as soon as the painters leave for the day I will go take pics! It is a beautiful sunny afternoon here. We picked lambskin for the walls and a slightly lighter color for the ceiling (except for the beams) iconic column. where do they get the names for these colors? The beams will be washed with a coco color and then a dark wax applied over to get a distressed look. the floors will match, that way the wood shows thru. That work should start tomorrow. The fir window sills and trim will be a clear poly so bright wood color. It already feels so warm and inviting. Then on the stairs which will have fir treads, the risers will be a graduated from darker to lighter orange color. Can't remember the names. A pop of color!
Chrissy, what a great shot!! I am so happy for you!
I went back to the physisatrist yesterday. She did a bunch more trigger point injections on my back and neck. I slept for 5 straight hours last night. yipee!!!! She seems to think this will eventually help my hands feel better, too.
I think I just heard the last truck pull out.

Went to Balboa Park today to see a Sorolla. Art exhibit
I strayed a bit.

Lisa love the waterlily. I am a real amateur in this photo game compared to you, Chrissy and some other of the folks but I love taking pictures of flowers. Usually set the camera to scene setting and let the auto focus do the rest.
Must take my camera with me this morning as I saw some wonderful blossom yesterday but it is a bit overcast this morning. There were a gang of Tuis in the trees yesterday.
Saturday here and so I had better see what DH is planning.
Mac I am pleased you have got some relief.
Big hugs

I think we all enjoy taking pictures of flowers Aly because they are so beautiful. I am like you. Mainly letting the camera do the work
Here is one more.
A few years ago some rioting students tore up this lily pond
It has taken years to come back. If my feet could stand it I would spend the whole day there

WOW!!! I have never seen lilies in a pond like those purple ones, Lisa!
Alyson, if you are taking flowers, you should use the little icon setting that looks like a tulip (or other flower). That will allow you to zoom in the most. If you use scenic (mountain icon?) then it won't go in as close. Hope you feel well enough soon to be able to enjoy the walk.

Have posted this elsewhere but so pleased. And yes Barbe I was using the little tulip icon quite by accident. (And I did wonder about the mountain one)
This is a very fat tui drunk on nectar. It was part of a gang of about 10 in the large prunus tree in blossom.

Hello Ladies!
I was so foggy the other day when I posted that I forgot to tell you that my ultrasound came back negative for blood clot. My MO thinks the achy leg is from my edema. So I wear my lovely compression stocking daily now in addition to taking Lasix. My resting heart rate was down some too. Only 105 this week...down from 120. But the tiredness hasn't left me.
MO wants to have a discussion with me next week about my treatment. He is concerned that my neuropathy is getting worse. So he said I need to decide about my options. I can stop chemo and not do the last two Taxols or he can reduce the dosage to 70-80% for the last two. Of course I can always stick with the original dose and finish as planned. I'm still trying to figure it out.
Barbe, That medication you told me about for RLS really helps! Thank you.
Chrissy and Lisa, I am SO enjoying your beautiful photographs!
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! Hugs, lilyrose

Oh mac, it is just all so breathtaking!!!! How can you stand not to be moving in??????

Lisa I just love those water lilies!!! The blue one is amazing........I could imagine myself spending loads of time there as well as it feels so calm and serene.
Aly that Tui being drunk is just too funny!.....lol.
Nancy what can I say? Your little cottage is just gorgeous!!! I would be wanting to move in there if it were mine and I can just imagine how cosy it will be once it is finished and furnished!! You go girl, the colors are great!!
Oh Lillrose don't worry about being foggy, we really do understand and you did tell us that you had just received your chemo treatment. There are a lot of women who go for the diluted last couple of treatments due to the neuropathy rather than stop early but you need to judge just how bad your hands and feet are right now and remembering also that the neuropathy can continue for sometime after treatment finishes. For some women there will always be some degree of numbness for the rest of your days. I'm hoping that your onc has made you aware of that.
I went for a walk down to our local creek this morning.....it was freezing but I rugged up well and took my camera with me.....of course.......lol. Last summer our town council decided to rejuvenate the area around the creek and the creek itself by getting rid of the reeds that were clogging it and tidying up the lawned area and placing some new benches. So, guess what the subject of my pic is?........lol......yup, the creek, benches and of course a couple of ducks!
These two look like they were posing for me but sadly they were just looking for food.
Love n hugs all! Chrissy

