Well we are looking at 4 to 8.....who knows..........

My grandaughter went to visit PSU this weekend just for the day....did not expect the weather she encountered, after she got there........a friend drove her car "a Cadillac".....She does not like driving long ditance and its about 3 hours....

Well when it was time to leave the friend said she was staying so my grnadaughter had to drive home alone.....luckily another friend said "I'll go to keep you company".

Comeing down the Turnpike my grandaughter hit an icy patch (not experienced enough to be navigating icy roads (not sure what my son was thinking even letting her go, but he can't say no",

She veered off the road into a ditch, and the car rolled over, and landed upside down at the bottom of the ditch...............Thank God for seatbelts.........she is ok...............

Why my son even let her go is beyond me.....she will be 19 in May, and it took her 3 tries to pass her driving test..........he is lucky she is alive.............

Would not have happened in my house...first they would have never been allowed to go to PSU overnight anyway.........we all know what that's about..................College life.......and 90% of them do it..........even the good kids get sucked into bad behavior......and a "female" at that..........

Oh and my son told my daughter and said "Don't tell Mommy"........my daughter said a picture was taken of the car for the insurance company..........it was on its roof with the entire under body facing the sky.............

That is so eerily beautiful though Ducky. I would walk in it for sure, just to see it and maybe take pictures. But then I don't live where i get a chance to see it, and the few times I was in tahoe or something where it did snow, it was always sunny when I went to see it! Not like that with no sun, it makes me think of narnia.

People in my family regularly say, dont tell mom. And my mom says dont say you heard it from me. It makes it really hard to have a conversation with someone, because you can slip up and say something, and then the involved "parties" will be furious! It is no party! It's awful that there is so much secrecy, and the truth is, it is always about nothing that really matters...stupid. Oh yeah, and we are all in our 50's.

Tomboy.....could not have said it better myself......why the secrecy....I would want to share, so maybe someone else can help......especially kids, sometimes they think their parents no nothing, and a grandmothe, aunt, or uncle, even a cousin their age can help...

Problem is everyone wants you to think they are The Brady Bunch, but over my almost 80 years, many as a married women with 6 kids had finally come to realize "The Brady Bunch" is exactly what it was meant to be.......a Fantasy......I was no Carol, and my husband was no Mike".....

I never kept secrets from my mother...she was one of my best advisers....I had no siblings, :an only child", so she was my best friend......

However a lot has to do with inlaws.....especially DIL's.....always a competition either with me, or my daughters.......stupid......I always say "their loss".....they have no idea what they give up, just to covet their family.....yet...are up their families ass.......although the one has 4 brothes who she does not talk too......so what does that tell you...........LOL....like I say "shit happen....

As a footnote...I belive truly had the family known about Phil when this all began with the drugs....he would be clean and sober today.....had another relapse......oh well....sad....

Sounds like fun, but its a long trip from Philly to Ca............especially doing it alone........I know....FK is from Pa., but even she is not around the corner...........we discussed this before, but that is one hell of a long train ride, and FK doesn't fly..........then I have only flown 2 1/2 hours tops one way to Chicago.........still scared of flying, but did it 2 times so far.

Ca. is 6, not sure if I could do that.............will be thinking about all of you..............

I checked out Ca..........if we used Amtrak it would take almost 4 days to get there....Phila, to D.C. to Chicago to Ca........with about 40 stops in between.........Acela is 3 day.......with a lot of stops too..........

    Flying would be 6 hours........

All I can say is......"enjoy yourselves"........LOL......I am not spending 4 days on a train, or 3 for that matter, and FK won't fly.............that was to LA......not sure what San Diego is...........don't know Ca. that well.......

Not that I am that anxious to spend 6 hours flying either, and that is if it is a straight through flight.......not gonna happen........LOL.

Lucy, I'll take one of those money trees!

I don't blame you both for not wanting to get on a plane. I feel the same way. If I can't get there by car, train or boat, I'm just not going!!

One of these days I will get to PA. I have an Aunt in Harrisburg I would love to visit. She came here last time and it's my turn.

Slow......I'm just not sure if I could do 6 hours on a plane......I get very nervous....and to be honest I'm not so high on trains either........they seem to have hit th fore front in accidents in the past couple months..

People say "oh you can see so much more on a train"........

If your on the Acela and that sucker is going a couple hundred miles an hour......what the hell can you see for any length of time.......LOL

It would be like'.........There it is............oh sorry there it was...........

One day maybe we will meet........'hugs
