird, I think letting yourself be hungry and learning what that feeling is is a good thing. I am working on that too.

Illimae, hope the further testing is more positive than the MRI. You are excused from apologizing for stress eating. Hugs.

I went back to WW on Monday, switching from online to full-fledged. Enjoyed the meeting, as in the past. I'm a WW lifer. After all the carbs on Easter Sunday, I almost lived in the bathroom all day Monday and was down 4.5 lbs of fluid by Tuesday morning.

Two weeks ago I posted 176 and was 171.5 this morning. I am very hopeful that I'll get down to my goal weight of 160 before the three months paid membership is up. If so, I can attend meetings free of charge. WW membership must be down because the charge for 3 months was $77, when it is normally $40 something a month.

Pat, I had you confused with Patoo, who used to participate in this discussion forum.

Healthy eating for all of us until the next weigh in.

Okay, okay; this is it. I'm jumping back in. I have 9 'vacation pounds' I need to lose.......starting right now!!!!!

  • wren44
    wren44 Member Posts: 7,928

Up 1.5. I'm blaming the chips I had with Cuban food for lunch yesterday. Way too much salt for me.

Illimae, Hope further testing shows the MRI was being over zealous. Stress eating is permitted, possibly even required.

Illimae, sorry to hear about your MRI results and resulting stress. Hugs.

I am happy and surprised to report a .2 lb weight loss (don't forget the decimal point!). With all I ate on vacation, I could not believe it. Back on track with Weight Watchers, I am down to 156, with 140 my goal. Another challenging week ahead with several "events", but if I am mostly good I might maintain for next week.
