Well, the hair survived a wash. It smelt funny when I was washing it though. I got out my dryer (not used for many years) and just blew it without a brush. It looks great!! Some of my natural wave is coming in, so I look like I used to - it's totally perfect!!!

Well my all time favourite is 'An Affair to Remember'  but I think it is probably copyrighted.

So...  A Fine Affair Photography perhaps, or Defining Moments, or Keepsakes Photography?

Sorry, my creative juices have been taken up with these flowers. The Lotus's actually look more like lettuces Undecided.

Kate, I like your first 3 suggestions.

Trish, what is your business approach/market niche/competitive edge and what market are you targetting? Your name should be catchy, appeal to your target market and reflect something of your businesse's values.

I don't suppose you have a business plan lol.

I am going to another French film this evening. It's a comedy/romance about a woman who is obsessed with Woody Allen.

Cautious optimism - I haven't taken a pain killer since early today - could it be I'm on the mend?? Don't want to speak too soon (touch wood). Still have an ache when I bend but not the sharp pain I've had. I thought he got a good response when he cracked that side yesterday.

Hair still looking good - nice big waves appearing which is what I used to look like.

Yay!!!  Finally home!!!!  What a busy couple of days and tomorrow is will be no different as I have to clean my house............yuk!!!  My niece is bringing the two cutest little munchkins to visit on Monday so at least the floors need to be done if nothing else.

Kate, I don't have an iPad (I wish....lol) but I am going to take the laptop and I have a mobile USB internet connection so I can still read and post what is happening on the boards.  It's already organized for my DD2 to bring it to me the day after the op along with a few other things.

Kate I sure wish I could see your Lotus flowers and pompoms they sound gorgeous!  The wedding colors will be stunning and can't wait to see some pics.......lol......that's assuming you want to share that is.  Sure glad you are starting to feel much better.

Jenn how are you feeling today?  Hopefully you are doing okay and your bad reaction was a once of.

Trish good luck with your business venture!  There are already some great suggestions and my mind is a total blank at the moment re names but I will think on it....lol.

Lyndal I'm with you about Woody Allen.....YUK!!!!.......lol

Hope everyone has a good night and a better day tomorrow!'

Sue I will be admitted on Friday 30th at 12.30pm and will be in theatre about 2.00ish.........so I've been told.  I chated with my sister today and got her input as she has had both hers done and I wanted to know an honest assessment from her.....and got it.........   She assured me that after a couple of weeks things will already be much better than what I have now and the major hurdle is getting the leg strength back up but physio deals really well with that.

I saw an elderly woman that lives at the same villiage as my mother today and she had hers done six weeks ago and she is already walking very well without support.  She only uses her walker if she has to walk a fair distance but that is more to do with her age than her knee so that is a good thing too.

All in all everyone that I have spoken to or seen that has had the knee or knees replaced have nothing but good to say about it.  I know that my aprehension is subsiding and Friday week can't come quick enough as I will be truly happy about getting rid of the constant pain.

Wow!  Great suggestions girls :-)  We will be aiming primarily at the wedding photogrpahy market, but also portraits and anything else that is needed.  I'll check out some of these names and see if they are already taken, we had a few great ideas, but they were already registered.

Sue - so glad to hear you are becoming optimistic about getting better, that's great news.

Kate - I too want to see these lotus's that look like lettuces lol the image that comes to my mind is quite funny lol

Racy - writing a business plan now, but it won't be finished for a few days yet - and Woody Allen??? Hmmm..  how anyone could be obsessed with him would take some explaining - it might be an interesting film lol

Chrissy - all I've heard from the few people I know who've had hip or knee replacements have all siad "why didn't I get it done sooner"  but can understand you'll be apprehensive about it.  We'll all be thinking of you - but you know that xoxo

Jenn - how are you today sweetie?  Hope the taxol is being gentle on you xoxo

I'm off to meet with a website designer this morning - she's a friend and such a creative person, so if we can ever decide on a name, she'll create something stunning.

    Love to everyone.

