The whole front end of her ford focus was smashed in, lost headlights, deployed the airbag all front end damage. luckily her ex drives a wrecker and came and got her so she wasnt stranded for too long. State Troopers and wreckers are notoriously slow around here as we are pretty far out in the country.

Holy cow mary!!! Is she okay today???? When I drove a tractor trailer for a short time (Schneider - the big orange rigs) just because I wanted to, they taught us to not swerve for a deer but to definitely try to miss a moose!! I only saw one in the short time I drove and it was in my own Province! Late, dark, snowy night and as I passed him he was the height of my window!!!! I think we were both in shock, but hey, at least I had headlights!!! (Probably why he stopped in the middle of the road, then...)

Morning from Down Under.
Barbe Toronto is a main port of call because DD and family are moving to Oakville and we have several friends around that area as well. Will let people know once we have dates.
We saw the damage deer could do when we where in PA. A moosed would cause a lot of damage.
Have a good weekend everyone.

Oakville is a wonderful community for your DD!!!! Close enough to Toronto without the horrid traffic, set back on the lake shore and very "well-heeled". Do people still say that????

Good morning! Where is everyone? Usually at least some people have been posting by now.

I know!! Quiet, eh?? And yes, we do say (and type) eh!!

Barbe, we cross posted! Good to see you. Just doing my usual Sunday morning check in before going to the Senior Center to prep for Breakfast. Have a good day.

Hi you two! I'm just checking in before heading for my bed its midnight here and I have an appointment with my lymphodema therapist tomorrow (well today really)......lol. I have decided that after a physio assessment I will join the strength for life which is run at the recreation centre in Clare. It will mean an 80km round trip to or three times a week but I'm sadly loosing my strength and balance so I definitely need to do something about it. The program is well subsidized by the government for all over 50 who want to participate. The idea behind it is to keep us stronger, more balanced and capable if staying in our own homes for longer if not always.
Mmmm I think I will keep you all informed of any progress. I sure hope the physio assessment goes well and there will not be too many restrictions.
Have a great day all!

That sounds like a wonderful program Chrissy!!!! I had both an arthritis and fibromyalgia clinic at my local hospital years ago. The arthritis was 8 weeks and the fibromyalgia was 10 weeks. I learned a lot! Especially how to use a cane properly!! I don't get embarrassed easily so it was a good chance for me to ask all my questions; like, how do I wipe my bum when I have NO strength in my fingers? Answer: wet wipes. Please post any tips you get that you feel we could all benefit from. I hope my tip about the wipes will help someone else. It's hard to ask those kinds of questions in mixed un-known company. I just have no social filters!
When my DH and I took a scuba diving class, I was the only one that asked about diving while on my period. I thought it a VERY important question and it was! But no one else asked and there was a relieved sound when we got our answer.
Just like when I took golf lessons, I asked the pro how do I keep the club close to my body when it was trying to pass over my (huge!) chest? Answer: I had to lift my left heel. I've always wondered how my golf would be like now with no breasts but I haven't swung a club in over 4 years!! AND, I LIVE on a golfcourse!! Like, doi!

Chrissy - gale yup found a strength training program that you can manage. Let me know of your progress.
I have been having a great time with BarbA, she send her love to all. She has been really busy getting ready for her new job and transitioning from her old one. She starts the new one on Monday. I will be leaving on Tuesday evening. We went to hear GreenFlash last night and Barb has got me on Twitter and I am trying not to get hooked on Tweeting all the time. We will see how wrong that lasts. Think I will go take a nap since we were up really late last night and up era rly this morning. Catch you al later. AJ0 -

We were in the Methow Valley in eastern Washington State this weekend. On the way into town a highway sign announced how many deer had been hit and how much damage was caused. Going to our cabin we drove through an area that was just thick with them. The speed limit on the highway is 45mph at night. On the way home today we saw a car with a sign across the rear bumper that said DEER THAT'S WHY. He pulled over to let faster cars pass.

Lisa, gorgeous pic as usual although this one is very poignant.
AJ so glad you are having a grand time with Barb!! And even gladder (if there is such a word...lol) that Barb has finally found a new job. Good for her!!
Wren, love the bumper sticker!!! I can understand the reasoning.....lol.
Barbe this program is ongoing. There is not cut off........as long as you are able you are encouraged to continue. I'm actually getting excited about it!.......yes I know I must be nuts but hey.......maybe a bit of my DD's training philosophy is rubbing off.......or maybe not......lol......but I am looking forward to getting started!
Live your questions by the way......only you would ask the curly questions. Gotta love you for that!!
Well time for me to eat so I'm well done before its time for me to go to the lymph practitioner. The last treatment got not just the lymph moving but everything else!!!! I couldn't find a loo (toilet) quick enough when she was done and it continued to effect me that way for a few hours after. Must admit I felt really good for awhile so I'm looking forward to my treatment today.
Have a good one girls!!
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
Hi all

I'm a quilter too!!!!!!! I have just done a bunch of Karen Stone quilts with paper piecing!! I LOVE fabric!! Chrissy has been posting some pics for me on a sewing thread I'm on. Why aren't you over there, too, Alyson????
My LE tech only worked my arms and upper torso. I'd like to get a treatment that got me moving...just how far down does she massage??

Barbe my prac did mainly my arm and BC side trunk with a little back and groin. She finished off with the neck. Apparently everything was backed up hence my swelling. I'm thinking that as she gets everything moving it will be a more all over thing and done regularly to keep it that way.
Must fly or I'll be late.
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
What thread Barbe, I do quite a bit of sewing and often make DD1 her performing dresses - large and showy.

Thanks for the heads up about "Stitching the Pieces Together" forum. I, too am a quilter. If you had not seen the link for a quilt I had made concerning cancer on another forum page, here's the link:

Right now I'm making blocks to make quilts for those who lost so much to Hurricane Sandy. If anyone is interested in doing it too, here's a link to just make blocks or to construct already made blocks into quilts:

purple, can't help you. As I've said manny times I only post pictures from other sources on the net. Once a pic has been up loaded you usually only need to copy and paste. Anything else is beyond me.
0 -
Purple once you have your pics in either Picasa or Photo-bucket you just left Vick on the photo and then right click on copy URL then come back to BCO and click on the little tree and then paste the URL to the top line. Adjust the size if you need and then click enter. Hope this helps.
Live b hugs. Chrissy0 -
Wow, took me a while to catch up with all the posts. I had a great time on my short trip. It took all day to get there because of the other winter storm. Sometimes getting off the island is more than half the battle. But once we got there it was so fun to see my BFF from high school. We celebrated my bday in style. And both my children came too. I just had to schedule a nap time into each day.
Just wanted to say hi!
purple, did you figure out the picture posting? You have to use the little tree icon.

Well, posting a photo here didn't work. I have a Mac Pro laptop from which I tried to post a photo from Picasa with no luck. siiiiiigh!
