Lisa - Luv the black and white one. Well, actually love all of them. Don't quilt but do appreciate them. Haven't done anything in several years and that was counted cross stitch. Pretty but not as practical and useful as quilts.

Barbe, I use chrome, upper right hand corner of window is a customize and control google chrome box (3 lines), left click on the box and the window that opens up has a zoom function.

I had mentioned previously the project for making quilts that will go to families affected by the recent hurricane. Here are the blocks I've made to contribute ...

(DARN! I've forgotten how to post pictures. New information just doesn't seem to stick in my head. I do hope it's only a side effect of anesthesia ... not that I'm getting old.)

If you'd like to see the pictures, read more, or find out how to contribute to the project go to my blog: http://nelliedurand.blogspot.com/2012/11/wonky-log-cabin-blocks_18.html

Granellie, when I clicked on your link it seemed to take me to a page with log cabin blocks but then quickly changed to an "Artists Weblink" or something like that!!!! You might have problems with your website, this is the second time I've had trouble accessing your site!

barbe, finally I took myself out of that webring. Don't know how I got on there in the first place, but I felt as though my blog had been "hijacked" by them. So the annoying pop-up page is gone Tongue Out!

Would someone please, pretty please, tell me again how to import pics from Picasa. I promise this time I'll write it down where I can find it instead of thinking I'll remember how to do it. Has anyone else had the problem of not retaining new knowledge or remembering where you just put something since surgery?

Nellie open BCO to where you want to post. Minimize then open Picasa. Click on the pic you want to post to open then right click on the pic and click ' copy URL'.

Go back to BCO and click on the little tree at the top of the post box and another box will open. In the top line of this box right click and then click on 'paste'. In the same box but a little further down you will see a resize line. Here you can add your dimensions, then at the bottom of the box click on 'insert'. Your pic should then appear in the posting box.

    Good luck!!

Okay, it has to do with how I "right click" on my Pro Mac Book. That's new to me. Thank you ChrissyB. We'll see if I can recall how to do it next timeSealed

So here's the photo of the quilt blocks I made for the "Sandy Quilt Block Project". They're being sent off to someone else to sew together and make a quilt.

wren, the blocks are big enough, it was the small poster with all the blocks in them where you couldn't see detail.

Granellie, great blocks it sounds like a good project. Glad you learned to post photos. I have lost a lot of memory from chemo. Some has returned but it has been slow. It is frustrating not being able to recall information that I know I have somewhere in my brain.

Jan welcome, I think you will like it here.

Lisa those quilts are becautiful, I especially like the little pig.

Meece I imagine the wedding was just beautiful. I'll be looking for photo too. I hope you got some more play time in with Patch. I hope you can visit him soon.

Barbe I also use chrome. I have the little 3 bar symbol on the far right side too and it has the zoom function. Also I can use control key + or control key - to zoom.

    Laters all

Thanks, ladies, for the welcome messages.  Yes, Ginger, I think I'll like it here.  I'll post some quilt photos after Thanksgiving.  I'll need someone more skilled at the computer to help me out.

My trip to UCLA for my eyes went well today.  It's been rare lately to leave a doctor's office with good news, but today I did.  My high eye pressure has not damaged my vision, which means I don't have glacoma (yet).  More eye drops should handle it.  I am legally blind in right eye from macular degeneration.  I get shots in my left eye for the same condition and that seems to be working.  What does one do when one loses vision?  It's terrifying, this business of getting old!

Wishing everyone a warm gathering of family and friends for Thanksgiving.  Jan

Wow!  I took a few days off from here and the thread went wild!  Something like the box of thread Patch found as I was trying to finish sewing dresses!

The sun came out mid morning and it was beautiful weather for the rest of the day. I skipped the Scotchgard as I didn't have time, and I was concerned about discoloration.  The dress hemline looked pretty bad by the ned of the night.  I told DIL to have her parents take the dress in for cleaning ASAP.  She said her MOH told her she would...right.  Oh, well.

Patch was so fun.  Sunday I kept myself too busy to focus on missing him, but yesterday it was evident when I couldn't enjoy our routine of rising before everyone else getting our coffee/milk and having him sit on the step to my tub as I put my makeup on.

He was an absolute doll at the wedding in his little 3-pc suit!

Welcome to the new ladies here.  Jan, you and I may live fairly close .   My onc is at UCLA and my DS3 and I spent many days off his young life there for many of his health issues.

One last quick note before I have to go.

On Sunday I gathered all of the red fabric.  Put several large pieces in a bag for DIL and the rest in a large shopping bag.  I also placed all of the pattern pieces and envelopes into the bag.  On Thanksgiving, DH is bringing out out BBQ pit and Mom and I are going to burn everything in that bag.  We will be giving thanks for not having to sew red dresses anytime in the near future!

Meece - Beautiful romantic photo.  It must have been a lovely wedding, little 3 piece suit boy and all.  Thanks for your welcome, too.  I live near Yosemite and had my tx in Fresno.  I'd not do that again.  I have said all along that if I had a recurrence, I'd go to UCLA.  DH and I both have been going there for many years for various things.  The constant construction around the medical center makes getting to appointments quite a challenge.

I just spent a whole month's budget for groceries for the week.  Six of my 7 grandchildren and 2 of 3 daughters will be here.  Oh so much fun, noise, and love.

Blessings to all of you for a celebration of "we made it another year" day of thanksgiving.  Jan

Thank you ladies.  I didn't personally get pictures at the wedding, so I am waiting to see the professional ones.  I went to the venue before Patch and the rest of the family, so no pics of him getting ready.

Barbe, I didn't cry very much.  I had a lump in my throat.  I was very angry with the MOH before the ceremony and was shaking with anger, but I controled myself.  I think that offset any tears.

Jan, I live south of you. I had my tx locally, but got no followup  and very little care during tx, so when another of my physicians found out about it, he got me started @ UCLA.  My onc has done a lot of research into TNBC so I have been in good hands.

Meece the children are just beautiful. What a lovely photo.

I understand not wanting to sew red for some time to come.

I am glad Patch was there long enough for you two to make a routine. I just love my Grandkids so much!

    Love Ginger

He absolutely loves to be read to.  One night I read him Moy Moy by Leo Politi.  Moy Moy is Chinese for Little sister, so I told his mommy to start concentrating on Moy Moy.  They are not going to find out the gender of the baby, but her pregnancy is easier than last time, and we all sort of refered to the baby as "her" or "she".
