lol Jen good luck, that kinda thing made me nervous, having to get things done and the staff are all stiff and starchy esp in the Hospital system. When i had the dye or what ever they did, it was to show up  the boob for the hook wire to go thru in the morning, but they were a stiff and very official pair of medical people, i mean they have a job to do, but they could talk and  make it abit  less scarey. that part of it hurt the most too, injecting the boob, OWWWW. esp one injection. i still remember it. down by the arole, nipple area. so they could of been abit more accomadating. anyway take care girls, i am going to clean up abit, having people coming to view these little kittens, i put on trade me, ebay. and i would like them to go. all are vacinated, expert at using a litter tray and man i am going to have to change it right now POOH, lol but hope  they go to nice homes with kind people, the part that worries me the most.  catch ya's.

Oh Midnight. I remember that injection - big ouch! Geez brings water to my eyes just thinking about it. STill the hookwire was practically painless thanks to it. Yes scary though have wires pushed into you.

Woke up to ice everywhere this morning!  Even the dog water had ice 1/2inch thick!  Just as well I keep another bowl inside..........lol.......I've been out driving around looking for willow this morning with younger of the 2 GS's.  He wanted some so he could make charcoal..........he's always buidling or experimenting or making smoke bombs!

I have been asked for a rib roast tonight so I'd best go and visit the butcher........at least I know they eat well while they are here with me as I seem to spend all my time in the kitchen!

Oh, Aly, good to hear that you are on the mend.....finally!

Jenn keep on keeping on girl.......those guys are gonna have to give in and give you a smile before you are finished.

    Sue......pretending? hahahaha

Trish stay warm and don't work too hard.

Kate how are you feeling now?  Are you out of the rabbit hole yet?

Hi to everyone else that I've missed.......got to go get the meat for tea.

    Love n hugs.  Chrissy

Hi Chrissy. Yes I'm out of my rabbit hole. I was just starting to think I was suffering from a depression and would need to seek help for it, but I thought I'd give myself a little more time and ... just like that.... I seemed to bounce up and back. So I think it was just a typical reaction to everything I'd been through. Sort of like an adjusment period I guess. Glad it didn't last too long as it wasn't a nice state to be in.

So with renewed vigor I have been attacking my garden and I feel so good now with what I have achieved. I have been dividing lots of lilliums, weeding and also buying a few new shrubs etc to plant. I try to be good when I go to the nursery these days... but it is hard! plants and anything for the garden are my weakness. I'd happily go a year without new shoes, but not so plants for my garden!

So life is just muddling along quite nicely, nothing really too interesting happening to me but I'd rather that than have dramas so no complaints here.

I'm curious whether anyone else is registered with Register4.  They have been recruiting Australians with or without BC to provide a pool of willing people to draw on when researchers want to find participants for a study.  There's no obligation to take part in any studies and they find out via a questionnaire what type of study would suit you, ie using your local GP, attending a cancer centre, posting in data etc.

They're recruiting now for a study into sexuality after BC for the patient or their partner.

    Joy, yes I am registered.

Jenn, you will charm the staff, I predict.

Chrissy, I bet you are a goddess in the kitchen.

Just booked a holiday in Tassie after Christmas!

Lol Racy, I don't know about a goddess but I do like good food and enjoy cooking for a crowd.  Cooking for two is just plain boring so the more the merrier.....lol.  Before I was Dx'd originally, I used to cook tea for twenty every Thursday night and I would literally spend all day in the kitchen but I loved it and miss that I can no longer do that.

I am constanly making up new recipes using just what I have in the fridge and pantry.......most are really simple but very tasty.

One dozen is still to come, I had to call them to find out where it was - they delayed sending it by mistake but it left yesterday. I think it might actually be 79 to go :) We polished off one tonight.

I sort of wish I had bought more of that Rosé from Woodstock.  It is so nice and oh so easy to drink......mmm..maybe it's a good thing that I didn't.....lol

Did they give you a reason they had delayed sending.....seems a little weird.  Oh well, it's on its way now and that's a good thing!

They said our order got mixed up with some others that were to be delayed. As long as we get it, I don't mind.

You are all doing relaxing stuff... I'm at work trying not to scratch my itchy chest...

Got a heat type rash between my breasts yesterday (and it's not like they touch as I'm not that buxom...) so the nurse gave me 1% hydrocortisone cream - not sure that is going to "do" it!

Also started coming up in random itchy hives over the weekend which is exactly what happens to me in the sun which is why I don't sunbathe... So am now taking an anti-histamine everyday approved by the nurses :-)

Work today then rads then RO appt. Got my "Jen's difficult questions" list all set for her (poor woman). Main one is that I expressed concern about scatter hitting my thyroid back at the beginning and she said "no way" and I didn't need a guard for my thyroid. Then I found that they are using a wedge on the machine for an angle right above my breast not far from my thyroid and my research tells me that wedges cause scatter! Geez...

Sue and Chrissy, the wine sounds delicious. It is also great you can remember your lovely visit while having a wine.

