I went to wellington today, big day, went to get some fence panels. The are for around boundry fence at farm, like deer height, so the animals cant get out and un -wanted thoughfare can't get in and they have a wire  over  is barbed that makes it hard for them to climb in. We sure there have been things flogged from there as things gone missing. and also smaller  ones to sub divide the paddocks to break feed the animals. we have already put alot of new fencing aup, well deer fences along the fences and that saves alot of money getting a person to fix fences, they are all  wired to the fences and can't be shifted.so very pleased it is working and looks very attractive as well. one  idea that BIL  has had  and workiing well, credit due to him. I was looking at all the houses on the hill in wellington, man if you know wellington, its very hilly and man with these earthquakes of late, glad i am not in one, some  right on the edge, i shudder to think what happen if the big one came. you get your clothes dry quick up there. palmerston north is like pancake and in sqares. but floods quickly. anyway all have a good night.

Karen WOO HOO for you,  very happy for you. xxxxx

Karen, I am so pleased about your good news. Heres hoping that Xeloda will keep on working for a long time. Smile

I have been to Adelaide today (again) and met up with some close friends and had a lovely lunch.

Lots of pain since last Sunday when I woke up with pain all over especially my right shoulder which has bone mets and also all the other areas that I have my bone mets except for the skull. I could hardly move on Sunday and delayed my trip to Adelaide to Monday. My pain has subsided a little but it is starting to bother me. Panadol osteo is not working. I am hoping that it is due to my Denosumab injection which I had 2 days prior to my aches an pains and that it is only scar tissue on those bones. Maybe it is just old age. Oh well, we will wait and see. Undecided

Chrissy, not long now before the wedding. I hope you are still on track.xx

Trish, I just love your kitchen and I am soooo jealous. It looks absolutely fabulous. xx

Annette the fence sounds like a great idea and as long as it's working the way you want it to it's got to be a good thing.

Mandy are you only taking Panadolosteo for you pain?  OMG!  I must be a whimp as I have that and Tramal!  I sure hope you can get your pain undercontrol as there is nothing worse.

Ther wedding stuff is still on track.......yahooo!.  The hearts for the train are done and ready to go to the dressmaker....all 50 of them!......lol.   This is a pic of them for your perusal.

The last couple of days have been taken up with fussy cutting the lace for the table runners........what a fiddly job that is!   It takes me about six hours to do both sides of a twelve metre length but I must admit once on the dark background it looks pretty good and will certainly achieve the effect I'm looking for.

What do you think?  That's just a little bit of one set out on my ironing board......anyway, two down and one to go.  Then it's back to the dream catchers for that last half dozen.

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy

Chrissy, they look beautiful. You are very clever.

Thanks for filling me in about your pain killers. I think I was on tremedol at the beginning of the year for a short time and I forgot about it. I will go back to the doc today as it has been more than a week and I have no energy due to the pain. Tremedol did the trick last time. cheers. xxx

Chrissy....they are beautiful, you are very talented & patient.....

When is the wedding? Do you have your outfit yet?

Mandy....I too take Tramadol. I take a 100mg slow release morning & night & 50mg top ups throughout the day! Maybe both Chrissy & I are just whimps........lol

Thanks for all the good wishes girls......xx

Having lunch with all my kids today so best go get organised....

Karen I also have the slow release and I adjust the dosage to my pain level and what I'm doing. My script says 1 - 2 tabs four times a day as required but I get away with 1 three times a day unless I've been doing either repetitive or heavy work then I indeed need the 2. They are 50mg each.

I haven't got my out fit yet and not sure what I want. I hate clothes shopping as that always makes me feel like ten ton tesse as all the things I like are in size 12 and I'm afraid my curves are way more ample than than and all in the wrong places........lol. I think I'm going to have to grab my two girls and organise a shopping day.....UGH!!!!

Mandy please get your doc to give you a script for something stronger than Panadolosteo........being in pain is no fun and really pulls the QOL down to nil. There should be no problem getting them for you and just take them on a continual basis to be comfortable.

Annette, hope you've got your washing done.........I did mine the other day and that night my DH found a whole lot more for me........don't know where he was hiding it but I was none to pleased I can tell you.

