I was busy last night unloading my RV.  A young man came by our house the other day and wanted to know if we would sell it to him.  So we decided to go for it since we have not been using it much in the last 6 months and with the health of my parents and my inlaws looks like getting away is going to get harder and harder over the next couple of years.  Plus too many medical bills to pay for, so at least I wont' have the RV payment any more.  Had fun with it and would like to do it again when our life settles down.

Hi there.  Having a blue day today.  It does not help that I am feeling exhausted today.  The sun is shining and the snow has all melted, but I am not in a good place at all.  Gonna have me a nap this afternoon (can't hurt, right?).

take good care and just breathe. . .

Granny - Glad to see you back - we have missed you.  Yesterday was quite a day for all Americans.  I don't get tired of hearing the news stories.  Those Navy Seals are true heroes in my book.

Sounds like the PT is helping and hoping you can throw that compression bra in the bonfire soon.

Granny - So glad you are making progress with the edema.  Hope you can ditch the oversized bra soon.  Must have been a hard decision to stay away from family after the shingle shot - I know how much you love those grand babies.

Missed seeing you here.  Take care of that back.

Miss Jo!  What are you doing?  So everyone is still asleep...Maybe if I start breakfast, you can smell it, & wake up?

And Kantalope!  See?  Well at least you will listen to someone, even if it isn't me!  Ha!  You shouldn't stress so much about something you THINK you might have... I think I also told you I have had Edema in my one ankle for years!  But your diet will help with that, or like me, I stopped the Tamoxifen, & it cleared up.  Sometimes things just go wacky inside our bodies, for no reason....... Even like cells that divide, with no explanation, and turn into cancer.....

We just get stuff, and we do our best to figure it out, and with our Doctors help, we usually can take care of it.  SOME women really do have serious things going wrong, but in this modern age, even they can get help..... So if we spend a lot of time being a worry wart, that isn't good for us either.   So your Internist said everything is fine....Now you just have to believe her!  Sounds like you have nothing wrong with you right?   Wink    And nothing else to worry about..... So just let me cook you some good breakfasts, and get on with your happy life!

Oh wait...you hate eggs...That's okay, Jo and I will eat this one!

Sherry!  Good job selling the RV!!!!  Now ask that guy if he wants a 92 Kawasaki motorcycle!  My Husband bought this big thing at a time of rebellion in his life, & it just sits there....In the garage....doing nothing.  He SAYS he will sell it this year... Yep, when pigs fly.  I think he just wants to hang onto it, because if he lets go, that will be like admitting he is getting older..... & is afraid to ride it.   Also ask that guy if he wants about 10 years worth of Playboy books...ha, ha!  You know where I would put them, don't you?

Teklya...I'm so sorry you were feeling blue....I gave you a couple days to feel better!  So are you?  What?  you want some puppy kisses?

Where is Torigirl?  How come everyone is in bed?  Where is Ducky?  Okay....guess I'll sign off...I feel like I'm talking to myself here..... xoxoxoo

Chevyboy - I'm here and the breakfast was so good - thank you very much.  We must have missed each other this morning.

My last couple of days has been a living hell.  So many things going on - just too stressful and overwhelming.  I won't give you all the gory details but to sum it up, my assistant managers quit - knew they were leaving 10 months ago and gave us their resignation letter on Sunday morning before coffee, my so called BS nurse friend told me yesterday to grow up, get a life and stop using the cancer pity card - that was the shock of the century.  I would not expected that out of her of all people.  She has been one of my biggest supporters and then slaps me in the face.  UGH!  I already threw her in the bonfire - Kantalope and others helped me as I did not have the strength to do it alone.

Amazingly, did sleep good last night.  Have to get my stuff together and come up with a plan of action at work since I will be doing the work of 2 people until we can hire new help.

Love the puppy kisses picture -made me smile this morning - just what I needed.

Haven't seen Ducky, Torigirl, Kantalope or the others in a few days.

Where have you been and how are you doing?

Okay, I just wrote a short novel - got to get some work done but I will be back on and off today.

Chevy how did you know that was my favorite breakfast??? yumo

Teklya glad you are feeling better.

Granny now you can see those grandbabies

I had an appt with the dermatologist to remove some bumps on my face that I do not like.  Guess I am kinda vain after all.  Anyway about two weeks ago I started itching on the top side of my radiated breast area.  I told the RO about it last week and he did not seem very concerned and told me to use the hydro-cortisone cream.  He thought I had been in the sun and that it what was causing the irritation and told me to be sure and use sunscreen.  So Monday I break out in a very fine rash and the itching is worse.  Good thing I already had this appt set.  The Dr tells me that our skin is forever changed after radiation and that we are more susceptible to rash's and irrataions etc.  He said don't waste your time and money on over the counter hydro-cortisone. So he gave me a script for something that actually works.  Put it on and with in a minute I was itch free.  He said the irritation can be as simple as a blouse rubbing on our skin in that area. I told him about my whole rash/itching ordeal during radiation and how they did not want to give me anything stronger so I used what I had at home.  He confirmed that other dr are always so hesitant to actually give you stuff that works.  He said it is hard on rads pts because we suffer with rash and itching because they won't give us anything.  At least now I have something that works.  He told me to use it for one to two weeks and it should clear up and gave me plenty so I will have it on hand for future use.  He said this will probably not be the only time I will have this.

