Big day for me tomorrow girls. I'm getting my hair professionally coloured. Now that my hair is all back (but still short) but wavy all over and steel wool colour, I feel like an old lady who's had a perm. My hairdresser feels there is enough there to definitely colour and maybe (just maybe) put some foils/highlights in. I'll be sure to let you know how it goes. It can only be an improvement.

    Kelpie. Hugs to you. xxxxxx

Kelpie - that doesn't sound pleasant - trouble controling the bleeding :-( Yes waiting for path is a real pain.  If you are anywhere near Berrima and want to join us tomorrow - please feel free 12.15 at the Olde Magpie Cafe in Berrima ((((hugs))))

Kate - can't wait to see the pics of you with your new hair lol.

Well I'm feeling just great this morning - my aches and pains aren't nearly as bad as they've been, I've slept so well all week and generally just feel good.  I can't wait till all you girls just coming out of chemo and rads and still doing Herceptin feel like this too xoxox

Another cold day expected here again today - and snow forecast again for home. I hear you girls up in Brissy are expecting 27!  Think of us down here, we'll be struggling to get to 10 lol.

Morning girls.  hope everything is ok with you all. we had a  very eventful week. DH had to go and get a big ugly BULL outta neighbours paddock and the dam thing took to him and hubby was bunted 2 meters into a mud creek. bull still at neighbours, tomorrow a marksman is coming to drop it as we cznt get it out any other way, we have two other bulls and they huge too, and they want to shoot those too, but BIL does not want three done. too much meat, hell. so they will have to sort it. my head is going around in circles, just glad i have a husband left, he is feeling it, poor guy, his back and shoulder and neck. i  never liked that bull, he used to glare at me and i would go back and sit in car, gave me the creeps, he was the smaller of the bigger guy. Animals grrrr.  i love em and i hate em. i have  Lilly the lamb to feed now. she will be barring her head off. have a good day ladies.

Oh Midnight - bulls can be so cranky sometimes - well most of the time actually.  Your DH is lucky he's not too badly hurt. I stay away from them. The farm around us has organic beef and the cows and calves are lovely, but when the bull is in with the cows I keep my distance lol - they do have a tendancy to glare at people lol

    Amanda, thinking of you, it's horrid having to wait over the weekend for results. As Trish said we would love, if you are able, for you to come to lunch with us at Berrima tomorrow. There are four of us - five if you can make it. {{{hugs}}}

Midnight I am so glad hubby is ok. Your lamb sounds cute.

Kate I am looking forward to seeing a pic of your new hair. It must be getting much longer if you are ready for streaks, that's fantastic.

Trish, we are in for a cold snap. It is supposed to be rainy and cold tomorrow, all the better for a long lunch.

Have a great weekend everyone, Kylie x

Just gave her(lamb) some lamb nuts, like little hard pet food bickeys, that kinda helps with the not having to feed her milk so often, she is an older lamb, so she should be on grass as i noticed she had a dirty bum, so she is getting loose bowels, which indicates the milk could be upsetting her, night and morning is enough i think. she so cute, they are all when little.  wonder how many more i will end up with. usually about 4, hope they all self sufficent this year and their mummys look after them. sometimes if twins are born  they abandon one and thats sad, i end up with those ones.  my first was MARY, she now HAS her own . she loved mcdonalds and milo, she loved the mcdonald fries lol, tart. she still knows her name, but comes up  to me and  then  pees her pants now. GREAT. all the thanks i get for sharing macdonals with her.  KIDS LOL

Yes, Kelpie/Amanda it would be great if you could join us... I am not sure where you are but if it's somehow along the way on my trip from Sydney to Berrima please PM me and I could pick you up and drop you off... My car has nice heated seats so if it's cold it will be very comfortable! Coming to lunch with us might help the weekend go faster too.

I have to take my daughter for an upper abdominal ultrasound tomorrow morning at 8.30am. She has been having a sore tummy off and on for a few weeks and the doctor thinks it best to check her gallbladder etc. This is my daughter who is 19yrs with Down Syndrome so this could be a "challenge"...

Not sure if I let you all know that the quote from the BS arrived in the post yesterday. Not bad, with an estimated gap of $996. So now we know we can afford to "take them off" we just have to see what the PS quote looks like. I'm hoping it is waiting in the mail-box when I get home this evening from work. I know that it will be many thousands more than the BS one.

Oh Jenn. now I know why we dropped our private insurance, it was costing us too much.  If we had two incomes that would have been different.

I'll change to a more recent photo just for today.  My hair is longer now and hopefully I'll colour it this afternoon to get rid of the grey roots.  I'm short, not sure what I'll wear yet.

I'll be wearing my pink BCNA survivors badge on my very flat chest, ha ha, easy to spot me.

    You look lovely Joy!

I look like my picture but with a wig on instead of my real hair (that pic was taken just before I started chemo). Also, what my pic doesn't show is that I'm a little on the "cuddly" side :-)

Trish and I have met for coffee once before so I will probably recognise her - although I may not with the amount of weight she has lost!

I hope at least one of you have met SusieQ as I've been accused by both conventional and alternative members of being her sock puppet.  Better leave my socks at home!

