    Hi,

Jay meb. Mags is good. We talk most days. She had a very good visit with her Rhummy today . Dose on prednisone reduced to 30 mg.(from 40 mg). 3 weeks till next decision on reduction. She's been back on Abraxane. She , also, had a visit today with cardiologists PA. She was so happy with her. She listened and taught, tweaked her plan. Overall, Mags new team members are a dream.

Mommy, Happy that friends are okay. Saw some flooding pictures yesterday , but it wasn't defined where they were from. the flood behaved like pictures I've seen in the past of tsunami's. The fella that posted it is in the East. his last flood pictures were from Maryland where he had family.

IF anyone's thinking of getting flood insurance from FEMA. Now is the time. It doesn't go into effect for 30 days. Mine costs me $450 per year. It's the best peace of mind payment.

Queenie, I will look into Verizon. Any opinion on buying a computer off Ebay. I looked yesterday and there was a loveno____ Looked like great prices. I was on Ebay, at the recommendation of my pool guy, trying to find a pool suction type vacuum. The one type new was average around $450.. The second was average $275. Lo and behold, there was a price of $52. New. Square Deals. Bought it. Total shock. If it's not a scam I saved 200$'s. or 400$'s. Always the cheapskate. I truly spent 52$'s. But I like the idea that I got it CHEAP. and it makes me think I saved money.

70, you said reading here is like a box of chocolates. Donnie and I just unintentionally completed several weeks of toilet paper comparison testing. Previously was a Cottonelle user. Switched to Aldi's brand b/c of significant price difference. Used it for 1-2 years. They changed there product. Donnie got up one morning and took the open and unopened package back to Aldi and got his money back. Said it doesn't work. We went back to Cottonelle. "New and improved" So improved,it no longer works well. We then tried Norhtern. Not happy. Now using Charmin. TaDA........We are happy. Nothing better than a happy bottom.

My guess is that thos photoshad to have been taken in either in one of the 5 counties in Northwestern Wisconsin that got hit hard or the U.P. of Michigan.

    sas-schatzi Member Posts: 15,894

Queenie, the unit's I'm looking at are new with warranty's Crazy isn't it.

To all, not sure if I mentioned this. A thought from Shep. Some/many of her pictures and some documents were save from the fire b/c the were in the "cloud". Just an FYI

    Have a great weekend

Sas: who services the warranty? (but otherwise, warranty=good. means they're confident the unit's going to work.)

Queenie, haven't gone that far.. I was just intrigued that my pool guy said I might to be able to find better prices on Ebay for pool things. Then I looked for computers. Really close to buying a new computer. I would like to stay away fro amazon b/c Bezo's is a horrible human being. He's like a Black Hole sucking in the universe.

Dear son and DDIL are on the "Show the new wife the family roots trip" It's going well. Visit with the twin was good. DS listened and had a Shutterfly book madeof the wedding. Very good move. Very good move.

Shutterfly can take pictures, and you create a book. It's all very glossy. Paper weight is very thick(lasting). Not sure what the words are, but it's great. The kids gave me one for Christmas.Size of a children's book, with oodles of pics.

The way my DIL described it is all the pics are downloaded to Shutterfly's site. Then she creates books by clicking on pics.

What's great is you create the book for the person. Plus they can be accessed anytime to create another book which can be changed by clicking. Next step up from scrap books

The added thing is a lesson learned from Shep's fire. She had pics and documents in the cloud. They are her only things left. I'm no cloud undererstander quite yet. But I do understand loss of everything.

    Consider the cloud

Sas we have a service called Carbonite. I believe the firm is US based and it started aimed at the home and small business market. Once you subscribe it runs on your PC or laptop and automatically backs everything up to the Cloud, you don't have to remember to back up manually. Every time you save something it backs it up. Came in handy when we had a hard drive failure. Took 2 weeks to download all my files back down as I have thousands of pictures. It is pretty low cost insurance, approx $6 per month.

Sitting with a heating pad on my back. Just finished prepping two big flats of strawberries that we picked yesterday for freezing. It took four hours for me from start to finish!

M0mmy - Yikes, you deserve a good rest. That was a lot of work. But when you need some strawberries, they'll be ready and waiting. Good for you. I hope your back feels better soon.

