Chrissy, that is great you get to take a trip. When is your birthday? When do you leave?
Leah, I hope also that you get through the fill without too much pain. Is it calmer over there now?
barbe, you could get a bathing cap with flowers on it. Some of the women in the water aerobics class I was in had quite the collection of bathing caps.
My friend came over today and we did some gentle stretches. She teaches yoga so a lot of the moves were yoga like. It is great. I don't have to be out in public. And I have no one to compete with or compare to myself. It's gonna take some time. I was shaking just trying to hold my leg up for a while. LOL
I can't believe it is the end of November already.

It's amazing how good a little gentle exercise can make us feel......never mind about what other can or cannot do its about how we feel with doing what we can........keep going with your gentle stretches as I know they will make you feel great!
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
thanks Chrissy.
I am going to meet with her once a week. we are going to work on my breathing and opening up my lungs. I still have some pain in my rib area. But we are going to try to work it out.
What a great birthday present. To meet up with other bco sisters. What fun. We will count down the days with you!

Hydrotherapy sounds great - another thing that really helps with aches and pains is massage. I try to get one at least every other week. After the massage I feel practically like my old self.

Just stopping by to catch up, off to bed now. Hope everyone has a good day/night depending on what Continent you live on. Joy and blessings, AJ

I had a massage every WEEK for 5 1/2 YEARS. When I had to finally stop because I just couldn't afford it anymore is when I had to go with a cane....sigh. I wish the medical field would realize the benefits of massage and cover the payments!!! I'm sure my health plan has some coverage but I don't know how much and I'd still have to pay in advance. I really must look that up. Next year...I'll do it next year!

I have never had a massage in 67 years. It makes me anxious to even consider it. Given that you have enjoyed it there must be merits I just don't see. I hope you have the resources this upcoming year.

Oh, Ginger, massage can assist in helping whatever ails you (physically and/or emotionally)! Our insurance covers massage therapy if it's prescribed by a doctor and prior to my BC, due to all of my flying/sitting/etc., my PCP gives me a prescription for weekly massages. I don't get them every week, but they're available when I need them. I only have to pay the co-pay. The massage therapist my husband goes to has worked with women who have BC and I'll start seeing her instead. She is very experienced in the lymph system, joint and associated mucle pain, and the special needs of women who have had MX/BMX.
Thai massage is more of an active massage and when I go on the AIs, will work with her to to assist in strengthening the muscles to help alleviate the joint pain.

I believe part of my youthful face is due to massage!!! Keeping areas supple and moving lymph and breaking up lactic acid pools. I do a lot of visualization of breathing out bad crap while getting my deep-tissue massages. I do not like a foo-foo massage, I need a sports massage. I have a LOT of muscle and I used to work it hard. I know a lot of people believe in Chiropractics, but think about it; what moves your bones out of alignment?? Muscles!!!!! Keep those muscles toned and everything else stays in place!

I've been having lymphatic massage two to three times a week for the last month trying to get my arm and underarm to go down but my therapist is so good she also works on other parts of my body as she sees I need it. I'm talking places that were bothering me but I never verbalised to her but somehow she just knew! I come out of her rooms feeling fab!! It's a fabulous treat.

I wish my insurance covered massage..sounds great.

Lisa - Check into it. I was unaware that my insurance covered it until my PCP looked into it and told me they did.

OK you two these are my bits of material and I match them so you can't move me. Gus on what will be my quilt which my friend is making for me.

Aly, Gus looks mightily comfy........you did say the quilt was for him?.......didn't you?.......lol.....looks like he's claimed it anyway!......lol

that's going to be a beautiful quilt - and Gus obviously likes it just fine!

What a great quilt for not having to match seams!!! It is going to be gorgeous!! But, it is AMAZING that cats have to do this...my last cat is on his death-bed literally (we check to see if he`s breathing when we come back from going out) and yet he will get up to go lie on something I`m making. Absolutely uncanny!!

Alyson, the quilt will be lovely, and it has to be Gus's---he matches it!
We continue to be "on call" for new DGS's arrival, which apparently will be earlier than the original time expected. A week ago DIL was told it would be about 2 weeks and the original due date was Jan. 1, so any time now. At this point, DIL's not planning to go back to work so it'll be interesting how that goes with a newborn and a 3 year old. She plans to use cloth diapers and is making them herself. Hmmm. (I'm planning to buy her a giant box of disposables myself!)

I used cloth diapers for three boys, two in diapers twice...I would do it again except when traveling

I HATED the plastic pants that went over the cloth diapers so refused to use cloth. I used paper when they were HUGE BOXY and very bulky pads. They are so TINY now it`s like the baby doesn`t even have anything on!!!!! It hurt me to see babies with the red burn of urine along the line of the plastic pants....so sad and so unecessary. My MIL had to boil the cloth diapers for my exDH as he was allergic to the soap. She wanted ME to use cloth. Not a chance!!!! I hated the big pins, too. I was so scared of hurting the baby when I babysat a child with cloth...

I never used anything except disposables with my children and I have no idea why DIL wants to do this. She said she got the diaper material already bonded to a waterproof coating so she won't need the plastic pants. I'll be surprised if this idea lasts once she has to start washing diapers, but I'm not saying a word--since I'm the MIL.
