    Spot on Mags!

Of course, being me, you all know there’d be a story behind that meme.

Its date in my camera roll is May 6, 2015. I had just found it, probably on Facebook, and texted it to my Missouri friend, and walked out to the hall where DC was standing, and as I was sharing it with her, we heard the crash from the other end of the house and went running, to find DH had fallen, the first of 3 times in a matter of minutes, and of course he wouldn’t let us help him up. Insisted he was fine when he obviously was anything but. He went in the bathroom that was right there, wouldn’t let me in (fortunately didn’t lock the door as he usually did). Moments later, another crash. I opened the door to find him slumped over the side of the tub, still sitting on the stool, covered with feces, and half conscious. DC meanwhile on the phone to the ambulance. I kind of got him cleaned up a bit and DC brought a chair for him to sit in, but he fell in the hallway and that’s when the ambulance arrived.

The beginning of my nightmare. Yet I share the meme with you, and we can all chuckle about our men: can’t live with them, can’t shoot them.

Yup Mags, it must be a male gene thing. I was so not happy with hubby making jokes about his health that when the doc told him if he stayed on the course he is on that he is looking at 2-3 years top but it could be shorter. Doc looked at me and then to himand said it could be justifiable homicide on her part. Stubborn fool is what mine is.

Mommie, the memories of life a loss, so surface with each loss. I haven't read that this happens, it just kind of my own personal thing. But it could be a wider thing. We feel the loss of the person that has just died, then we start thinking about other losses, and ourselves. Like our dying. It all gets in a kettle of soup thoughts. Then we stir the soup. Instead of blending, we get these flashes appearing like alphabets in soup. Each letter is a memory. Then it fades back into the soup. But we don't want it to fade back into the soup. We want it to keep the letter right where it is.

These days will be hard. But if you have Faith, you know you will see her again. Faith in life after death, in the soul, in the spirit, in the essence of what we are, is the whole reason to believe in God. IF that thought does not exist, then why anything in life. They're can't be a nothingness after life, b/c we wouldn't strive so hard to complete life or value life as we so strongly do.

Her last words to you were to fight hard so she could see you at the next re-unioun. She believed in you, she believed in Hope. Now the tables have turned. The fact of life is, we know not the time or place we will  be called.

Love you sweetie, no gentle hugs here, just really squeezing hugs. sassy

Oh Mommy, I am sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. Just as Feline said, I hope she is reunited with her love ones in a better place where there is no pain and suffering. Hugs.

Feline, I agree Elliott is adorable. Hope he will learn some manners from Uncle Arthur soon :)

Kath, it’s not as tough now when DH is away compared to when the kids were little. Thank you for sharing your story regarding DS :) Kids! Hope your eye is better. Do you still have eye dryness? The dryness has to be uncomfortable post surgery. So stressful when our love ones don’t take their health seriously. Mom is one. Sometimes DH is stubborn too. Told him if something happens to him I am spending all of his hard working $$$ ( he is quite frugal) Hah!

Mags, I am curious about your 6 am alarm too. Hope you continue to feel better each day and the CHF is just an acute episode.

Ms. Sas, we need to talk. Not tomorrow as it’s my work day . Maybe Tuesday after 3 pm your time. So glad you talked Mags’ team into changing metoprolol to Coreg. Good choice. As far as ARBs, there is no solid evidence that they cause cancer. I was able to pull up several articles on the the different trials on ARBs. There are conflicting findings. I found one interesting writing on the study of the studies that claimed the possible link of different cancers to this class of drug. Possible bias in these trials. Ironically, it’s possible that ARBs are good for people with BC based on their mechanism of actions and the role of over-activation of angiotensin II receptors in the pathogenesis of some cancers. Dang that was a mouthful. Hah. I need to read these articles again before we chat.

GOt to go. Hello to my other sisters.

    Mommy, doing okay?...............

