forgot to check in yesterday, but the news is not good - up 2.5 to 161. It was my birthday weekend, so lots of eating out, two cakes, chocolates from hubby (saboteur!), and celebratory cocktails, so the gain isn't surprising. Back on track, hope to Lose the 2.5 by next Wednesday!

I also forgot to check in yesterday. Down another pound to 154.5. Visited my kids for Canadian Thanksgiving, tried to eat healthy despite two turkey dinners, perogies, cabbage rolls, crepes filled with cottage cheese, luscious desserts, you name it. Fully expected the scale to be up, but pleasantly surprised. Drank lots of water, and did lots of walking in shopping malls hunting for a wedding suit for my son. It worked!

Pat, Happy birthday. October is birthday month in my family and I did worse than you. I was up 2.9 lbs. I can only hope some of that is retained water as I had a lot of chips and queso at the restaurant. One more birthday meal this week so wish me luck for next weigh in.

Late check in but better late... especially when you are down .6 (183.8)

I carefully avoided the scale just before my colonoscopy, because whatever it said, it would look like I had gained a ton by next Wednesday! Anyway the procedure went well, no problems in my colon.

Need to confess--I've been stress eating over several things, the main one being a disagreement with my PS that I now after two weeks have straightened out.

My eating plan these two weeks I would call the nutritionist's nightmare. Irregular exercise pattern. Today is visiting with hyperactive grandson but tomorrow I'm going to get back on track. Gained 4 pounds over these two weeks and the lousy things I ate (nutritionally) weren't even high quality (e,g., think of Twinkies). I guess it's two steps forward and two steps back for me.

I'm committing myself to lose the weight I've regained and more--starting today some and then full speed to healthy eating and regular exercise. Glad you all are here!

I lost another 2 pounds (I have to weigh on Mondays, its my OCD) So I have lost 20 but have about 55 more to go. Almost 1/3 of the way there though.

Congratulations, Warrior50. There is something nice about a round number like 20! The number is round and you are less round. Way to go!

Down a pound to 160. Still working off my birthday weekend weight gain, but it's going in the right direction. But 7 more to go for the 10 by Christmas challenge. Which now is looking like more of a challenge the closer it gets!

I weighed in at 123.1 lbs this morning, which is up 0.7 from what I weighed on DD's scale last week and up 0.4 from what I weighed on my own scale two weeks ago. Could have been worse. I did record my WW points while I was gone, even though I knew I was going over, so at least I was being honest with myself.

Time to get back on track now! Just 1.1 lbs away from the "lose 10 lbs by Christmas" goal!

Up 1.5 but had revision surgery yesterday so am guessing it's all the fluid. Otherwise they must havevbeen feeding me the whole time I was asleep!! Even I can't gain that much in 1 day!

Down another pound this week. My short term goal of 150 lbs is three and a half pounds away. Nothing like an upcoming wedding to inspire you - lol. It is 5 weeks away, so will just do it. No excuses.

Same as last week. Eating and drinking less of the bad stuff.

Hi all, I've been gone for a few weeks as I've been stressing over scans, scan results etc. No liver mets, that's the good news, but new cancer in more vertebrae. Off to radiation oncology again to see if there is something they can do for the pain. Through all this, I've eaten like a crazy person, and gained 5 pounds since I last posted. Up to 163.5 I feel horrible, bloated and sick. I need your encouragement and ideas. I want to get back to a good frame of mind and i feel like i've just come out of a dark place and stumbling around if you know what I mean. thanks

Up .5 to 129.5. Bad news given it's my birthday week which is followed by halloween and DH's birthday week. I think I'm going to have to eat boiled eggs in between all these festivities.

congrats to everyone who lost!! I remain the same-for a whole month now. 172.8 starting to feel discouraged as I feel I eat so little and have really only lost 3.2 pounds since we started the 10 lb challenge. I'm really tired all the time, but do try to go for a daily walk. I know I need to get off my tush more, but I started back to work one week after rads finished and I just don't feel I have my strength back.

RangerMom, I'm happy about your liver, but sad your vertebrae are causing you pain. Big hug and be kind to yourself!

Wrenn happy birthday! Do enjoy yourself!

Liefie, your doing so great-share your secret ;-)

GuyGirl, I know how you feel. I crave sweet things all the time, but do limit myself to healthier sweet things-fruit etc. still I have to try harder to break that cyle, it's ruining me!

Hope everyone has a good week-keep smiling everyone!

Up 2 pounds, not a surprise after my week of emotional bingeing. Need to get back on track before I slide back into old habits. Ughh...Peggy

Dulci, go with the fluids ( insert wink).

Ranger, sorry about your vertebrae news. Still, you know you will do better if you eat right, so get back on the diet horse (insert a 'sigh' face).

I am about the same as last week (OK, up .5 (yes that is a decimal point.....insert wink). I have a family reunion coming up this weekend and that spells TROUBLE!

(can you tell that I wish they'd bring the emoticons back?!)

slv58, I have been trying to lose weight for months, was doing what I thought was right, and exercising regularly. Was still eating some bread and some white carbs like potatoes, pasta, crackers, and breakfast cereal, and as much fruit as I wanted. I could not understand why the weight would not go - in my mind I was doing everything right.

Then about 8 weeks ago I decided to cut out all white carbs, all bread and everything with sugar., including dessert. I use stevia in my coffee. Also limits myself to only 2 fruits per day, and no bananas. I'm also drinking way more water than before. For breakfast I have a healthy protein smoothie with joghurt instead of cereal or toast, for lunch I often have 2 hard-boiled or poached eggs with salad, and for dinner I have chicken breast, some red meat or fish with lots of low-calorie veggies like peppers, cabbage, mushrooms, spinach etc. For a snack I will have apple slices with a little peanut butter, or a very small bunch of grapes with a small piece of cheese, or about 12 nuts like almonds, walnuts etc. My treat is one small square of dark chocolate every night. I regularly eat avocado, and healthy fats and oils, which is essential for our health. I use lots of herbs, and some cream or full-fat sour cream now and then to make food more tasty. This is working for me, and I am seeing results at last.

I'm late at logging this week but I did lose 1.2 lbs. however I'm at a seminar where they just plop dessert down in front of you so next week maynot look good. Ugh the everyday temptations we face.

I also have to restrict carbs. I do really well keeping it to 72 carbs a day. Lately I've been trying to restrict even further but I think I have more cravings and thus more blow out days so I may just go back to the 72 grams.

Hey congrats on the carb restriction working, girls.

I have been at such a plateau for the last few weeks. I still have 4 or 5 pounds to go for our Christmas challenge (fluctuating right at that point weekly), although I am working out a lot more, getting in my 10,000 steps a day even if it kills my post-chemo "jelly joints", and tryng to eat right. I already avoid sugar.

BUT, perhaps the bread does have to go (sob), even the healthy whole grain bread. It is a good point. Thanks!!

I weigh 122.1 this morning, down 1 lb from last week. Just one tenth of a lb from my "lose 10 lbs by Christmas" goal of 122.

Up 100 grams. I wish I were down but I don't regret all that Tiramisu.

    You're almost there AnnieLane!

Missed last week due to revision surgery, but down TWO today!!! Wahoo!!! Of course one of them is most likely due to the lessened weight of the new smaller implants, but I am totally counting it!!! :-D
