Susan3 awww, goes all mooshy at cute baby pictures
Lover: what Shepkitty said--I do read the personal posts on places such as BCO as more conversational in tone than, say a poster in an institution which shall remain nameless which listed a class "Buisness 215"
Shepkitty: (does spit take at the 'postcard') I've already done a partial proof of my student handbook and one of my textbooks.
Feelingfeline: I'd so be scribbling furiously in the church fliers too. Or simply offer my services to them....
Jazzy: I do wish my oncology team had made a bigger deal of PTSD way back in the beginning; I had a flip-out panic attack in the Y after my first annual mammogram, post diagnosis. I've been a member of this Y for twenty years, and found nothing but kindness there, so I could at least realize that this really is all in my head, that there couldn't possibly be anything to fear. But still have the occasional hiccup in the shower area.

feline. Great pics. How elegant. Awesome talent
Susan oh my. She is so adorable. Love all the pics but esp the one with dad. Too bad they can't stay this cute and small. Unfortunately they turn in to teenagers. Ouch !! Ready for dss's to move to the next part of life. Lol

feelingfine, gorgeous pics. I used to dance. It's my first love. Wish I could see her in person to. I could watch dance all day.
Nice comment on elenas feet. They better start growing into duck feet...lol her head is in the 70%, and body 30%. I don't know how she is going to balance that out....ha ha. She holds her head up beautiful side to side. But straight on, only for a few seconds. Gotta get some stronger muscles in that neck, and she hates tummy time....screams the whole time. I would to if my head was so heavy....haha.
I am going to try to fat some cooking done for a friend who had surgery . Then bed time till Sunday
Claire got a sub job at the school affiliated with her church. I get to babysit all dat on those days. She has 2 scheduled so far . She has to have a 2 day notice silo I can rearrange clients. Thingscarevworkingbout great for them. Hard to settle into a new place and find new friends. It's all falling into place. Another thing I don't have to worry about anymore. Us moms take on a lot don't we.

OMD Feline she is gorgeous!

Claire, 2 days a week---Heaven. She is soooo beautiful. If the doc can make a referral to a PT for Elena, There may be some things they can eval and suggest. I know our lives were different as polio toddlers b/c of the SR(nurse) Kenny method of treatment which was the start of Physical therapy. Based on your description sounds like she might be feeling neck and back muscle strain. Sounds logical a PT would be able to definitively eval................Maybe she was affected by the Akiz virus. Very tasteless pun.
Loverly, and Quennie, I love the old Gallagher shows when he does those word things then he finishes by taking off his hair and smashes a watermelon.
Queenie, have you ever thought of technical writing. A friends sister got a job right out of college around 2000 and walked into a 60,000$ job. It's not the most creative job, but pays well b/c of the legal consequences of poorly written technical material. Probably could be done from home too, as it would all be computer based.

Sadly I am not a dancer those pictures make me want to try, pure joy.
Loverly - glad your native/uni boob is still doing its thing during yes I know what! While I didnt test positive for BRCA my mom died of BC so theres that. I will do a bilateral, my post was just wondering out loud about doing them one at a time to help radiated righty boob heal better. Will ask the surgeon on Monday for advice on that.
Susan3 - yes the waiting after each test is terrible, I will be glad to be done with that. Or the lovely mamo call backs, ugh just shoot me. Plus the non cancer side will not get the extra screenings my cancer side has been getting that detected the current DCIS. Love your admission about being a peeker and read-aheader, you are a girl thats just gotta know!
Shepkitty - Thank you but dont feel bad, it could be worse. I'm glad to have options and ways to educate myself to try for the best outcome. In my moms case years ago you just got what you got, who knew back then to ask about options and possible outcomes etc.
My proofreading pet peeve .... the little headlines at the bottom of the TV screen during newscasts. Is it just my local channels that post important headlines with typos?
Happy Friday eve ladies!

susan. How geeT they moved close enough for you to get to babysit. That rocks !
Jean. I only had cancer in one boob but did uni. Just so many people I knew would finish tx on one on to find out now it was in the other boob. Also for me it was better looking. It was back in 2002 and I don't think they even had genetic testing available back then. My mom had had 1 breast removed a long time ago and struggled with what she wore. I could go bra less with an undershirt or use a bra and prothesis. Which ever i felt like. It was a ! MAJOR recovery !!!! But well worth one surgery and 1 recovery for me. I had a latissimus Doris flap reconstruction about a year later. After radiated areas were completely healed. Also I have had feeling come back in both breast. Not sure it is exactly the same feeling since it's been so long. But is still sensitive + in a good way - and very much sensual to me. Just my two cents worth. Everyone is different.
Sas. I see you are still staying busy keeping bco alive. Yea !! Love ya
Hugs to all.
Hootie hoo from chatty patty