It's a gorgeous day here today although the wind has a chill to it but augers of good things to come and certainly heralds the fact that spring is on its way!!! Yay!!!

    Have a good one all!

chrissy,  yes i did and i am glad i did a pocket check. a bundle full of last nights lotto tickets almost washed, went to get them checked, all un winning ones, bugger. i want to buy a flash mansion. tell the trucks  people to take a leap somewhere, give BIL a million, tell him where to go and me amd hubby just veg out. oh man what a dream. hubby would just love to look after his animals,  and pretty well live a stress free life. ONE CAN ALWAYS LIVE IN HOPE> LOL, i would love to buy an island,  secluded. no neighbours. I could get an ark built for the animals too. what a vision. I will wake up now. yea washing all done. better go and feed the dogs, shut them up.

tramadol is a form of morphine is it not? my dad used to have it and i remember at the rest home, we had  to have two people to sign it out to a resident if we had any on it, and count them and then we had to document that. and then sign it, both parties, same  with liquid morphine/ well night girls

Hello everyone from Torino Italy! The weather is beautiful and we are doing lots of walking and eating :-)

Alyson, I loved the photo of your grandson, he looks very cheeky (and very cute)....

Karen, I am so pleased for you....

Mandymoo, I do hope you can sort out your pain relief for your quality of life.....

Delvzy and Chrissy, I am sorry to hear about your losses.....

Chrissy, you are soo talented....the hearts and table runner are beautiful...I wish I had the patience...and some skill would probably help too.....

The screening debate strikes a cord with me....I am one of the lucky ones found through screening and I believe that if I had waited until I "found it" my prognosis would be much different....I think they believe I am one of the few who actually benefit from screening but to me that is important...when found the tumour was small but it was already on the move with a micro met in a node and a spray of cells in another....what if I'd not found it for another 6 months?????

On a more positive note, Annette, I also love having "lotto dreams"....I only indulge occassionally but I think the dream is worth the price of the ticket :-)

I had my lumpectomy and total duct excision on Friday, you were all correct, way less worrisome now that its out of the way. I am waiting to hear from my surgeon but in the meantime, im ok. At pre-admission i was told I could return to work thursday (8th) and was given a medical certificate in advance, now ive been told that it was more involved and I have to wait until I see my surgeon on the 13th and was given a certificate to cover til then, im a bit devastated as I love my work and thought it would be a great distraction :(

On a goodish note, the surgeon said that as soon as they opened it, they saw it, so tjey didnt have to search or nothing.

With the swelling, both of my breasts looked the same, now its starting to go done and I can see the difference, but it is so much better than I was told it would be.... although when I was told it would be a bit bruised, I didnt expect this, whoa!

    Now just to wait...

Anyhow, I wanted to say that I truly appreciate all of the support that you offer and thank you for being so welcoming, you are all a blessing!

Annette, Tramadol is a synthetic morphine and yes, it is a controlled substance. In order for my doc to prescribe it for me he gets a special authorization from the drugs control centre........there is no problem though as he just tells them that paracetamol and ibuprofen no longer work for me. Oh yeah! Those lotto winning dreams are fantastic ........only problem is you have to but a ticket to win and I always forget.........lol

Yay Tammy! Sounds like you are having a fabulous time! Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!

Becca so glad that part is all over for you. Just relax and let your body heal and don't worry about the time off work......it's only an added few days. Keeping everything crossed that you get a good result.

Heading out for an Art Opening and I'm wearing my pearls! Haven't had an occasion to wear them for ages and am feeling very pretty.......yay!

    Have a relaxing night all!

    Evening all,

    Becca, pleased thing went well.

I use tramadol as well which I take with panadol. Also have paracode that I use during the day. You can imagine the reaction of the pharmacist at times especially if it is one who doesn't know me because I have brufen as well. GP, specialist and I have worked out strategy that works reasonable well. Must remeber to ask for letter before we go away just in case someone decides to check my supply of drugs.

These are two of the chairs that I recovered on Friday - eight in total, quite pleased with my effort.

Aly they look fab and I love the colours of the stripe! Very chique!

