Hi all! Well this weekend sure has flown........I seem to have spent a great deal of it in the kitchen.....lol......two teenage boys sure do take a bit to fill up ......lol. To nights menu is home made Lasagne and pizza with ice cream to follow f they are still needing something else. I asked them on Thursday when I picked them up what they wanted to eat and I got requests for all their favourites........chille con carne, Parmesan chicken and roast veg, lasagne and pizza, bacon and egg sandwiches. Thank goodness I love cooking, particularly when I have people to cook for.......it's just not the same with just the two of us......lol.

Heading back to the city tomorrow to return said boys to their parent. DD has managed to make an appointment with her hairdresser for me to get a colour and discuss styles that will work for me for the wedding. I'll stay overnight as we have an appointment with the dress maker for the final decision on the lace for her dress as well as the postponed appointment with my doc......another busy day. Depending on what the doc says and how I feel I may or may not drive home that night.......I'll just have to wait and see.

Hoping all have had a great weekend and all are feeling as best they can.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Well girls, i am on the preperation for my colonoscopy and gastroscopy for tomorrow, and to put it mildly, i am kind of freaking out abit, i am not very fond of my backside been investigated or any foriegn objects even near it, not feeling too bad about the other one, had one  of those before and i am a little freaked to what they find as well, even tho i need answers, am scared to what those maybe as well. Anyway take the first the mixture at four and then seven.  Hubby has brought two large packets of loo rolls lol, he has prepared in that sense. and the last lot in morning at 8am. be glad when its all over.

Chrissy, have a good day in city, be nice having yr boys stay with you. young boys normally are like a bottomless pit as far as eating, always hungry, which usually means they are generally healthy, but if that was  not the case, it would be quite worrying if they were not into eating at that age, just glad you were able to cook to there taste lol.

well i hope you all had a good weekend and ready to start another week, enjoy your holiday planning Karen,

    Angela, how are you doing?

Trish, hope you ok and feeling alot better in all ways. take care,

Hope you all have a great day.

Karen, I am so excited for you. Sounds like a lovely holiday and just what you need.

Midnight, good luck tomorrow. I agree with you and think that it is a bit embarrasing having that part of your body looked at, but it is all for the better and they need to find out what is wrong so that they can treat you.

Chrissy, thinking of you today with all your driving.Enjoy your stay overnight with your daughter, sounds like you will be busy there, too.

    Angela, thinking of you.

I have an appointment with the oncologist tomorrow and meeting a girlfriend for lunch after that. xx ( I will be thinking of you Midnight Embarassed )

    Cheers

Hi girls. I'm hanging in here.

I am hopeful radiation has stopped or slowed progression in hands as well as legs. Am still disabled but am happy to settle with where I am at. No new symptoms.

I have recently complained about breathlessness but only when the palliative home care nurse did her usual checks and reported it to the doc did they decide to do a ct scan. Found blood clots had reached my lungs. So a quick injection of blood thinners, and into hospital I went. 3 days later I am happy to be home. DH can do twice daily injection so all is ok.

Chemo next Wed then a week off. First dose had me a bit more fatigued with very sore throat but so far manageable. No more rads planned.

So that's me at the moment. I won't post Individual messages but love reading it all. Thank you for all the well wishes.

    Love Angela xxx

Angela, thanks for the update. It is lovely that you are able to manage at home. Hugs.

Karen, have a wonderful, wonderful holiday. Expecting more wonderful pics.

Annette, all the best for procedures. It will be over before you know it and then hopefully you will get closer to some answers.

My new onc. rang me today to tell me my scans showed scar tissue only. It was so nice of him to do that.

I bought some bras off the net that have a really wide band under the breast and no wires, yet they are still supportive. Finally a bit of comfort with some support and they don't rub on my sore bits. Yay

    Hello girls

I'm back from BIL's funeral. It was a good funeral, well as good as a funeral can be. It's been a long day, three and a half hour drive each way.

Angela so good to hear from you, sorry to hear about the blood clots, but good they found them.

Karen, OMG you don't muck around girl! Have a wonderful time, and cherish every moment xoxo

Annette, I had a colonoscopy in Dec, don't worry about it at all. The prep really is the worst part of it all. You'll be asleep and won't know what's being done to you at all, no embarrassment, really. I have no recollection of it at all. You won't even feel uncomfortable when you wake up. Good luck, I'll be thinking of you xox

I'm feeling a lot better, getting very tired still, but these antibiotics are working better I think. Still missing Gus a lot, and our other dog, Beau is wandering around lost too.

