Lost 3 pounds second week in a row but probably more water weight than anything.. But, hey, I'll take it.

Next weigh in will tell if anything real is happening.

Hi everyone, can i join the club? Before starting Tamoxifen i was 9 stone 5 my height is 5 ft 6. I'm now 10 stone and don't understand why. I work out 1 hr 30 mins every day or every other. I eat salad, fish and veggie's. no sweets or carbs.

Never had a problem before Tamoxifen. Thinking of stopping it because of bad SE and weight gain. So unhappy with this weight gain i feel like crying.

Up to 162.5.  5 lbs up over my lowest weight since going on WW last Oct.  A trip to GA to attend a niece's college graduation did me in.  Lots of unhealthy (mostly enjoyable!) eating.

Mindless eating is the culprit.  The food is there.  Put food in mouth.

About the same as last week.  Keep hovering around the same 1-2 lbs.

ali68, Welcome.  This is a great support thread.  Don't cry (well, okay, go ahead if you want!).  It is your decision but please think and consider all alternatives before stopping the tamox.  As has been said many times SE's are a lot easier to treat than a recurrence.  Perhaps you can try a different AI or research to see if there are ways to alleviate the SE's?   Perhaps on the Tamox thread or in the alternative thread you can get info to help.   Regarding your weight,  your overall health is what is most important, not your weight.  Love yourself.  Sending cyberhugs over and if you need one just reach out and pluck one out of the air.

Also sending a hug to Ali. All the treatments are hard, hard, hard on the body & it takes time for everything to adjust. Keep working out, eating right and give yourself some time.

Alas, I gained a pound. Could it be the Retirement Tea followed by the Retirement Dinner I went to Tuesday night??? Perhaps....that's my excuse anyway!

(((Hugs, Ali68))). It is tough. You could be gaining muscle while losing fat. So hang on.

Stuck scale here. Still thankful as that's despite all the chocolates for Mother's Day.

Thanks ladies, my problem is I want to be the same person, weight, do all the things before cancer. My body isn't ready for what I did before cancer so I need to chill out and go with the flow. I know it takes time but I want it now ( hehe)

Hi! Can a Lifetime WW member join the group? I re-joined WW on 1/5/12 at 243.60 lbs. (On 1/1/12 I stepped on my medical scale which read 248.60, which I kind of consider my "true" starting weight (due to date recorded ;)

On 2/14/13 I weighed in at 158.60 lbs. :) -- which was 4 days before I self-diagnosed my BC. In the interim since mid-February, I have gained 9-10 lbs of it back: attributed to lots of testing, stressing out with angst over waiting for results, etc.  NO more! Last Saturday was my first "post-BMX-op" weigh-in, whereby I lost .20 lbs. Last night, I returned back to my "usual" Thursday night WW meeting, and lost 5.6 (more lbs.) - since last Saturday!

I must confess: even though I did a 3-mile walk (AHA Heart Walk) last Saturday, it was tracking, drinking water, and slowly increasing my activities (housework etc) - PLUS reading research that states having BMI above 25 puts a BC survivor at HIGHER risk for recurrance of BC! :O -- and that's ALL the "ammo" I needed! I'm 163.80 - about 5 lbs. more and I'll be at my "pre-BC" weight.

    WE CAN DO THIS!! :)

    Turquoise,

I'm a new member of this group but I think everyone is welcome.

You've already lost a tremendous amount of weight. Congratulations!

I have 28 pounds to go to reach my BMI. I gave up most sweets and exercised a lot to get the 10 pounds I've lost in past two weeks. I hoping to stay accountable and get and give support on this thread.

    Hugs,

    Peggy

hi ladies and welcome ali and turquoise.

Missed Weds weigh in, oops, but this morning was up from last week.

Set a goal of losing 6 lb in 6 weeks for a girls weekend get-together in July.

