    Great news Kylie!

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter!

Trish, the Garage Sale was amazing! There were cars everywhere and people lined up outside our gates, way before we opened. There were 6 of us, who were flat out serving, for the first couple of hours.

We sold almost everything for $2-$5 because we didn't want to have anything left. There wasn't anything going back, into ours, or the neighbors house.

The man who bought the Bocsh Hot water service for $1, as we were packing up, was ecstatic! The leftovers are going to the Op Shop on Thursday!

It feels great to have tidy cupboards and an empty Boat shed, which is my next reno project. Everything went on hold just after we moved in and I was Dx, then had the surgery. Time flies, but we are back on track now!

    Hi all

I hope that everyone had a great Easter. I've done some gardening and cleaning and some reading. Went to Dad's farm on Sunday with family.

A friend from work has been in hospital quite sick, luckily she is home now and my sister's friend died last week from her cancer. Not a very good year so far with illness and death. I suppose that's life.

I am applying for jobs as I start my new crap hours on Wednesday. I hate going to work now and putting money in their pockets.

I have had my 3 year old Grand daughter staying for a week and all the family came on Easter Day (Sunday). I had organised an Easter Egg hunt for GD and that was priceless!!! Everyone came for lunch and stayed for a few hours and the weather could not have been better. In the morning, I cooked a couple of chickens and made fried rice to go with it. I also made a fruit platter and a vegetable platter for nibbles in between. But for desert, we had pavlova and apple crumble with lots of cream, so there goes my alkaline diet, lol.

Yesterday, was my first day at home (alone) for a long time, as hubby went to mum's house to do some painting, and I just pottered around the house and took the dog for a nice long quiet walk by the beach.... bliss!!

I want to re organise a couple of rooms in the house today and then tomorrow I am off to Adelaide again for my lymph-edema treatment as my lower arm and hand are huge. I have trouble making a fist and also getting sleeves to fit my arm, so I might also have to think about doing a bit of sewing and making some new tops. I do have my knitting needles out at the moment for a nice jumper. My shoulder is starting to give me grief as well, and I think that may also be due to the lymph-edema.

Nice to hear that the garage sales were a success. We live in a dead end street and both neighbours  on either side of us and also diagonally across the road from us had garage sales this weekend and there were cars parked everywhere, so I guess they did alright, too as I haven't spoken to them yet.

Carol, good luck with your job hunting, and I really do hope that the rest of this year will bring you better luck and happiness ((hugs)))

    Warm hugs

Ariom sounds like a huge success, yay.

Carol good luck with job hunting. Fingers and toes crossed for you.

I hope everyone had a relaxing and pleasant Easter.

What does everyone feel about CT scans? My old onc liked them but not sure about my new one. I see him next week.

I think I would like to know of any problems early on, and it is such a relief when mammo comes back clear so I am thinking I would like one. It is 2.5 years since my last one.  Opinions please? X

Hi Mandymoo, the choice of weekend seems to have been a really good one for Garage Sales. There were a few on here and I know we got quite a lot of out of towners at ours. I dropped some stuff at the Op Shop and she was just inundated with donations, so it was either a good weekend for clear out or from other garage sales. Either way the the Oppie did well!

    Good luck with your treatment.

Hi Midnight, I hope you had a good weekend!

Carol, so sorry to hear of the loss of your sister's friend. I hope you can find a job where you are happy and appreciated. It is just so impersonal now, people aren't treated well in so many companies. It will eventually backfire on those companies, when the staff no longer feel the need to be loyal,  because of their bad treatment.

Kylie - yay!!! Great news Nerdy

Chrissy - your wood fire sounds great - enjoy, it will be great when the really cold weather hits. Mind you we've already had one morning here at 0!

Ariom - great that you were able to get rid of almost everything, it's a good feeling isn't it. I'm starting to clean out more "junk" here. We threw out so much when we moved here, and now we've been here almost 12 months it's time to throw out anything we haven't used in all that time. Should be a spring clean, but I tend to do it more in Autumn lol.

Having a lovely relaxing time - half way through my break now, and feeling quite relaxed. Actually feel a bit guilty that I haven't done as much as I think I should have. One thing I've been doing though is taking Finn down to the dog park. He is terrified of getting in the car and that was one thing I wanted to cure him of this break. I got him in the car eventually the first time, and he had a lot of fun at the park, we came back and about 5 hours later I took him down again. We've been a few times now, and he gets in and out of the car without any problems at all.  Glad that's solved. He's too big to pick up and put in the car now lol.

Here he is at the dog park. Hasn't he grown!! He'll be 12 months old in a week and a half.

    Trish

    xoxo

    Hi girls!

Yay for successful garage sales!  I was going to do one five years ago but then got the stage IV dx so it didn't happen......sigh.......guess what is still in my garage?......lol.  I have gotten rid of some of it but a lot has now got to go to the dump.   Mmmm another job, sort out the garage so I can put more stuff in there.....hahahahaha!

Carol good luck on that job hunting........I think employers give awkward hours so people will leave.  They have no reason to sack so they make the job not so good in order to force you to that decision.

Mandy, can I have some of your energy please?.......lol.  I will be in town for three days next week with the Wednesday free.  I was wondering if you have time would you like to catch up for a coffee?

