Chrissy, how blessed you must have felt to have that glory in your garden!! The rebirth of the new tree is just as special.

Alyson, your poor DD!! It must have been so hard to wait and watch her in pain. I hope your sister's leg is okay, too. Must be nice to have a sister near you. I never have lived near my sister as she became a nurse and moved to the USA over 30 years ago! It's been fun to visit her, though...New Orleans, LA; Boise, ID, San Fransisco, CA, (another CA if forget....doi) and Portland, OR.

I'm ba.a.a.ack! Got me my old poo thru valve back too!  I am slowly getting the hang of all this 'natural' way of doing things....although I am still wearing diapers 'just in case' and can certainly commiserate with my two gransons about wearing crappy pants.

I hope you're all travelling well and in the place you want to be healthwise.  I am still a bit shaky with funny vision so won't hang around too long (it's a long walk to my bathroom too.)

    Sheila.

Yay Sheila do glad you got everything put to rights and it's working well. Hope the diapers can disappear soon.

Just popped in before going to bed.

Barbe, unfortunately I don't feel very positive about having my sister close. She actually lives with us - that story is long and complex - as she unfortunately has nowhere else to go and is unable to support herself on her pension. She is 12 years older than I am and so we didn't know each other as children. I find it so hard as much of the time I feel I am being used by her family ( part of the reason she has no money.) Mainly I feel responsible which I know I shouldn't.

Chrissy it looks as if we might have dates for our SA visit - I will be in touch.

Sheila pleased to hear all is going well.

    Big hugs.

    Hello All

Beautiful tree chrissy, that pic lifted my spirits that day. Esp. the notion that there will be new life again.

Shelia glad the surgery is behind you (hehe) and that healing is ongoing!

barbe, stealing some of your wit. I smile just seeing your pic.

Aly, there's that old saying we can pick our friends but not our family. sad but true. She is blessed to have you.

purple, thanks so much for that tip on order of doing inhalers. I think it helped. Still only blowing a 350 at best, but some of the tightness is better.

Off to see new doc today, praying I can get a connect better with her than the one I have been seeing. And that I get some direction for what to do next.

    Have a great day girls!!!!

Nancy good luck with the new doc. Hope you get some answers.

3jays how are you doing? Sure hope there has been an improvement and the uti is on the way out.

Not had such a good day today, way too much breakthrough pain that the tramadol didn't touch. If its still there on the morning I guess I'll be phoning the doc.........sigh!.......if its not one thing then it's another. Sure hope it goes overnight.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Alyson, I can see exactly why your sister would feel like a burden!! That is so sad....

mac, glad to hear there is a tiny bit of improvement, this has gone on long enough! Stamp your foot and demand answers!!!!

Sheila, so very, VERY good to see you!!!! I've been afraid to ask if anyone had heard. You are doing GREAT!! And the motivation to get out of the diapers will egg you on. Could some of the sanitary napkins work as well...just kinda moved back a little? Less bulk but enough to catch the oops when you sneeze or cough.

Chrissy, I moved on from Tramadol a number of years ago to Morphine Sulphate. I just had to get my dose increased on Monday again, as well as my break-through meds. My spinal stenosis hasn't gotten worse, but now I have bony overgrowths that are impinging on the nerves that exit out the sides of the disks in my lumbar region. To say "pain" is just not enough. It's breath taking. But the doc said no surgeon would touch me unless my legs started to go numb. So, I just continue to up the Morphine. I'm on 90 mgs a day + 30 mgs for break-through. The break-through are instant relief ones, I'm sure yours must be too...I hope!

Barbe this is a new lot that I haven't felt before and just seemed to effect the left side of my ribs and sternum area. Not so bad if I didn't do anything but over the top when I did.

I have a very sensitive system when it comes to drugs so the tramadol usually works well but not today. Like I said if the pain is still there in the morning I'll be phoning the doc. For now I'm off to bed as its just after midnight and I'm worn out.

    Have a good day.

Crissy - lovely tree, I'm glad it's resprouting.

Ginger, I laughed so hard at your nighttime story.  I understand about being afraid of your hubby being treated badly.  Before we got married, my hubby took me fishing on a charter boat.  I wasn't accustomed to the height of the door frame and tripped going through the door.  Fell and hit my nose directly on a wooden bench infront of me - busted it (the nose, not the bench).  Hubby took me to ER.  They asked me many many many times how my nose was injured - making sure to ask when he wasn't with me.  Finally I said - listen, he didn't hit me.  I'm just a clutz HONEST!!!!

