Oh I did enjoy my breakfast at Maccas......lol. Annette, I don't know about the googie pie but it sounds good.

My visit to the naturopath was very fruitful and very expensive........but the time I renewed all my tabs I get from her plus the $65 for her consultation fee I ended up paying $280..........ouch! My purse is in pain..........lol.......not to mention my bank account. I will keep paying as I feel so much better since I have been going to her.

I have of late been feeling really weird in the head but not all the time. I even texted my doc about it and will see him on the 2nd Sept as he is away until then........anyway, my naturopath picked up something and said I should ask my doc to order either a CT or MRI.......mmmm, not really what I wanted to hear .......oh well that's for next month.

The GI doc was good as I expected......biopsies clear and nothing other than very active and extensive diverticulitis and irritable bowel. That I can deal with at least there are no nasties.......yay!!

Must go and make some food for DH and I as I'm beginning to hungry!

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Annette even with the name change, I can't say I've heard of them.........I agree though, $4 is a little steep for a pie!

Chrissy - glad the GI went well!

I got a face to face interview! Monday at 8.15am. I have an ex colleague (friend) that already works there. She loves it and has messaged me to say she told the guy interviewing me how great I am :-)

I only have to give 2 weeks notice where I am. At this point they dont deserve more...

If this job doesnt come off I'll start sending my resume for other ones.

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling the best Chrissie. Hopefully some answers soon. Hugs.

Yay Jenn, that is great news.

Midnight I googled Georgie pie. It is a New Zealand pie, square with steak, mince and cheese. Looks yummy, apparantly the new Maccas ones have no MSG!

Wow Jenn! Glad you have someone on the inside and good luck for the interview on Monday.........that is awesome!

Kylie, I don't feel bad at all, just get these weird little turns every now and then but I do always like to know what is going on with the inner me so I will be getting them checked out for sure.

OMG! Talk about sleep in! I rolled over to check the clock and it told me to get out of bed! It was 12.30pm! OMG! OMG! How lazy is that.........lol. Now I'm up it time to go do some work........there is a list a mile long of things to get done in the next six weeks and either buying an outfit for me or making one is getting pretty close to the top of that list.

I didn't realise how big my arms have gotten with the lymphadema until I tried a couple of dresses on yesterday. The dress would have fit well and they were both very nice but the sleeves?.........well they felt like elbow gloves as that is as far as they went! Nope, couldn't even get them any further up the arm with out putting too much stress on the seams so I'm thinking I'm going to have to pull out my old dress makers dummy and get cracking making something that will fit me, my shape and my arms.

Still wish I could just walk into a shop and buy one............blah!!!!!!!!

    Love n hugs all! Chrissy

you obviously needed that Chrissy. hope you had some sweet dreams.

Kylie, they sure  are nice . we had one the other day, when they first  came out. its quite ironic that they come out now. with the new prince, lol i think that would be coinidence actually. well the royals did not have the named planned and nobody would of known over here to start georgie pie off at this time, just same timing.. my dogs are being really naughty, so better feed them. . shut them up. bye for now.

Hi all, glad to read everyones comments and see a place that feels safe and comforting!

Im recovering ok, today is one week post op for my Lx and total duct excision, with a lot of the swelling going down im starting to see just how much it is different! Im off the pain meds and mostly up and about (feeling kind of useless and bored not being at work).

When it all began for you's, how did you tell people etc.

I got a phone call tonight from a cousin that I was extremely close to growing up but we've grown apart as our lives moved on etc she was devastated and crying because of all ive gone through, and wanted to know why I hadnt told her about it... I just said I was keeping it quiet until I went to my post op check on Tuesday... but I havent really told many people at all... I dont want to sound like a drama queen etc... I know it is a big deal, I have a third of my breast missing but well, you know? :/

Beccc I usually started a sentence with ' I'm really sorry but I have some news that will keep me in treatment for a while..........I have breast cancer.........'

At that point there were a lot of questions thrown at me and I would just tell them what happened and then reassure them I was doing everything I could to make sure I was a survivor.

You will get a range of emotions on your behalf as well as some people pulling away from you as they are unsure how to react to your news. People will ask what they can do for you etc but just tell them that you will keep it in mind and if you should need chemo etc you would appreciate the odd meal being prepared for you or someone to throw the broom and duster around your home. You will get some who are true to their word and others will seem to disappear.

Anyway, it's really good that you are recovering so well. Take the time to read a good book while you have time off or go for a shopping trip and a coffee with a friend or family member..........just take advantage of your quiet time.

    Take care.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Hi Becc, it is hard to decide what to tell people. I actually asked my family to tell everyone necessary as it just made me cry to talk about it. Still does sometimes. I used to try and minimise it, but now I say it was 'bl**dy awful' because I personally feel BC is dismissed as 'the easy or good cancer' and I don't think it should be treated that way. You need to do what you feel comfortable with. x

I don't know much about duct excision, I did a search and am still a bit confused. Try and rest and relax, you have been through a lot.

I feel a bit like you Becc.....don't want to seem like a drama queen!!

I told my immediate family & close friends (& of course my bosses at work) & left it at that....word gets around!

As Chrissy said, some will be wonderfully supportive & some will pull away but you learn to accept that.

Just go with your gut feeling, you'll know when it's right to tell someone or just let it go.

Take it easy & enjoy your time off work.....I haven't worked for a year now & absolutely love it. Don't know how I had time to work....lol.

On a good note, I'm off to the baby & pregnancy show today with my daughter. Not sure what to expect but it was suggested I take a trailer.....lol.

    Have a good weekend everyone.

