  • Ah, ok Chevy. Bring your damn pants. We will bring mops and paper towels to clean you up.

We just didn't want anybody snickering and pointing at you. Ya know like, look AT her! Poor thing. She musta just got off the plane!!! We only had your best interests in our minds.

OH GolfGirl, sounds like everything has settled down on the home front. YAY. It'd be so nice to have some peace for awhile. With Dh  for the forseeable future have Dh elevate the leg at rest i.e sitting in a chair and pump. How much walking is he doing? Walking and elevation are his best friends.......Wish you could come to Celebration :) You sound GOOD, like a weight has been lifted :)

Blondie Love you Babe! Tried calling you the other day and your numbers changed. Just wanted to chat.

Pepper company can be wearing, but I miss not having as much as I used too! Hey, want to come for a visit?  Hint I'm in Florida :)

Paws, this is generally the opposite of what I recommend, but It's like Chevy said unless you need to rock climb, rapelling, trapeze flying, painting(hire someone), window washing(hire someone) think hard about NOT having physical therapy. The key to what you said is you didn't even know that you didn't have full range of motion. Your activities that you do daily, have not been limited. AND I didn't hear that you were having shoulder pain. Therefore, in the absence of limitation of daily life activity and no pain, you could stir up a hornets nest with physical therapy. Once the hornets are aflyin', you may not be able to get them back in the cone. There could be tearing of the scar tissue that is now present. When that tissue is released, it could tear adjacent tissue. If that tissue is adjacent to nerve structures that could set in motion a problem that can't be undone/corrected. Docs and Pt's want everything  to be normal. I usually, as I said, right in the beginning agree, but your situation is unique. I think it falls under the category of "If it ain't broke , don't fix it".

Smarrty, the bra thingy, Anything I did the first three years only worked for a short time. Then I would go to the next plan. In year four, I found Vanity Fair 72297. I can wear them with comfort. I have no clue if they would have helped my situation in the earlier years. I did have a trained person do a fitting after all the surgeries in the first year. Same as you that bra ended up not working. It went in the drawer. Then I bought a few others that were marginally comfortable. The VF ones I can wear all day with comfort :) Every foob is different LOL.

2nd, Sleepless in SoCal-------Hugs, Call me when you wake up and have a pot of coffee ready :) Donnie's working all day and I have research project that I'd like to avoid LOL :)

Spookie, what fun we get to bring our furbabies. Shats is always very good, but you can tell she's anxious b/c her tail isn't curled. But she let's people pet her and she's very well behaved. Now Dini on the other hand, I would NEVER take him in public like we are going to do. Can't wait!

ALYoop, Blueberry JWooohoo, Littlegoats, wren, 3rd, Philly waving \|/^/|\^\|/^\|/^ Sorry, if I forgot someone  HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Chevy and Cami---OMG you two crack me up. A morning without you two is a day without sunshine!

Cami ROTFLOL re: the biker story. Loved it.

Chevy, great music. Young looks really stoned in the Leno clip. The way his body is moving to the music sooooosmooth and relaxing. Felt like I had a massage just watching him. HMMMMmmm

thanks sass, I'll check with whippetmom again. I need to give her new measurements anyway. I finally bought new underwear. I figured out why the ones I had were still working. They're suppose to be hip huggers, but I was pulling them all the way to my waist!  Ha ha.

Morning owls, going shopping in a little bit. Need a new suitcase. Sass, I'll be in Florida on nov 1, our cruise leaves nov 2. Back on 10th. I think you're not close to Miami.

    You guys take care.

  • Thank you SAS and you are right. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The rheumatologist office backs up to a physical therapist office and as I was leaving the office there was a sign about new clinical trail now enrolling people with frozen shoulder. So, no, they won't get me to enroll. Cami I guess we don't have to worry if we can't reach over our heads, we are not a pole dancer like someone we know.

I love the yellow bike Enerva. If you come to California you can ride year round cause we don't worry about old man winter here.

Chevy, I wear pants most of the time. Nicer dress pants for work and jeans most other times. I look forward to seeing pics of you with SAS and Spookiesmom and the fur babies.

2nd, those sheep, so funny. I'll be seeing you soon for our bco get together. Hope you are doing well.

    Hugs to all.......

