There are two apartments that would be ok - one is Pinnacle Apartments or Medina Apartments. I've seen the inside of both, and they are ok - I've linked them to their respective websites. They are both cheap enough too. Although, it depends on how many we have coming as to whether we need 2 or 3 bed apartments. Racy usually has her own room.

I will stay both the Friday and Saturday nights, happy to share :-)

Just checked out the links......thanks for that Trish. I'm happy with either one so it really depends on our numbers. Tammy and Racy like their own rooms but im happy to share with whom ever.

Medina would be my preference (hi everyone) as it has King size beds and an indoor and outdoor pool. Happy to share a 2bdrm apt with someone so I can have a King bed. Yes. I'm spoiled... we don't have one at home so I LOVE having one to myself when I go away.

went in to get a drain done on my fluid yesterday at hospital. Turns out I had to stay in overnight because they couldn't do it on same day. So today I did have a huge drains tube with a bag attached put into my stomach. My god when it was all in it hurt like a m fucker!! I could hardly breathe it hurt so much. Once got back to ward, I got injection of pain meds as I chucked up the tablets. I bawled my eyes out.

Mel sorry to hear that you had to go through all that pain. Hopefully the procedure should help.

I still haven't heard yet when I am getting my surgery. Unfortunately it may be a few weeks as I'm going Public Hospital.

had a full body home scan today. The drain has drained allot of fluids out. Definitely looks less bloated! Seeing as they wont have all results until next week so I will be getting treatment plan then instead of Friday.

Hi ya Mel! So glad to hear that you are more comfortable and that the drain has done a good job of getting rid of the fluid for you.

I sure hope that the treatment plan is a good one and you get all the results early in the week so you can get on with it.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Hi all. I ended up in hospital on Wednesday after being really sick. I had surgery Thursday. Had my ovaries out and part of my bowel. Have got to have a colonospy bag for a few months. It was bowel cancer. Not feeling too good but getting there. Will update you when I can. Carol.

Oh damn Carol! Not expected at all but very glad you are on the recovery side of surgery. So I am assuming that the cancer is another primary and not a met from the BC.........this is sort of good news if that is the case as treating the bowel cancer is a little simpler than a met.

Yes, please do let us know how you are travelling and results of any tests. Keeping everything crossed that you recover well with a minimum of pain and discomfort.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Carol, not happy to hear your news, but as Chrissy says, if it's a new primary and not a met, it might be a little easier to treat.

My brother had bowel cancer at the same time as I had bc, and I know he hated changing the bag, then there were the times when it leaked ... not very nice. Sending you ((((hugs)))). There will be lots of foods you won't be able to eat too - like tomatoes and strawberries, all those little seeds tend to block the bag. They should go through all the foods with you though.

I've started a new job. I'm now a contractor with the Federal Public Service - yes - I'm actually a Public Servant! Never thought I'd say those words. To say some things are frustrating is an understatement lol. I'm having to learn to curb my incredulity at some of the processes, but the people I'm working with are lovely, and the work is interesting. It's all worked out quite well actually, the work I did for the past four years built up a speciality that the gvt now needs, so I'm their "specialist" and helping set up a new team and work and to understand the system that I worked in until the gvt decided it wasn't needed any more and cut funding. It's being done by volunteers and public servants now lol.

    Love to you all

    Trish

Hi Aussie, hoping you are fully recovered soon. It must be really hard for you going through a second cancer. Please keep letting us know how are doing. We care.

Lol Trish! We will have to compare notes about the Ps. Good on you for getting the job!

Looking forward to catching up with y'all.

had meeting on Friday. Thought it was ovarian cancer but its a recurrence from the bc. Is in my ovaries and still congestion on my lung. The doctors want to treat with femara and zoladex first to shrink the tumours and reduce pain. So for now no chemo! Usually takes four weeks to start working so will reconvene in a month to see how I'm going.

I'm stoked for not having to go to chemo straight away but still not thrilled.

Taking things one day at a time. They are looking to control things at the moment

Dear melp, Femara is a great drug for ILC so hopefully it should work well for you. It sounds like your doctors are on the ball. You will need to be prepared for menopausal symptoms, especially hot flushes. But there is a drug for that too lol. If they bother you, ask your doc about Efexor.

Aussie, I hope things get better for you.

Melp is right - take one day at a time. God bless you both.

    Hi all

I got out of hospital yesterday, I am still quite tired but feeling a lot better. A Silver Chain Nurse came today and will be back for the next 2 days, Thursday I will be getting my staples out. I have an appointment with the surgeon next Tuesday so will find out then the pathology and when chemo will start.

    Hope that everyone is well.