Barbe - love your new avatar pic.  Can I wear pink if it isn't October???  I actually like pink.  Laughing

Chrissy, always scary to get "new" pain. And I HATE waking up in pain!!! If I do something to deserve it - like gardening - then I don't mind as much. But to wake up in pain is just such an insult to my soul. I pray you wake up tomorrow just fine and learn your limits. It's okay to go beyond your limits as long as you're willing to deal with the pain.

gardengumby, there's a thread out there about Pinktober, the month we all hate as it's breast cancer awareness month. That means nothing to me now as I don't have any and I dare someone to ask me!!! Anyway, they wanted slogans  for a T-shirt, so that was my offering.

barbe - actually I was teasing... Innocent I've got the Pinktober thread in my favorites, and read it often.  Last year when I got pressured at Safeway to donate I 'bout took the woman's head off....  I don't really mind being asked, but the woman was really pressuring, ya know?  I got a little PO'd... said I'd already given too much or something like that.

Years ago in January, about 2 weeks after my double mast I was in a large department store and purchased some new tops. The clerk said that there was a bra specialist in the lingerie department that was giving "free" fittings. I said "thank you, but I'm not interested." The clerk persisted and I got frustrated and said "I just had a double mastectomy!" She said "Oh, they can fit anyone!"

garden, so glad to see The Mountain!  He can sometimes be seen from the bay side down here but I don't get over there very often when it is clear enough inland.  Will be nice to see him here.

When we lived in Olympia I could see him on my way to work and I once had a window with a view of him at my desk.

    Hello all,

So I'm thinking pink is a funny color for "little boy flowers". Then I looked at the flower and thought about where barbe's mind would go.

Then I'm like mountain, what mountain? oh yeah, in the litttle tiny pic above garden's name. Are you guys trying to confuse me? Does not take much these days.

Chrissy i hope your pain is under control.

I saw the new doc today. I like her. She seems very compentent and knowledgable. She is very concerned about my blood pressure (as any normal doc would be). So I am on a new bp lowering med. She did an EKG (normal) and I am having an echocardiogram tomorrow morning. She wants me to stay on all my other meds. She is going to talk to other drs and get my records together and study them. She gave me hope that she is interested in finding out what is wrong as much as I am. She wants me to see the pulmonary specialist in Boston at least one more time, to see if he has any other idea or how about a diagnosis. We talked about pulmonary hypertension, lung disease and bc. So even though it seems like more of the same, it feels like moving forward. I think she will help me through this process.  She said it was normal for me to feel crazy when I was dealing with an unknown diagnosis for so long. She did NOT ask me if I thought i was depressed and did I need medication for that!!!!

I went to my bc support group tonight. I was not attending last year at this time and it turns out they have an October event called "Putting on the Pink". Being a new member I am keeping my mouth closed for now.

    love to all

hi gals.. just a quick fly by to say hello.. im still waiting for my latest cath results. we're going to go back in the hospital if its still infected, and i know it is, by my symptoms.. ive just been getting sicker, and sicker.. its the ms; its just NOT fighting off the multiple infections i've had..

anyway, i hate that my life has become dr appts to dr appts AGAIN!!! can't wait till i get a break, healthwise. im going to the beach for a few days.. already planned it out with DH. but, we've got to get over the hump, first..

not much else is going on. i've been a bit "put off" by some of the responses i've gotten on bco, and haven't really wanted to write much.. not on this thread, though.. this one is always my life line..

it seems some people think i can pick and choose when i get sick  IE: how i wasn't sick when marybe was here.. ask marybe, i was plenty sick, then, but not like this..

i was scared i wasn't gonna make it this time anaphalactic shock isn't something you can plan, for sure..

i hope everyone is doing well.. Isabella, any news for the surgery yet?? you really have been screwed, and didn't get a kiss..

missing you all, and reading often...3jays

oh 3 jays all you're going thru and you are concerned about me!

We think that my lungs already had issues and "we" didn't realize it and the rads made it worse. Still trying to get a diagnosis.

    I'll email you tonight.

3Jays that is horse sh** that you choose when to be sick. I push through lots of things for visitors. That doesn't mean I am okay, just managing.   Ignore anyone shallow enough to mention such a thing to you!