That would bring me back into the 160's...... Innocent

Hi, I would love to join your group! From the time I was diagnosed  until today (lump then mx surgery in meantime) I have gained 5 lbs.  Mainly because I am totally into "comfort" food and have needed a lot of comforting lately.  I have wrapped myself in pasta lately.  So, here I am.  I will be having chemo in 4 weeks, so I figure I best get on ball of healthy eating.  So, I'm game!

Up 200. I'm getting tired of this see-saw. OK, I will have to exercise more as I'd hate to give up sweets. I bought skinny jeans the other day that will be perfect after I lose 1-2 kilos and I'm hunting for a new bathing suit as well.

I agree with turquoise, if we want this, we can do this!

Lost 3lbs by not having booze, sweets, and eating salad & fish. Been walking more- I can do this.

Gained 2 pounds I think by putting too much fruit in my juicer green (kale) smoothie. Will modify and see if that does the trick next week.

I sort of knew they were the culprit since I have been craving them at night the way I do cookies, brownies, anything sweet!

See y a next week. May we all make progress toward our good BMI.

Down two, but I don't know why! Lol.

All those weeks of crazy cycling and eating my hmemade protein bars with no results, but the week I lose? Vacation to mom's with no biking (but some walking), my first Thai food, fish & chips, strawberry shortcake, Nutella, travel snacks, ....

I thnk I'll go back for a few more weeks!!!!

    ;-)

    (Shoot. Now I'm hungry.)

Hello ladies.  I was on here a while back and got too busy to keep up with postings and not doing very well on getting the weight off and getting pretty frustrated.  I am "back in the saddle" so to speak and feel like I have finally found a way to get this weight off.  I started my weigh in Sunday but I weighed today so that I could get on the same schedule as the rest of you.  I have lost 3.6 pounds.  I'm sure that is mostly water but it is down and I will take it! Smile

    Charlotte here, checking in.

I've been away from the Wednesday group for a while and I've managed to lose another 3 whopping pounds! SLOW, but hey, down is down. I am up to 49 pounds lost and motivated to lose the remaining 50 pounds I have to go in a more timely manner!

News flash: I've discovered that not simply eating less, but eating "beans and greens" -tons of veggies, with a little poultry, fish, or meat as a condiment and not too much grains seems to do the trick with my body. Of course, hard to do some weeks with holidays and eating with others. Some days I feel like a rabbit munching away. I kept eating less and less, following a healthy Weight Watchers online diet, but was stuck at the same weight! Then I decided to try changing WHAT I ate and that seems to make a big difference with me. Kind of encouraging!

Good check up with oncologist yesterday, but she wants me to get the remaining weight off (as do I). Still have lung problems as a result of radiation scarring and really bad problems with my feet from chemo, but I choose to focus on the fact that I am alive and deal with the side effects as they come. I am super motivated by the recurrance rates being higher for overweight women to shed the extra pounds.

Welcome to all the new gals! Nice to have the company in the fight.

    Wren,

Hope you start feeling better soon! I've felt good all week, ate healthy and exercised my butt off and you still came out better than I did--I gained two pounds.

Reading others' posts here there seems to be little rhyme or reason to losing and a gaining a pound here and there!

See you here next week and I hope you will be feeling good by then.

    Hugs,

    Peggy

Hi all, was up 1.5 this week.  Oh well, could be worse.  I didn't really do anything to have a loss so not surprised.  I've just moved to a new area and mapped out a 2 K walking route that I'm bound and determined to do every weekday.

Anyone who wants exercise buddies: check out the Lets Post Our Daily Exercise thread. All shapes, sizes, exercise levels are welcome!

I am exercising but eating like crazy....not weighing until next week, after the end-of-the-school-year celebrating is over!

hi all, welcome Cyndie and welcome back cowgal and Charlotte!

Missed checking in yesterday but am down 2 lbs since last week.  Smile

Six-month onc app't Tues, all is well.  2 more years of tamox then an AI.

    BMI is 27.51 kg/m2.  What's the ideal - under 25?  20?