I always take the Panadol osteo with my Tramadol as it works better with Panadol in the background so that's what my docs have told me and of course I had to try without just to make sure they were right..........lol. I think I need to take their word for it a lot more.......lol

Just back from the opening and it was lovely and the art was an exhibition of Chris Crabtrees etchings of Venice......beautiful! So glad we went.

Becca, you must be feeling well if you're ready to get back to work, great news! My bruising was terrible as well but it resolved fairly quickly so you'll soon be feeling more comfortable :-)

Alyson, good work on the chairs.....

Chrissy, I love art openings, I tried to look up Chris Crabtree as I am not familiar with his work, can you let me know some background.....

Wow!  So much good news here, which is wonderful to see.

Karen, I'm doing the happy dance for you too - that is so nice to hear xoxoxo

Aly and Chrissy - you girls do far too much - naughty girls.

Aly - I love, love, love your chairs.  You (and Chrissy) are so clever.  I had dreams of recovering a chair once - it was a total disaster.

Becc - was thinking of you on Friday, I'm glad to hear you are doing well. Even though you feel pretty good - be careful not to overdo things.  It's easy to do and you need to take care of yourself :-)

Tammy - thanks for checking in from the other side of the world!  Sounds like you are having a great time, stay safe and don't forget to post some pics when you get a chance.

Midnight - I'm lucky - my DH does the washing, so it's usually me that gets into trouble for leaving something in pockets - usually it's a tissue, and that causes a huge mess lol.

    Have a great day all.

    Trish

lol Trish, they do make one hell of a mess, those tissues, BIL leaves the accasional  tissue in the pockets, he was bad at it til i told him, i would not bother brushing off his clothes and they would look a mess with tissue and makes a mess of the machine too. good when they leave DOLLARS.  lol. hubby good at that. as i use the launderett, it mainly goes on that anyway. be nice to have my own machines again, but i quite enjoy sitting there with my mags relaxing waiting. and talk to nice people.

Aly. i love those chairs, you are another clever lady.

Tammy, you lucky lady, i wish i was with you. well doing what you are doing.

Went to my exersise class. apparently there are  some of the machines i cannot go on,i heard them, talking, because of other contribiting factors, so i asked what they are, and he said, my bad heart, i did not know i had one, he said, thats why i wear a heart monitor when i go there with all the exersises. they said, yea you have and the raidiation has made it worse with the diabetes. it took me back abit. first i heard of it. thats why i do the gentle stuff.  my diastolic reading with BP rearly gets below 90 and i am at high risk of a cororony. i knew that my heart will be affected by some of the treatments, but i did not think i had a bad heart anyway, the docs have never told me this and the thyroid has the big part of it too.Frightening  for me abit, one of the students asked if i go on the tread mill, and that is how it came to talking about it, the one  who takes me. anyway good night all. xxxx

My rant and rave - I am enjoying working and have decided that except for the 'need to knows' I won't mention BC. That is fine except for the queries:

Why am I so paranoid about getting sunburnt. Why can't I do kickboxing with the others? Why do I have trouble getting off the floor sometimes? Why do I shake my hands and feet (still have bad neuropathy)? Etc etc.

I know you will understand. I think maybe in all the info put out about cancer some mention should be made that even after treatment there are still issues.

Mel - what great news!  YAY!!!

Now hoping you can find a job you are happy and comfortable with :-)  Good for you going to the gym.  I've been going for a few months now and it's been helping with strengthening my core, I can now open a carton of milk by myself! lol.

Plasterers are at home as I type this finishing the kitchen, hopefully by Saturday they can come back and do the really messy job of sanding the plaster.  That's something I'm not looking forward to - that plaster dust gets absolutely everywhere, I can see my weekend will be spent dusting and washing floors lol.

Cold here - and we are expecting snow in some areas overnight tonight, yesterday was so miserable - cold, wet and very windy.  It would have been a good day to be at home snuggled up with a book.

On the bright side - I'm now working a nine day fortnight, which is wonderful.  Maybe next year I can go to a four day week.

