Debbie:  And me too.  Not sure what that says about the 3 of us.  Needed that laugh today.  Thanks.

LuvR - I'd be ecstatic if I could get one lobster for $20.00.  The "tails" I've bought occasionally at the grocery store are not the same.  Being gracious I'll say they're not cardboard - but not lobster.

Debbie, Mom and Brother never had a single freckle, just peaches and cream skin that took a beautiful dark tan.

And yes, I got it too.  I was laughing at a little irish ----- frequently and for 9 months?

Debbie - you are so funny!  I got it, too, and LOL'd when I read it.

My paternal grandfather was a red head, and two of my nieces also have red hair.  I have always wondered about some Irish heritage but there is no one to ask from my dad's side of the family.

So cute...you were the forerunner to "Annie".

While i have no red hair I also sported a similar tight curled look after being given one of those famous perms in fourth grade. LOL

    Deb- Too darn cute!

I knew ya all would get it LOL! @chabba- well i was going to commet on that but thought id keep it somewhat clean LOLLOL!

I had freckles across my nose when i was little and they dissapered when i got older, but i would bet if you have/had red hair it means you have some irish blood running through the veins?

Laurie- Are you having drinks with friends tonight? I know DH is out working but hope you are enjoying yourself too!

debbie, even if the Irish hadn't shipwrecked near Grandma's village who knows what blood runs through my veins?  The Vikings got around and I'm sorry t say they did take slaves.  My Father's family tree shows I'm descended from a viking and one of his slaves who killed his legitimate brother and took over the family property.  Mom's Swedish Father looked like he was a throwback to the Mongols who settled along the Finland-Sweden border.  My Asian friends used to joke that my love of Chinese food is genetic.

deborye:  You look a little like my baby sister at that age...she had reddish hair and freckles too!  It later turned brown and then platinum blonde:)

Dinner with boyfriend's kids was very nice...they are a lot of fun to be with.  We went to a place called Bonefish Grill and had shrimp, mussels, mahi mahi and an assortment of other dietary challenges which we devoured, including the strawberry shortcake in honor of his birthday:)

Today we'll go to the local art show in town and maybe hit a movie.  After that, I'll treat him to dinner out, just the two of us.

Wow I am glad I checked in early this morning. Now I am all caught up and can maybe join in some conversation tonight. Debbie, so glad the insurance worked out and the procedure is behind you and Chuck. You'll be in my prayers for speedy healing. The work situation just sux. I hope it works out, but if he continues to be harassed, I would definitely talk to a lawyer. Hope it doesn't come to that.

Kaara, glad your procedure went well too. You have a great attitude with it, that will get you through.

Michelle, good luck with the DIEP. I am very happy with mine. I am scheduled for nipple reconstruction on may 31. Carrie, we have had very similar diagnosises and treatments. You're just a little ahead of me.

Laurie, I also love reading your posts about your family. You made the right decision for you and your boys, they're flourishing.

I am also Irish. I have four aunt Mary's! My mother and father both have a sister named Mary and two brothers married mary's. My DH always wears his I'm not Irish, kiss me anyway button into the hospital on st. Pat's day. His patients always get a kick out of it.

Heard my mo is leaving the area in July. I will be done herceptin in June. She got me through pneumonitis and the heart issues, and I was really quite upset. I actually cried the entire day after she told me. But now I am angry at her because she lied to me about her replacement and I'd like to kill her. I specifically asked her if they were new doctors and she said no, they've been through training at Penn. I found out one isn't even done her fellowship until this June and the other only just finished last June. My DH says she mislead me so I would feel more comfortable about it. I am angry and feel deceived and think that was unethical of her. She thinks I am upset because she's leaving. I am sad about that, but I am angry that she lied to me. I am trying to just let it go. In the big scheme of things I know it doesn't matter, but I am just having a really hard time letting it go. Maybe DH is right and it is about her leaving and not the lies. I don't know.

Kay:   It is what it is....better to just accept it and let it go.  Don't put stress on yourself by being angry.  That only hurts you.

Debbie  Ohhhh the stories...you are a riot...we should party together!

Kay  It i so important to have a good relationship with our Drs. and to be able to trust them.  dont discount the new ones...sometimes they have the most up-to-date information and are still enthusiastic about their profession.  I got changed to a young oncologist half way through and was not happy at first, but now I like hime better than the first one, graduate of MIT and super brilliant and will listen to me for as long as I want to talk.  Yes, I am slightly ahead of you...getting my nipple and some fat grafting on Monday  will let you know how it goes.

Love the pics Deb, your mom even dressed you in plaid to complete the picture.

