I fell out of bed at 4 AM. I was dreaming I was trying to trick my ex husband into drowning himself. (Do you hear that Isabella?) I was trying to run away before he figured out what I was doing. So.... I somehow got up on my hands and knees and having my feet caught in the covers I threw myself off of the bed right into my bedside chest which has a curvy top and front, three drawers with metal drawer knobs and stands about 6 " higher than the bed. I woke while I was having my face smashed into the chest, today I find I have a poofy lip with messed up insides of my mouth where the drawer knob was. My left cheek bone hurts a lot, the most, is bruised, my left jawbone hurts too and has a big bruise. My knees are bruised as is my left shoulder. I have tape on one fingernail that is split longways too far in to just cut off. My neck is so sore.
The moral here is to be careful what you dream about, I am not even angry with my ex of 38 years ago. Har har like I can do anything about it. Tie myself to the bed perhaps?
I wonder if it is possible that the Aromasin, lack of estrogen is making this worse. Sometimes it is funny but not so funny this time. My poor husband up at 4 Am getting me ice and a pop cicle, hauling me off of the floor etc. Sleeping with me is a real blast.
I just called the Doc to ask what to rinse with. I suppose the sinus bone isnt broken, what would they do with it anyway?
Other than this I have been feeling really good the last few days. Kind of normal in a real good way, new normal of course.

Ginger, that happened to me when I took an Ambien ER...and I had no knowledge of it in the morning, only the black eye

ginger, having done the face plant two weeks ago i feel for you. still have large lump on forehead which i hope goes down. if still hurting in am would have it checked out. good luck

I now have an appointment at the U of W sleep clinic, only waited 67 years to do that. I had an uncle who dove through a second floor window and lived to tell about it. I really don't know what they can do for me but my family will feel better if I do the tests. I did call the doc who told me to watch for concussion. Face hurts a good amount, swollen over the left check bone.
A friend of mine took an ambien and proceeded to try to take her clothes off in front of hpuse guests. She is so totally not the type.
Hoping for peaceful sleep.

OMG Ginger! Lol at the dream but oh my! at the consequence. I really feel for you and your poor face! Glad you are going to do the sleep study as it should give you some idea of what happens while you sleep. Hope you face settles quickly and the pain disapates quickly as well.

I drove over to Clare (about 40k from where I live) to change a pair of jeans I picked up yesterday for my DH. He has lost so much weight that his pants are falling of his butt and I felt it time her got some that actually fit him. I got two pair as I was not sure which would fit and luckily one was a perfect guess. I hadn't intended to get them but walking past the clothing shop I notices a whole rack of jeans put out for $20 a pr and considering they are usually aroung the $100 mark I just couldn't resist. Any way, today I had to change one pair and then treated myself to a yummy cake and coffee at the Bakery Cafe on Main Street...........now that was worth the 80k round trip..........lol

I used to take a sleep med that made me pretty wanton too, I used to phone-a-friend!!! hehehehehhehee (He was a cop so any time day or night he was pretty much "on".)

I've had anaphylactic shock from anti bs twice now, a hospitalstay each time,and last week, i begged them to keep me and give me iv anti's but, no, im still home.. now, im doing the nebulizer trick, too..
there really is a BIG difference with the xeponex,Nancy. if you can talk them into rxing it, it really doesn't "jazz" you up as much, nor tire you as much..
I know how you feel, i hate being in bed so much. something i've fought with the ms for yrs. now,, between this uti and hypo. its in bed.. the frustrating thing is, no SLEEP !grrr...

Barbe you are correct. As I was laying on the floor considering how injured I might be the thought of going to the ER crossed my mind and when I tasted the blood in my mouth I thought, "Oh no, they will think Paul hits me." He doesn't and that would be so sad for him. I hate to imagine what it must take for a woman to go to the Er when her husband or partner does hit her!
I feel relieved that i have made the Sleep Study appointment. I don't take any meds that would cause my wacky symptoms. I only take the occasional Lorazepam. I have had my symptoms since I was a young child, both night terrors and dreams where I get into the action myself. The doctor is a neurologist and another kind of doctor too. One of my DGD who is 9 years old has the same thing as me. Maye I will find out something useful for her too. Oops on the bold. Go away bold. Laters Ginger

Ginger, so glad you have a sleep study appointment. My own nose-dive off the bed was what prompted me to get a sleep study too and that's how my apnea was discovered. Hope you don't have apnea, but if you do I'll answer any questions I can for you. Using the machine was like a miracle for me!

