Hi everyone, I have been reading the threads even though I haven't contributed lately. As usual, I am always out enjoying life with the family and my interests. I have been meaning to put up a photo of the grand daughters enjoying their tea parties at my place, thanks very much to Trish who was very kind in giving me her mother's tea set. Yes, Trish, the tea set gets used as soon as the girls arrive, even if I just have one, and they drink lots of water that day, lol. They are both toilet trained and that adds even more to the fun, lol.
Warm hugs

Oh Mandy they are so cute!! Love seeing little girls have tea parties..........so many miss out on that fun. Good to hear that you are doing well and loving life.........hope it stays that way for a very long time.
I'm enjoying the sunshine and cool weather. The rain finally stopped on Friday and it's been lovely, cool but lovely, since then. I almost lit the fire last night as it got really chilly but used a blanket instead........lol.
Hope the rest of you girls are having a great weekend!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Mandy what gorgeous girls So glad they love their tea set, it's lovely to see it getting used. I hope they drink lots and lots of water with it lol. Good to hear you are keeping busy and active too xoxo
Chrissy it's started to get cold here too. Friday was a very wet and miserable day, we were soooo glad to see the rain stop. Saturday was a glorious autumn day here as was yesterday, most of the day. We've already put the heater on a few days now - the nights are getting very cold, only 6 this morning!

Trish, we haven't been down that far yet but the other morning was 10 so I'm figuring it won't be long. As I left for the city this morning the fellow was at home busily installing the fire........just as well we looked inside as most of the fire bricks were broken so I'll get some while I'm in the city. I'm looking forward to pretty much the whole house being warm this winter not just the upstairs.......lol.
Well I'd better go as I'm going out to a Chinese Banquet with friends tonight for their wedding anniversary and need to get my glad rags on!
Take care all!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Kylie, not fun.... I hope you don't have to wait too long for your results (((hugs)))

Chrissy that's one thing I miss from the old place, is the wood fire. It makes everything seem warm, just by looking at it lol. I must say, though I do like being able to just press a button and have heat, instead of having to go collect twigs for kindling, setting it all up properly to light, and cleaning the ashes out every couple of days.
Kylie - ouch is right! You poor thing, keeping everything crossed for you - when do you find out?
Oh - and it was only 4 degrees this morning!
Trish

Trish, oh yes, there is definitely something about a wood fire that say to the brain warmth. I'm pretty efficient at lighting fires with very little as I've been doing for years.........lol........the fires I set take quickly and give heat really quickly so it doesn't take long to warm the room. My idea with this new one is to have it burning most of the time so the house stays at a fairly constant temp............we'll see if my ideas turn into fact........lol.
Dinner last night was delicious! I haven't had a Chinese Banquet for many years and had forgotten how good that variety can be.......lol. Must say the company was fun too and went back to my friends place for coffee after. I ended up getting back to DDs at 12.30pm so it was a late night after all.
Kylie keeping fingers crossed that you get good results!
Hi ya To the rest of you gals.......where you bin, you bin wheely quiet! (Sorry old wheel bin joke) but really how are you all doing?
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Hi girls, going to a diatician 14th may re diabetes, so i should learn something i guess. i get sick of appointments, but glad they are helping me.
our company has been officially closed up now, we have liquidators working with us, they are nice though, hubby met with them this morning and he and Bil will have to go to Wellington to talk to them next month. its quite stressful and scarey in some aspects, but we have not been operating as a company since november anyway, this is just the legal wind up. accountant that never did their job, the drivers that stole and had un necssary accidents all the time, the accountant did not do the gst or the books since 2010, they sat in a box in his office, we caught up on them, but not all the payments. it does not help to keep a company healthy. anyway not having a good week with all the stuffing around. so far, started last week. anyway hope all you girls are ok, Kylie OUCH and chrissy glad you had an enjoyable dinner. catch you all later.
Add on, you know that hubby had to go to transport agency this morning. to pick up some new gsl stickers( general service lisence stickers) for Bil's truck,, and he had to talk by phone siting in a booth, to somebody up stairs, cant see someone in person, its all;; technolgy and soon we will be examined by robots in a hospital, talk to them on a phone and if you are sick enough you may get some attention. depends who you are, if you work for the goverment dept's, you may be lucky.. its getting really idiotic. well i am going as i am not in the flahes of moods today and i dont want to put that on you girls. hugd

From Karen's daughter Nicole
Hi all, Nicole here, just a quick update for those who have been following mums journey and are worried due to not having seen her on Facebook for quite some time.
She isn't too well, on a new chemo which has sent her off with the fairies, she can no longer use her phone or Facebook and we struggle to hold a conversation with her. This chemo may be stopped due to this and she may get her wits about her again but I'm not sure she will and highly doubt she will be back on Facebook.
I will update you all as needed.

