Good idea Lisa!!! Come on, Chrissy, take a pic!! I'm impressed with the wi-fi but I guess it makes sense as mobile phones can post to email and FB, etc.

Took my camera round the garden. We have quite a number of orchids flowering, they are not perfect but I am so pleased with them as my garden has been very neglected and the make a show.

New drug is working on nerve pain but not on RA so joints still very painful.

    Big hugs to all.

I am back from Phoenix, prayers answered and DS is getting back to normal. They never did find what's wrong, did CT scan, pulmonary scope and biopsy, sonogram and a whole slew of blood cultures. He was released Saturday, feeling better, every test was negative for anything other than infection. Those are scary tests, And yes, he was glad his mom and sis came to see about him. It will take me a couple of days to recover from the long days and so much walking, but it's all worth it. Thanks for all your prayers, Wilsie

    Thank God, Wilsie!

I cannot imagine orchids growing in a garden! I always try to have some blooming in the house at different stages.

Chrissy, can't wait to see what you come up with with that beauty! What make is it?

Wilsie, I'm so glad to hear the news about your son!  What a big relief, as I'm sure you were worried to death.  Glad that you're safely back home.

Wow, Chrissy, that camera has all the bells and whistles!  Looking forward to the pictures you'll take too.

Alyson, it's good that the drug is at least  helping with the nerve pain.  Wish you could get something that would help with the RA.  The orchids are beautiful.  I never thought about growing them in a garden, only a greenhouse.  I have one inside that I'm trying to keep alive by not overwatering, which I usually end up doing.  This one gets 3 ice cubes/week on top of the soil, and so  far is okay.

Good to see you here, Brigadoon!

Yay Wilsie!!  That's good news that nothing nasty was found......such a relief!  We do tend to push things a bit when our kids are involved and it doesn't matter how old they are.  Time to take it easy and recuperate.

Aly those orchids are lovely!  I have never been able to grow orchids but my niece has a green thumb when it comes to getting them to flower.  What is the new nerve blocker you are on?  Glad it's working for you but really bummed that your RA is still giving you grief........I guess the cold isn't helping either.  Stay warm hon and sending really warm ((((hugs)))) to help.

Barbe the camera is the new Fuji X-E2 Mirrorless.  It is extremely light weight, about 13oz with lens, battery and SD card so easy for me to hold without shaking and that is one of the things that attracted me to it.  I have been out in the yard this afternoon snapping a few and will post once I work out how to set up the computer so it talks to the camera and vice versa......lol.......sometimes, as much as I love technology, it takes me a little while for it all to fall into line in my head.  Guess I'm just getting old and the brain cells don'e function like they used to.

Kathy I laughed when I read that you give your orchids three ice cubes a week.......lol......nothing like being very precise.........hahahaha!  Here's hoping that the three is enough to give you some results!

Hi ya Birgadoon, nice to see you!!

Well back to getting my head around this technology.......hahahaha!

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy

Orchids love me because I don't water until plants remind me. I have some Pothos (Philodendrons?) that will curl a bit at the ends in 10-14 days or so and then I go "oh!!", so everyone gets a water. I would worry the ice water would be too cold for roots that sit so close to the surface, no? I don't water a lot, but one of my orchids is years old and blooms almost constantly. Never direct sun, but a bright area and this one near a table lamp so it's a happy guy. I didn't notice when it first started to grow again because it had sent out it's branch behind the curtain and I didn't notice!

I am hopeless at keeping plants alive. What ever they need I tend to do the opposite. Just killed off 2 succulents. oops.

We have the US president visiting for a couple of weeks, so lots of activity with the press corp, lots of helicopters flying over head. Oh boy, just what we need more people on this little island.

barbe, have you heard of chalk paint? We have a woman that is going to come paint the beams and floor with chalk paint so they will look old right now. lol It is a water based paint with some waxes that can be mixed in or put on top of to get the distressed look. we made all the color decisions yesterday. Yay!!! now the work can continue. Also I did a happy dance when NStar showed up yesterday to hook up the electricity to the pole on the street. All this time I have had an extension cord running out my laundry room across the driveway to the other house. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Wilsie, yay for prayers answered for your son's renewed health!!!!! Now to get you back on track.

Aly, hope you get some more relief soon.

So remember how I am going to Austria for a wedding at the end of August? The bride flew over on Monday and somehow lost her passport on the way. She is stuck in Paris carrying her wedding gown around with her. It would be funny if it wasn't so frustrating. Her mom was over here yesterday trying to fax a copy of her passport to the embassy in Paris but the call would not go through. She feels really helpless. This is the woman that found a lump in her breast 2 weeks ago, had to wait a week for a mammo to find that it is a hormonal cyst. I rode that emotional wave with her. She's got just a bit of stress in her life right now. My life feels tame comparabley.

Okay, here are some of the things I know about Australia.

They were smart enough to pass gun control

    The people are very friendly.

    Colleen McCullough

    McLeod's Daughters

4 of the worlds most dangerous snakes (I am snake phobic and love VT because we have no poisonous ones.) I would be afraid to garden there (what a wuss I am).

A lot of great actors have come from there.

    Tommy Emanuel!!!

    Tell me more.

Thanks girls!  We have had so much rain this winter that every little and not so little hollow has filled and retained the water so we have loads of mini lakes.  That one is in the front of a farm house that I pass when I drive over to Clare (the closest shopping area).  Today as I passed there were loads of water fowl there so I turned around and grabbed the camera.  Unfortunately most of the water fowl took off but the light was perfect for the reflections so got some great shots.

    Glad you like it!

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy

Barbe those trees are deciduous poplars and won't be in leaf for another five or six weeks........that is if they haven't drowned due to being under water......lol.

I don't think they'll drown. They're water hogs. Mine are about 100 ft high.

Chrissy, keep the pictures coming!  I'd love to see one of the poplars when they have leaves.

    Yes, Nancy, what color?
