Susan & Queenie ~ The ending of The Life of Pi has different meanings to different people. I found this person's interpretation beautiful.......

"Actually, it IS about one's belief in God. Does one believe in something that is unbelieveable or one that is logical in one's mind? For faith is to believe with one's heart and not one's head. Faith is to believe in the unbelieveable. And so it goes with God. That is what makes a believer."

    😇

Susan ~ Cool beans ! Very clever the way your veggies are boxed in. Everything looks so pretty!

Queenie ~ Who are we to tamper with Mother Nature's organic UV protection? Yup, silly to worry about those windows :)

Susan, I love it when our pup friends are ready to go to bed with us! My DH was out of town one weekend so I was very shocked to find a big warm body next to me in bed! My Chocolate Lab Abbey-Gail had climbed into bed with me for the first time ever! I almost had a heart attack!!

    Good Evening Ladies,

I had my first post-op appt. w/ surgeon. Went well. I'd post a pic of my healing incision, but don't think that would be appropriate. TMI.

Hadn't had a good cup of coffee for the last 11 days, so I went to the hospital coffee bar. Yummmmm! However the walking about did me in. Pain level shot up to an 8. Ugh!

When I got back to SNF took pains meds and just wanted to rest, but Pfizer called and I spent an hour on the phone discussing the fact that I'd had surgery and all my meds. Then the P.T. showed up to torture me more. Bawling

Smaarty - I will be here until approx. July 5th. Despite the processed food I need this time to transition to home.

Have a wonderful time in Lake Tahoe. North or South? I lived in South Lake Tahoe in my mid-twenties. Worked at Harrah's Casino.

Shep - Prison break, nice one. Glad your foot is looking better. I've never tried the lavender oil Jazzy suggested, but have used the Arnica Loverly spoke of. Great stuff. Hope what ever you choose, you'll have good results.

Love your John Deere. I want one. Is it turbo charged? Zoom Zoom!

Still haven't found that crib blanket either. So frustrated with myself sometimes. Hate wasting time looking for stuff.

Holeinone - Sorry to hear of your progression.

Susan - my jaw just dropped when I read what Claire's MIL said to you. But since I've never been married I don't have any great words of wisdom, but so glad you had the opportunity to speak with Claire and express your heart.

Garden is very nice. How long until you get to harvest the fruits of your labor?

I'm gonna shoot this phone pretty soon here. The auto- correct is driving me nuts! It turned "driving" into "drinking", "fruits" into "frits" Ugh!

Feline - the Puffins are beautiful. Your trip sounds like a lot of fun.

Sensi - Sorry your first day back was so challenging, but each day will get better.

    Chance looks very comfortable.

Queenie - loved your response to Susan about the MIL debacle.

One of the Occupational Therapist's told me he has a "Borgi" I said "A What?" As it turned out that's a border collie + corgi. Pretty cute dog, but I just can't fathom how they did that. Which one was the dad, which one the mom?

Well I think I'm caught up for now and pain meds are kicking in, so I'm gonna crawl into bed. Nighty Nite Ladies. Hope you all enjoy a restful nights sleep.

shepkitty, foot looks better. Tinker is mostly fine. Very little blood in his urine and not much calcification which is a good thing. She did say something was off on his blood work, so should bring him back in, in 2-4 weeks. Also should bring in the other cats to see which one had the bloody urine. Nobody has does it again since Friday.

Susan, you're holding Elena and we didn't get a pic?? How could you, instead we get beans :(

So I finished the main project I took, Ben's quilt for the shower in August. Turns out it hard to find Peter Rabbit fabric. Luckily a friend had some and the backing fabric and wasn't going to use it. These are fabric panels and embroidered designs. Too late tostart something tonight and I'm too tired to think about it.

Very nice here, in the low 80s. At home it 100s.

Junie I hope your fatigue is better today. Surgery takes so much out of us, glad to hear you are able to walk the hallways. Don't let the PT do you in. I'm like you can not go without a good cup of coffee.

Shep your foot looks less bruised and the swelling has gone down, your flowered band is stunning. The John Deer ride looks styling.

Loverly that is a beautiful picture of bioluminescent phytoplankton, where does this occur. Would love to see that someday, as well as Puffins.

Susan lovely pictures of your garden everything looks healthy and thriving. The comment that your daughter's MIL made was inappropriate and insensitive.

My dog has slept with me for fifteen years, until he fell off the bed in February. He now sleeps on the floor, I have to say a get a better nights sleep.

Sensi he looks so comfy and yes he does take up the whole bed.

Smarty you certainly can whip out those quilts fast, Benjamin will love it. I spend more time deciding what to do. I ordered some quilting books from Amazon last weekend, and popped into the quilt store and saw the same book was 50% more .

Lookie - Have you ever checked out the "Missouri Star Quilt Company"?

They sell fabrics, but also have many tutorial videos on youtube. Free to see.