Thank you Chrissy, and Nicole.
I have been watching for any news of Karen. I am so sorry to hear about what she and your family are going through now.
We were all so excited for Karen to welcome the new baby into the family, I hope she is still feeling the joy of that new little one, even though she's not well.
Please give her my love and keep some for yourself...Moira

Hi Midnight, you have a right to be grumpy! So much going on with you. I am so sorry to read of your accountant betraying your trust like that and I remember the thieving truckies you had to put up with.
I hope things settle down for you now, that stress couldn't have been doing you any good. Take it easy..M

thanks ariom, it has cost company heaps in claims and insurance and the tax that we have to catch up on, well not now, as the company is no longer in existance, they will gave to thru the recievers, liquidators. they are the boss. its quite complicated.we are getting to the stage where we are saying , what ever??? we are seriously considering moving.selling the farm. selling this house and going somewhere else where we dont know anybody, middle of the island some where.infact its not if, its when. and start new again.will be a big move, but a good one. nothing holding us here, i will have to find new medical sevices tho, might be better. lol. and i will be more near family. whether thats good i dont know. lol
thanks Chrissy, for the up date on karen, poor love, my heart goes out to her and her family. / catch you later

I am sorry this has happened to you Midnight, but I have to say, I can recommend the move!
I know it's a huge undertaking, but we did it in July 2012. A 300km move to the Lakes District in Gippsland. I was Dx in the October, so I decided to stay here for surgery and treatment if I needed it. My friends were all mortified that I wouldn't go back to Melbourne for what they deemed, better treatment and surgery options. I researched the Hospital and my surgeon and couldn't have wished for a better team or a better Hospital. The other bonus is, no stress when I have follow ups or Mammos. It is a much slower pace and I actually get into my appointments on time.
It is a lot to take on, selling and buying, packing and moving, building or renovating. I know Trish did it too. For us, it was the best thing we have ever done, the lifestyle here is even better than we expected! All the very best! M

Chrissy and Trish, I am just sitting here, reading about your love of open fires. It is getting chilly and I am grateful to have touch of a button heat, but I did keep a gorgeous little "Jotul" wood heater in the family room that was here when we bought the house. I don't use it often, but when I do, I leave the door open and watch the flames, there is something primal about watching a fire.
I do miss being able to drive 5 minutes and be in an Asian restaurant precinct, I haven't been to Yum Cha for a very long time either, but it is one of my favorite ways to eat. It sounds like you had a great night Chrissy.

hi girls just got back from my Asian cruise of Bangkok Vietnam and Singapore. They are lovely people and so happy with so little. I was asking about their lifestyle habits and they said they eat fresh grown vergies twice a day from the market. They eat a little meat and small meals. I asked them about cancer and breast cancer and they said there is virtually none. I thought this very interesting . Midnight sorry to hear of your troubles but a fresh start could be wonderful for you and your family My heart is heavy to hear about Karen I am glad she got to meet her new little grandson before going downhill. Love to all Judy

Chrissy, thank you for the update from Kazzie's daughter. Wishing Kazzie the best possible.
Nice to read news from other ladies .

Ariom, you said it perfectly re Kazzie!
Delvsy, lovely to see your pic!
0 -
Yes, thank you Chrissy and Nicole for the update. I hope things get better for Karen and her family.
Delvzy, we have a lot to learn from other cultures....
0 -
Oh Delvsy. what a great picture. I love Asia!
When I was working, we had a training center in Hong Kong and I had a friend living in Singapore, so every time I could tack on some leave days, to a trip for work, I'd have a holiday in either place. I did a cruise some years ago from Sydney to Singapore and managed to see more of Asia and Vietnam. Fantastic!
Hi Racy, thank you! It is just so unfair, when this should be the happiest time for Karen and her family. It's just so terribly sad for everyone.

I had read Nicole's update on fb about Karen. It's so sad, I'm just glad she got to enjoy some time with her little grandson.
Delvzy - looks like you had a great time, that's wonderful to hear.
Ariom - yes loved the fire, but it was nice to get up at 5.30 this morning and just press a button and have the house almost completely heated within 10 minutes lol.
Last day of work today before having 10 days off! Yay!
Have a wonderful Easter everyone.

Hi Trish, have a wonderful break!
I have my daughter coming for 8 of her 10 days off, today. It's great when two holidays clash like this and it only takes 3 leave days to get 10 days off in a row!
I am doing a BIG garage sale on Saturday with my neighbor next door. We are in a tourist town and lots of people are arriving already for the Holiday. Hopefully I can move all the stuff I have had stuffed into cupboards since we moved here, whatever is left will be given away, it isn't coming back into the house!

Great thinking Ariom! Hope you get rid of everything!

Happy Easter to everyone. My thoughts are also with Karen and her family, I really appreciate the update.
Great photo Delvzy. Sounds like a fantastic holiday.
My biopsy results came back all clear, so yay.
I am heading down to the cold for Easter. I love the fire but not the getting of firewood. My daughter asked if I would take my thermomix so it is being packed carefully and seatbelted in. In trying to avoid any preservatives and additives, I just love that I can cook food from scratch so easily. (Nope not a salesperson) I definitely have improved my diet since bc.
Wishing everyone a wonderful long weekend. X

Happy Easter everyone

Hi girls!
Kylie what great news to get just before Easter........makes all the celebrating even more special!
I have had a quiet Easter this year.......good for me......lol. The kidlings came up on Saturday for the day and we went out to lunch so I didn't have to worry about extra beds and catering. I lit the new fire on Friday for the first time and it does do just what I hoped it would and warm not only down stairs but up as well.........so effectively that I had to open doors to cool the rooms down!.....lol. I'm happy about that as it means that once it gets really cold it will be able to cope well.....yipeeeee! I doubt that I will need to light the upstairs fire at all.
I bought some material to make a few new tops for myself as I can never find ones that allow for my big belly and the ones I have are really past their prime..........now all I have to do is draft the pattern and I haven't done that for a long while.......oh well, nothing ventured nothing gained and I do have to do something with the fabric.
Hope your weekend has been a lovely one!
Love n hugs. Chrissy