Kay, good to hear from you....but so sorry to learn about your MO....both that she's leaving and couldn't be honest with you. Docs aren't well schooled in how to deal with "terminating" with patients, especially if THEY are the ones leaving, so I'd bet you are suffering from her inexperience in this area, which stinks. The good news is that it sounds like you are not in the same place of "need" for her as you were in the past. Would you be able to sit down and re-visit this with her and let her know that it feels really important to you to have a more experienced MO, and is there another colleague she can refer you to? Or perhaps ask her why she is so comfortable with the new docs. Some of them are wonderful. Judging from your posts, I would guess that you might not be inclined to tell her how you are feeling about what you discovered (the new doc deception feeling business), but it would be great for you if you could, so that you could also let her know how much you will miss her and have an authentic good-bye....not one clouded with the anger over this specific communication. This is a significant good-bye, Kay, since you have been through a lot together, and sadness and anger are both connected to such a loss, but I hope that you have a chance to make peace with this person (that's all docs are, afterall), so that you'll feel ready to connect with the next MO when that time comes. And of course you wouldn't want to "kill" her during lent, afterall.....you would have missed all these posts for no spiritual gain! ;) By the way, I'm impressed with your DH's caring insights. Thinking about you as you work through his.....not fun, but definitely do-able. Hugs....

Deciding on a movie for today.....anyone NOT like The Artist? DH leaning in that direction and I am more drawn to The Decendants, or the Glen Close butler one (forgot the name).

    Ideas??

So happy to have a day to have some fun after a crazy busy month.

    Hi all,!

I went out with my friend Robin (again) to get those mussles on Fri. In the middle of the night started coughing and now have a full blown cold.  I am here with my "kittehs"  I read a whole book yesterday.  Dinner was orange juice and Luden's cough drops.

    Lots of cooking going on!

    Apple, your trip sound fantastic!

As far as narcotics, I insist that they give me zofran presciption if I'm sent home with them and I take it first.

Found out my oldest friend in RI and Kayaking buddy will be going away for a year in order to train to be a Dean or President at her college.  She's now the chair.  :(  :(   :(  But then she'll be back.  I hate it when people go away...

    Have a good Sunday everyone!

Looking forward to seeing some of you!

    Deb- Love the picture!

Debbie- I got it too ;)  cracked me up.  Hope Chuck is still improving.

    Chabba- Loved your Irish story!

Kay- I think it is a combination of both.  I am sorry you have been so upset about it.  But I think it is rightly so.  What you are going through is such a personal and emotional thing how could you not be upset?  Hope you're feeling better and can find some peace.

Carrie- Good luck tomorrow!  I hope it goes well and that you don't have too much discomfort.  I had nips done at the time of exchange and it was emotional, but easy.  I've never had lypo though...unfortunately so I have no idea on that.  I'll be thinking of you and don't forget to let us know how you are.

Kaara- Glad you had so much fin celebrating, sounds wonderful!

Lacey- Sorry I can't help with the movie. I haven't been to a theater in about 10 years!  Hope you enjoyed it though.

I have my corned beef and cabbage dinner cooking in the crock pot for dinner tonight.  I'm looking forward to it, the house smells great.  Last night I watched the movie the help and had a little wine.  It was a nice quiet evening.  DH came home around 8 and went right to bed.  And I mean right to bed.  He walked in and said hi, I asked him how it went and he said good, I have to go to bed. LOL!!  Thats what he gets for doing a pub crawl from 9:30- 7:30.  But it is his job and you have to love that there was 7 of them, in a conversion van with a DD.  Basically it is a group of grown men behaving as though they are 21.  He woke up this morning and realized he had lost his phone and his glasses. (he's got really bad eye sight- why were they not on his face the whole time?  Why because he was wearing green shamrock glasses of course!)  He has located his glasses, they had been left in the van, but the phone is still MIA.  He has high hopes of back tracking and finding it tomorrow:)  I just smile and shake my head.

Hope everyone is enjoying the day!

Very cute little guy!  They are so precious at that age.  I had my DD and then my 3 DS's all under 6!  My youngest was born when I was 26 and I'm 71 now, so a lot of years have gone by since those days.  I've had an entire new life and career since my kids grew up, but I'm retired now and enjoying the peace of it all.

I'm going to do something simple for dinner tonight...salmon on the grill, a sweet potato and some cauliflower.  We had black bean soup and salad for lunch, then went out and hit some golf balls.  I didn't do too bad for not having hit a ball in two years!  At least I made contact...lol!

I had long blonde straight hair and when it grew back it was so curly at first i didnt like it, DH used to sing, The stars will come out tomorrow" LOL! I actually like my curls now since my hair grew out.

Chabba- Wow that is so awesome that you know that much about your family tree even if some of it is upsetting to find out, wish i knew more about mine, about the only thing i really know for sure is i was related somehow to Mad, mad, mad, mad Anthony Wayne. I guess he was crazy.. HMMM I just hope that apple is a long way off LOL

Kay- ((((hugs)))) Sorry that she is leaving and she decived you too, she should of just been honest and told you up front. I hope you will end up likeing the new MO even better. When i first moved here i had a MO who i really liked i went back the second time and he was gone and there was a new one, i asked where mo #1 was they said he moved back to califronia, but i did like the new one too, then i went back the third time and he was gone, i asked where mo #2 was they said he moved back to califronia, i was so ticked off by this, dont care so much about the third one he has no bed side manner but he is still here, i was beginning to think they were knocking them off or somthing.LOL!

Carrie-Yes we should def gettogether and have a few drinks we would have a riot! LOL!
