oh dear.. I have aches and pains all over today.. We spent yesterday pruning the garden. I helped hubby drag all the cuttings to the truck to be loaded.. I feel.like I'm 90 today !! It's 4 months since my mascetomy but I am.still struggling with arm / shoulder movement.. Anyone else here have that problem.?

My SIL got his nose swabbed today by his infectious disease Dr. .........he, mysef, my daughter, and grandson all have Type A Flu.....................I am shocked.........so was the infectious disease Dr........she said Type A is always in the vaccine..........this is not new strain........
Honestly.....I think they f----d up this years supply.............this has never happened to me before........
All of us got the Flu shot.......in late October...........so someone seriously screwed up.........just my opinion.................feel like sht.....
Sore throat coughing like a Seal.......Dr. wrote a script for cough syrup.........got it......paid $10.00, got home........read the information........
In huge letters.......Do not take if you have Asthma............I have Asthma......my Dr. is an asshole........so 10 buck right down th toilet.............anyone need a 10 dollar bottle of cough syrup.............

Lucy, I didn't have a mastectomy, but one year later I am still sore from my lumpectomy.
I also feel like a 90-year-old woman. I'm doing PT right now to try and gain back some of my ROM.

Slow: cracked me up! You said, "didnt make me look good or feel better! if it happens to me, yeah wigs are awful. I did buy this short silver/grey one that looked pretty good on me. the one they gave me looked and felt awful! Thank you everyone who sent me good wishes for my family, I am pretty on edge about it, but there is nothing more i can do, and I have lots of scary appointments coming up. On the 7th, my bs scheduled a breast MRI, when I saw her for the mammo two weeks ago, she got worried about my lump finally. the one I have been "complaining" about for a year and a half. They moved the birads from 3 to 4, "Probably benign". She said depending on what they see, they might want to do a biopsy.. told her yeh thought they might want to.. so, if they want to, I am gonna say: how about another year of watchful waiting again instead. Then they will say "patient refused biopsy"... A$$es. i am sorry Soupy... you can see how edgy i am for so many little things.. please forgive..kamikazikat

Have not got my hearing back since I got off the plane........I am hoping this is not more bullshit.....my daughter said sometimes it takes a few days if it happens to you........I can't hear out of my left ear at all.............
Did not realize it until yesterday.......my ears got so badly blocked on the flight out and the flight back, but I guess the coming Flu caused a bigger problem with my ears coming back..........
If it doesn't clear up I will have to go to an ENT and find out if the hearing is shot, or it will take more time........this is such bullshit........now my Grandson i sick.....they tested him, and it is Type A Flu........so much for the f-----ing Flu shot..........my daughter is down wth a 102 fever.......SIL feeling a bit better......
I feel like shit....throat and chest hurt liike hell.....ate some cx soup today, and twice yesterday..........have not even unpacked my luggage.......got some lemons, cx soup, and orange juice........felt like crap in the store, but had to get somethng......came home fast........now just sitting...........hope no couging tonight.........somone screwed up seriouy this year with flu vaccine..........typical Big Pharma, but they will never admit it.
I read today that a huge number of the Flu that has been recorded in the country is from people who have had the vaccine.........so yo tell me.............who f----d up................

Ducky... Sorry you have this crap to put up with. A couple of years ago I completely lost the hearing in one of my ears after a flight as well.. After a couple of days I went to the doctor who told me not to worry the hearing would come back by itself, and that it can take quite a while.. I was as deaf as a post in the ear for over a week.. Just got up one morning and my hearing had returned. Hope you're better soon.

Lucy......I had a hearing problem before, but nothing like this......the morning after the flight, I went to the bathroom when getting up .....flushed the toilet and thought..........hmmm that's odd, I barely can hear the toilet flushing......thought nothing of it...........then today went out to start my car, and thought.........wow, I barely heard the car door close, or the engine start.......thought.................
GREAT, not ony do I have Type A Flu.........now I'm deaf...................LO

Tomboy, I'm so sorry you have all this going on. Hope you get good news from your MRI.
I have a house full of 12 year olds. My youngest son wanted a sleepover for his birthday, but I was in the middle of chemo and just not up to it. We told him he could have a sleepover over the Christmas break. Now I'm paying for it. They are great boys, but they are extremely loud, messy and busy.....and probably won't want to sleep. At least they are boys, so I can go to bed and let my DH deal with them.
Tomorrow we are having a Christmas celebration with good friends. The other moms and I met when we had our first babies. We now consider each other sisters.... none of us have "real" sisters. The husbands are also friends and the kids have grown up together. It should be fun for everyone. I hope my oldest will want to go.