wow Patty, great your feeling came back. I had a free tram. So I don't think you get feeling back with that. I only have one nerve / blood supply going to the breasts. I still after 16 years feel electrical shoots once in awhile, nerves looking for connections.
Sas, I think Elena is fine...just making a funny on her head size. She is not even five months yet. I think around the five month mark they hold there head up all the time. Claire sent me a video today on tummy time. She had her head lifted up the whole time with a smile on her face. So she is getting there.
I babysit 8 hours a week from Friday. Pray I have the energy to get through it, and that Elena is ok away from mom that long, and that claire is ok away from Elena that long. Gonna be an emotional day I think.

Got through all my cooking today for my friend who just had back surgery. Yeah me. Now I sleep for two days. Yeah me again. I need it now.
Anyone out there who prayers, send some up for me that there is nothing wrong with my heart . Having problems breathing when I do steps or bike...stuff that hadn't bothered me before. Had the lungs all checked out yesterday, they are good. Now a stress test and Eco on my heart. My sensible daughter said.....maybe it's just six years on chemo and you need to slow down.....not sure I know how to do that . Friend thinks it's asthma...but I recover to quickly I think for it to be asthma . Anyway...prayers would be appreciated.

susan. Stopping now to pray for you. Yes Elena is still within normal for her age. My ds2 had a huge head we adopted him at three months and several people thought he had down syndrome just because his big head. For positive. Biological Mon did drugs while pregnant and while breast feeding. We went to so very many drs. Locally and at two different children's hospital several hours away. Everything was fine. In fact he is way above average for intelligence . Before he was two e was asking questions like what is a abstract painting? Knew his alphabet at about two. Was reading on a 3 Rd grade level when entering kindergarten. Ds1 is two grades seas of him and he would listen when we did ds1 homework and most of the times He would come up with the answer first. Drove ds1 crazy He did run into a lot of things when he started walking. Bless his heart his big head hit this one wall we have so many times we ended up putting up some foam mattress stuff. He hates to be reminded of his big head. I tell him it was because is brain was so big. Lol. He finally grew into , somewhat. He wears a bigger that then dh. Lol

funny. I see a lot of big and small heads in body proportion in my hairdressing. Wet hair doesn't camouflage the head. But our dry hair hides a lot..lo

I wear a larger hat size than DH. Most women's hats are too small. He bought me a really cute gardening hat a few years ago and it just won't go on.
0 -
Wren I am another "big head" too. Got some great hats from a US cancer supplies place called 'Headcovers' when I was bald, their hats were extra roomy to cover the complete head, and these are the hats I still wear. DS is another. Always had to buy adult size bike helmet, hats etc when he was a kid.

Good Morning!!!
What privilege it is to live here in America!

This is an old heartwarming story. I heard it for the first time this morning on NPR while on my way to drop DD2 off for swim practice and wanted to share. On 9/11 we not only saw the worst of humanity, but also the actions that restored our faith.

Feline, thank you for the photos of DD in action! So graceful and lovely.
WildT, are you recovering?
JeanQ, hope you can gather all the necessary info to make the best decision for yourself.
Susan, maybe your friend is right about the asthma. Well at least that is what we hope. Are you retaining water? Swollen feet?
JunieB, is the dark cloud following you? Are you behaving yourself?
Hello to my other friends.

Susan hope you are doing ok.

Hi ladies, I am finally recovering from my illness that started a week ago. It ended up being bronchitis or pneumonia. I went to Dr Wed and got antibiotics, but had bad SE's so called in and got a new one yesterday. I didn't have a voice for two full days this week, and that was a challenge because I was supposed to be training in a new person at work. I still have some coughing and a headache, but I think I've been without a fever for two days now!
Today was the memorial service for my ex father in law. My kids and I had to leave at 9 am and after visitation, service, and luncheon people gathered at ex in laws house. I was invited back to the house, stayed a couple hours and didn't get home until after 5 pm. My kids are now with their dad. It was such a loud, long day..glad to have some quiet. I have 4 nieces in their 20's from that side of the family, and it was really nice to see all of them! Before we left this AM I had a neighbor come over and take a picture of me and kids all dressed up.
More to come!

