JWoo- I have had some abdominal bloating off and on since the summer and worry about my liver. Got checked out by PCP and MO this summer and told nothing they could feel. I was worried about my liver. MO says before liver shows any signs of things, enzymes go wonky first. Liver enzymes were fine at July check up. Anyways, I still have issues with it off and on and will ask about it in my next check up. I suspect my problems are more GI related in the end.
Have you had any ultrasounds or other tests?

Chevy, your Lacee was beautiful. My two dogs eating grass were an Appenzell Mountain Dog (Tris) and a Bodeguero Ratonero Andaluz (Hernanda). Those two loved each other. Here is Hernie getting busy licking his teeth. Sadly, we lost Tris.
Then came Houston, the Golden Retriever. He is now a year old and still too silly for Hernie. The glowing eye picture is a flash picture, it just came out like that, green and orange eyes!
Jazzy, I have allergies and asthma too. Dogs not so bad, I just take extra inhaler. Horses were deadly for me, then I discovered hypoallergenic curly horses - my dream come true.

Jazzy, perfect! I know it's tough to have a pet when you have asthma/allergies. No worries about feeding, wiping its butt and private after pee or poo, or sending it to boarding when you leave town. I have a mild allergy (itchy nose and eyes) to Mitzy.
MammaRay, I read that swimming is good for whole brain learning.Both of my girls have been swimming since 4 and are doing well in school. They both have problems focusing (take after me) and I believe that their swimming have helped them. Well, maybe playing piano has also helped. Both of these activities force them to use both side of the brain.

Split bean- is that a bernese mountain dog? Those are my favorite breed. Met a beautiful one in Italy once. Seem to be popular in Europe?

Almost, it's an Appenzell Mountain Dog. The Berners (or Berner Sennenhunde, as they are called here) are more popular with town people because they are fluffy and not so hyper. I loved my Tris. He was a real one-woman dog, absolutely completely devoted to me. This picture is a bit washed out but it shows his curled tail.

thanks blessings. It been 1-1/2 years since I started the program. Keeping most of the weight off. Need to drop about 8 lbs and stay there. Seems to be hard to do. I'm working on it!

Appenzell dogs were bred to herd cows in the mountains. (Bernese dogs were used to pull the cheese carts.) Tris is wearing a traditional Appenzell collar showing an Appenzell dog and his master (the "Senner") walking behind the cows.

Chevy, you vixen ...sliding around in those armorals. Yes, Chevy Zebra. There's at least 6. Not sure why anyone would want domesticated Zebra's, they don't do anything, but eat and poop. Maybe they have special poop. Florida is covered with wild pigs. They reproduce like crazy. Di(my cleaning gal). says it year round hunting for wild pigs because of that and they are destructive to the environment. She's shot one not long ago and gutted it. Then cooked it. She's an all around girl.
The last time I took Shat's to the dog park she was attacked. Cost around 200$. Many irresponsible owners. The small dog side was just the opposite. Dogs played nice.
The road they run on is a dead end road. Part of it is dirt. The only traffic is to the two farms and the Sheriff's ranch. We don't run them if anyone else is walking their dogs. Lot's of rules.

Loverly, You got the very reason I suggested same size dogmate for Mitsy. Seen too often that the smaller dog rules the larger dog. Mitsy's too insecure to have another dog rule her. She needs a mothering dog that can soothe her. Collie or collie mixes are very nice for mothering.
We can't upload video's can we? I so enjoy watching them run and sniff. They are just so happy.

Thanks ladies. I've talked to my MO, and GP, and no one seems to think it is anything. But, that can't be right. I;m not a hypochondriac. I have to find a new GP this year, so will ask them about it.

I've had the same sharp, irregular pain ever since chemo. just a bit below my ribs, kinda to the side, on the left, closer to the outside of my body. It has never gone away. None of my doctors really seem concerned about it, but, it hurts. And it wasn't there before."
The structures under that area are the spleen, large colon--splenic flexure which is the turn from the transverse colon to the descending colon.. But sharp irregular pain fits more of a nerve pain. They're 31 pairs of spinal nerves. Each affects a specific area. Take a look at the pic and see if you can pinpoint the area. they're is bunch of questions I could ask. Actually working on a pain thread developing this kind of thing.
Sometimes a nerve can be entrapped. What hurts in front may be a nerve that has a problem in the back. It would take a pain doc to determine cause and treatment. The docs are ignoring it b/c they don't know. "Not their body part". If it was a problem with the spleen or colon that would have been picked up by the CT scan.
If it's not interfering with your life, not having to take meds to control pain, and docs can't see anything on your imaging, you may just want to ignore it. If it worries you, I would suggest a pain doc. Ever hear of Trigger Point? Treatment is Trigger Point injections. You can get a referral to a Pain Doc and have them do an evaluation. Not all pain docs are equal in skill. Of the 5 that I observed their evaluations and treatments, only two were exceptional at diagnosing and treating problems. One sucked. The other two were okay, but not in the same class as the exceptional docs.
Just saw HI1's post. The type of pain she's describing is from adhesions. Scar tissue formation. It can be the type of pain you are describing. Adhesions don't show up on imaging. Can be nasty buggers. Abdominal ahhesions don't form unless there is scarring from surgery or pelvic inflammatory disease. So if each of those aren't in the history, then adhesions could be ruled out.
Ovaries are further down in the pelvis. They are nicely protected by the pelvic girdle. Your description is higher.

Jwooo sorry about Blueberry. I still think about all my dogs too. Max and Cindy, I suppose the most. Max was a Britt. Cindy was a pure bred Collie. Jwoo were you on STFU with those of us that were there? I did a survey that started just this way. Multiple people had their animals alert them to something being wrong. They're is research going on in different areas of the world re: cancer and detection by animals.

J, Blueberry looks like an Aussie? Love your crew. Been having fairly consistent upper right quad pain. Scared it was liver. PCP sent me out for US, nothing anywhere. Whew! But it still hurts. So PA suggested Miralax. What a difference!!
Like Sas said, a pain doc can do trigger point injections. I used to get them in my scapular area. Really helped. Then new pain doc suggested Botox. Some insurance hassles, got 13 Botox injections one day. One more visit 6 months later, I haven't had that kind of pain since. Good stuff. That's been 8-10 years ago.

Spookie, Only worked with one Proctologist in the OR. Before each surgery while draping the patient. He would take the filler paper and make a paper airplane. Then fly it. No one ever said a word, or tried to figure out his mental health. We just figured he needed a diversion from dealing with assholes all the time.

I've had a recurring pain in the stomach area since April, more middle to right side. Taking Zantex since May. Does help. Never had heartburn. Had a scan and they looked with a camera. Didn't find anything. After February I'm going to ask GP about still having a problem. It woke me up today at 5:30 then couldn't get back to sleep. Grrrrrr!