Gosh..brings back memories for me when the kids all had friends stay over, and there would be mattresses on the floor everywhere...and no sleep for any of us.!!! Good Afternoon Goddesses,
We took down all of our Christmas stuff today. I felt a little sad because I think it's the last year we are going to put up the big tree. It's just too much for me and my husband. My kids do help, but it's still so much work. I'm considering going away somewhere next year. Now I just have to convince my daughter. My son will be on board for whatever we do - he kinda goes with the flow.
Ducky, please take good care of yourself.
Tomboy, I'll be in your pocket next week. I have a bone density scan, and pain management appointment on that same day.
Kracker, sounds like you've been busy! I will keep my eye's open for other purple boots.
Poppy, I hope your sons party went well. I miss my kids being school age. Those were the best times of my life, and I miss going to their events and school functions.

Joan, the weather was pretty crazy. I've never seen snow here before. I was told we got a light dusting about 11 years ago, but I was so out of it from my NF, I was oblivious. We still have snow on some rooftops. The kids in the neighborhood were so excited, they were out playing in it at midnight.

Kid party went well. They all had a great time. I went to bed around 10:30 and let my DH deal with them. I was extremely tired, so he let me sleep in. He cooked them breakfast and had them out of the house before I woke up.
After the get together with our long time friends last night, my 15 yr old was exhausted and feel asleep on the couch. When I woke him up so he could sleep in his bed, he grabbed the TV remote and headed to his room. I told him that he had the remote and not his cell phone, but he went to bed with remote any way. This morning, my DH asked me if I hid the remote from the kids... and I told him the story. When our son woke up, we asked him if he tried to use the remote to text his girlfriend "good night". Poor kid, we've been teasing him all day. :-)

Good Sandy........slowly coming around......cough is brutal.....will probably go tomorrow to se my PCP....with the Asthma I have to be careful of pneumonia.......i had the vaccine for that, but I also had the vaccine for the flu.........a day at a time........righ

Ducky, Influenza A was the reason for my surgery being delayed a week. They gave me and DH tamiflu. It was horrible and I still had the cough when they did surgery. Didn't help my recovery pain, that was for sure. Got rid of the cough about 2 weeks later. Just now feeling better. I think 70% of Roseburg has the Influenza A and just says - "I have a cold" NOT...Wish ppl would stay home and stop spreading it...

I read a huge article and the real blame lies with the CDC and the WHO....they made the decision back in Feb. 2014 to not ut the Type A Switzerand strain of Flu into the final vaccine, and in April it became severly mutated but it was too ate to add it because the vaccine was alredy in prduction...........OK>>>>>>wel how about manufacturng a 2nd vaccine right away that could ward off the epidemic we are now i..........
I mean 6 peope all test positive for Type A Flu who got the damn shot........ridiculous......I am going to the Dr. today................only to make sure I don't need something to ward off pneumonia because of having Asthma......YES.....I had the pneumonia vaccine................Ask me if I trust that it will work..............haha....
My friend told me before xmas she was so sick with a bad cold......put her to bed....aches, pains, and very weak, with violent cough...................Now WTH do you think she had............when I said "I'll bet you had the Flu...............she said "nah, it was just a cold.............
I was past the 48 hour symptom time limit to get Tamiflu......my daugher got it, and grandson, but not me or my SIL........getting better......

Slow....called my Pulmonary specialist....got tired of playing with my GP.....nice guy but I think he is getting overwhelmed.....when I did call his receptionist took the messasge called back and said "he said you can cme in to see him, or he can rcommend somethng for your cough........OK ASSWIPE......he already did......what part of I got the script don't you get......
So pissed...receptionists talk, ask questions, and I think rush everything past them and get 1/ 2 of it wrong.....thought "screw this"
Called my Pulmonary specialist...........in 1 hour he called me back......him, not his secretary, and told me "your concern about getting pneumonia from the Type A Flu is valid..............asked if I felt like I was on the downside of the Flu.............told him yes except for the cough whch has me concered because of the Asthma..............he said if you get sicker......run a new fever.....or feel you get worse afer feeling better then I want to hear back from you"
Have to call him either way in 2 days........and that is a Specialist.........

