All you beautiful, funny, intelligent women inspire me!  I called and got an appt with my MO for Monday morning.  I'm going to have her check all this super tight chest area, and underarm.  Lifting my arm over my head hurts a lot.  Today it felt like I had hot liquid trickling down my boob, so much so, that I looked down my shirt expecting to see my scar open and oozing out! NOT, thank goodness.....anyway, I decided to get my butt back in to make sure it's not trunk LE, LE or cording, nerve damage etc, all of which I have learned from all of you.

So rest assured what we all go through and write about is educating the next one feeling the same things...

Granny, that's ok, we're still good friends................I will dance my ass off tomorrow, trust me..............I could use a little off my ass.

I am nervous too about 9/11..........2 of my grandsons flew home on Thursday from Chicago for the wedding.............both of them will be flying back to Chicago on 9/11.................I said "can't you go back another day, both said  "no" they have work on Monday....................told me not to worry, they will be ok......................I am very worried for them......................although one said "the security will be very tight....................still not convinced....................

Ducky have a great time at the wedding and don't trip on them heals.

Walley--congrats on the clean mammo, one down

gina glad you are getting that checked out.  I don't think our bodies were meant to hurt.

Felt good today and this evening was having some discomfort in my nerve damage area.  Told DH I think it is happing more often.  It is not always bad but I notice it and then there are the bad days. Not enough to call the doctor about as all my Dr appts start next week so for the next month seems that every week I have a Dr. appt to go too.

I need some advice.  I finished my rads July 5th.  I have been very tired as of late but returned to work with my 1st graders.  Today I started having pain in my back behind my breast.  It is almost breath taking.  It hurts so much I don't know what to do.  Any advice?  It feels like a knife is stabbing me there.   Have any of you experienced this type of thing?

I'm almost one month post rads.  I have discomfort - feels like a fleshy bruise - on my back, rads side, right where my ribcage ends.  When my DH hugs me, he touches right there and it's uncomfortable.  When I lean back against chairs, my back touches there and it's uncomfortable.  Not really painful though.

I also have pins and needles pain that runs down my arm and makes my hand semi-numb.

    Nerve damage?

Ducky - you are so funny.  I love the unique way that you can smile though the pain.

Gina - That balconette bra you can't wear?  Yeah, I have 4 brand new ones in my closet that I bought when I started rads in June.  No way can I wear them.  I've even entertained the idea of returning them for some soft, comfy, tshirt fabric bras.   Ahhhh...  But these DDD's just wear out those soft and comfy bras.  But I can honestly say that I'm a lot less sensitive to how I look in this post treatment phase of BC.  Maybe I'll get those comfy bras afterall...

Dolphins~ Yes I had the exact pain, like a knife stabbing you from the inside out!  I would be at the grocery store and be on my knees in pain for about 10 minutes then it would fade.  I noticed for a while they were coming on every day, then they started to lessen.  When I went for my 6 weeks follow up with RO he asked me about the pains, and described them perfectly.  He said all the women tell him the exact same thing....and it would lessen in intensity and frequency. He was right.  I finished rads June 6, 2011.  I still have pain, but more like soreness now....

pejkug3~I joking call the balconette bras my "I wanna get lucky" bras....maybe then I can stand them for about an hour!!!! This last week though I'm so sore, not gonna happen the bras or the lucky! lol.

ps, i'm always asking my DH if I am bruised on my back....so sore in the entire radiated area

Ok, can I go to this friggin wedding in my bare feet..............................Nah its in a church, not the beach ........damn that grandaughter of mine, she could have thought of my feet.

Of course my heafty meal at Texas Roadhouse last night didn't help this morning...........my feet look like Miss Piggy on steroids......................tried on 7 pairs of shoes...........all black.............who the hell needs 7 pairs of black shoes, but that is what I hav e .............I feel like a cripple, and I'm walking like Walter Brennan from "The Real McCoys"...............even when I took the shoes off, I still had them on....................you could see the impressions of each frigging pair.......................oh well I'll just pick the most comfortable of the uncomfortable, and take them on as soon as I get to the receiption......................Instead of introducing me at the beginning, as the Grandmother of the bride, they can introduce me as Jeb, the poor mountaineer from the McCoys .................well at least I don't look like Granny McCoy ................shit i"m gonna start drinking right now ......................maybe the booze will go to m'y feet, and I won't feel them .............................now where did I put that Vodka............

Ducky - That sucks you can't find comfortable shoes. You have 7 pairs of black?  Hell, I can't find one pair of plain black flats.  Gave up on heels a long time ago - only wear flats.

