    Thank you, Feline Hug

Queenie, when is jury duty? I am on standby the second week of May.

Mags, it our turn to visit the ER. It is 2:40 am and I am sitting here in the waiting room to find out what is going on with DD1. She came home from her swim meet, had dinner, and then threw up about 45 minutes later. Had chills/fever and severe stomach pain. Started to panic and hyperventilate and about 15 minutes later complained of severe muscle spasm in her legs. Both hands and feet curled in. Then it was my turn to panic as I haven’t seen her like that before. She is getting IV fluid at the moment and just texted DH2 (who wanted to come along with us to the ER) she is feeling a bit better.

Loverly, I think DD1 needs some curtain time naps. She needs some rest, poor girl. We'll take turns sliding her popsicles and fruit smoothies under the drapes to keep her hydrated 🍹 🍧

Lotsa curtain space for anyone who wants to join us!

Junie and Mags gentle hugs and healing thoughts. And some more hugs.

Sas saves ass! Mmm.... Sas the hero is more politer but it ain't as catchy :)

Feline - Love, love Little Elliot. He likes the cursor on the computer? YouTube has games for cats and videos for cats. Pris loves 'em. She highly enjoys really, really gory and violent stuff on the telly. Sometimes she worries me.....

I injured my already messed up right leg 2 weeks ago when I had to kick 50lb Ellie off of me as she was charging. I KNOW better!!!!! Nothin broken (yet) but X Rays this past Monday show a decent section of "moth eaten" bone in my femur. I go next Thursday to the Ortho Onc too see if it needs to be shored up with steel accessories. So for now I've been trying to stay put and have been sleeping a lot. Miss Pris is overjoyed and is only biting me a little as she snuggies me in bed.

Miss Blue! Where are you? Keeping you close in thought n' prayer Dear Skunkstress 💗

Sensi, Peppy, Eeyore, Patty - sending hugs and happy thoughts to you 😊

Love to All Our Owlie Sisters 🦉💞

Thanks you so much for being the best communicater, and letting us know about Mags. Although I'm still a newbie, I feel included, and part of this family. Hope I'm making sense.

Ditto on all meds having consequences. Gone through much crap with that. By the way, what's the latest update on Mags?

Help!!!!! I mistakenly took my daughter, and her best friend to the humane society. My 15 year old, and only daughter said " Oh, I promise mom, I just want to see the kittens.

Now, we have two adult cats. Mary is obese at 23 pounds, and very sweet. She is very drawn to Reece. Nicole, the crazy cat loves me. Reece has been asking for another cat for awhile. I put my foot down and said NO WAY!!!!!🙄🙄🙄🙄. Now, we live in a two bedroom, two bath apartment. I just feel two cats is enough.

Well, at the humane society, there were several adorable kittens. To my surprise, quite a few were adopted today. Busy weekend. Well, we fell in love with a 12 week old gray male tabby. I told my daughter I have to think about it. Two cats, I feel are enough. We all know introducing a new pet to another in the home can be challenging. I told Reece I would give her an answer tomorrow. The kitty is neutered. Of course, if we get him, kitten food, his own bowl. For awhile, his own litter box. Sighhhhh.

I told daughter she would have to pay for the adoption, supplies, and the first check up. Also, we would need to have him declawed, but not at first. Lord, I just don't know. I had no intention of another cat. Daughter knew what she was doing. So, got to think long, hard, and fast.

Oh, while we were there, the volunteer introduced us to a beautiful 2 year old black cat. This cat was abused, and burned in several places. Who could be sooo evil???? We held, and petted her. She was so receptive. I wanted her. I had to leave quickly, and told daughter, and friend to speed it up. I got in the car, and cried.

I just wonder, how much abuse is there to animals?😥😥😥. Sorry to go on and on, I probably should be on the cat forum. It's just sad we can't save all animals. I can't stop thinking about the burned black cat. I would like to take her. Decisions🤔

    METEOR SHOWERS ALERT!

I just added a cool app to my calendar that lists all the spacey stuff coming up .

Lyrids Sat. and Sun. ... there's a great link below with other events and interesting facts too! Sassy, I even get updates on NASA launches, lol!