About six years ago I had to have open face surgery on my jaw and naturally that left me very swollen and bruised. You can imagine some of the looks I got when I went to the supermarket etc.............I felt like I had to explain it was because of surgery not that my DH hit me. I'm not sure I would have been believed so I just let them think what they like as I knew the truth.
It's sad that the first thing we think of when we see a bruised face is that the partner used his fists and hit. It's even sadder that quite often it is the truth of the matter.

Lisa, the size doesn't really do the picture justice. It is truly beautiful..........it has an inate beauty mixed with sadness. I asked him who it was or was it inspired by anyone......he said no one in particular just how he was feeling that day. He draws his emotions most of the time as he finds it easier to express them in art.

Hi all
Home again after two thought provoking days at a conference. Then had two days in Wellington which is a beautiful city when it's fine. It has steep hills around the harbour. Wandered down part of the way and was delighted to see several native birds which are now spreading up into the suburbs from a sanctuary area. Had to get a new suitcase to come home, love shopping there!!
Very tired and sore but that's fine as I know it's because I have done far too much. Have given in and am seeing the RA specialist this week but don't want to take any new medication after the last lot.
Ginger what a story, do hope you are OK now. 3jays sending loads of prayers your way.
Think I will have a bath soon.

It amazes me to see how fast you can get an appointment with a specialist "seeing the RA specialist this week". Are they just sitting around waiting for you to call? Here in Canada we wait months as they are booked SOLID. We do see them eventually, and we do get treated for "free", but it's a longer wait. Do you guys have so many specialists that it's just by guess and by golly in the yellow pages?0

Barbe, I am seeing this one privately so it will cost me a little bit but as I am a patient I can get an appointment within days. To see a hospital specialist could takes several weeks and in some cases months, you are allocated points for severity. However if we have some insurance which we do through DH's work we can see them privately. Anyway even to get to a private specialist we have to go through our GP who refers us and they will make the initial contact.
Must get my breakfast and watch the closing of the olympics, sorry this is a mad keen sporting house and I have enjoyed the coverage.

Our insurance indicates wether or not we need a referral. I just booked at the sleep clinic with no referral because my insurance doesn't require it. My appt was about 3 weeks out from time of call. If I want to see, say a podiatrist, it should take less time if I am willing to go to the first available. Over time I have found that if your need is serious one gets in much faster, even same day. I do think we have greater availablity of specialists, however my husband has excellent insurance, we live in an affluant area with many medical facilities available. If you asked that same question of someone on public aid and using medicaid for their medical needs the answer would be severely different. When I was workling I sometimes found myself calling the county health department advocating for a patient in severe dental pain and literally begging them to see her. Or another client who needed a liver specialist for a stint? I called every single one in the county, not one would see her. Finally a Doctor advocated for her and she was seen. Our medical is plentiful if you have the money and if you don't you are screwed.
I am feeling better but still stiff. My bruises are flowering out in various shades of green and gold.
My sweet husband, we were leaving for our DGD 2nd birthday party and I asked him if my arms looked okay in this short sleeved blouse. He replied that the looked a little swollen. Ah, so much nicer than pudgy.

Ginger that is one thing that's great about our healthcare - if we need treatment we get it through the public system no questions asked. However for non urgent or elective there are waiting lists. They are not meant to be anymore than 6 months which is really too long. So many people have private insurance to cover such things. Our specialist generally work for the hospital as well so if you see them privately they can put you on to the hospital list. When DH had heart problems we literally arrived at ER and you were in, same thing with DD and her gallbladder. She took 3 weeks to get her op.
Watched the end of the games and now I suppose I had better get some things done.

Heart problems trump anything up here, too. But 3 weeks for gallbladder? That seems like a long time. Was she in distress or just knew it needed to come out? I've had a CT scan immediately (just had to walk across the street to the hospital) and now that I am a cancer patient, I get other tests very quicky, too. Imaging Services at the hospital told me they see cancer patients within two weeks, not the months that others have to wait. Only good thing about this bloody disease, really...

Barbe was it you who wanted to see an almond tree in blossom? I know someone asked me to post a pic and I can't remember.........lol. I'll post one here anyway as today is a sad day and the blossom is so beautiful it may lift my heart.
This tree was in my garden but unfortunately it was blown over in a storm a couple of years ago. I was going to just get rid of the stump but it had begun to sprout again so I think I'll leave it and see what happens.Love n hugs. Chrissy

Barbe, DD couldn't be operated on until the infection she had cleared other wise it would have been done on the spot but it was too long for the poor girl.
Must get organised as I have to take my sister to the doctors. It looks as if she has the beginnings of an ulcer on her leg. She thinks she stratched it in the garden a couple of weeks ago but only realised it had gone funny on the weekend.