Ducky--you just crack me up....you should see my shoes...i should have told you the trick before but just thought of it now...i still wear heels.not very high.mostly wedgy but when i buy new shoes or if i have to go somewhere i wear them a few hrs.a day in the house just to break them in...

yrs.ago when i did competition dancing i used to ask my DDs to put sox on and wear them for a while to break them in...everyday.if you dont wear them ever you cannot ever be comfortable in them even for 5 min...gosh i wish you luck...BTW a wedge is good for your back...dance away and dont think of the pain...tomorrow is another day...

I had the stabbing pains but my did not lessen. I ended up with permanant nerve damage.  Do keep an eye on it and talk to the Dr's about it.  My RO kinda blew it off but my BS paid attention and treated me for it.

Granny.............The wedding was great...............suffered through tthe shoes, danced all night, and on sunday morning didn't even notice the foot pain............why you say.............well in order to see if you had foot pain you had to stand on them...................well what was the problem you say....................ok....................I couldn't get out of the friggin bed, my back hurt so bad.....................I lierally crawled to the edge of the bed (qjeen size), in the morning to get to the bathroom...................well after standing, I realized the pains in my feet were nothing compared to the pain in my back..............so as the saying goes................want to get rid of a pain in one place....................GET A FRIGGIN PAIN SOMEWHERE ELSE.........................but it was worth it........................I haven't "jitterbugged" in ages, (I'm a 50's gal), but my 25 year old grandson shocked me when he saidd "come on Nan, let's jitterbug"....................thought "he's kidding, these kids today call it "swing", and it's nothing like the 50's jitterbug...............well this kid was fantastic...........whoever taught him how to do it..........had to be from the 50's too......................what a great night..................but I am paying for it now................hahahahaha

Ducky---I told you it would be worth it....I did that crawling many times.

Once after years of competition my mom saw me crawling up the steps.I was over 50 then.she was sooo pissed off but it was all worth it....Glad you had a good time...I sure hope you had a couple of drinks!!!!!!!

Have you gals tried Crocs?  I mean, I have been wearing them for about 3 years now....Those and Tennis shoes!  They have cute closed-in crocs too, but I have had Plantars Fasciitis and a lot of trouble with my feet, and the Crocs have really helped!  I know they look so funny, but after standing in low heels for 20 years AND walking all day, my feet really took a beating....  It's worth trying!  So glad you got to dance Ducky!   That made it all worth it!

And have any of you tried the bras from Amazon?  The front-closure ones?  I've been wearing them since the day I had surgery, and they STILL are the most comfortable.... If you want, I will post the link, or you can get it at Amazon....the "gel-mart" ones.

Little Princess Kantalope...I know you really like your bras, but honey, these are good ones too!  I am not small....and I ordered a larger size than I really am.  Hope you gals are doing good!  Love you all....xoxoxoxo

Hi jo - been around every day, don't normally post unless I have something different from the rest to add....except when repetition is appreciated like congratulations, condolences and prayers.  Not that repetition is not appropriate, just my hands hurt when typing very much.

Chevyboy - Where have you been hiding?  Haven't seen much of you lately.

Chabba - I do understand about the hands hurting.  I use mine a lot and sometimes pay dearly for it.

Guess what SherryC? I've joined the nerve damage club.....no meds yet, gonna try message therapy....glad what my MO felt today was "normal". My lumpy bumpy boob sure doesn't feel normal to me! lol.

Can't wait to meet you all!  Anyone else on the forum know of any Texas gals that might like to meet?

Morning girl!  Hi sweet Jo!  We've just been sooooo busy putting everything back together after putting the laminate flooring in our house...Really a job.  Then our youngest Daughter (50) had Rotator Cuff surgery, so I've stayed the night with her, and we run back & forth to help her out...

And I'm kind of like Chabba...I don't have anything different to add, I guess. Wink  I FEEL good, just was kind of tired after the same Daughter & I laid the Laminate ourselves in the bedroom, before she had her surgery... That's when we decided we would "No way in h$$$ do the living/dining rooms ourselves!"  Ha!  Too much of a job!  But we DID do a great job.  DH did all the sawing & stayed out of our road....(wink-wink)

And never mind about the bra's I was talking about...Can't find them ANYwhere online now!  That always happens....You find something you really like, or tastes good, & they quit making it, or you can't find it anymore.

Gina sorry you had to join the nerve damage club.  If you do need medication I take amytriptiline 25mg and Jo takes the same but 50mg.  I know others have taken neurotin.  Just some info in case you need it.  I have a really good pain Dr. in New Braunfels if you want his name even though that would be a drive for you and I am sure there are great ones in SA.

yep, I think the sensation that hot liquid was dripping down my boob etched my name in the club!  Gotta make that massage appt!

Maybe we should start another thread for the"nerve damage club" - who knows how many others maybe out there.  Just kidding - we can keep up here.

Gina - Sorry you have to be in our little club.  Like Sherry said, the meds do work - too bad we have to be in this position.