Radio going okay. Getting a bit red and am a bit sore. In fact the sorest part of me is my butt from sitting in the bus.

I get to see the nurse every Tuesday and the RO every Wednesday, plus I can see them any day if I am concerned.  The McGrath Breast Care nurse also sees me a couple of times a week. It is great to have such good support and I feel very lucky.

chrissy, one meal you told me about, some pasta dish, i was having sausages and chips and you were having this lovely pasta dish, but it sounded devine.  i can imagine you would be a yummy cook.

hope all ladies are ok and having a good day. i have lab results and i could be  tripple positive, i can't really decipher it,  but i will get there and  then i can tell you. seeing it would be an advantage too, small light blue writing. gosh, i have to squint to see it.

LOL Kylie about your bum. Not that it's funny, but just the way you wrote it is. I feel for you doing the trip everyday. It sounds like you have first rate support which is excellent to hear. I only ever saw my McGrath breast nurse twice, once at the initial appointment and again later when I was in hospital for the breast infection. Seems most of them are overwhelmed with work and too busy for 'routine' care of patients. so it's really great that you get to see yours a couple of times a week.

How are you doing Jenn with your rads? Have been thinking of you both during this time and hope it's not too taxing for you.

Not much news from me. I've had 4 herceptins now and so far absolutely no side effects. I get a bit of a drippy nose for a few days but that's all. I have to have my next LVEF scan in a couple of weeks. Time is truly flying by so quickly.

Oh and hubby flys out on the 24 July. There are 4 of them going from his office on the same day. He actually sounds excited about it. I mean 3x cooked meals a day and away with the blokes. Interesting to see if he can hack it or not (or me). He's a tough guy and hasn't got rose coloured glasses on about it, so I reckon he'll do OK. About the only chore I'll have to do on a weekly basis is take the garbage bins out. That's his job - I do everything else anyway.

Still "hating on it"... Sore underarm. Rash. Itchy hives. Not much positive from me right now :-)

Appt on Friday to see gynae about my ovarian cyst that now seems could be a cancer. No idea what plan will come out of this appt since I've still got rads until 6 August and don't think they'll do surgery in the middle of that.

The famous rads fatigue hasn't hit yet so still feeling good energywise.

Racy, the cyst has a "mural nodule" in it. The nodule is only 1.6mm but it could be a cancer. Only way to find out is to get it out for testing...

Men in my house are gazing at men in blue and red running around a field right now ;-)

Jenn, that cyst must be very worrying. I hope you get it excised successfully and it is found to be benign. Keep us posted.

Ladies, Chrissy and Sue talking of their wine sampling leads me to ask a question of all of you:

Did your doctor/s give you any advice about alcohol consumption and,if so, what was the advice?

I've mentioned before that I enjoy wine. I have discussed this many times with my doctors and they all seem to think that moderate consumption is ok. My onc thinks that a relationship between alcohol and bc is not proven.

Please post any advice or opinions that your doctors have expressed.

Racy my doc says to have what I want in moderation but he also knows I drink very little. The wine I bought will last me for a few weeks and unless I share a bottle with my DD I am unlikely to buy more anytime soon.

Jenn it seems like you can't take a trick lately. I sure hope you can get the ovary sorted and it turns out to be just cyst and nothing more. Try not to scratch the chest even though I know it will be driving you nuts.

    Love n hugs all. Chrissy

Kylie - feeling for you and your backside :-) It must be so draining to travel like that everyday.  Hang in there, you'll get through it.

Jenn - I'm keeping everything crossed that your cyst turns out to be nothing to worry about.

Lyndal - lol just what I expected from you.

Kate - Sounds like your man is ready for the challenge, and if the money is good, all the better (btw - you've been suspiciously quiet lately, I'll text you soon)

Chrissy and Sue - yes it is nice you can remember your time together with a glass or two ...

Racy, I can't help with your question about alchohol.  I really wasn't much of a drinker before bc, and chemo seems to have taken my taste for it away completely.  I just don't like the taste anymore, so have never really discussed the issue with my onc.

Midnight - maybe if you can type what's on your path report here, we can help you decipher it.

I've been crazily busy with getting all the images up on our website for the event we did on the weekend.  If you are interested (there's lots of shots of groups of people at tables though) have a look at our website rtphotos.biz and look at the page called Montevideo Maru - that's what's kept me quiet for a week or so lol

Hope everyone has a great day!

hi yes i will do so, we are having a wet day and the lighting in this house not good,  i will write it down and copy it from my writing as the writing on there is not easy for somebody who's eye site getting worse. but i will type on here. very dark day too, am going to tidy house again, have another girl coming at one to view her boy kitten she wants. well the last one. the black girl goes saturday, this one is going  next week. i may have to ask a holding fee and she can pay the rest when she picks him up, i have had people who have wanted kittens b4 and then changed their minds at the last minute and other people miss out who want them. so try and get that on board, ie path report. have a good day girls.
