Me and ds's have had fun for spring break. Nothing huge but just being together has been nice. I always wake up in pain but get going I feel better. I think the last few days without resting has caught up to me today. Been up like 3 hours and still no pain relief. Ugh good thing dh took off today to do some stuff with the boys. I think I'll take my psin med and lay back down.

Oh MammaRay, that is no place to be in constantly. No peace and rest with that icky state of mind. Some drugs can push you there, especially anti-hormone, anti-depressants, and seizure meds. Vent any time. Hugs

Jazzy, I remember winds like that in Oklahoma. I once had an uninsured contact lens wash out of my eye due to grit. Fortunately it stuck to my lipstick. Whew! We used to say it was Colorado blowing in.

Wren44 that is, the contact lens stuck to your lipstick? (I can well imagine the grit stuck in spades.)

Mamma, vent anytime, Ever try a primal scream. It's a cry with screaming. Scream into a pillow and you won't loose your voice. No clue why it works that way. Without the pillow I once lost my voice for several days. Some sort of instinct said to use the pillow. No lost voice. Do it when no ones around. When I needed it, it was always amazing how I felt afterwards. Hard to explain, but it was better. I was drained of the bad.
Jazzy those wind speeds here are defined as : A tropical storm is a tropical cyclone with maximum sustained winds of at least 34 knots (39 mph or 63 kph). Tropical storms are given official names once they reach these wind speeds. Beyond 64 knots (74 mph or 119 kph), a tropical storm is called a hurricane, typhoon, or cyclone based on the storm location. Sheesh, nasty storm.

Hi ladies- my lungs feel a bit less raw today. The winds were up but no dust. Everyone at work is as sick as a dog from allergies, wind/dust, you name it. We share kleenex, cough drops. aromatherapy oils that help us to breathe. I am in good company with this.
MammaRay- I am sorry you are having a tough time right now. Rant away here, we understand.

Morning Owlies, We are having weird weather. It's been as low as 46 and into the 50's. Back to long pants and sweatshirts.
Meadow the milkglass for the cousins DIl. She is very much a collector. I found a pitcher and 8 tea glasses matched set for 15$. R.C had a price of 8$(64$)a glass and 34$ for the pitcher and a snack set 3 plates 85 cents ea. and 6 cups a 1$ a piece. One place had the complete set of 6 at 50$ and another at 100$.She was so funny she packed it on her back to fly home. I could hardly carry them in. How you feeling?
Patty which recipes did you try? They had a slew of slow cooker recipes. The snack recipes hmmmmmm. Did you see the Smores tart? I bet the boys would love it. You could substitute a premade graham cracker crust and melt some marshmallows in a double boiler for the merangue. Less work.

mammaray, we all go there. Meds sometimes take awhile to get in your system, and sometimes they are not the right ones. My fav is Valium, but I don't think you can take it regularly I use it in extreme anxiety break down, works in 20 minutes or less. Enters system quick. Only had to use it a handful of times in 4 years.
Also my counselor helped a ton....who retired recently!!! He had some nerve:)
If I can function in some level, like walking or biking, doesn't have to be my marathon stuff, I feel better emotionally , not great, I mourn what I can't do anymore, but still a bit better. It been a long time since I have been out doing that stuff, so this winter I too was in a mess of a funk. I somewhat held it together, but internally I was mad at everyone. I have walked twice now, and got my screen porch set up, so my moods are better. Chemo yesterday, so I will be in a bad mood and angry till Sunday, amazing how people stay clear of me. Not even a call or text from anyone. They must call me crazy sue around this time. I can hardly walk down steps for those days, so I am really really pissed. But I am back to normal Sunday afternoon, and should keep that perspective in my head but don't. Oh well, the life of a cancer patient.
I am do for my tests in the next couple weeks. First time in 15 years I don't want to know . Last 4 years no chemo lasted more than 4 months. Ripping through to quickly and that is shortening my life span. The one I am on now, I have been on for 15 months..yeahhhhh I don't want to know if it stopped working. Gotta go anyway. That might be a Valium day.

Susan, please forward these to Claire. I ran into the NYT's article when it first was printed. Then forgot. I posted them yesterday on the weight thread. Few plan on C-sections, but then things happen. It would be nice for Claire and Andrew to be able to at least discuss it. Thanks.

No name yet, weighs about 5 lbs. About 14 inches. Has a cut little lid for the middle. Nice leaded crystal. Stupid seller on ebay doesn't have a clue to origin and slaps an 80$ price on it.
Reunion by Cristal D'Arques-Durand. I found two of these, thought the kids could use them on the wedding table. Scrolled for hours trying to find them and gave up. Bummer neither pic does them justice. They are really elegant.