LittlePaws, yes, don't try and do that anymore....  It's like my leg/hip stuff....  No, I can't do all that I used to do with it.... but as long as I can walk pretty well, and do it without a cane, I don't care.  It doesn't like to hold my weight like my other leg does.... And it's hell, just trying to get up on that pole!  I use a step-stool, if I have the urge.

Sometimes when you exercise things that are not USED to it,. they rebel, and raise all kinds of hell....  THEN you know you should not do that again.   So don't go raising your arms up....  unless the ceiling falls in on you, and you need to hold it up.

So I don't exercise....  just gardening and cleaning, and painting, etc!

Sometimes when my leg hurts, it's because it doesn't LIKE the position it is in, then I have to move around, "ow, ow, oh God, ow" and then sit more properly!  It has NOT gotten used to belonging to the rest of me.... it has issues....  and I'm trying to whip it into shape, and "belong."

Hah Spookie.... See?  LilPaws wears slacks too!  And she lives in Ca!  You guys just think you are teen-agers, and wear shorts and flip-flops and probably smoke and drink too! Your hair is probably dyed purple..... or red even!   And you chew gum and flip everyone off!  You might try and corrupt me..... but I will not succumb.

And Smarty!  WTH?  You can't figure out how underwear works?  Just don't wear em'.

And like Sass says.... Paws..... don't go stirrin' up no hornets nest!  You know what I did one time?  There was this HUGE one, out on my front porch.... It is enclosed, so those wasp/hornet things, just thought they were living in heaven.  And I didn't want to hurt them, much less KILL them.

So I had this all planned out.  I got a big black plastic pot, and a spatula, and a step-stool! And a plate.   I went out one early morning, got up there, bucket in one hand under the paper hive, slipped the spatula on top of the hive, scraped it off the ceiling of the porch, covered it with that plate.....stepped down rather quickly, ran to the ditch next to my house,  and carefully turned the bucket over, and the wasps were all going like...... "What just happened?  Where ARE we!"  and I ran back home.  So they were re-located.

They are probably still shaking their heads, thinking "was I DREAMING?"

Wow==wait---I can't believe I'm going to say this BUT Chevy that was a good idea about the nest.--Even tho u were crazy doing it, it worked-I'm sure u made blueprints for it to make sure u could stand the challenge--And u go ahead and wear u'r pants everyone will already know u'r a visitor cuz u have no color, but because u'r old they just might think u stay in a lot. Either way what do u care, the girls will have paper towels and wipe wets for u. And I love Starbucks, when ever my boss come here he brings me a great big one--coffee that is--- he's been busier --cuz of muah so I don't see him as much--He hands me the coffee first and then I hug and kiss him cuz of the coffee, of course.

Enerva u'r just a little one ad so pretty and now u have a super beautiful full figure back--I'm so happy u'r doing so well.

Sas u'r catching up really well---WHITE, u painted it WHITE that's the last color I would paint anything now a days.

I hope u'r all doing well, or decent anyway. I have to take a nap cuz I'z need one.

Oh BTW Chevy are u really only 4 Feet tall? That would explain so much, why u never made it big time in the poll dancing thing. That's why u have to do it in the back yard.

Cammi, you are such a TRAMP!  A BIG one?  Sure you say a hug....and a kiss and a a BIG one?  And you would KNOW!  Do you have his number?  I mean in case he is free sometime?    No, I am 5 feet, and one inch tall!  Even more so with my Crocs on....    I was just kidding about the 4 feet thing.... just seein' if you were paying attention..... this time.

No, I didn't make no damn blue-prints!  I SHOULD have, it was such an ingenious idea, but you know, bugs also have their place!  If it weren't for them I wouldn't have any tomatoes....!   I used to spray ever thing that moved!  But I have mellowed in my o..... I mean as I have become ol...... I mean since I have become more aware of my surroundings.

I wish I had a boss to bring ME a big one, and also a coffee!

Cami, LOL, the screen enclosures are pre- fab aluminum factory coated white or bronze. Yeah, was dumb to get white. Shudda asked why all the ones I saw were bronze. We went to check out this contractors work and the owner had a white enclosure. WOW went to OH weLL, after we saw the green growing in a few months. For some reason the bronze ones don't have the fungus/mildew growth that the white does. Really, it's not that you can't see it.

BOOHOOO I can't swim, had a mustard bloom overnight in the pool. It'll take several days to fix. It's an algae. Needs to be shocked with chlorine and then Mustard Treat. Then filtered for 24 hours. Then cleaned again. Phooey.

