    what can I say after u knocked the shit out of the gray

    I started at 27 and was not very happy

    I had every color including green2x yellow and black make green

    Then I started to lose my hair,went ape shit,dr told me I was allergic to dy and if I wanted hair I had to stop,well I wanted hair and I hate the gray,that's why I was so happy to put the purple streaks

    You have to look at my avatar closely to notice

    So bottom line ducky..DONT GO GRAY UNLESS U HAVE TO.

    Wow. 60 before you went gray? I'm so jealous. I've been getting gray since I'm 40. Since chemo the growth is coming back REALLY gray. I can't wait to color it, but I'm trying to wait until after rads. You're really a lucky ducky. That rhymes. You're also still beautiful ducky.

    FK, I love your purple streak! and....you're beautiful as well.

    FK......if I could be guaranteed gray hair the color of yours I would let it go tomorrow.........your hair is fantastic......love it............I would look like a mouse that just ran through a canister of flour.........it is that ugly shit gray that everyone hates...........not much of it, but there just the same.........I would like to stop because at my age if the time ever comes I can't do it anymore imagine what it will look like growing in...........just like that picture...................

    Plus if I get anymore wrinkles I will be able to "screw" my friggin hat on.........I see how I aged in the 3 years since the cancer.............amazing what the f/n AI's do to you...............suck 'the estrogen right out of your body.

    Used to dye my long hair "ash blonde" using a semi-perm color that was a little too dark at the beginning but faded to a nice shade with butterscotch highlights.  Had to stop when I got laid off and couldn't afford it, so it just kept fading until it reached its natural color.  Not a bad shade, or shades.  It's variegated, light in front but steel-gray at nape of neck.  It's flattering and easy-care, much better than the long gray hair I had before chemo.

    What's with all the talk of gray hair?   Mine started turning silver at 22.  Dyed it for many years.  Quite dying it when I was diagnosed with BC.  Decided I wasn't going to go back to blonde - I earned every one of my silver strands and am going to keep them at 58.  

    FK - When I started this thread, who would have ever thought it would get this wild and crazy.  Gotta love it!!!!!

    JOJO when u started this thread we just got finished tx.remember?

    So all we did was burn

    Now that we burned everything and everyone we plan a trip

    Go figure

    I'm so glad we have a great bunch of sistas here and I no we will have a great time just planning this trip

    And the best part of it is there is no problems with all these different personalities,no bickering,no nasty indirect sneezy remarks about anyone..

    FK - I do remember we were just finishing with treatment.  If you remember, the way this whole thing got started was I was up late one night talking to another sister and she actually came up with the idea.  She had already started a thread and didn't want to keep track of two.  It was me that came up with the name.  What a long way we have come since then - Dec 2010.

    I can assure each and every one of you, if there ever is bickering, fighting , etc here, I will extinguish (delete) the bonfire.  I don't want to do that ever.  This has been a wonderful outlet for so many of our sisters.

    Lily is coming on the bus???  Please, please!

    Jo, I was right after you Feb 2011...........you guys took me in and made me feel safe........your right, no bickering, fighting, etc..............I have dealt with more then my share.......beside.....I'm a lover, not a fighter.......LOL

    I hope Lilli gets back to me......I sent her a PM and told her we welcome her on the bus.....she is a Newbie, but we will take her under out wing, and teach her the ropes.......or maybe I shouldn't...LOL

    You're good that way ducky. You and FK took me in - will never forget that :) In fact, I haven't met anyone that hasn't been kind on this thread. It's a nice safe place. Thank you Jo!

    I don't think Lilly logs on daily. The two of us came into contact right after her surgery, before rads. I told her about this thread and how wonderful you all are. A bit looney, but wonderful - I thought she would fit right in.

    I just logged in and my last page was 3 weeks ago...I had to skip 2 pages of reading to catch up here....will go back and get to know the new ladies better.
    Jo, I knew you were in flip flops...thanks for sharing them...am still deciding.  Soon I will be walking the beach again...can't wait for the weather to warm a bit.  Yesterday we were in Newport RI and it was like spring.  We woke up today and it was in the low 30s. 
    Yup, Texas has it all!!

    I agree... the ladies here are fantastic...and even if we don't show up, it's like coming home again.  We are all at different stages in our lives...but we have a common bond. Even if it is something we really don't want, one of the positives is that we have met and shared with one another!  Jo, I did not know the history of this thread....I met you on Stage 1 Sisters but soon felt at home here too.  I thiought this thread was the perfect outlet for anything we needed to toss from our lives.

    Acceptance rules here. 

    I hear there is a trip going on....I am in...love to travel....I'm a good driver, but not on the broom. 

    Big hugs and will try to catch up!

    Ok.......read a map............forget this sorry ass................

    STORY..................

    My husband and I were driving to Washington State.........I was reading the map............it was written by AAA......he was driving..........I was riding shot-gun............here is the conversation

    Him......Are you paying attention to the map and what AAA wrote.........

    Me......Yes I am

    Him.....Well you have not given me directions for quite a few miles........

    Me........I know

    Him...........Well what does it say next......

    Me.....I know what I'm doing......it says to look for the Cloverleaf in the highway........

    Him........Ducky.......what do you think a Cloverleaf is...........

    Me......I'm not stupid.......it is that green thing that looks like a Shamrock......I did not see one yet.........

    As I almost went through the windshield when he stopped..(no seat belts back then)............he said 

    at the top of his lungs..........What the hell do you think a Cloverleaf is?????????????????

    Ok, I know now............its a road that goes off the highway...........well no one ever told me that........I laughed......he did not think it was funny................wonder why...........could it be the extra 20 miles went.................LOL........

    Well after going back, and getting back on the highway........I did see what a Cloverleaf was.........he took me right on it.........LOL.........

    From then on he read the map.........................end of my story as to why I won't read the map..........