Smaarty - Have you ever checked out Fabric.com? They sell tons of fabrics at much more reasonable prices than quilt shops.

And I think they may have some of the Peter Rabbit fabric.

    Shep - nightmare pic. Shocked

Groin pain quite significant since surgery. One of the points of this surgery was to replace and adjust the hardware so the tendons wouldn't get irritated. Well still waiting for the lack of irritation. Called surgeons office today. Hope it will resolve in time.

Oh yeah, Shep, how's the foot today?

"still waiting for the lack of irritation" - JazzyJune I am so glad to see that the pain hasn't killed your great sense of humour! Hope you will be feeling the benefits of the surgery soon.

Junie thank you for the information. I just checked out Missouri Quilt Co. I will definitely will be watching the videos. Have you ordered fabric from Fabric.com.? I'm paying !6.00 to 20.00 per meter here. Wishing you a lack of irritation in the near future.

Forward, I think that picture was taken in one of the island in Maldives. Here is a list of places where you can find the phytoplankton at certain times of the year.

    http://matadornetwork.com/trips/15-places-to-see-b...

I had a good chuckle reading about your dog sleeping mishap. Poor thing.

ShepK, either your baseboard is huge or you have dainty feet. They do look cute. You know who has pretty feet? Jazzy! Wait or is it Hiho? I still remember the pretty red nail polish and the green sandals. No, I am not scared of puppets. Maybe ugly clowns and ventriloquist dummies, but not animal puppets.

Susan, you have a green thumb! Love how simple and easy maintenance your vegetables garden looks. I'm jealous. This is my pathetic planter box. imageBaby tomato, basil, and supposedly bean plants are not thriving. I had sprouts of lettuces but the darn slugs and snails got to them before they even got a chance. My veg garden never look like the ones in Sunset or Better Homes and Garden magazine :(

JunieB, you have hardware near your what?? Oh my dear! Two more weeks before you go home? Praying for speedy healing and much less pain than before you went in for surgery.

    Love the Beatrix Potter quilt.

Sensi, give the old man Chance a break. You have plenty of room on the side

Smaarty the quilt looks great!  Can you please bring the Tahoe weather back home with you......I feel like I'm melting here in Sac.

Lover- can I run away with you. I want to go where there is beaches and sand!!

And in other news.... I finally heard from my MO.  Sent her an email last week and resent it last night after I hadn't heard back from her.  More waiting, but at least I've got the ball rolling on the Oncotype test.  I don't want to go into an early meno-pause at 42, but I'm also really concerned with the Tamoxifen and NF and my low ER+ status!  Any input or thoughts ladies?

    Hi Brandi,
I apologize. This message just got forwarded to me.
The 3 endocrine (hormone blocking) options include: 1. Tamoxifen, a pill that you take daily for 10 years; 2. A monthly shot, called a LHRH or GnRH agonist, which interferes with signals to your ovaries and makes you chemically postmenopausal. Remember, this option is reversible. 3. Surgical removal of your ovaries, which is permanent.
You will definitely receive some form of endocrine therapy.

I will ask my nurse to begin the process to run the Oncotype DX assay. We usually get the results in about 3 weeks with authorization. I will ask the clinic to set up an appointment with me, after the Oncotype DX assay results are in, hopefully by mid July.

Loverly- those were my feet with the green sandals last year. For some reason, I have not found those sandals yet but am "mining the closet" right now.

I read something today that it is 165 degrees in Iran.

    imageSassy's MIl Sue

HoleInOne. I came to the thread tonight. This meme above was the first thing I saw. I changed it for this post to my MIl. She was the biggest Biatch till the day she died. From the moment we were married till her end literally. Yet I made sure there were frequent visits. Mostly weekly. All holidays and birthdays for all the family. The family all treated me poorly. I learned to take a book.

Greg's last visit with his mom. We flew from Florida to Ohio. She was in a locked Alzhiehmers unit. Very progressive humane unit. We stayed from Mon till Thursday morning. We visited. But she was not aware. BUT on Wed. it was dropped. that she was better in the early morning. I thought late at night while everyone was sleeping. Thurs. I made everyone get up at 6am --two hours ahead of schedule. I said just get ready and called to the unit. I said have her dressed and ready to go to the garden. It was accomplished. Greg talked with a coherent Mom. She talked with her grandson Stephen, and my friend that she had known for 20 years. Me she glared at and wouldn't say hello. Her seething look at me. I could have responded. Sue you hated me all our lives Why? But let it go.

Over the years after her death. Greg thanked me at times for that last visit with his Mom in the garden with birds about that she dearly loved and her DGS and Loved son. I never told him of her seething look or no words for me. I know I did good, but I seriously would have liked to tell her what I thought of her and what pain she brought to my life. Considering I left a humungous loving family 3 hours away.

In a do over, I would have made Greg move to Michigan. I just kept expecting them to be nicer. They were awful in the beginning and it never changed.

Whew that was nice to get said.