Becc, i got my mum to tell the  people who needed to know, like family as i got sick of repeating myself. some of the friends have dropped off and when i do see them, they say how are you doing. they seem to change the subject and look all around them.like they did their duty and asked, but i don't really want to to hear what you have to say or interupt and ask you if you have heard about somebody or seen such and such and rush off, had that done to, and some of the church people use as their biggest exit, i will continue to pray for you, and i laugh as when i have told somebody, they have said, oh man, i did not know that, nobody told me. and  then its, I will continue my praying about this for you. when they want a quick exit. But some do care and those ones i will share, if they ask and i know that they are listening as they are looking at me when i am telling them and ask things and dont look all around them to see if there is somebody who could rescue them from having to endure what they listening to. i used to get upset. but i don't worry now.so just tell  who you think is more important to you,  love Annette xxxx

All the best for interview. jenn xx

Hello Becc - good to hear from you, I was wondering how you were going!  Take it easy - I know you feel bored now, but you do need to give your body a chance to recover.  If you are feeling, really, really good - perhaps see if you can go back part time, to see how you go?

I told everyone lol.  Well I told a few people and word just got round.  When I had to have chemo, I didn't bother to hide it.  I needed all my strength to get through treatment, and if people knew what was going on, then I didn't have to put on a "brave" face.

Jenn - keeping everything crossed for you on Monday - go get 'em girl!!

Chrissy - you must have needed that sleep, so don't worry about it.  I'm sure you'll be able to whip up something absolutely gorgeous for yourself, you are just too clever.

Karen - at least you weren't told you need a truck! lol

Annette, love reading your posts as usual xoxo

I'm off to start getting the veggies ready to go into the oven, port roast tonight :-)

    Trish

    xoxo

    Hi all!

What a lazy Saturday! Yay! Love it! I have done absolutely bl***dy nothing except sit on my ever spreading behind and watch tele. I had so many things recorded I was running out of space.........lol. Uh oh, the cat is yelling at me, she either wants me to light the fire or food.......seems that's all that is on her mind of late......can't say I blame her as she is close to 21........oh yeah, O L D! For a cat.

Trish you just reminded me I should head down to the kitchen and start my pork bellies.........they need to be crisp on top and melt in your mouth for the rest and that takes a couple of hours slow cooking. Think I'll just serve them on a bed of mash with some greens and apply sauce on the side........mmmmm........heading for the kitchen as my mouth is now watering........lol

Karen, leave the credit card at home then there is no need for either trailer or truck.....hahahaha! Sure, sure.........lol

Mmmm and my mouth is watering too lol. just a pity i can only enjoy the thought and imagination, i have pork chops for tomorrow night.  anyway enjoy girls, am sure you will. lol

Annette those pork bellies were delicious!  Both hubby and I made pigs of ourselves......get it?.....pigs?......yeah well I did try a funny even if it didn't work......lol......but dinner was very yumm and hubby has agreed to let me cook that again......lol.  His usual question when he comes through the door is 'what are you cooking?'  I guess that's because he never knows what will come out of the kitchen and quite honestly neither do I.  I have a habit of just wandering in there and seeing whats in the fridge, freezer and pantry and slapping something together.

Time for me to hit the hay.....I have a blinder of a headache tonight......maybe too much tele today.....lol.

    Love n hugs all!.     Chrissy

Annette I do think it was too much tele yesterday as I'm fine this morning and good thing too as I have loads to do wrecking my kitchen! Well not the whole kitchen but a huge set of shelves that runs the length of one wall as I'm putting a small combustion heater in and need to move them. I need to get this done by next weekend as a friend is coming to stay to install it for me so the space better be ready........lol.

I love parrots but they are way too noisy for me......lol.......hope yours quiets down soon.

    Have a great Sunday all!

Hi all. A very busy Sunday here. On duty at church I was the reader today and as the person helping DH on collection wasn't there I did that but my best duty was helping with a baptism.Hannah just six weeks old and beautiful. She cried when the water poured on her but cuddled down in my arms when I took her into the congregation during the Blessing.

Then I worked on the quilt I am trying to finish for DD2 in Canada. Found an obvious mistake so with help of my sister we unpicked and now all is well. It was too obvious to leave.

We had fun putting in almost 500 safety pins last night.

Now I had better get sorted out as cousins are coming for dinner but we are cheating and getting chinese.

Alyson what a beautiful quilt. I have a small throw quilt in similar colours which my Mum made and I just love it.

We have had a nice weekend. Ate too much yum cha yesterday and spent most of today at the beach (lots of sunscreen). I love this time of year, sunny but not too hot.

gosh Kylie, pretty wet today.here. certainly not beach weather. enjoy your day.

Alyson, what a choice quilt, wow. you are clever too with your sewing.

we went and collected our sheep that have been grazing at orchard, gosh, i am not quick like i used to be, slow old Annie. trying to keep up with Hubby as he  walking down race way. i cannot do it. my body refuses to let me keep up. i feel so useless. i can't believe i have got to this point, i am going to the gym. i thought i would of been better. quite depressing, i used to be so good with those dam sheep. you would think i was about 80. excuse the moaning, but i was shocked at my lack of movement or mobilty

better go and turn hubbys blanket on.  well his side.  love and leave you for now.

Annette, don't be hard on yourself.......we all are like that since the BC dx. I can't even run anymore at all! That's not just BC but knee replacement as well. I just give myself dudes when I can stand straight with my shoulders back.........standing tall as that hasn't happened for a long while and it's just starting to come back. Pat yourself on the back for surviving and living each day as it comes.

Interview went REALLY well - but... They have 2 candidates including me. They wanted someone with experience, and that would be me however their pay scale for the job is below what I currently earn. So they have to pick and I'll know by Friday.

Would you be happy with the pay drop Jenn? Sometimes employers are loathe to do that as they can feel it can lead to resentment of the job by the new employee. Anyway, keeping my fingers crossed for you.
