Awe Jenn I'm so sorry to hear of the added problems with your mum. I know you are struggling with enacting the enduring power of attorney but at this point it is the best way to safe guard her and see that she is cared for. It is so hard to come to term with your loved ones loss of themselves. Hoping the move goes well today as well as your presentation and you don't have too much shifting of things tomorrow.
Trish I've got my fingers crossed that all goes well with your doc today......here's hoping you are definitely in that 80%! And yes, you are a bad girl for going to Dr Google but I do understand......lol......the temptation just becomes too great. Those pics are great! Oh yeah, I thank you for all your organisation for that fantastic weekend!
Annette, its about time that your BIL stood up for your hubby! and that bloke at that depot needs to get some manners! Thank goodness you are almost out of there!
Aly, sounds like you are having a very busy time in Canberra!
Mandy how are you pulling up after our gadding about and your busy day on Monday?
No wonder my bones are achy! Once again we have had a twenty degree drop in the ambient temperature! Don't get me wrong. I much prefer the cooler weather but twenty degrees overnight? now that's getting a little hard to take. I just wish the weather would decide if it's going to be spring or summer and not both! Oh well, at least it is nice and cool to go for a wonder up to the gallery to check on sales.....lol......not likely but possible.
Have a good day all and Trish I'm on tenter hooks waiting to hear.
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
Find myself checking here and refreshing every few minutes to see if Trish has posted. Fingers, toes and eyes all crossed hoping for good news.0 -
Good news! Just goes to show you don't get your results read out to you on the phone by a nurse! The lesion was only 4mm not 2cm! So - will be watched and I'll have another scan in 6 months or so to check that it's not the start of a whole heap of them starting.
But - that means we still don't know what's causing my other symptoms, so, in January I'll have a colonoscopy and endoscopy (?) to see what's causing my bowel problems and heartburn. If they come up with nothing, then I'll have a laparoscopy.
She's monitoring my liver and kidney function as there are a few not quite right readings there, but she's not overly concerned about them yet.
So - apart from still having pain and the symptoms I had on Saturday, I'm happy. In January, maybe the tests will show something that can be fixed.
Thanks for all your support girls - you are the best.
Trish

Oh thank god Trish. So glad for this news. I too did the Dr Google and saw that some of your symptoms might be attributable to a liver lesion - like the bloating and pain etc.
So so glad for you and your hubbie hun.
Lots of hugs and love0 -
Oh Trish did you hear? I just let go of the breath I had been holding since Friday........nothing definitive but at least it's not as bad as you thought. It's good that your doc is still willing to keep searching for the cause of your pain and discomfort........I do hope she has prescribed some stuff to keep you comfortable until everything is known. ((((((hugs)))))) I know you will have sighed with relief when you heard from your doc.
Take care of yourself and don't push yourself too much.
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
Trish - it might be a cyst - I had one when I had my original CT scan.
Off to NZ tomorrow

Hi all
Karen I've been feeling tired and sore, I went to the shops today and saw everyone at work and did some shopping. I'm going to the hospital tomorrow to the dressings clinic, I've had a bit of pain so I will ask the Nurse's tomorrow, it seems to be where the drain was.
The photos look great, looks like you all had a good time.

Trish, that is great news, indeed. However, I do hope that they can fix your problems, and soon! Also, thank you so much for putting the photos up... they are all brilliant!.
Jenn, I have also been thinking of you today as I know that you are moving (and working away from home as well). However, you don't need issues with your mum on top of all that. You have a good head on your shoulders and a wonderful disposition, and I certainly don't want to be in your shoes at the moment, but we all know that sometimes "we have to be cruel to be kind".It must be so much more difficult with her being interstate as well, but you know that what you are doing is the right thing and her safety and well being is of utmost importance.
Chrissy, I am still moving forward (lol). I picked GD1 (Olivia) up from Adelaide on Monday afternoon and I have just returned her back to Adelaide late this afternoon again after taking mum shopping (and cutting her fingernails and toenails etc). I got home at 7pm today. The oncologist is happy that one of my side effects has disappeared (diarrhoea) and he suggested to change the frequency of Xeloda to 14 days on and 14 days off, so I will start doing what you suggested and change it to 12 days etc.The results of my tumor markers showed 31 which is NORMAL - wahoo!!
Cheers