Back was better until hubby brought me home a new plant pot for my Pothos a.k.a. “The Maneater” which was looking a bit worse for wear. So I dragged it down and added the new piece that my MIL gave me yesterday from one of hers that she had been growing for me.So now they are hanging up in the new planter with new soil and looking very nice. Twined the multiple long shoots up the plant hanger.

Out for the summer and took my first week off to go to the beach. It. Was. Wonderful.

    Yay another week.

Mommy such energy, I'm envious. Tank goodness for our heating pads and vibrators.

I stopped Schatzi's prozac. The chattering went awaay. It was worth a shot. The fireworks have already started. PLus, storms most evenings.

TaRa, nice picture. The blue is nice. Just a hint. FUN. I have a bunch of different chalk colors, but I forget to use then. Is yours permanent?

    Anyone doing Paleo?

So...I have just received a message from Bluebird's (Diane) niece Shannonand maybe others here have too. She has given me her email and also Diane's DH contact info. Please PM me and I will forward to you. She said Diane passed away peacefully on May 22nd surrounded by family and friends just as she wanted. So sad for my friend Diane. I did receive the news at the time while on a trip. I think her niece would really appreciate all of our responses. Thanks.

Diane loved this flower, I don't know where I found it.

Thrifted today without EVEN doing a doc visit. Got a pic that is very ornate. Sounds strange but the frame was plastic. Made to look as the ornate frames of 1900. Odd, very odd. The whole framing was done extremely well. Backing done with a heavy back board, screws(highly unusual,) very solid heavy duty wire holders and connectors(very unusual). The picture in the thrift looked like it would do well in a bordello. But put in my Victorian living room, I think it's found a home.

Second item, a sweet little pewter candlestick. It's a puzzle for sure. Has 3 stamped Makers Marks. It has all the signs of being sand cast. It's weight in such a fashion that it wouldn't be bumped over easily. Avery good characteristic for a candle holder. Drip bowl not big enough for a glass hurricane unless it were quite small. Makers marks of this type are old, but no clue how old. Pewter Maker Marks didn't require the same type of rigid rules as did silver Hallmarks.

But it's found a home. If I want to make it a working candlestick, I can put it on a glass plate with large hurricane over it. It then becomes a working piece and an artifact. A twofer.

I'd do pictures, but the charger for my kindle seems to be missing from it's place> DONNNNNNIE

Sas, mine is semi-permanent. It washes out after about 8 shampoos. I’m going to try purple next. Then maybe the teal. I used to do the chalks but it got to be so messy when it rained or I got hot. And lately, I get hot a LOT so this is a bit more manageable for me.

TaRa, yes the chalk can get messy. I now have totally ___mostly white hair. The colors can be even MORE fun with white hair because they are so stark.

I once went to my sons law office with a couple of blue streaks that matched my blouse. All the young gals were so excited. Son acted proud.versus embarrassed. It was fun b/c I thought he'd be embarrassed. He was so shocked that the gals liked it. Hahaha, Mom was COOL. Who knew.

Very much want to do something radical. I'm bored with the gray and the length. Never stayed this way ever for this long. Always changed styles and lenght. But But....hair doesn't grow fast at my age. Color can make it look lifeless.

The companies haven't kept up with us Boomers. We are flower children of the 60's. I do Not want , nor will I accept being the blue hair permanent tight curl of my mother's generation. I Waaaant excitement.

Pewter candlestick....Old , no clue how old, very heavy. Bent where you can see it on the candle holder and drip bowl. Sand casted. Handle applied, and done very well. Interesting piece. $2.50

Best shot I could get of the touchmarks. Three of them. Silvers marks are called Hallmarks. Pewter didn't get the same respect as silver. I'll never find these. Perhaps the Antiques Road show hahahaa..

Couldn't get a picture without the reflection. The frame is plastic, but very ornate. Backed with fiberboard. and screws. The wire holders very fancy. Better word , but can't think of it. Great effort put into making it look expensive. Looks great in the living room with the real antiques. $10

A new home already. The picture above was a wedding picture. The dress on the mannequin to the side is my wedding dress. Unbleached muslin. The large candlestick is my first find in 1969.

Just pulling an all nighter. This is the Christmas tree dress. I designed it and a friend sewed it. It takes about ten minutes to take it off. Underneath the tree is fully decorated. The idea came when the fella's started to complain too much about decorating the tree. Being angry wasn't what Christmas was all about.
