Goodness, Barbe. You have had more than your share of health challenges. Is there a lot of interest in your home that's for sale?

For some who remember Raenz, she posted this today.
Alix Rae Robinson 17 June 1990 - 31 August 2014.
My heart is broken -
my beautiful, intelligent, creative, funny, loving, athletic eldest
daughter was hit by a car and has died. A bright light has been taken
from the world and I am left to flounder in darkness.I have no words.

Oh my dear God! How does one live on after the death of their child. My hearts just breaks for her.....

Most will now know about the tragic accident that has taken Raeinnz's daughter. Have just created a thread called Rae's Angel on the Angel Threads. If
you knew Rae please go and post a message for her and when we have
several I will let her know to go and look.0 -
Alyson - I am so sad for you and all who knew her. I don't know what else to say.

There are no words for what Rae and her family is going through...........to lose a child is the worst of the worst........stage IV cancer is just a blip in comparison, I know as I have been where Rae is now.
I went to Clare the other day and the weather was damp and I raced the rain for the most part but did manage to snap a few shots.
Love n hugs all. Chrissy

Wow Nancy!!! That place looks like a fabulous place for a wedding.........so glad it all went off well for the bride, groom and guests. Best of all you are enjoying it and posting pics.....yay!!!!!
Sad day for Rae........she has been on my mind since I woke........she has a hard time ahead as she comes to terms with it all.
I have been busy doing a huge clean out in the bedroom and getting ready for the delivery of our new bed.........I am exhausted but need to go and prep for painting the bedside cabinets I picked up yesterday. They are a little rough around the edges but with a couple of coats of pain and some new handles they will end up looking pretty good. I have also decided to paint the built in robe to match so the room will look a little more co-ordinated. I would really like to paint the walls but that I think will be a little beyond me.
Take care all!

Lisa I will be a long time in the grave so might as well make the most of the time I have here........lol. I'm not being morbid, just realistic. I used to love doing all of this sort of stuff on a regular basis and that includes doing everything ceilings, walls the lot! That part is beyond me now but I can still push to get the little things done and looking the way I like.
It is coming into spring here and is the prettiest time of year with all the green from the rain and the yellow of the early flowering conola. As it warms up the colors go from the verdant green and gold to a lighter green and then to the yellow of ripening wheat . Once the wheat is harvested then we get the staw and brown earth at the height of summer. Always with the deep olive of the gum and with the older gum trees the almost black, the landscape around me is forever changing and is wonderful to photograph.........it seems with the change of light that the whole world is changing as well.......just lovely!

oh I feel so sad for Rae. (I don't think I know her) but the darkness of grief can seem endless.
yes, I'm having some great adventures. I have to remember to pace myself. We're in the mountains now. Yesterday we took a cable car up and then DD did some hiking further up. We are really well matched. She with her still healing hip and me being old and gimpy.

Wow Nancy! On yer girl! as we say in Aus.....lol. Can't believe you climbed a mountain! I'm lucky if I can walk a hill, Great pic! keep then coming as it seems so beautiful where you are.

The best weather we've had was the day of the wedding. It was so beautiful and such a wonderful young couple. We got delayed in Philadelphia because DDs passport expires in Nov so we had to stay an extra day to get an emergency one. They weren't going to let her outta Germany. Then the airport personnel went on strike In Frankfurt after we arrived so we had to catch a train to Vienna. The trains were running late so we finally made it to the town the wedding was in at 1 in the afternoon (the wedding was at 3) we were checking into our hotel when I caught the color of Debbie's shirt walking by outside. We hadn't been able to keep in touch. So I went running, yelling her name and she turned and started running toward me with her arms out stretched. no wonder most of the world thinks of us as crazy Americans.

lol chrissy, did you miss the part about the cable car. I sat on a bench while DD went on to the top. She is threatening to get me some walking sticks. We did hike down for a bit, then got back on the car. Most of my pics are on my phone but I'll see if I can transfer some more today while we're on the train to Hallstatt.
I do have to say I am amazing myself, I just keep up with my inhaler.

Yup Nancy, missed the bit about the cable car......lol.......no matter, I still couldn't keep up with you! The trip sounds like a wonderful adventure........just think, if nothing went wrong the whole thing could be really boring and that is no way to have a holiday.......those little incidences keep life interesting and us on our toes......hahahaha!
For pics from your phone they are looking pretty good to me. Can't wait to see more. I hear you on the inhaler, I have them everywhere!
Well I have one cabinet sanded and undercoated......the other will have to wait until tomorrow as my back is telling me that maybe I over did but I know I will sleep well tonight and that's for sure!

chrissy, I think you are like me, wanting your space to be settled. I push myself to get "things" just right, too. Once the cabinets are done you'll have such a feeling of accomplishment.
We are in Hallstatt now. A beautiful lake surrounded by mountains. It is a photographer's heaven. Every time you turn around there is a picture to be taken. I will certainly remember this trip. And not just for the travel glitches. We saw a concert in Vienna that was delightful. And we did the Sound of Music tour in Salzburg on a rainy day. Hopefully we'll get to a salt mine tomorrow. We already bought bath salts and DD is taking a bath now. Yes, this hotel has a bathtub. I can't wait to soak my weary bones.

hi all! I'm at our local historic railway station doing my little bit as a volunteer guide. It's a beautiful day and I bought my camera with me so shall take some pics before I leave. It is the same place my DD got married last year.
My day has been busy and I have spent half the time restling with the vacuum cleaner........ Some bright spark has been using it bit never cleaned the filter so everything was sort of cemented together. I finally got it apart and cleaned it is now sitting I the sun drying and I have to use the broom........agh!!!! Just 35 minutes to go and I can head off home.......with a little luck, the filters will be dry so I can wiz the vac around so it looks like I've done something.......lol.
Nancy I do like things organised around me although some might think its chaos.....lol.....but I know where everything is. When I get home it will be time to start on the second cabinet and hopefully it will be undercoated before days end........that would mean that tomorrow will be top coat day......yay! I will be doing two so I have a nice finish and will be giving the cabinets a light sand between coats.......can't wait until they are finished!
Have a good day all!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Mmmm Lisa, sounds like things have just not gone to plan.........don't you just hate days like that?
Well I did manage to get the second cabinet done and the first coat on the one I did yesterday so I'm a happy tired lady.....lol.....another night of sleeping well coming up I think. I took a couple of pics of where I was so you can see.
This is the front side and the next one is the train side.
I was out the back in the courtyard doing the drawers and thought that the ranuculas looked so pretty I just had to take a pic and share......lol.
Have a great day all!

Chrissy, I am so happy that you are headed towards spring. Love the flowers and am looking forward to more. Our days are starting to get shorter as we head to autumn. I have always been a spring/summer person.

chrissy that is a beautiful train station. I love how people can be so friendly. I would love to be able to talk to you about your history. lol I meant your train station's history.
Lisa, hopefully things will improve.
this is the view I woke up to this morning.
My DD's leg is hurting this morning so I get a rest.
Edited to add: it takes me so long to post pics that the last two posts slipped in beforehand

FAB view!! Would love to see it in sunshine, too...

chrissy,I was looking at your pix and thought of these being kinda the same coloration
this was Temecula CA in our almost spring, the yellow was wild oats I think
0 -
Lisa they do sort of throw the same coloring but that would be late spring coming into summer here. Those mountains a gorgeous! ours are mere hills by comparison and add such depth to your pics.
What I found when I was there, is that there are a lot of Australian Gum Trees in California.......I guess it's because they are very adaptable to climate and CA is very similar to parts of Aus as far as climate goes.