Sitting surrounded by boxes.
Trish - I am so happy for you :-)
Jenn0 -
Aussie please don't try to do too much to begin with as you will make yourself very sore. Even though the outside is healing well the inside is going to take a whole lot longer.
Mandy.....yay!!!!! for your marker results.......that is fabulous!!!! I'm so glad you are getting good results with the Xeloda. Happy Dancing for you girl!!!
Judy glad to hear that the wedding went off without a hitch........makes for a great sigh of relief at the end of the day. Look forward to getting to meet you at next years get together.
Awe Jenn........as long as you can make your bed tonight and get a good nights sleep things won't be quite as bleak in the morning. Try not to overdo as you will only end up doing yourself a mischief.
Sue how are you? Haven't seen you on the boards for a while and miss you.
I'm off to make a cuppa before heading for my bed. Have a good night all!
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -

Chrissy, hope you have recovered from your weekend and yr voice has come back to normal. lol. my champayne is over for awhile, maybe do it again when BIL is out and we are outta there all together. apparently the Masterton guy did not get back til nine last night, that was the biggest run as they has two hours to travel there and back, but they should of had him there for a week learning off hubby how to load that truck. and have proper truck equipment, a trolley, i feel sorry for him, we put our one down there not knowing it and empolyed a person to help him from that area, and Greg said it was like a gift from heaven as he did not know the town and this guy knew all the bussiness and streets, a reall local and that gave him some christmas money too. Lol greg said one day when he did not have warren, this guy on the street, teenager asked him for a smoke as he was doing a delivery and Greg said, if you come and help me today doing the deliverys, i will buy you a packet and lunch and the guy did and he got what was promised and very happy and said, he would like to do it again, but without the lunch etc, he will get his own, but greg made work for it and the guy enjoyed it, Hubby said , he would not usually encourage that, but been last two weeks, what the hell. we kept that from BIL, he would of been a drama queen. lol see ya lol

Trish, good news and glad to read that things are being followed up. You seem to be in good hands now.
Also, great photos Trish! We did have fun but the weekend does seem like a long time ago.....
Jenn, so sorry to read about your Mum. The tyrany of distance makes it very hard for you.
Karen, wonderful to read that you and Kerry are doing so well....wonderful....0 -
Hi all
I went to the Dressings Clinic and saw a doctor while I was there, she said there was no infection so the pain is just the inside I suppose healing. I didn't have the pain as much last time as I suppose as the expander was expanded each week it was only uncomfortable. The implant is bigger than the expander so that's probably why it's sore.
I'll have to see how I go next week and maybe ask work when I go back that doing checkouts for 3 whole days will be too much for me. The last 2 surgeries I've had 6 weeks off this time I'm only having 3 weeks.

Aussie drains are the pits - I ended up with one for two weeks, and it was really uncomfortable, feeling for you xoxo
Jenn - how's the new place going? Were you able to find anything yesterday? I know when you came to Canberra on Wednesday, the weather was pretty horrible, so hot and windy. Yesterday was the exact opposite - it was only 2 degrees yesterday afternoon at around 6ish and there was snow showers on the Brindabellas! What weird weather.
Chrissy - have you recovered yet?
Mandy, that's great news about your tumour markers! Yay!!! Take care of yourself ok? Don't forget to PM me your address please!
Kylie - you were missed, at least you got to cuddle a baby :-)
I'm doing ok - I have had a couple of bad days again this week, but also a couple of good days, so all in all not too bad.
Tomorrow will be busy for us. We are doing the photography for two same sex weddings. Two girls first and then two guys. They are both such sweet couples, the guys are flying in from Adelaide and the girls are driving up from Wagga.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Trish

Hi all
Annette I have just realised that I haven't been as sore today but I have been quite tired, I haven't been sleeping as well as I normally do.
Happy Birthday Chrissy.
They have just opened a Bunning's here so I went their yesterday and of course spent some money as it's one of my favourite stores. There's a Master's just across the road as well so I'm very lucky.
I'm going to be like Annette and tell everyone my real name, but you all have to guess??? Chrissy you probably remember from the other chat site.
Your clue is..........Christmas...............?
Have Fun all

Carol, I was going to guess Noelle....probably because I have a brother Noel.
Where you born at Christmas time? People always asked my mother if Noel was born at Christmas (he was born in July) and she used to say "No, but he is Christmas to me".....
I asked DH to guess and he said Holly.
Racy good guess!0 -
I was still deciding, but Racy you are the clever one, i did think holly as well, for some reason carol did not come to me, lol , Hello Carol, welcome to the group. we know you as Aussie, but will welcome you as carol now. Hope you are ok and hope you had Fun at Bunnings. Well hope you all have a good day.