Donnie did a paint job today. First, we didn't talk about the work. I said that we had to add a piece of molding to cover where the hinge groves where for the french doors that were taken down. He was okay with that. He was painting the area. He went to get up and put the end of the brush on the couch, then countered that movement by putting the heel of the palm, it had paint on it. Donnie can do many excellent things, painting he's learning. It worked out with quick response. Only two permanent marks on the couch. which are very much smaller than originals. ............Then he painted an area that for 25 years I didn't want to paint b/c it was wood. I really disliked it b/c it wasn't appealing , but it was wood. Anyone that has refinished wood knows what a PITA to the max it is to take it back to the original wood. SO, for 25 years I put up with something I disliked. Today it got painted. A 25 year mistake. Looks great.

A Mags report, son coming into night for a week, No negative medical stuff. House Blessing tomorrow, Her sisters birthday is tomorrow. Mag's birthday his Wed. She described that she was her sister's birthday gift when her sister was five. House warming next Saturday. She had a friend show up this Saturday with a great desert , great visit. Friend got the date wrong. Great visit. Friend coming next week again. Yes, I'm very involved in Mags life right now, Tooo much, but there has been an intensity.

Update on Phyliis----Aka PDGraham. She is doing excellently on her latest trial. Greatest side effect is sleep attacks. NO OTHER negatives, which is light years away from her other trials.

Beatmom, Phyliss told me about travel plans and I already forget, but I think she will be travelling soon. Apparently you are close in proximity to Mags.too.

Loverly, Oh so thank you on the ARB research, I think I mentioned I was on Micardis when I first heard the connection. I, of course, wasn't happy, as BC was strong in the family and I was on the drug for two or three years before dx. I didn't need to add another risk factor. But it does swing to another question: Is there a genetic question with ARB's ? If there is any thing that floats to the surface in your research.........The conflicting research is always troublesome. Okay from a different angle "Is there an Ace inhibitor or ARB that is best used or lest connected with cancer?". It changed the question a bit, I recognize it changes the search majorly to pin it down.

I love Coreg--Carvidiolol. DH was put on it when he went from a 55% EF (ejection Fraction) down to a 20% EF. That occurred after being increased on his statin drug In one month he dropped on the EF. It caused him to be immediately disabled. 15% EF is transplant criteria. He was put on Coreg. Over time his ejection Fraction came up to the low 50's It was so impressive. But then when he needed a certain chemo his MUGA scan showed he was 46%. That chemo required a 50%.

For anyone reading, a normal EF is (without looking it up) is > 50. AND not to worry if it is 50 or greater. BUT I'm at the age of forgetting.

What is GREAT about Coreg Carvidiolol is DH came up over time to a > 50% EF. At the time he needed the EF to > 50% it happened to not be <50%. BUGGER. I forget why the drop, there was a reason..............I forget.

There was a beta blocker thread I did because beta blockers were connected with reducing recurrence for BC. With that thread I think I listed all new Beta blocker drugs. I was surprised about how many Beta blockers had been introduced from the time I became inactive in that area.

Supposin I should link to that thread BBL

Okay this link goes back to 2016.

    https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/73/topics...

Actually, asked MBC friends to talk to their docs bout adding low dose beta blockers to their regimen. No body to my knowledge did it.

the study identifies propranolol and nd NSAID. . The reason they used propranolol was it was the first drug in the class of drugs.

When a Novel(new) drug class is identified the greatest amount of research is spent on this new drug class. Horrendous of amounts of research and dollars. Propranolol aka as Inderal. Wasn't the greatest drug, but had some interesting collateral affects. It was used for migraines, essential tremors(shaky hands), and social anxiety. I say collateral affects versus off use label.....strange I would use collateral. BUT it is greatly noted for those aaffects. BUT>but it was also known for a blood pressure rebound affect if a a dose was missed... and that rebound effect may get out of control. ERGO, the next generation of beta blockers didn't have that problem. The greatest was metoporol still the #! drug seller in the class. But I believe Coreg is better. DuH, that and 10 cents won't buy a cup of coffee i.e. I could be wrong.