Just a quick note. Calm before the storm. Not really just having cup of tea before the day becomes crazy. DS's wedding this afternoon so there are flowers to do, cars to get ribbon on, hair to be done, flowergirl to get dressed and Muriel (DH's mother) to get dressed which might bethe most difficult. The boys arrive here about 11 so lots of fun.

Yesterday MiL said that she had stockings, I said but you don't need them you are wearing trousers. No she says I have a dress. No I say it is a tunic which you wear over trousers. But I don't have trousers. Yes you do, the black ones you had on when we bought it. Oh dear and poor DH has to go and pick her up. About to write a list for him. Poor old dear she is totally losing it. I must admit though the image of my very proper MiL wearing a mid thigh tunic over black stockings is funny.

People are moving so must do so myself.

    Big hugs to all

Alyson, enjoy the wedding, it will be a great day. Pity the weather is not finer for you.

Well i went and had the colonoscopy and gastroscopy and it is all clear, so that is not the reason for the iron, they will have to look to other avenues to find that out. but the disapointing  part was that i felt it all,the gastroscopy was done first, that was not too bad as they numbed my throat, but that other thing, man i felt it as he turned the corners with that scope, pumped my tummy up with air and what ever they did, at one stage i wanted to swear, i kind of did to myself say the f word, not my usual, i think the nurse knew and said, i know, sorry, i have a sore back today, probably bruised. next time i have one of those, i am going for a general and another bloody hospital. when they did my lumpectomy,, they were so cool, the nurses and people were cool, but not enough sedation. this time round. I got told by people around the country here, they put you out so you don't remember what they did, i was not even drowsy, i don't know what they put in the line, but it must of been watered down, it was supposed to relax you. yes that was very sore at some points of it.  Yes i am moaning, but i was alarmed, she did say that some parts could be uncomfortable and i thought, oh Gosh, i am going to know whats going on am i and i did. What i did not want to happen is to feel it.sorry girls but i am having a vent here, but i am also pleased there was nothing inn that end that is wrong.

How did you get on Mandy with yr appointment, hope it went well.  i have heps of work to do , so will go and come back later and say hi.

Oh so sorry Annette. You should NOT have felt it. I've had 1 Gal and 2 Cols before and never recalled any discomfort. I am so angry that happened to you. Vent away. It must have been horrible.

Annette - that's horrible.  You should have been knocked out for it and not known anything about it.  You poor thing.  I'd be complaining to someone at the hospital if it were me.  ((((((hugs)))))

    Aly - have a wonderful day :-)

I'm back at work today - just have to work today and then have four days off.  I'm really feeling human again lol.  A bit tired already, so hopefully that won't get too bad, I need to be here till around 3.30.

Hope everyone else is going well.

Hi Jenn, yes, i am really getting around to that point and also asking for a 2nd opinion on the gastroscopy as when i had it done in Whangarei a few years ago, they took more than 5 mins to do it and found i had gastric reflux disease and i was going to get some of that slipery elm, a health food that is supposed to help the esophegus and when i  told my doc at that time, he said, that it was a waste of time as i would never get rid of of it and it would get worse over time and it has as i am on the highest doseage of  losec, Omezparole and still have to take gaviscone, so how can be normal, i feel they were cross cutting as they were doing two at the same time in the same time they would do one and they were running late as my appointment was at one and i never got in til 2,45 to have it done.  i believe it about my bowels, but not the  top half. the bowel should of taken that  time and i was out about 3.10.  so i am just abit suspious that they rushed me thru. i donot believe they took the time to do it and put more into the  bottom end. Anyway  am still annoyed. thankyou for your support ladies.

Annette, I am so sorry that you have gone through so much discomfort today. How frustrating! I am also very disapointed with the way that you have been treated right along, I was really hoping that things would have started to improve for you by now. I agree, lodge a complaint, because that just doesnt sound right at all.

Trish, I am so glad that you are on the mend.