barbe, it really is looking so gooood! I get pleasure just from watching the joy on my DD's face. To tell you the truth, I do not envy the job of moving into that place and I will get my turn eventually. At some point I will be living there and renting out this place to keep up with the taxes, I am sure.
I think I am getting a summer cold. bah! Of course, it is manifesting it's place in my chest.
This new doc gave me a list of sayings to say to myself everyday. Things like "Why am I so happy?", "Why is my life so easy?", "Why do I have so much energy?" Which I usually say while I am lying on the couch feeling so tired!!!! lol

Nothing personal, mac, but those sound like stupid things to say!!! I would get demoralized if I had to say that to myself when I don't FEEL it. I'd rather say "What can MAKE me happy that I can do now?", "What would make my life easier right NOW that I can do today?" and "It's okay to not have energy because I DO like reading!"
When is your DD going back to Colorado? She's not going to be moving permanently into the new place....is she?
I remember the first spotty pics you posted of the cottage before reno, with all the over-growth and bushes and just run-down. Do neighbours get to see the reno too? Have you had any ghostly experiences since touching the place up?

Love the ducks, Chrissy!

Love the pictures Chris. Certainly an improvement from when we were there.
Made church today and this afternoon/evening will go to a concert in which DD1 is singing. I will have to get moving soon.
Big hugs

chrissy, our posts crossed, so just saw your ducky pictures.
My DD is planning on moving in the little place for a while. She is not planning on going back to CO. She wants to travel and figure out "what she wants to do." This island is kinda small and does not have lots of opportunities for young people, so I am glad she is checking some other places out.
Barbe, I know about those sayings! I am pretty sarcastic while saying them. I understand the concept behind the practice and know I should not be saying negative things to myself all day.
I spent most of today in bed, hopefully tomorrow will be better.

I stayed in bed all yesterday (Saturday), too. I probably will again today if there are no house viewings. I really killed myself staging the house and cleaning it. Now I am dearly paying for it. I feel no guilt when I lie in bed all day as I know I did WAY too much over the past couple of weeks. I have to be able to go to work. Vertigo is still a big issue. I am getting a second CT scan in September as I can't get an MRI (pacemaker) and my onc and I are hoping they will check even harder for something. Last time the report said "No convincing signs of mets." Well....does that mean there were some not-convincing signs??? They did mention what they thought was a "vein" on my orbital area. Well, hey, it's my eye giving me problems...what d'ya think?

Barbe you deserve to rest up in bed all weekend if that's what it takes to get you back on your feet for Monday.......you did indeed do way too much to get the house ready for listing. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the CT shows 'something' for you (hopefully clear) as you need to know what is anything is causing your eye problems and the vertigo. Can you do a PET? Just a thought as they can show a bit more if mets are involved.
It's unfortunate that you can't do the MRI because of your pacemaker as they really do show it all clearly.
Love n hugs. Chrissy

I did ask about a PET and she had already checked for me. She said a PET wouldn't be as sensitive as an MRI and would give results more like the CT. I've heard of a lot of gals on here having PETs with follow-up MRIs, so I get it. I certainly don't want a false-positive either! She said the chief oncologist has the same problem with one of his patients with a pacemaker. So at least I know she tried to get an answer.

True PETs can give a false positive so I've heard as I've never had one.......they are not used that often here, but I'm really glad that your onc has followed through and found out details. At least she has head of dept. to call on to discuss if she needs.
As I said Barbe, fingers and everything else is crossed for positive outcome.
Love n hugs. Chrissy