    Stay warm everyone

Weather here is great, the sun has been shining fir a few days now with the odd shower through the night........now that's what I call perfect early spring weather! Heading back to the city shortly as I have my appointment with my naturopath first thing tomorrow and the GI doc after lunch. I'll get a bit of window shopping done while I'm there as there will time to kill and I'm thinking of going to Ikea. There are going to be a few little changes in my dinning room so I have to look for some ideas for storage.

Take care all! Hope you day is warm and productive.

Chrissy i hope you get some GI answers tomorrow. What do you see your naturopath for? I am stunned how beautiful your lacework is, I can't wait to see the final photos.

Trish, it's great you are working a bit less. I hope you are finding the reduced travel is good.

Mel, good on you for doing a course and good news about your results.

Midnight sorry to hear what they said at the gym but at least you can be proactive and better understand the cause and effect.

Alyson I just love your chairs. I would never try anything with straight lines, you have done an amazing job.

Mandy Moo I hope you have been able to access some pain relief.

    Becc how are you doing?

Hey all, I had a phone interview for a new job today. I think it went really well, and so if I don't get a call back for the face to face interview in a couple of weeks I will be very surprised (and impressed with the calibre of the other applicants).

This job would be closer to home and although it sounds like it would be a small step down in terms of responsibility it has very great potential for advancement (and I really wouldn't mind a few months in a slightly less demanding position...

I already know a couple of people who work for the company and they seem to like it. Since my workplace has become a bit toxic I am hoping this comes off.

Jenn.....all the best with job :) Having a less demanding job for a few months would be, as you say, quite nice with a lot less stress.....always a good thing.

Chrissy....I too hope you get some answers soon :)

And also i can't wait to see the pics of the wedding with all this beautiful work you've been doing. I don't know how your hands stand up to all the fiddling & cutting!

Melp....so happy for you that the 'puppies' are getting closer :) it's been a long wait for you & you must be getting excited!! I also hope that you find yourself in a nice enjoyable job soon.

Annette....a bit of a shock about your heart......I'd be having a few words with someone in your medical team to have it properly explained ((hugs)))

I've been feeling extremely tired lately....had all good scans & bloods last week so don't know what it is! I get so tired my eyes hurt! I've been sleeping around 9 or 10 hours a night & falling asleep on the couch in the arvo or evening. Don't know what it is but hope it rectifies itself sooner rather than later......sigh!

Anyway, hope all are well & take care lovely ladies.

Jenn - that job sounds ideal. Less travel and would be terrific. I would cross my toes if I could feel them but definitely all my fingers crossed.

Karen - sorry to hear you are battling fatigue. Sometimes emotional stuff (good and bad) causes our bodies to shut down and want to sleep as much as being physically tired. I really hope you get more energy back soon and can go baby clothes shopping.

I went to a work training night tonight and won an aromatherapy and massage kit as a lucky door prize. I feel very spoilt.

Jenn - hope you get the job.  I know what it's like to work in a toxic workplace, and after bc, it just isn't worth it! Will be keeping everything crossed for you xoxo

Chrissy - hope all goes well at the GI today!

Karen - not sure what to suggest about the tiredness.  Stress of leading up to scans finally taking its toll maybe?  Have you been like Aly and Chrissy - and just doing too much lol?
Kylie - lucky you - enjoy your prize - you deserve it!

Very, very cold here in Canberra this morning - snow on the higher ground around us.  It's almost certainly snowing at our old home in Michelago, hope the new owners enjoy it.

Im sitting in McDonald's enjoyed a bacon and egg mcmuffin........yum! Its so long since I had one I decided to treat myself. Thats gone now for the coffee.......smells divine and just what I need on a chilly morning in Adelaide. I think I must gave woken up smart this morning as my first appointment is about five minutes from where I am now and if I had waited and gone direct from DDs I would now be sitting in bumper to bumper traffic.......not my idea of a relaxing morning.

Jenn keeping my fingers crossed you get the call back for a face to face interview. Sounds like a change if job would do you a world if good.

Karen go to a Naturopath and get yourself some Adaptan. It is an adrenal support and works wonders for your energy and well being. Because we are on constant harsh meds our adrenals are put under enormous stress and the Adaptan really helps.

Talking of meds, its time I took mine. Have a great day all!