    Trish

    Hi all

Hopefully the pain free days will increase Suzi. I watched Mad Men last night.

    Sounds an exciting venture Trish

Hope Jenn and Aussie Kate  are having a sympton free Sunday

Was that Midnight in Paris Racy?

Not long to go to your surgery Chrissy. I'm sure the short term pain will be worth the long term gain

I feel very lucky because 2 of my cousins are coming up from Melbourne tomorrow to 'look after me' and take me to the Radiation Centre next week. I feel a bit of a fraud as I feel fine but it will be a nice change to have some company

I had the original iPad and got the brand new one yesterday and handed my old one over to my daughter....

Hi all. I'm getting there. But I figured out why last chemo was so bad for me and it is all my own fault. The day prior to chemo I had waaaay to many alcolohic drinks. I tend not to drink for ages and then if the mood hits me, I partake until I am quite sloshed!  (not fall down drunk or anything, I don't drink that much) Anyway, for the other chemo's I needed to pee twice during the infusions and pee was bright pink. This time around I went once and it was soft pink, so clearly I must have been way dehydrated and kidney's had taken a battering.

I have learnt! won't be doing that again. I've already told Paul after the wedding I will drive home (we were going to camp in the back of our SUV) but I won't be drinking as my chemo is on the Monday and I don't want a repeat. Well you live and learn don't you.

Still needing my supps as nausea is there quite strong in the morning before they kick in. I'm fine for the rest of the day by about lunch time.

I don't have an ipad. I'd love one though but would probably be an expensive toy because all I would use it for is to google things whilst watching tv. Even my mobile phone is utilised to a quarter of its capabilities. I only make calls and text on it.

Have a lovely Sunday everyone, oh and Gerri don't feel a fraud. You have been sick and it's nice that your cousins can do something for you and share the experience.

Jenn - great to hear you are doing ok

Kate - knock off the grog lol

I have an ipad - but only because I won it in a lucky draw!  Seriously!  I didn't even know I was in the draw, so it was a great surprise.  I use it now for all sorts of things, some great apps out there.  I use it now instead of a notebook and pen - everything in one place.

Ok  - great suggestions from you guys - unfortunately a lot of them were already taken, but my "business partner" lol has come up with a great suggestion.  His name is Richard, my name is Trish so .... RT Photography.  Arty Photography - get it?  I think it's a great name, what do you all think?

Enjoy your ipad Jenn. Trish, you are lucky to have won one.

I love my iPad! Today I especially love my brand new iPad Tony bought me yesterday (early bday present). I've had one for a couple of years. It's great for downloading my uni lectures and slides onto.

I'm 4 years into my BSc (part-time external student, taking a semester off). I usually do 2 subjects per semester and should have only had this year and next year to go, but this darned BC has gotten in the way :-(

Kate, maybe it is the concentration in your body this time. Despite me drinking truckloads of water before each of my FEC infusions I still only peed pink each time, not red, so maybe my system wasn't as efficient at getting rid of it as yours...

Still physically so much better today than after FEC, but so weary I have almost literally snoozed the whole afternoon away. Oh dear! Chemo brain! Just realised that I'd already told you guys about my iPad.... oh well....

We have had a few busy days with DS's friend staying.  I was so self concious about wearing a hat and flopping on the lounge etc with someone else's child there.

Today we did a few tourist things with friends and I was doing ok, then all of a sudden my arms and legs started shaking out of control and I couldn't stand up. I am wondering if it was lactic acid because I am unfit or just another rotten chemo SE. I am still shaky four hours later and feel rotten.

Trish - having had a business using intials I spent a lot of time explaining it to people.  What may seem obvious isn't always to others. It does sound cool though.

Wiggly hugs to everyone, I can't even type properly.

Trish, I love the name, it's catchy. To reinforce the double innuendo of the initials, could your logo be something like the A and Y in a different faded font so that it's still easy to see but the RT are the main letters. That way people are reading the word aRTy and they get the mental picture that you do artistic (clever) work. That's probably what you need for your marketing. Initials themselves don't give any sort of mental picture of your product. Just my two-cents worth xxxxx

Kylie, I agree with Jenn. Perhaps you should go straight to th ER at your hospital or another hospital if yours isn't close. And call your onc's after hours number please.