Kylie, my doc scans if I present with symptoms.  I was having some pain in the liver area but thought it more to do with muscles but noooo, he has given me a referral for a CT even though I said I didn't want one........lol.  He said I have it in case I fell I need it or if the pain has not improved in two weeks.  They do try to balance the amount of radiation as scanning too often can cause its own problems.   Considering you haven't had one for 2 and a half years but are well she may still not order one but if you explain you want it for peace of mind she may come to the party.   Good luck!

    Love n hugs all.     Chrissy

Hi Chrissy! I understand about  putting off the garage sale, but I have to say that the relief for me, is amazing. It is a huge job and I couldn't have done it, without my Daughter and the next door neighbors being involved too.

I am going to try to only buy what I need, because I don't want to have to do it all again. I still have lots of clothes for Ebay that I didn't put out for the garage sale, and plan to just do a manageable 10 or so a week.

Trish, what a beautiful dog, and hasn't he just grown so fast! Glad you've had some relaxation time.

Kylie, I don't have any experience with CT scans for cancer, but I had several to watch a nodule in the lung. I understand your wanting to keep a check on everything.

    Take care..M

lol yes  thanks Ariom, i had a quiet weekend, watched movies, lol disney family ones, Benji the little dog and  it was good to do,LAZY. but good, was raining alot, so it was good, nice to have that break away from the crap  life throws you at times. relax the mind.

Wow  trish, he is a beauty.  lovely colour and a big boy. and takes alot of energy i guess, do you take him of does he take you lol for the walk.

chrissy, i believe its called constructive dismissal,  they make things really awkward for you, so you get cheesed off and leave and  find every excuse to growl about something and then   you get really  annoyed and tell them to stick it and then say you abandoned  your employment and  not pay you what they should. believe me i see it alot with that firm we work for, well BIL,  some workers  you want to see walk out, but others have left that shouldn't. and  can  take them to court over it, Anyway catch you later. bye

    Trish, beautiful photos of Finn!

Kylie, I have only had scans if they suspected something may be amiss.  Sorry I can't be more helpful.

    Hi all

Yes I have a feeling that they are trying to get rid of Fulltime workers but I think it's all ready backfired on them the way they treat staff because they find it hard to get Manager's.

Glad that everyone had a good Easter

Hi Ladies, i never post here but read very regularly.

Hi Previvor, my mom used to always make a good hearty beef stew on Anzac day and we always had damper with it.  Damper is yummy straight out of the oven and easy to make.  We used to put butter and vegemite on it or use it to sop up the gravy from the stew.  Enjoy your Anzac biscuits!

I'm so sorry to hear about Gail passing.  Thank you Kerrie for letting us know.

Aly I looked but there were a lot of my emoticons missing :(  mmmm I just checked and they are back....yay!!!!

    Hi all

Sorry to hear about Gail as she is a regular on www.bcaus.org  another site I go on.

I'm watching "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", haven't seen it in years.

Hope that everyone has a good Anzac day

Thinking about what those Anzacs went through. I wish everyone a relaxing long weekend.

The outlook here is sunny and the water is like glass, no wind, but it is only 4c! There are a couple of yachts and kayaks leaving trails across the water, and the Pelicans are coming back! I have notice more and more over the past couple of weeks, I love them and am always in awe when I get up in the Winter and there are 60 or more right in front of the house.

I am so sorry to hear the news of Gail's passing. Another family and friends feeling the loss of a loved one. So very sad.

Well, I have one more day and night with my Bec, she has already changed her return ticket till tomorrow, to give her another night here. She has had a great time and a well earned rest, but I can't believe how fast the time has gone.

Aussie, I haven't seen that movie in years either. My Husband worked in the theatre when the Rocky Horror Show was on in Melbourne, during his Uni years. Great stories about the after show parties! LOL

Chrissy, you just reminded me of my Mother's stew and instead of the Damper, she was a Scot, she would make squares of puff pastry in the oven and we would have one of these on the side just sitting slightly in the gravy. It was a sensational meal!

    All the best to everyone!

I'm so sad to hear about Gail's passing, thanks Kerrie for letting us know.

Chrissy - good on your DGS, there are so few of the old guys left now, it's good to see the family carrying on the tradition.

Ariom - enjoy your last day with Bec Smile

Racy!  Good to see you - how are you going?

Annette - I was wondering about Karen too - she's been on my mind a lot lately. Not sure about the tragedy in Coffs Harbour?? It's on the mid north coast of NSW - are you sure you aren't thinking of Port Arthur? Down in Tasmania where there was a mass shooting?  Damper is a type of bread, baked over a campfire usually, but more often baked at home in ovens now too - it's a flatter type bread.

We are having a relaxing ANZAC day - just remembering. I can't watch too much of the services though, get too emotional.

Hi girls!  Before I continue, just to let you know,  Karen  is still with us.  She just posted on a stage IV support group that I also belong to.  She made no comment on how she was only that she was surrounded by family.

Annette, damper is like an unleavened bread made with flour, salt a bit of fat and water and is usually baked in a camp oven or the coals of a camp fire but can be done in the oven.  It's dense and delicious but doesn't keep.......the next day it is usually like a rock!

Just having a quiet one today as tomorrow we are going to my DHs friends birthday party about an hour away so it will be a very late night.

    Enjoy you day all!

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy

Annette; damper is just the same as Maori bread if you have had that though we always had damper when camping but then I was a Girl Guide.

We have had a great ANZAC Day. Went to the service out at a little country village where DH grew up and where he belongs to the Historical Society. Very moving. Then this evening went to concert called War and Peace which DD1 was singing - she is  solo sopranoand one of the best in the country -
