Geesh, Wilsie! Why have a dog door if they can't go out? Do they stay closer to home if you're in the house? Do you think they went looking for you? I used to have cats. They are cool. You come home after a 3-day weekend and the cat looks up at you as it licks it's balls and says, "You. You look familiar....."

Barbe. There are two dog doors, one goes into garage, 2nd one goes from garage to large, fenced yard. When I leave in the car, I have to close the dog door which goes to garage, othwise I may run them over or they can escape when the big garage door opens for the car to pull in   They can go in and out as they please when I am here. I don't trust any of the three to be loose, plus they would be picked up by animal control.  They have the best lives dog could have  I love cats, too, but so do the dogs!

Hi girls!  Getting better each day with better movement and most of the time very controlled pain so I'm doing good.  Thanks for all your good thoughts, they must be working as I don't recall recovering this quickly with my other knee.  I am in full hope that by the end of four to six weeks I will be able to drive again as my lift and press is already not too bad but still too much pain under pressure to drive.......soon.....lol.

I'm filling in my time by watching the World Cup in soccer from Brazil.......love soccer and already there have been some exciting games.

    Take care all.

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy

Wow! You can do lifts and presses with the knee? You are doing amazing!! I'm so glad your fear of what you went through last time was not self-prophesying! Keep up the good work, sweetie.

I have a special day coming up. Tuesday is my granddaughter, Lauren's 17th birthday. 17 years ago, I was in the room in the hospital with her parents, when she was born. It was such an emotional time, I was marked all over for my bilateral mastectomy, which I was having the following day.  The miricle of precious new life, almost calmed my terrible fears of what I was going to go through. I have always had a special bond with Lauren, I remember seeing her little head with black hair and eyes, looking around before she was completely born!  She has grown to be a beautiful, sweet, and special young lady. Every year on her birthday, I tell her the same story, which she never tires of hearing.

It dawned on me that a nice thing to do for each of my children and grandchildren, would be to write down my earliest memory of each one.  I would have loved to have that from my grandmother, for whom I am named. You can't say I love you too much or too often.

Thanks Barbe!  Yes the lifts are getting better as are the presses but I'm still a long way from being back to normal.....lol.  No, the fear didn't hold me back as I am so pleased with the result of my other knee and how wonderful it is to be able to move on that side with no pain.  I have lived so long with knee pain I really won't know myself when there is none at all........lol.

Oh Wilsie, I know just how special it is to be there as a grandchild enters this world and the very special bond that ensues with that child.......I have the same with my 18 year old grandson.  It seems to be a 'knowing' between us......just super special.  Writing down your early memories of each of your children and grandchildren would be a truly wonderful thing to do for each of them and something that they could keep forever.

I ventures out for a farewell luncheon for a friend who is leaving the area and moving to greener pastures for her.  It was so lovely, good food and good company a really fabulous to be out of the house for a few hours.....lol.

Hope everyone is out enjoying your summer!

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy

WIlsie, that is a wonderful memory to share!! I'm sure she looks forward to hearing if from you. One year the penny will drop and she will realize that you are actually talking about the circle of life - as you looked at your own mortality, she began her life.

When my step-daughter had her little guy, Fynn, and her mom and I were allowed into the room I was pretty surprised when she handed him to me first! I'm still impressed that her mom didn't balk at it. But I still laugh when my step-daughter's words were "Don't drop him!" hehehehehe

Wilsie, what a wonderful memory to share! And your idea of writing down your first memory of each grandchild is delightful. I'm sure they'll all love it.

Chrissy, I'm so glad you're doing so well. It takes a lot to keep our Chrissy down!

I think the older we get, the more sentimental. When I was a child, I used to ask my grandmother to tell me about when I was a baby. I still remember sitting on her lap, listening to whatever trivia she came up with.  Memories bring our loved ones back for a little while, so they are with us always.

I just saved my photos from the past six years onto a backup memory.  1 TerraByte

You take the most beautiful photos. I enjoy seeing them on the "peaceful contemplation" thread. That sounds like a lot!  Glad you have them saved.  Thanks for posting them for us. Wilsie

Lisa what a great idea!  I bet you have enough to just about fill that terrabyte...lol.  I have loads of movies and series that I have saved to a terrabyte and now it's so easy to look for something to watch and there are no DVD's or Videos taking up space in my lounge.  I have my pics in a few different places,  Dropbox, Picassa, Photobucket and then I have a heap of USB's but maybe it's time to do what you have done Lisa and put them all in the same place, on a terrabyte so it will be easier for the kids to find them when I eventually kick the bucket.....lol.

I have finally worked out what my problem is..........I am expecting too much and have been pushing myself too hard.  I was sitting here yesterday thinking about why I couldn't do what I did last time when I got home and then it suddenly dawned on me.   At this point last time I was still in hospital and it was a month after my op that I got home...........right now I am only two weeks and two days and can't possibly expect to be at the same level.  I just have to give in a sit on my butt or lay in my bed for a couple of weeks more.....sigh......I so want to be up and out and about.......lol......guess we can't always have want we want.........I think the Rolling Stones had a song of that title and maybe they are right.

    Love n hugs all!    Chrissy

Slow down you move too fast...feeling groovy...

Actually Chrissy , I was transferring from one computer to the other and just didn't have space to move it all...

so I just plug in the backup hard drive and I have it all...

Lol Lisa, yeah I know, that's a perfect song for me and the minute I read the first few lines it started playing in my head....hahahahaha!

Did you get a new computer?  Laptop or desk?  External hard drives are great and it doesn't matter how many you have it's just a matter of remembering what's on which one........lol.   Have fun with it!