It's probably that he is swamped Ducky. Is he an infectious disease specialist? If he is, that would be understandable, because there are not many of them. The horrid thing about being an infectious dis ease specialist, is that you get to find out about all the really truly awful shit that you can catch. I wish we could all send me to medical school, that is what I would study. I have read several books about I.D., and sometimes I don't want to touch anything, or go anywhere! But they are the ones to call in when everyone else is baffled. My favorite guy is Mark Crislip, you can find him online, he calls himself the "pus whisperer, I know! Gross, hunh? But he is terribly funny. I HATE it when people say its just a cold , or "allergies", Really??? In the middle of winter when nothings growing?? Did you try a benadryl then?!? Especially worse, i try to avoid Crowds, but, you do have to go grocery shopping, So PEOPLE SHOULD JUST STAY HOME!!!! or, at the very least, wear a mask if there is any questions, and please wear leather gloves. you are less likely to rub your nose or face with a pair of them than knitted ones, in my opinion only. I was pissed, cause this woman bumped into me when I was shopping new years eve day, and apologized and said, its this damn cold, making me dizzy. Really that is what she said. if she hadnt been slightly older than me, I would have bumped her back hard enough to land her on the floor, and then bent over her, and told her to stay the fuck home!! Seriously! I hate people who do that so much! Same with people who work. If the workplaces werent so greedy,then they would pay for more sick days. Youd think there would be a monetary incentive paid out, for a company that let the employees actually get paid for staying home when they were sick, It probably would save them money in the long run.. Rave much, me? YEAH!!

lucy55, I just had gone back and re read two days posts, and I saw where your arm and shoulder were bugging you. yeah, mine also after a year and a half was getting worse than it had ever been, even after doing everything i was doing everything i was supposed to. I had to request Physical therapy, it wass so messed up, and it really did help. i mean a lot. with range of motion and everything. I hope you can do that too. I know SlowDeepB is doing that too. I think she is still, anyway? k, love 2 all

My son Brian has to go on Wed for a cat scan...just checkin on the aneurysm...makin sure it hasn't grown...We will be goin to Scranton(one of the large well known medical centers).. I wish I still had my NJ drs...please say a prayer that the aneurysm has not grown

Gma, Hope today is a good day. I hurt and itched during recovery, but at least I knew I had nerve endings left. I was afraid I would set my boobs on fire while cooking (like in the movie Mrs. Doubtfire) and not even be aware of doing so.

While I was driving to rads this morning, they were discussing the flu vaccine on news radio. The doc said this season's vaccine was only 30% effective.... shockingly low. Explains why so many people are sick.

Kathy......the real confused one was my GP's information taker.......got fed up with the office from the first time I called.....when I got back from Chicag........handled poorly then, ...........then again today.....and "NO" he is not an infectious Dr.
Soooooooo...........after frustration called my Pulmonary specialist who handles my Asthma........he called me back within the hour.......
The thing that pissed me off the most was when I said to the office staff......"I left a message last night to see if I could get in to see "GP" early this morning...........her answer......at 10:30am when they get in th office at 8:30..............oh we were so swamped we didn't even get a chance to check this weekends messages.........
I thought "are you f/n kidding me........WTF........you didn't check a full weekends messages..........I think its about time I changed PCP, and I have been with him for years........just thought this situation was handled poorly............I guess I could blame the staff, but when she said to me..............I told him your coghing and he can give you a cough syrup........................I said "oh is that in additon to the one he wrote that I aready paidfor and can't take because it says in bold......"DO NOT USE THIS MEDICATION IF YOU HAVE ASTHMA"...................just a slight oversight.................ugh.......

Tomboy.. I have to agree.. If people are sick, they should stay home...and work places should provide more sick leave so people can.. Also people send their children to day care / school when they are sick because they have no one to mind them at home while they work..and it just keeps spreading... Ugh.. Yes.. Probably time I tried some P.T as well.. Great to hear it helped you..
