hello GoDees and a warm welcome to this wonderful group. I am also from South Australia and only pop in to say hello now and again, but I love reading the posts, lol.
I have my appointment at RAH tomorrow for a bone scan and then next Friday a CT scan for head and body to see how everything is going. Blood test also next week for Tumor markers. Then Oncologist appointment on 13th October, so my mind is wandering every now and then and also I am keeping positive with plan A, plan B, plan C etc. I am still feeling very well, except for this dreaded cold that has been hanging around for the last 5 weeks, but now that the warm weather is here, I am sure that I can shake it off.
I hope everyone else is going well and enjoying some spring weather for a change.
Warm hugs
Mandy xxxxx

My dragon boat club had a write up in the local magazine..
Unfortunately, I wasn't there that day for the pic but it was great publicity for what we do and for our plan to attend the international breast cancer paddling in Florence in 2018!
I'm saving now 😉

Hi all
Midnight she doesn't look 82, more like in her 60's. I would never do that, not even if I was paid !!!

Some how or other I had removed this thread from my favorites! Damn I hate it when that happens!
Annette your mum is awesome! I'm nowhere near her age but you still wouldn't get me jumping out of a plane!
Trish, congrats girl on getting to that five year mark!! Now to aim for the ten!
Still hacking our way through France and having a ball! I'm so very tired but keep plodding on as I can rest (for a while) when I get home.

Hey ladies, just an update on my current status.
I saw my latest Onc today and was very pleased to be told that my liver stats are dropping at the moment. They have gone from 800 to 500I know it's not perfect but any drop is good news when you are stage 4. For a comprehensive update see the 'how are people with liver mets doing' thread.
Hope you are all travelling this road as well as can be.
Sheila

Hi Chrissy, sounds like your trip is fulfilling all your expectations for you both...I know I am enjoying your travel vicariously almost as much as you are.
During the consult, he actually showed me all the numbers, telling me that they were all 5 times higher than what's normal. I am having that major blood test they do every so often before my next consult in 4 weeks along with a liver scan...so we will have a clearer picture of lesion shrinkage etc,. I will have all my fingers xed that day, believe me.
Sheila.

I'm glad you're enjoying my trip.......lol......I was hoping to bring a few friends with me.
I'll be keeping everything crossed that your scan shows good lesion shrinkage but your markers are alreading showing that your treatment is working for you and that's a great thing.

I just found this thread for us Aussie girls and would like to join in discussions. I am from Sydney and was diagnosed in July 2014 with bone mets. I had never heard of bone mets and before surgery the biopsy showed no lymphovascular or perineural invasion, so the surgeon did no scans and I asked for a mastectomy, and am glad I did as 22/29 lymph nodes were hiding out, then I had scans which showed bone mets. But two months ago I had scans which showed that the bones had healed according to my onc. But does anyone know the reason for my 15.3 rising to 240 if my bone mets have healed. My organ scans were clear. My onc changed me from femara to tamoxifen and I see him next week, and I am scared about these tumour markers. Also I am scared of treatments running out as I knew nothing of breast cancer and thought that it was one thing I was safe from as I had all the mitigating factors.

Welcome to our cancer world Sarah, not one any of us have willingly joined.
I was dxed w/ bone mets 7 yrs ago and after 2 yrs of Arimidex they all but disappeared until scans showed progression and then I was put on Aromasin. After that I was put on Femara which had a very short run until I was dxed w/ liver mets. Last year, they tried Tamoxifen again which I hadn't had since '95 when first dxed but it did nothing for them so they stopped after 3 months. I wouldn't worry yet about your options running out as you still have a few left and the longer the mets can be held at bay the more chance the researchers will come come up with a new radical treatment...something we all live in hope of happening.
Sheila.

Hi Sarah, I'm a bone mets girl as well......was dx back in 2009. I'm allergic to Tamoxifen so was put on Arimadex but has some progression after fifteen months so was changed to Femara and have been on it ever since. My scans show NED (no evidence of disease) at the moment so it can happen to stage IVers.
Hang in there as there are loads of treatments available so don't fret on that score and, they are coming up with new ones all the time.
Love n hugs. Chrissy