Starting in the evening of April 22 through the next day's dawn, you might be able to catch a glimpse of the Lyrids meteor shower. Learn more about the major meteor showers and how to watch them here: http://nyti.ms/2A76t26

Jaymeb, I volunteer at an animal shelter. Animal abuse happens but is not prevalent, thank goodness. I love to see the kitties get adopted and go off for a happy life. Unless the 23lb cat is a Maine Coon, she should lose some of that very slowly. We've had some that big who have successfully lost weight over a year or so. They can't lose quickly because they might develop fatty liver. I have an owned cat (former foster) and a foster at home now. Someone will probably feel the same as you and take the burned kitty home. I don't know the rules where you live, but Seattle has a limit of 3 pets, not counting rodents and caged animals.

LOverly, oh scary. Hope all is well?????

Queenie, is that an old thing or new thing on the ankle? I've got a treatment protocol if it's a new thing. Based on new research published in 2009. It was a game changer for skin. Found it when I had a skin infection that year. Now it's standard treatment.

Oh Jay, so sorry, about the burned kitty. You will make a decision best for you. My only abuse of poor Dini ,is ME falling over him. He understands that it is bad, and comes to see how I am. Other than that he is so happy now. He went through a tough life. I was really afraid of him when he moved in, but it all worked out. He is the typical black lab. He's hard to see in certain rooms even with the light on.

Shep you are so sweet. Thanks. Oh so sorry about the leg. I know you told me, but it sounds so much worse in print. GRHHH towars FFH. You've gone through so much with this gigantor pup.

    Blue WHOOOohoohhhhhhhhhhhhhhoooo

Jaymeb: so stay away from the kitty adoption centers. And keep susceptible tweens away too. Duh. (I've been saved because I've homed kitties who are totally sptah FFFTH HSSSSH sptah FFT about intruders.)

Sas: my ankle blotch is a result of the Fever Of Unknown Origin I had last fall, which resulted in a blister not too much smaller than my [expletive] mouse on my ankle. That combined with being firmly in the melanin-challenged genetic category--any scars and blotches will be clearly visible.

    Queenie -

Wasn't it just last year you got called for jury duty? You must look competent or somethin' for them to call you back so soon? I know there was talk of wild and garishly colored hair that time. Must not have worked. (sigh) Unfortunately now-a-days the older we are, the more adorable folks think we are when we frak up our hair. 'Tis pitiful times to remain a Young Suburban Punk. "I blame society! Society made me what I am!" *** Anyone who gets that reference will instantly become my bestie for life . 😎

If you don't want to get picked to sit on a jury .......

~ Loverly you listen up too!.......

Walk in looking all disheveled and frazzled. Carry a clear wide mouth bottle/jar (no label) partially filled with apple juice. As you approach the sign in area, hold your jar high in the air while sloshing the contents about and very loudly yell "Hey! who do I give this to for the p*ss test?" Tell the people around you in a loud "whisper" you brought it from home 'cuz you want to pass this time.

If that doesn't work and you end having to wait to go into courtroom for the lawyers to decide who they want on the jury try these phrases as you are being seated - loud fake whisper again:

"Hey! I'll be darned if this room doesn't look different from this side!"

"I just KNOW that son-of-a-biscuit is guilty. I'm gonna vote to fry his butt!"

"If you look over there where that table is with the Defendant sign on it you can still see where Daddy carved his initials with the edge of them handcuffs he wore!"

Gesture proudly to one of the officers in the room " That man is nicest cop ever! He ALWAYS lets me sit up front in the cop car when he picks me up!"

I can think up some more lines if ya'll need 'em. Always happy to share my wisdom 📚🧐

Queenie, about the infection/sepsis/cellulitis that is still leaving a mark on your skin.... The Infectious disease doc that took care of mine had me put Neosporin on it until it faded away. My MO had argued the other doc was nuts. Nope - it worked! It took a little over a month but the blotches I had faded away for good. I had those dang things for almost a year, geesh!

Or just say you're a therapist. Neither side trusts a therapist. Prosecutors are worried you'll bring up their terrible childhood and defenders are afraid you'll diagnose and say there's no hope of rehabilitation. Or if it's DUI say you're in recovery. Dismissed every time!