Isn't that hilarious Sue?  Which of us has been here longer?  (Oh no, now we're talking to each other!)  Cool  Sealed

Have a wonderful lunch tomorrow!! Pics please of you will.

    Joy you look great!!

Cold day after a stormy cold night. Mega hail and lots of rain through out the night. At least the rain has stopped and the lit fire has kept me warm. Good weather for knitting .... lol.

I had a wonderful surprise this afternoon, a friend I haven't seen for ages was on her way to the farm about an hour from here, called in for a quick visit and a coffee. She is a mad keen quilter and crafter do we had heaps to discuss. It was soooo nice to see her.

    Take care all.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Sue, I just checked, we have similar hairstyles, both have crinkly or wavy hair, I use a styler to straighten mine, we're nearly the same age, both live in Australia though last time we drove to Qld it took all day driving after leaving very early, about 12 hours plus stops.  My eldest son lives in Brisbane due to his work developing computer software.  I used to work in the finance sector, life insurance, but I'm retired now. Hubby also worked in IT for a very large Australian company.  We both have relatives in the UK. And we were both diagnosed in 2009.  Gee, we could be twins.

On the other hand, I still have New Zealand on my bucket list, and I would never want to move away from good old sunny Australia.  And we have different views on treatment options, and I have different political views. Well that ruins any idea of sock puppets, but it was good entertainment for 5 minutes.

These things are said in PM's or on other web sites.  I guess if we ever make it to Brissie we'll have to have our photo taken together.  But then the rumours will just change.

I did spend a week in Switzerland once which is said to be similar to New Zealand.  Every view there is like a post card and I imagine NZ is similar but hopefully not as expensive.

Well I got my hair done today. What a huge big step and milestone that was for me. Julie (my hairdresser) even tidied it up a bit with scissors, especially around the back of the neck and she thinned it out too. Seems my hair is still as thick as it always was. I have to say, that when she had finished slicking it with wax and showed me the back in the hand mirror I broke down and bawled like a baby. I found it hard to stop. I felt I was looking at 'me' for the first time in 6 months and not a stranger.

well the cranky Bull is now put to rest, he can't kill or maim anybody now, hubby still has back pain, but he said its annoying as he doe not brusie on the out side, it is all on inside and when people ask about bruse,  there is none. he said, he has no eveidence of his altercation with a bull, he is about  950kgs that bull,  and the other one in paddock is bigger than him. but hubby is feeling it, he said, he must of got head bunted in guts as his side of tummy is sore. he was very lucky, he was not killed.

Hello to all my gorgeous Aussie & NZ friends!  Haven't been here for awhile - got busy doing something... not sure what keeps me so busy (other than blogging, massaging, supporting friends with BC, etc....) but I had FIVE pages of chat to catch up on!  You ladies keep me entertained, I have to say that.

Re the skunk - the blighter made a return a couple days ago and stunk us out again!  Can you believe it?  Rotten sod.  Luckily, we slammed the windows and doors shut quickly and got out our bottles of essential oils.  Peppermint works particularly well, its strong scent covers up the skunk fumes nicely.

Trisha-Anne - you don't want to smell one, trust me!

Midnight - congrats on being 1 year away from DX.  Great days!  I'm happy for you.

ChrissyB - fancy that, you've been to Colorado!  I'm impressed.  I haven't even had the chance (or made it) to get on the Pikes Peak cog rail, and I even spent a lot of my childhood in that area, my grandfather lived nearby.  Yes, we are in Denver, western side.  Missing Perth - trying to get back in November this year if we can.

Kylie - you definitely deserve a doctor who will sit down and listen to you.  I think I must have been lucky.  My oncologist was a younger fellow and he was so caring and wonderful and listened to me carefully and always made suggestions (which I usually promptly ignored and went the natural route... ah well).  I agree with Racy and Jenn - you want someone who will listen to you.  Even though the checks from now are just follow-up visits, I still think it's important to feel good about your rapport with your doctors.

Jenn - wow surgery on 9/28.  It's good to have a date to look forward to.  I recently wrote an article about the best ways to prepare for surgery, so if you'd like that info just send me a message and I'll forward it to you. Oh, the heck with it, I'll just post the link here.  You can ignore it if you aren't interested:  http://marnieclark.com/my-top-favorite-things-to-promote-surgery-recovery/   I had the Lat Dorsi flap surgery in Perth, 2 wks after my lumpectomy.  I'm not finding it to be the case that ALL women here in the US are wanting/getting reconstruction immediately.  A lot are waiting.  Some are rejecting it entirely.  Everyone is different.  Let me know if I can help at all.

Kate - wow you had a lucky escape with the road incident - I'm so glad!  And I'm also glad that you were able to find a massage therapist to work on you right away.  Clever girl.  Not everyone would have known to do that but it's really important to get onto just as soon as you have an accident like that.  It really keeps the inflammation and trauma to the muscles under control.  And congrats on the new hairdo!  I'll bet it looks great.

Kelpie - hanging out to hear the results of your tests.  Sending you love and light and many hugs.  Keep us posted.

I hope I didn't forget anybody/anything.  Nice to drop in and see how you're all doing.

Get plenty of rest ladies (and don't forget to inject some fun into your day).

    Lots of love,