Trying to catch up, as I've mostly been reading.
Susan, your grand baby is SO cute! How are you doing?
Lori, How was the infusion this week? I'm so sorry about what you are going through with your Mom. It's hard when you are put in the position of being unable to care for others. I hope you are taking good care of yourself!!
Sensi, how are you feeling?
Susan, Loverly, Sas, Thank you for your concern about me.
Shep, I loved when you said, "If a shoes drop, just pick them up so nobody trips." And I'll take man from pic # 1 please!!
Queenie, that's awesome that you are going to school. I'm also about 30 years out of HS and currently assessing what my next step is going to be. I cannot continue the same work for much longer, and need to figure out a direction, and perhaps educate/get some training.
Jazzy, I hope you are having fun with your friend. Wow...5lbs in one months is a good, steady amount of weight loss. Good for you!!
Feline, BEAUTIFUL pics of your DD! She must be an amazing dancer.
Loverly, I'm going to watch the 9/11 stories now. Thanks for posting!

JunieB: Are you ok? ShepK has danced so hard to lure you out, but we still did not see you! Hope you are just resting, and no more dislocation of the hip.
Tulip, your twins are so different, they are lovely. Love to see your son still hug you like that!
Loverly, yes, I went to school and worked in San Francisco before moving to Texas. Don't like highway 5, but it's the easiest way to go to LA.
I read but don't post often ( only when the wind turns this direction).Hi to other Owlettes.

Hello Ladies,
I am here. Just been kinda out of sorts and tired. Since my ANC didn't rebound during my last week off of the Ibrance (my count was only 1.14 when I restarted) I'd guess it is pretty low right now. I have bloodwork due next Wednesday.
I have checked in a couple times, but only read some posts. Since my last treatment on Aug 31st I've been having the darnedest time with insomnia, but no energy. I'd be sleepy, but the minute I laid down I'd be wide awake. Been getting to bed about 5 a.m. - 7 a.m., and sleeping 5-6 hours. Last night was the same.
Anyway, today is day 27 and NO hip dislocations. YEAH! Muscles & ligaments, etc are still painful, but after three weeks of using the wheelchair I started walking with my walker again. Fibromyalgia is kicking my behind too. I am behaving myself and so far so good. Do not want to experience that pain again.
Loverly - Glad you had a good visit with you daughter. When I was a kid, Saturdays were house cleaning day, but my Mother did let me watch Scooby-Doo and I think one other cartoon before she turned the TV off and had me help her.
Sorry Shep for missing your dancing :0) Miss Pris does have you wrapped around her little paw. But she's so cute, how can you resist? The pic of the Yorkie with her hu-Man, so cute.
Puppy porn! Shep, you're so naughty! Did you read that I called the breeder and she said that the mating of her dogs took place about 3 weeks ago. So just waiting for the another 6 weeks for the birth to see how many males there are.
Who ever posted that pic of the zebra on the giraffe, that was cute. However I missed the meaning of the camel being in the way and had to have a 20 something explain it to me. Oh well.
Sensi - I hope your treatment is going well. Great pic of Chance taking care of you.
WildT - Are your kiddos doing better? Everyone looks great in your pic.
Feline - The pics of your daughter dancing are breathtaking.
Queenie - Congrats on going back to school. Before I was dx'd with the Mets, I had gone back to finish my degree for Medical Records & Coding. But apparently it wasn't meant to be. Instead now I'll just focus now on getting my puppy trained to go visit hospital/rehab centers (if I actually get one this time).
Thanks Teka for the cute little owlies.
Susan - How was your Elena day? She is getting more adorable as she grows. Are you feeling okay? Also, I really don't understand why in the world your family would expect you to shower after your run. You & Claire looked cute with all that paint on you. Very colorful! It would certainly give other patrons at the restaurant something to talk about.
PattyP - Good to see you posting again.
JazzyGirl - Cool room. Glad you enjoyed yourself. You work very hard and deserve it.
So hard to believe it is already almost Fall and the holidays will be here before we can blink.
Well I'm going to say goodnight and I hope everyone is able to rest peacefully. Until next time.
Yikes! I was about to log out and saw that I didn't say Hi to Eeyore, so HELLO to you.
If I missed anyone else so sorry.

I love autumn leaves, especially against a blue sky. We hiked around the pond to Thoreau's house on a beautiful October day. Gorgeous.

Eeyore, Thank you! Yes, my children and I are affectionate. Although in recent years DS has not wanted me to hug him in front of his friends. A totally normal reaction! It's funny..DS got my eye color, but looks just like his dad. DD got dad's eye color but has my features. DD is only about 4' 7" and will not grow anymore. The two have pretty different personalities also
Junie, Yes...the kids are better thank you. I'm so glad you have been staying out of the ER, but I wish you felt better. The fibro pain on top of insomia and treatments has got to be terrible. Hugs!
