Here and now. Funny you should pop up and say that. I was just saying that 4th of July has a new meaning for me as well because I just finished chemo which we all know is a good reason for celebration.

Isn't it a beautiful video? I follow NASA pic of the day in my twitter feed, usually makes me smile. goodnight northern hemispherans - have a great day.
0 -
Oh goodness that video is spell binding. I want to be there holding the camera.
0 -
oh my gosh, I just realized it's a video not just a pic - spectacular! Thanks Lisa!
Merilee, the bonfire is anywhere we want it to be so we can be on that Australian beach.
Was I imagining it, or did the meteors streak mostly upwards across the sky?
0 -
weren't they great? "shooting stars", the night sky is so majestic, no wonder it's inspired so much spirituality. I'm going to imagine I'm beside the bonfire right now, it's so chilly today. Come on down.

Awesome thought of putting the bonfire anywhere, Only problem is it might end up on someones head LOL Like the next person who tells me being bald is no big deal
0 -
LOL Merilee that's an interesting twist -- instead of throwing someone into the bonfire, throw the bonfire AT them. Or perhaps blow them kisses of fire, like our flame-goddess avatar.
Lisa, if I could, I would trade your winter chill for our summer heat... it just saps me.
But, sparing that, I'd love to meet you at the bonfire, it's always the right temperature here.

Here, here! The ATMOSPHERE is always right down at the bonfire!!!0
-
Merilee someone with hair must have made that comment!
0 -
Right, I was envisioning them after I blow the bonfire past their head. Standing there with char for hair. I wonder if they would make the statement again LOL I know evil right ? BWAAAAHH!0
-
Merilee - evil yes, hmmm--I like you0
-
Lisa, the shooting stars here generally head downwards, they're falling stars.
One more hemispheric difference, eh? I will have to investigate that theory!

im a few pages behind....actually 3 to be exact.just wanted to mention that im an astrologer and PLUTO is still a planet....born in 1930 and called the midget planet.
AND nothing has changed in the Astrological world yet!!!!!!!all the planets are still the same.if you are a Scorpio like me you are still rulled by Pluto!!!!!!.
Im gonna throw in all my old bras since i just bought the genie bras 3 for the price of 6,ordered 3 sports bras so i have all new bras....all the $$$$$$ i spent in the past on all these fancy bras can burn because ill never wear them again..some brand new......34DD up for grabs anyone??????

Hells bells I can figure out what size I am?
Loved the night show
Why did they declare pluto wasn't a planet. I remember the controversy , but not the ---whys?
BTW everyone HELLOOOOOOOOOOO

SAS - I don't remember them saying anything about Pluto. Uranus was removed from the list of planets. I think it was at least partly a matter of size But I don't really remember the details.

Hey Chabba--------dunno I thought it was Pluto?

Can I backtrack one page to the Mosquito posts? I am one of those who is a walking smorgasbord/magnet for the little monsters. I follow all the recommendations possible (though can't use DEET because it gives me a horrible rash, can't use anything fragranced because of allergies, and can't eat garlic or onion because I'm allergic to THOSE as well!) .... light colored clothing, etc etc, and they still home in on me instantly. About 10 years ago I found a clothing line called Bug Out which is oversized long pants and a 'jacket' with a full zipfront head covering. So when I garden I have to wear those over shorts and a tee-shirt. They still fly around me but can't get through the tiny mesh. Yes I look ridiculous but at least I don't get bitten (which can send me to hospital if I get more than a half dozen or so at once).
I tried those propane powered things but apparantly I am far more of a magnet for mosquitos than any machine yet invented! And we have day-biting tiger mosquitoes where I live, so I am bug bait 24/7, not just morning and evening.
So I would happily torch every single mosquito on the face of the earth!0 -
sas - I thought I remembered right
I googled and you are right it was pluto and shape not size was one of the criteria. Pluto really is round.

It was Pluto--and yes it was because of size.BUT---trust me on this its not true.anyone that is a Scorpio is ruled by the planet Pluto. It was called the midget planet.Scorpio people are usually small.I never heard anything about Uranus being removed. They would not dare. That is a Powerful planet....now i dont want to go into a astrology lesson but EVERYTHING IS STILL THE SAME.NO PLANET WAS REMOVED.
im gonna throw those dumb people who change their minds all the time about these planets. There has been only 1 new planet that has been added about 10 yrs ago and that is Chiron.I bet no one ever heard of that one!!!!!!!
0 -
Nope granny Chiron--------Tell us about it?
0 -
Who knows chabba it's hard to keep up with these thing0
-
Firebird I've seen those things advertised --------where?
0 -
Chiron is pronounced Kiron.its called the wounded warrior.you really have to know a lot about astrology to understand this planet.when it hits another planet it kicks up old wounds from childhood.each planet has a different meaning. When I taught astrology I first taught about the sun signs, then the planets.its very interesting and complicated at the same time.It takes years to learn....0

Granny - You are a Scorpio? I am a Taurus. Born on the cusp - Apr 21st.

Granny... I wish I had all night to explain how they came up with the whole Pluto decision. First they had to put a committee together who would investigate. It took them five years to first decide who was going to be on the committee. It took another year to decide... Where and when they would discuss it. It took another year or so to agree on what the definition of a planet was. And then, they sat down to debate whether or not Pluto met the criteria for being a planet. The consensus was that Pluto was NOT a planet. The committee is still undecided about what to do next... Now considering all the heated discussions about String Theory and debate, I doubt any of these geniuses will come to a definite agreement any time soon. Charon is Pluto's largest moon. I still don't understand if Pluto isn't a planet, then what exactly is it and I would like to know why it's moon has it's own name?

VR---who came up with all this sruff??????not the astrological world.has to be astronomy....first they said yes then they said no....make up your mind will you....according to Jim Maynard who makes the claendars and lots of other famous astrological writers Pluto is and will be the midget planet.Chiron has a huge connection with Pluto and Uranus...I never heard of it being Plutos largest moon....maybe you know more then i do....after 25 yrs. of studying i still consider myself a student.
do you remember only a short time ago when they were changing the dates and signs???moving stuff around.....i was getting emails like crazy.....not according to the astrological world.they wont touch that with a ten foot pole.
this subject can get very hairy!!!!!!!!

glad to change the subject.....what a damn shame....reminds me of the OJ Simpson trial.....all i can say is GUILT IS A GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING TO YOURSELF......she has to live with what she did...Karma is a bitch...Rest in Peace little darling girl Caylee..I just hope some jerk doesnt write a book or try to make a movie out of this.Into the fire goes that lying mother and that low life father of hers....i betta shut up and get off this puter before i start cursing like a trooper....0