New drugs are in the beta blocker class. Each drug comes to market b/c it has a particular niche in the class. But I learned over the years it can be safer to ask for and older drug that is tried and true----also free or cheaper

Tooo much? Oh Sas, please don’t say that! You’ve been my lifeline and link to sanity and key in my healing process, as well as sister and friend!

Indeed, my son is here, and I am content as the cat who found a bucket of cream. Such peace!

Love to all of you, Owlies. More soon…

Morning Jay, glad you are back. Trips are nice i.e. traveling type versus my trips that are usually falls. I think it's time for phone call. Think about connecting by phone with some members. It is wonderful for many reasons. We are all going through this. We can talk about stuff that others just are clueless about. Cancer can be isolating. Not everyone that you talk with by phone will become a BFF, but it all works itself out. Also, some prefer not to talk on the phone.

Shep is there a way I can darken up the print on the screen?

Junie how's surgery prep working out?

I'm still working on hearing aides. Just found out I have some coverage for the three different types of devices. 1.cochlear,2 bone implant for mixed ear,3 hearing aides. For some reason the gal in Jan told me I didn't have coverage for #1&2. But I will have to travel > an hour in each direction. At least this way I can get the proper device.

Donnie just painted multiple walls . Totally unexpected progress.Rainy day in Florida so his outside work couldn't get done. He was willing, I was able and started shuffling stuff. All rooms now stuffed except for TV space, kitchen , and the bedroom we have been using since bathroom remodel started in .......Feb 2017. It's just been a different shuffle. BUT OH SO HAPPY. I loved the old scheme, but then got tired off it. Then hated it. FOR a very long time. One booboo. My fault. I had those plastic corner protectors on wall edges. I explained the had to be taken off. Well , it took paint off the wall that wasn't to be redone. It becomes a fixable thing, if I had the paint left from 20 years ago.

The guy 20 years ago was an apprenticed painter in Ireland. He explained that with left over paint to water it down by 25%. So, when chips occur you can paint chips & spots, and it will totally blend in. Did that for years as marks occurred. Donnie got a service HVAC call only with about 30sq feet left for a first coat. UGH . I should be thankful for what I have, since I had gotten to hate the color.and had no expectation that we would be this far and needed the lightness.

My fellow classmates have decided that we aren’t going to wait for our 30th class reunion to get together to celebrate the life of our class president who passed suddenly last week. We are planning a get together sometime this summer as an impromptu reunion. Would have bee our 25th class reunion anyway.

M0mmy ~ You graduated high school in '93? My you are a young 'un! Cool that your classmates are still so close. Such a nice way to honor your friend to have everyone get together this summer. She must have been a very special person for so many to mourn her. Happy for you to have had such a wonderful friend ; So sorry your time together was not longer. (((hugs)))

Sassy - I'll check in with you later about changing the color and size of your text on the 'puter. Gotta try for a few hours of sleep.

FFH left a little while ago to bring Ellie Mae in for THE big vet appointment. She is getting spayed, her defective ureters repaired and her stomach stapled (or something) as a preventative for bloat -very common in Bloodhounds. Ellie has been peeing by the barrel full of urine all over the house since we got her. Her plumbing is bypassing the bladder and sending the urine directly out. She has no control and it has been HELL. Fingers crossed she will come home ready, willing and able to pee outside all the time 🙏 Oh, and that she comes back as a German Shepherd.

Feline ~ Elliot has the eyes of an old soul - sooo deep. He looks delightfully fuzzy and just like a baby Arthur. Such a gentleman Sir Arthur is to put up with that little scamp trying to slay his tail. Naughty Elliot 💗

Welcome Egads! I think you will fit in just fine here 😊

    Much love to all 💕

Shep, yes I did. Although it seems like it was longer than that at times. We even though about having a drink dedicated to her memory for the impromptu reunion.
