Jo... Tell them to send someone up from engineering AND HAVE THEM ADJUST THE BLOWER FAN! AND TELL THEM TO RAISE THE TEMP!!!

Still no food - jello and apple juice. All because I can't fart for goshsakes. Give me some food and I will clear out everything. I'm just cranky right now.

Jo - not sure if you can do this, but there is a yoga position for passing gas. May be too much so will tell you the position, and a more realistic version for post-op Day 2: Lie on your back and hold your knees to your chest and relax everything, breathing slowly. This position may be too sore, so try lying on your back & bend your knees, leaving feet on the bed. If possible, put a pillow under your rear end, then relax your stomach, breathe deeply and "will" those air bubbles to float on down and out of your intestines.
Hope you feel better today and that you fill that room with so much gas they are afraid to light a match!

Jo - I too hope passed gas is plentiful and maybe other production as well.
Shell - did not know about that but did find you can google body positions for passing gas with some very reliable sources. Probably not what Jo will find comfy but I find the squat effective (TMI I know) but I will look at the other sources - Livestrong, AllNurses. Good to know in advance of surgery when all you want is out of hospital which I hope Jo is or soon.
Looks like by radar you may get some of this lovely rain later in the lower valley region.

After my hyster I was about to float away from gas. They did an warm water enema which unfroze me. It was a huge relief.

Feeling much better today. FINALLY passed gas. What a thing to talk about. So, got some food to eat. I was getting really tired of seeing apple juice and green jello. Had Lasagna, a nice dinner roll and a strawberry shortcake with lemonade. Not too bad for hospital food. Going home in the morning - yeah! Thanks everyone for your suggesstions and support.

(((Jo))) hope the worst is past and that the homegoing is great! Was thinking of you - not on BCO due to traveling 4 days to DC.
Sounds like the hospital is the worst place to recover (no surprise).Hope everyone is doing OK with this heat in the east. (94+ near the water)
DH is in Amarillo and it was in the 70s when I spoke with him. That sounds like winter for TX!0 -
I wish it was in the 70s here.
It's hot hot hot and I hate the summer

Didn't sleep really well last night. Can't sleep in my normal position and it was hard trying to find a comfortable spot. I did get some rest though. Got up and had my first cup of coffee since Friday morning and it tasted soooo good. Had a nice warm shower and washed my hair. What a difference. Unlike all the other surgeries I have had, I know this one is going to take longer to recover and I am going to really take it easy and sit as much as I can. I do have to get up and do some walking but I have to put a binder on and I hate it. The darn thing is hot but I will do what I gotta do. Follow up with GYN on Friday afternoon.
Thanks to all my pinkie sisters for all your thoughts and prayers.

I'm so glad you have weathered the almost first week post-op so well, Jo. This surgery is more fatiguing to recover from, so it's good that you are taking it easy. Relax, smell the roses, and if you get too hot go window shopping in an ice cold mall.

Thanks ladies - This is going to be a very slow recovery. Much harder than I thought it would be. Still sore and if I just didn't have to cough.... Heading outside today for a short walk. It is going to be a nice day in deep South Texas.

Jo...The first week or two is tough... Go easy on yourself... But then by the third week.. your recovery will begin to build more quickly... Hang in there!
BTW...I am throwing the heat and lousy humidity on the fire!!!0 -
Jo, it's amazing what a good cup of coffee and a shower can do for our whole being. L&H's sassy

VR---we have the fire going with this damn heat.gonna have an explosion or a blackout.
Thanks JOJO for the beautiful post u put on FB.easy does it sista
Hi Leah---nice to see you.Whats your weather like?0 -
Jo, sending wishes for a speedy and uneventful recovery.
Am on vacation in hot humid FL, hating the LE that is keeping me from doing my normal FL activities, but happy to be with family.
Will check in periodically, way too much going on here to even think straight some days. 11 nieces & nephews, 4 sibs + spouses, plus my mom ...whewww!!! Crazy but fun.
Moving this bonfire to the beach tonight!!! Tossing in LE bandages, sleeves, gloves, gauntlets, tapes, pain, swelling, misery .... and listening to the gentle waves beyond the crackles of the fire and the flames leaping high!
Hugs, y'all!0 -
Linda - Have a wonderful time in Florida.

It's been quiet here....
Jo, how are you feeling?
It's a beautiful day here....
Not much to throw in except feeling sad about my DD#3 family moving 5 hours away. I am happy for their opportunity but feel pretty selfish about not wanting them to go so far. They were here all week end for our last visit to the beach together...it felt like the end of summer when they left. They usually stay through Labor Day but they will have moved by then. I know I can see them almost any time...but I can't really drive that long in the car anymore without leg pain and hand pain from Femara...now that sounds like something to throw in....
Linda, I like the desription of the gentle waves behind the fire...I hope you have enjoyed your visit with family.
Hope everyone is enjoying what is left of summer.0 -
Hi Joan - I am doing well - thanks for asking. I just noticed in your signature line that your lumpectomy was exactly one year after mine. Aug 30th will be 3 years cancer free for me and what a ride it has been.
I really want to through in this darn itching on the incision. It has been a little over 3 weeks since my surgery and can't believe I am still dealing with the itching. It is about ready to drive me crazy. Have a follow up appt with my gyn this Friday. Not sure where we go from here. Now that I don't have a uterus or cervix will I still need to see a gyn? I can't see why I would but will find out.

Where is everyone? The fire is getting low.
Had my GYN followup appt on Friday. The incision is healing nicely and I have one area that still is a bit painful. Have to see him again in one month. I am so tired of all the appts. Into the fire they all go.

Throwing the chemo back into the fire and my liver. Tomorrow morning I start the xeloda. I've been crying over that all day.
0 -
(((((Veggy))))) throwing in SEs from the Xeloda before they can find you.
Sending positive thoughts, prayers, and hugs. Hope the big X kicks cancer's butt.Jo, glad the gyn appointment shows good healing. It seems like a long process...
Yes -- It has been quiet around here...