I got a new laptop Chrissy. I kept my Windows 8 but I got a new windows 7. I just love it and feel quite at home.

I went from XP to Windows 8........talk about a shock to the system but I rather like it now.  It took a little bit of fiddling to find my way around but the longer I have it the better I like it and the easier it gets.  I'm glad you are happy with the Windows 7.

Chrissy, so glad that you realized you were pushing yourself too hard! We were impressed by how well you were doing but I guess you didn't recognize that yet. I'm still amazed! I have a cousin on Facebook that is still bitching about her knee replacement that was so long ago I don't even remember when it was!! (last year?? this year??)!! I hear more about her knee now than I ever did before.

Chrissy, sounds like you're progressing in your rehab.  It's normal to be a little impatient.  Step by step you'll get there!

I'm off to the dermatologist this morning to have a basal cell cut out on my neck.  She scraped out the little red bump last week and sent tissue to the lab.  I haven't figured out who will remove the stitches she'll put in today because we're departing tomorrow morning for our summer getaway and don't plan to return home until early Oct.

As you can imagine, we've been VERY busy putting things away outside and carrying stuff out to the 5th wheel camper that will be our summer home.  We have to prepare for any hurricanes that could blow away porch furniture and yard decorations.

We're headed first to IL to dh's sister's house, where we will park in her driveway.  She has a 30 amp outlet that we can plug into for power.  She and her dh are having an event on the 21st to celebrate their 50th anniversary.  By July 1st we hope to arrive at Pine Hollow Resort near Park Rapids, MN.  It's a small campground on a lake.  This will be our 3rd summer to go there and we're now acquainted with the other people who have their campers set up to serve as summer and weekend cottages.

Last July was really nice.  Hope the weather is as nice this July.  We love it when we don't have to use the a/c.  I should have wireless internet there so can keep up with you ladies.

Carole, I hope you have a great summer, it sounds so relaxing.  Enjoy your visit, and we will all hope fo no severe weather while you are gone! I hope you can post and tell us about your trip along the way. Wilsie

    Hi gals!!

I've been missing everyone; but bed bound most days, so have been pretty depressed.

Chrissy: I had the dates for your  suurgery, so didn't miss any prayer time for you LOL!

So glad you're doing so well. No more bum knees!

Just take it nice an slow!! The MS has come back in full force; so it's a challenge getting around now. I have the same problem as you with the sensitivity to meds. Wish I could handle codeine: those meds would come in handy now, but alas, cannot do.

Keeping you all in my thoughs land prayers. and Mac, watching your progress. glad your getting into the other house. bet you'll find a difference with your breathing.

Leah, so glad your DD came back clear!!

      3jays.

3jays!!!  How wonderful to see you!!!  I love it when you pop in!  Oh Boo on the MS!!  Hopefully you will continue to pop in often.  (((((Hugs))))))

Barbe it takes a full year to heal properly perhaps she is still in the healing process.  I can't wait for that year to pass and than I'll be ready for anything!  I'm hoping to lose a bit more weight and get a little bit fitter so I can maybe get back to doing some of the things I like to do.  Now that's something to look forward to!

Carole I've had a few of those basal cell carcinomas removed over the years and as the saying goes, better out than allowed to spread.  The doc may put in dissolving stitches so you won't need to worry about having them removed and if she doesn't, ask where you could have them removed while on your trip.  By the way, that trip for the summer sounds amazing!  Don't forget to take some pics and share please......lol.  Enjoy!!!

Wilsie, what have you got planned for the summer?  Anything special?

Lisa it's good that you feel comfortable enough to go between the two.........I have a tendancy to learn one and want to stick with it.......lol.

I think I did something not good to my knee in my sleep........I woke up when it popped and then stung like you wouldn't believe!  It is very sore and sensitive this morning so if there is no change by tomorrow morning I think I will give my doc a ring and see if I could have done something untoward.........I really hope not as it was going so well.

Well, DH is waiting to help me with my shower so I'd best not keep him waiting too long.  Catch you all later!!

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy

Chrissy, thankfully I am not having to tend any new ailments, just trying t keep up my hip exercises since PT is done. I have grands from Phoenix for the next 10 days, so I will be busy entertaining a 10 yr old and 14 yr old. Thank goodness dd has a pool.

I am going to Iowa to visit my sister early July. She is very involved in dog shows, agility, obedience and has a boarding kennel. Dog people are very nice and I always have a good time. We are going to free concert the day I arrive, Jefferson Airplane. I am sure I will know who they are when I hear them.

3jays, don't think we've met, but this group is the nicest, don't you think? Sorry your ms is flaring up.

Chrissy, don't try to do too much too soon. Love to all Wilsie

3 jays, I'm always delighted to see you here, but I do hate that the MS is causing more hardship in your life.  I think of you often and hope all is well, otherwise.

Chrissy, hope your knee's okay and you didn't move TOO wrong in your sleep!  I think you're wise to check with the doctor just in case.  You're a real trooper to keep your eye on the prize no matter what it takes to get there.  May you improve every day, slow and steady.

We have 3 more days before the beach vacation.  Somehow, these family trips always bring to mind those Chevy Chase vacation movies!  We're renting our first beach house with a second floor this time so will see how that goes.  Everyone is to bring their baby gates for the stairs and I may pick up one myself too.  Getting excited about seeing the ocean again!

Carole, have a great summer at the campground!  And Wilsie, I remember Jefferson Airplane!  I think their lead singer was named Grace Slick.