Sherry - Sounds like your dermatologist is on top of things.  Seems ROs don't think radiation can cause skin problems.  What kind of cream did the dermatologist give you?  It would be interesting to know what you are using.

Jo he gave me Triamcinolone Acetonide Ointment .1%.  The brand name is Kenalog.  The RO that was the backup guy during Christmas gave me Kenalog but only gave me .025%.  so this one is 4 times stronger. He said the low dosage is just a tad better than the hydrocortisone.  I told him I continued to use Clobex during radiation but only on the weekends and did not tell my RO about it.  He just laughed and said I was fine I did not hurt anything. He said it was not meant for daily long term use so I was fine with the way I used it.

Jo if you have any additional itching you would probably be fine using the topocort that you used during treatment.  Sounds like it worked fine as well.  I did not ask the dermatoligist about that one.

Sorry about your BS nurse friend giving you such an attitude.  Guess she had never had BC before.

Sherry - I do still have some of the Topicort and plan on keeping it for future use if needed.  It did wrk wonders for me.  As far as my ex nurse friend, she is a piece of work - she should know better, she works with BC patients.  She was in the room when I had my biopsy.  Told me that whenever any lady was scheduled for that particular room, there was a high probability they had BC.  UGH!  She went into the bonfire with the help of several other ladies on here.

Well kids!  I'm glad you all woke up!  Smelled breakfast, eh?  I'll write more a little later, but I'm going to meet my "little girl" (49) for lunch!  She is so fun!

You know I meet the "older" folks that I used to work with at Coors, every month for breakfast.  Just read an email from Coors that old Bob was killed Tuesday morning driving to volunteer at Lutheran Hospital.  I looked it up...I guess his car crashed into a pole, then into a large tree.  His wife at least wasn't with him......I'm just so sad......I've known him for 25 years....  Five of us would meet every month, & just laugh & act silly...but now Ruthie lost her Bob.... They are both 87.  No, I don't think he should have been driving either....but what can you say.....

Well Hi cat!!!!  Glad to hear from you!  Yes, we all get it.... I know how it is to try & talk to family, and sometimes our closest friends....I know they only want the best for us, but it isn't the same as meeting here, with gals like ourselves, who have been through it, and come out of it, hopefully a little stronger.

I feel overwhelmed sometimes, but it usually doesn't have anything to do with me having cancer.  I like to think I am done with that now.... It's just the "getting older" thing that makes me think of my own mortality...And my Husband's.

Guess I'm still just "blue"....Losing 2 of my dearest old friends within 2 days, just knocks the wind out of you.  I'll see his dear wife at the funeral tomorrow, & everyone I used to work with...but I'll miss them so much, & our breakfasts every month for the last 25 years...  Maybe I'll whisper in Ruthie's ear, that we'll meet for breakfast soon!  Love you gals....xoxoxoxo

Granny.....................I have an appt on Tuesday with a LE specialist............I did see one already, but my insurance won't take her, so she is recommended another one.........What massage are you getting, and are you doing this yourself..............also what stretching.....share please...........I asked about this right after surgery and they told me "not necessary"

Also my LE specialist said removing nodes had nothing to do with who gets LE, caused I bitched aobut my BS removing 8, and they were all negative...........she told me she had 25 removed, and never got LE...............she said 20 to 30% of women get LE, and that is the ones whose "lymph fluid", does  not flow through the "lymph channels" the way it should................and has nothing to do with node removal....................also assured me that my BS had to remove the SN, plus the other 7 because the "dye" did not take during the SN biopsy, and he had to be sure there was no node involvement.

Well I said "of course the dye wouldn't take, and of course my lymph fluid decided to flow in another direction"................friggin Murphy's Law"...................ok, I'm not whining, so stating..............Yell.........So again Granny..............tell me what y;our doing girlfriend.........share the wealth.............and you have a great Mother's Day............

Jo update on the phone.  When my DH was at the AT&T store there was a kid in there upgrading his iphone so my husband bought his cheap.  Was able to restore from my backup on my computer last night.  Put the one I dropped in a ricebag and this morning was able to see just enough of the screen that I could get the newest info I had put on my phone.  Am going to keep it in the rice and see if it gets any bettter.  If it does the new one was cheap enough that it will be good to have a spare.

Was nice to not wake up in the middle of the night itching.

Oh and where is granny she must still be asleep.
