After Radiation

Mostly Sew, I hope it's something like that. I wish my RO had been available when this popped up, but he wasn't in so they sent me to the PCP, who wasn't available, so I've been dealing with the PA, a sweet little thing, but... anyway yeah.

I finished Rads on Friday, going to MO on Tuesday. I have 2 lumps as well in my MX breast. Hoping they are scar tissue. I had some smaller ones earlier and they were. My last ones were near the end of the scar. They went away.

Saw the PCP. She is very confident that it's a sebaceous cyst with a lousy sense of timing. It's still full of infection (after a week of antibiotics) so she wants to continue the pills for 2 more weeks. Then she'll check it again and we'll decide if we need to drain it. So we wait some more.
It's not that I don't trust her, but these are the same people who thought my lump was scar tissue so, yeah.
I think I'll give the rads nurse a call and see what she has to say.

I agree Cindy - Go to the one you trust the most..
I have to do an "eeny meeny miny moe" with mine. The only thing I do know is my RO is a NO NO NO... LOL
My PCP is a "cover your butt" kinda guy and sends me in for every test imaginable,
My MO doesn't do anything except labwork and tell me how I really need to start the anti estrogen meds,
And my surgeon at least looks at things before saying, "It will be ok.. we will keep an eye on it".. which is probably what he will say today... I almost think we know more than most of them..
So, which one would you choose in my case? I bet many of you have the same issue..

My PCP will do what I tell her to do, if only I knew what that was...
The RO will say it had nothing to do with rads, but it does look painful.
The surgeon would be sweet and concerned and maybe even helpful, but she's booked up and it takes an act of congress to get on her schedule...
I'd really like to go see the radiologist that diagnosed my cancer, but he doesn't "see" patients unless you have a suspicious mammogram/us.
So yeah, I see the PCP, but probably won't sleep well until we get in for the mammogram.

Both my MO and Nurse Practitioner thought my 2 lumps on my Mastectomy breast were scar tissue, but told me to keep an eye on things. I had a gut feeling they were, but wanted to ask about it.

Ultrasound tomorrow at 8:45 - I hate when the surgeon says he will call me with the results and if it is worrysome he will just take it out to make sure.... The last time he said that, I ended up with 2 surgeries.0
-
Granny - I am with you on thursday - If you are too tired you don't have to come tomorrow morning for my ultrasound.. BS did say, "Never think you are crying wolf. It's better to be safe than sorry"

Ultrasound done - RO came in, looked and my whole scar in the ultrasound, went back to the pea sized lump and said he has no clue what it is, it could be scar tissue but he has seen cancer in that form too. He is going to suggest an MRI. $$$$$$ No insurance at this point to speak of - used it up on the LE therapy....

Agh Gma. I was hoping for "definitly nothing to worry about" for you. I have my appt. for a mammogram and follow up with the RO on the 22nd and 23rd. Seems like a long way off.

Gma - sorry to hear that. Can they do a biopsy instead of the MRI? Is that less expensive?0
-
The RO at the center said "HE" couldn't do a biopsy because it didn't look totally like "my type of cancer". But I called the surgeon's office and gave him a heads-up, he can see the films before the report because they are linked together. He said he would take it out if it was "worrysome" - (his pet word). Now waiting for the surgeon to call me back0
-
Good plan!

Hi every one! I've been away waywayway too long. Trying to catch up on the posts, so sorry for the lumps and bumps and camera's where they don't belong!
I have a permanent seroma in the lumpectomy breast. Feel like a golf ball sometimes, seems to swell with my monthly cycle, yes that I kept - couldn't get that side effect...nooooo. lol. Funny you mention clothing. I'm a year out of rads and I can't stand certain fabrics touching my radiated skin, they "scratch me." I still can't lay on that side to sleep either, and bras hurt.
But....someone told me the other day (that has never been though this....) that the more she hears about chemo and stuff the more she thinks why would anyone want side effects forever.....I told her at least I have a forever.....
