I hope soem of you are online right now to confirm an idea I have, or to put the kabbosh to it.

I am trying to be quiet this morning, as everyone else is still asleep and my mind is racing.    The wedding is in 9 hours and it is currently raining.  Probably has been most of the night.  My idea...Can I, should I, spray the bottom of the dress with Scotchgard to help keep it clean and dry from draging on the grass during pictures?

What if it discolours it? Does it guarantee not to "change fabric colour" Or test a small part. Rain is good luck on a wedding day as it means financial wealth.

Hi ladies - It's my first time on this thread, but I'm fairly active on the triple negative thread.

SoCalLisa - I guess I could be called CenCalJan, as I live in the mountains of Central California.  I love your wall of quilts.  Years ago I made a rooster similar to the one on the top left.  Fun!  I'm a big time quilter by spells.  Right now is one of those spells.  I'm making lap quilts for the kids' camp called the Painted Turtle in Lake Hughes, CA.  It's one of those Paul Newman sick kids camps.  So far I've made 17 tops and quilted only two.  I started as a way to use up my scraps, but that idea back-fired.  I'm making quilts that are hopefully older-boy-friendly, as I understand most of the donated quilts are more for girls.  (We do like our flowers, don't we.)

Meece - I've read a few of your posts.  I'm sure the wedding was beautiful.  It's been raining here all day, too.  I sure hope it didn't ruin all those dresses you've been working on.  I'm looking forward to hearing all about it when you recover.

I'm off to Los Angeles tomorrow.  I have 2 serious eye issues that are treated at UCLA.  I'm always under the threat of losing my vision, which keeps me frantic to use up those scraps.  (I just don't know why I buy more fabric.)

It's been nice to lurk on this thread and get to know you.  Jan

Jan, god luck with the eye appts tomorrow. Glad you've joined us. The quilt tops sound wonderful and it's nice of you to make them.

Meece, I'm certain the wedding went beautifully and please post pictures. I've been silently cheering you on. What did you do about the scotch guard?

I've been loading up my new studio. All the fabric is being run thru the drier on air for 20 minutes to get rid of extraneous dust and the musty smell the original storage space. It's amazing the lint I'm getting off the fabric. Then folding and sorting. Fun....but it's taking hours and hours. Then I'm making 24 napkins as Christmas presents, which is a simple job, but takes surprisingly long when doing the double miter fold corners. Oh...and knitting two more scarves and a hat. Hmmmm...better get back to work..

Barbe, did you try enlarging the quilt photo. Just click on the icon with the 100% on the lower right corner of your screen.  Clicking the down arrow beside it will give you a choice of magnifications up to 400%.

I have a "Hotkeys Utility", a Bell 415 logo (my internet connection), the time and the date. I have an arrow that opens a little box that has Speakers, Fliks, RealTek, Siteranker, Norton, Adobe, Canon My Printer, Canon Solutions, Canon Network, Freeride Games and Solve PC Issues. That's it!

Nope, I have a magnifying glass at F8, but even with hitting the Shift key or the Fn key, nothing happens. How do you isolate that you want the small picture enlarged?

Barbe - My keyboard has control + or control - (the symbol NOT spelled out).  Increases display size.  You can always go up or go back down.  Use Chrome on my work netbook and it does it fine there.  Use Firefox on here.
