yes Z-pack works for 5 more days after taking the last pill.  Frankly I can't believe they used a Z-pack for this.

Well I do not like my ready wraps yet.  I told my PT I will give it longer.  I did stay in them for 4 hours before getting so frustrated I said forget it.  Watched the Sloaris video on how to put them on.  Let's just say she had me doing it wrong so maybe tomorrow will go better.  I took them on and off 3 times standing up. grrr is the way I felt after seeing the video.  Hope it works better tomorrow.

    UTIs

Dont mean to take you astray, but I have all symptoms of  a bad UTI ...havent had 1 in  app 13 yrs ( had recurrent with meno)
Is this  a " LE thing " or coincidence ?  A new treat that goes along withLE  perhaps ? ( pls tell me no !)

I am going to try to get out there today and get a lab test and then anti Bs.  I used to take macrobid/ macrodantin.   I've been feeling ' something' but of course , hoping it would go away ( haha)
Overnight was ridiculous- kept waking to go and it was all pressure  , pretty intense.

Any info I need fo this or not related ?

    Many thanks

I think I am freaking out  a little because my leg starting hurting yesterday. Mind you, I had an old knee injury and it does flare up, but this feel 'different' somehow.  Of course I am associating everything with the LE!

KittyDog - thanks that is good to know about the z-pak  - I am allergic to most antibiotics - that is the only "safe" one to give me at this point with out play antibiotic roulette...

I must admit the hole is getting smaller - the redness around the hole seems to be bigger - guess it is the healing factor??? All new to me - this is one thing I would not like to do this very often... Open wounds seem to mess with your life quite a bit.

the redness is subsiding and the pain is also going away...woo hoo.  Yesterday I had a fever all day and body aches but today I am feeling quite good so far.  Lots to do as always...still no final word from doc as to whether or not we are a go for Nov 1st fingers crossed.

Purple, I have had loads of UTIs and an over active bladder for many years.  Connected to lymphie?  not really as I had the problem before BC, ignored during all the drama of BC treatment and then finally saw a urologist a couple of years ago.  My primare care doc had thrown in the towel,  I will say that the urologist I found has been great and actually got my overactive stuff under control with excercises and no surgery!  The UTI had been ok for almost 2 years for me so my recent thing was maddening.

I would go to your doc as it does not get better with out an antibiotic and it needs to be the correct one for you.  Good luck

Note to self - Don't wait to take a pain pill when you think you are fine.. even when you have a red leaky hole... I took my pain pill.. Just don't like being foggy all day...Undecided

Aw, Kittydog!Frown I'm hoping putting them on the right way will make a HUGE difference for you. People I know who use them love them (well, as much as you can love something you never wanted in the first placeTongue Out). Give it a go, and let us know what you discover!
    Gentle hugs,

Purple - are you on an AI?  Vaginal dryness/atrophy is one of the more nasty s/e from it, and many women report an increase in UTI while they are on AIs.  There's been a lot of discussion in it on the hormonal threads - women report relief once they start using estring or similar to increase estrogen to the vaginal tissues.

hmmm, sure could be part of my issue as I was awake all night on vaginal dryness and itch.

wonder if after 4 years it is getting worse or dryer? and of course if when I stop meds will it improve?  sure would be nice

Proudtospin, it improved dramatically for me when I went off the AIs (after about six years). So did the insomnia. And the depression. And the dry eye. And the joint aches. All good!

Binney, good to know the side jollies of the AL subside after ending the stupid PILL!

I am in the process of planning my retirement...which is about the same time as the end of the AL so maybe...I can be a hot chick?  or at least not in pain so much!  I do not have insomnia, but I take singular for asthma and it does make one sleepie

grrrrr I thought wearing this sleeve during the summer was a pain, but surely it wouldn't be so bad when the weather cooled off.  Wrong.  The temp is down in the low 20's and my cotton sleeve is harvesting cold.  Even with a sweater over the top it's cold.  Of course my thermostat seems to be on the fritz since bc came into my life.  I'm too hot, I'm too cold, I'm too hot all in the same 10 minute period.

Cindy I so understand! Today my ears are glowing red and my face is hot, but no fever. Which is actually good news. My wound opening is getting smaller, leaking goo and blood today. I hope that is good news?

Trying again... I missed last week at the fabric store - HAVE to work today to pay for my "insurance".. hole is looking better but still open... Prayers that I survive the day would be welcome.. They might just put me at the register so I won't be moving so much... I hate register though Tongue Out.. I'd rather stock threads - they are light... so I will get some exercise today... then will be back to resting for another week.

I only did 1200 steps so wasn't moving much but used my legs for the thread stocking and was careful at the register with anything heavy... I had to change the gauze 4 times in 5.5 hours.  Leaky little hole LOL - I can barely get the q-tip in the hole to clean it..

I find it so commendable that you were able to go to work that way.

You are on the mend, my friend !

Purple, I have no choice - If I was not to work yesterday, I might lose my paycheck that pays for what little "insurance" I have...

    Give yourself some credit!

I don't know what my PT's plans are now but I took the ready wraps back to my fitter today after talking with Solaris.  They said they would refund the money.  I tried them for a week and I just don't think they are worth the $2880.00 they charge me for them.  They want stay up and I can hardly walk with them on.  I will just have to have big knees and thighs until they figure something out.  The Fitter thinks I need the full leg...I don't think so.  If the top want stay up what good is adding the calf?  They are all separate pieces.  I need custom ones but if off the shelf cost this much for two knees and two thigh wraps, I can't imagine what they would charge for custom.  GRRRRRRR

Thankfully arm is not doing to bad considering all the traveling.  My aunt was DX with ovarian cancer.  Despite getting lymphedema in the legs...I am thankful I had them removed now.  Her's is genetic.

So with that passing the tootsie rolls.  Stay safe everybody in the path of Sandy.  We just got wind and some nice cold air.

Kitty, What a big disappointment with those wraps, I really feel for you, I can't advise you because I don't have any experience with leg LE. I just want to give you a big hug and a kiss and just please keep on trying. Don't give up and let LE beat you! Hopefully Binney and Kira will have some ideas. You were right to take them back at that price.