I had quite a refreshing day yesterday. The Xray report showed that the mets in my hip and shoulder show that there is no risk of fracture, so I am doing the happy dance. My feet are in quite a state, so I have been advised to stay off the Xeloda for a week or two, so I am really enjoying today. It is such a strange feeling not taking my medication wahoo!. The Regristrar noted my swollen lymph gland and said that she is not surprised considering the mets are spread all over, and she will keep an eye on it. Scans in about a months time anyway. My tumor markers have gone down considerably and are almost normal and that is the main thing because that shows that the medication is working. The lump in my abdomen is probably due to the Tram Flap. I took my car to the crash repairers today for a quote for the insurance company and then took my elderly mother shopping. Tomorrow I will be doing some cooking for Mum as I have noticed that she is not eating properly. She has 2 minute noodles for tea!!! (most nights) no meat and no vegies, but she does eat 2 pieces of fruit at least each day. I will be cooking meatloaf and also chicken vegetable soup so that I can freeze them in individual containers for her. I love cooking so that will be my relaxation tomorrow.

    Hugs

I have to take my car in this afternoon for another insurance quote and hopefully I will know more next week when I can get my car fixed. At least it is still drivable. First car accident in more than 20 years, and thank goodness it was only a small one.I am going to spend some time in the garden today and enjoy this fantastic weather.

Good morning Girls, hey Karen enjoy yr travels, i am sure you will have a superb time. Just relax and capture in every moment and stay safe.

Mandy, it is cold and yuk here, wind is cold, i am going out soon to sweep the front porch, the dam dog is lazy and she pees on the step, makes me livid, so i am going to sweep it and spray some stuff  as its smelly. she is a destructive little tart, i don't think she like  going on wet grass and been too wet to walk her.  lol we moaned about the rain not been around and now there is too much and it makes a messy mud puddle, everywhere, poor weather can't win. You have a good day gardening.

I am going to to talk to my GP and ask him a few things and talk to him about my experience at the Hospital and about the fact that i don't see how they got a proper look, so i am not confident in the Dx with the gastroscopy and i feel pretty confident that i did not get enough sedation to make it more comfortable for me to bear, am still feeling quite pissed about it, so will talk to him. will catch you later. hugs all

Hey Chrissy, how are you doing?, hope you ok and had good day away with your family getting your wedding preperation done.  Anyway will continue with my cleaning now, have just bleached the front  porch where dog keeps urinating and am going to measure the kennel and put some iron down that side to block cold wind from blowing in at night, she was very disturbed last night and we discovered that she was probably cold due to a hole in the that side and she will not go into another kennel, she likes that one, so will fix it up that she is more comfortable.  Hope you ok Chrissy,

Thank you Tammy, i am not a confrontational person and find it easy to just let things go, but if i am ever to have one of those again, i do not want to go thru that again ever.

    Hi girls!

Thanks for asking Annette, aside from having to really think about what goes into my mouth at the moment I'm pretty good.....lol.  We're, (doc and I), trying to track down why I have such stomach pains so he's put me on a no sugar, no dairy and no glutem diet.  Trying to find out if they are food allergy related or if my diverticulosis has turned an become full blown diverticulitis.......UGH!!  I guess the clean food will do me good what ever happens and I may even loose a few more pounds to boot.  Now that would be a good thing......lol.

I can't believe the treatment you have gotten from the hospital......that really does need to be followed up on and a complaint put in to the appropriate people.  Please don't just let it pass without registering your feelings.

My little dog is getting old and has decided that she doesn't like going out in the cold or getting her feet wet so she has begun peeing on the floor in the kitchen.  Thankfully it is a slate floor and very easy to mop up (she's only little) and I keep a spray bottle of disinfectant and a roll of paper towel at the end of the sink for just such occassions......lol.

I have begun making ribbon roses.  I know some of you have already seen them on FB but for those who haven't I'll repost them here.  These are the very first ones I made!

Now I've managed to do these I will embark on the ribbon embroidery side of things.  I'll keep you all posted on the outcome.

Aly the photo is great......it shows the soft lighting and ambience of the room.  That cake looks divine!

Hoping you all have a good night.

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy

Alyson, thank you for the photos. They are beautiful and your GD looks like she had a fantastic day. xx

Chrissy, I hope you find out why you re having so much tummy pain. I admire your strong will. I would find it very difficult to give up sugar or dairy. Those ribbon roses are beautiful. Smile I too feel sorry for our pets when they get old and start disliking to use the lawn because of the rain and the cold wind etc. I think that as long as it is easily cleaned up, good on you. They are part of the family, and I certainly would not want to go out in the cold with my bare feet on the lawn and then getting splashback... lol . Neds in Victor Harbor have those puppy training pads, and we used that for our elderly Jack Russell. We put one in the laundry and our Jack Russell was very happy using them.