Kylie, when our white cells are low due to chemo our bodies don't always show the usual symptoms of infection such as a raised temperature.  If you're having chills or rigors you may need to go to ER immediately.  You should have a card showing you are a chemo patient so they can attend to you immediately if you need to go.  I know it's inconvenient, why can't these things happen when the cancer centres are open?

Here's the phone number for Health DIrect who are available 24 hrs and advise whether you need urgent help.  It's run by the ambulance service in NSW

healthdirect Australia is a free telephone service that anyone can ring for advice or information on health matters like a specific condition 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

A registered nurse is on hand to help you decide the best course of action or to link you with appropriate local health facilities for follow up and treatment. Alternatively, you may want information about a specific health condition or about where to find after-hours health services.

Thanks Jenn, Racy and Joy - I probably would have ignored it except for you all.

I rang my GP, said it felt more like my muscles than rigors (I have had heaps of experience with epilepsy and rigors etc with hubby). It had settled down by then and he said to go to hosp if it started again.  Thank goodness it didn't so I feel that I just really overdid it, I had just climbed four flights of stairs and a hill and I have become so lazy since all this.

Feeling ok this morning, just tired and a bit weak.  I go into onco's office tomorrow for LGFB and see onco on Wed so will bring it up.

Kate -  I liked the way you visualised the aRTy.

Glad you called and reported it Kylie :-)

Third day after Taxol and I've got weird shooting pains in my back, knees, abdomen and lower and upper body muscles. It's not too bad and I know this is a normal SE but definitely a weird feeling. Working from the home office today as I didn't want to drive all the way to work in case the pain gets worse.

The other weird thing - after washing my hands this morning they felt like I had washed all the moisture out of them, almost like I'd washed off a layer of skin cells. Moisturiser helped but it was a very weird feeling...

Jenn I had the same thing with washing hands, and I still do get it on occasions.  Chemo seems to take all the moisture out of your body, and I think the taxanes are particularly bad. I got a "goody bag" for taxotere and apart from the mouth wash etc was a tube of moisturiser and gloves, so the intention was to moisturise my hands and put the gloves on to keep the moisture in.

Yes - the shooting pains are a se - I had that too.  Have you had any taste changes?  Mine were particulary bad on taxotere, much much worse than FEC.

Kylie - good to hear you checked - glad you are feeling better now though.

I am finding my toleration for things isn't great at the moment. I am so angry, my 11yo gets migraines, the school knows this yet they waited 3.5 hours from when he said he had one to contact me. In fact they didn't contact me, he rang me from the library phone.  We live all of 500 metres from the school, yet by the time I picked him up he was soooo sick, which could have been avoided by early medication.

This after his teacher calling herself "Mrs Hitler" last week and screaming at the students that the government doesn't pay teachers enough to put up with them.

Guess I am going to be writing some letters!!!! At the moment I hate this school nearly as much as I hate cancer.

Sorry to rant, I am just so peed off.

Jenn lots and lots of heatpads helped me with the muscle and bone pains. Also LGFG should have given you a moisteriser for your hands, but if not I found Aveeno Daily Moisterizing Lotion at the local chemist and as I wash my hands a million times a day at work and tend to get contact dermititis because of it, I vouch for the moisterizer. I then apply Essentials Barrier Cream to lock the moisture in and havent had a spot of dryness or dermititis since using them both. Hope this helps.

Kylie dont blame you one little bit for being upset with the school, Id have wanted to kick someone if they put someone I lived through unnecessary pain. Hope you kick some butt and get better procedures in place for your son if this ever occurs again

Wow Kylie, you must hate that school a lot. I can't imagine hating anything near as much as cancer. I hate cancer for the damage and grief it causes to so many lives. And I am not in the habit of hating things.