Bring a whoopie cushion. They'll have you dismissed immediately as you'll be about as popular as a shunk at a square dance.

Ooooh Ladies! Such good ideas - we should write a self help book!

Miss Blue, do you think your publisher would be interested or just disturbed?

Feline - I so adored Carrie Fisher. Princess Leia was beautiful, witty and tough! Since Queenie wears her hair short, would it be easier to mush a pair of jelly doughnuts or cinnamon buns over or above her ears? She could share with the other jurors during snack time!

Wren ~ You dear sweet lady. I would never have suspected such naughtiness from from you. I bow to your sly craftiness! 🦊

Egads - Whoopie cushions never loose their charm! You could even eat some melty chocolates on the way there to accessorize your hands and backside! "Popular as a skunk at a square dance" LOL....that's a new one to me. Some of us would be exited to see the skunk 😛

Good advice all, especially Shepkitty's: jelly doughnut earmuffs would go over well at snacktime. (And I'll try the neosporin.)

IIRC, it was two years ago I was last called for jury duty--the spring before I started at [local community college]. Dismissed right off the bat with a preemptory challenge (or whatever the term is); i think because of education level/occupation.

Queenie, My only Jury duty call: we were to raise our hands if we were ever in a violent situation----Detroit riots. Were we ever attacked by someone--mugged in Detroit. Comment from the defense lawyer to the prospective jurors "We hope that you can keep an open mind and use common sense to apply to this case" I raise my hand and said "Common sense is learned behavior that applies to resolution or avoidance of future situations". I was dismissed. What was funny is one juror who didn't say much.as he passed me, he gave me a touch that was ---like "you're okay kid". He looked like Sam Waters---the guy that is such a hunk. I think that's his name. He was in Tombstone.

OMD you are all too funny

Found this tonight it's about Proton Pump Inhibitors. Most common is Omperazole--Prilosec. Some info I knew so I was solid she was imparting good info. Other info I didn't. Each section references a source. I didn't know at all that proton pumps existed within cells and the brain. Worth a read.

I didn't have time to look at other post of her blog, but I want too. I like how she keeps it simple and has the reference for what she states

Sas: I just bet you were dismissed! (I wouldn't be surprised if I were dismissed this time as well, should I be called to the jury pool and for much the same reason.) My father regaled me with stories about the times he was called for jury duty; he was a lawyer and a law professor, so pretty much an automatic dismissal, sometimes even before he made it to the box. Only time he did serve was after he retired: he got elected jury foreman, and talked circles around everyone until the other eleven jury members came around to his point of view.

I'd probably be dismissed quickly on the grounds of insanity. I could just see myself getting over excited and start shouting things we've all seen on courtroom tv.....like "objection!!" , "He's leading the witness!" "you're out of order!" and "your honor, may I approach the bench?!?!" Or better yet, Al Pacino's famous line from the movie And Justice for All..."the SOB is guilty!!!" I might even get a contempt of court charge for being unable to stop myself from grabbing the judge's gavel, slamming it down and yelling "dismissed!!"

    oooook, I need a life.

Sas, was it Angie Harmon? Thought I had sent this earlier. Guess it didn't go through.

Lover, how is DD doing. Her symptoms sounded scary.

Mags, hope you had a wonderful time with your son and your house warming party was enjoyable.

Junie, any word on when your surgery will be? Saying prayers for you.

    Shep, you're on a roll

DS and family are here. Didn't get to the airport due to hubby falling, yet again. Something is going on but so far they haven't found it. We were in the grocery store with two items left to get when he had to stop. By the time we were heading to the car he could barely pick his feet up, more of a shuffle, and his knees were giving out under him. He eventually fell. Thank goodness a cart was behind him because it saved him from hitting his head on the floor. Head did hit the cart though. Finally convinced him due to a gentleman explaining how important it was to be checked out. Fire truck crew were the first to come as they were the closest and they have EMTs. One of the older ones hearing his symptoms and history told me the same thing happened to his father-in-law and it turned out to be mini strokes. Luckily, DD1 and SIL work over near the airport and were on slightly different schedules so had both cars and were able to get the weary travelers.

    Edited to correct spelling errors.