Sas, Do you suppose the bronze one has some copper in it? That's what they use to keep moss off roofs. I don't remember what you're enclosing. Your pool? If it's outside and will get wet, garden stores sell copper tape to fend off slugs and snails. A strip at the top might work.

    sas-schatzi Posts: 15,889

Hi Wren :) just lost my post shucks. I'll ask my pool guy if there's any copper in the bronze colored structures. Highly unlikely though b/c cooper is very very expensive.

My pool is already enclosed. I'm just trying to make it girlie pretty. 99% of enclosure are structure and screens. I was trying to get a pic off Houzz.com and lost my post.

Thought I would have decided by this morning to change to arched trelises, but didn't decide till tonight. Rained here ALL day. That would make the curtains messed up. Kind of good. that it did rain :)

    Hi everyone.

Well Sas if u need copper at one time many years ago pennies were made of copper--so Chevy should have loads of them, u can always melt those down. She'll have more than enough.

Have we been talking about bras? Well I hardly ever wear one, I can not get a comfortable one. Cuz I have big boobs under my arm pits--I think he left them there if I decided to get new foobs, Like this old body it would make a difference--it doesn't bother me at all-well mine had retired happily years ago as a playground and a restaurant so why bother I was a D  cup and holding them up was not fun, except my belly even looks bigger--cuz there's no balance--I've lost all vanity, never had much but I have none now. I just call it my man chest.

I think Susan is taking a break, maybe if I remember right, well someone is I know.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend, the weather today was beautiful, OK I didn't go out but word of mouth travels fast.

Wren u never say to much, but u know so many things about things--u are really sharp.

See Chevy that's the difference--Wren really knows things, u and I just talk a lot and say nothing much except for u insulting me and me insulting u--I guess we know a lot about insulting people, that doesn't bode well actually.  And u did say u were 4 feet tall so remember that. I have lost over 2 inches in a short time and I don't like the aides who measure me cuz I think they are cheating my height. I try to stand as straight as I can I don't care how much it hurts but I still can't make another inch--OK I guess men have that feeling sometimes, maybe that's why they get so crabby. I'm just saying... I understand more now. I see the world at a different view point now and I liked it better before. BTW u haven't mentioned the critters next door lately, did u finally eat them? Since they probably stopped giving u eggs. I guess they were to  chicken to fight back.

OK I've bored the hell out of everyone, as u can see I took my pain meds--they don't real wire me but just for a while I feel actual energy, then I collapse, but the pain lessons so I'm not complaining.

Tomorrow is shower day, didn't feel like it today so I'll tell u what my fragrance will be I'm already leaning toward forever blossom---but I might go with Tova's signature. We'll see.

Cami, I'm shrinking too. I've lost 2" and so has DH. So we still have the same difference only both shorter. What bugs me is they want to calculate my BMI from my new shrunken height, not the old one. It's the difference between being overweight and not. Brats.

Sassie didn't change my phone number, my grandson's father has been paying my cell phone for 3 years and stopped, it is ok, NOPE not my kids why would they do that, add me to their plan or between the 3 of them (the older ones) chip in 20 and then I would have one.  I like having one, that is how i communicate with the kids cause they don't call me, so we text cept for jamie my youngest daughter, she comes over, we do watch her kids on tuesday so she has too, but whatevcer not the other ones...i would rather text them speak to them, lol. I do have a land line so that is what I speak to my friends on, and not really them...don't have much to say these days, same old thing, I am fine, yes in pain, am sick of being sick and tired of the cancer things, blah blah blah......anyway, i get off on a tangent...

I am out of town, for 1 night.

Susan said she needed to step away from BCO.,  I sent her a card, via snail mail, I think we all  understand how this form of communication can be the best, or difficult, depending  on where you are at, emotionally. I hope she comes back, she has so much creative energy.

Catch up with everyone on Wed....

oh, Sas, I am trying to get the pool enclosure, is it a privacy issue ? Or a fashion, decorating component ?

  • Owlettes!!!

I am here lurking, not enough brains to post.

Almost to my 3 month anniversary of the big smack.

Not recovering as quickly as my PCP would like, will see the Neurologist on Wednesday. Still struggling with memory and balance.

At least the MRI did confirm the PRESENCE of a brain.....Loopy

Thank y'all for thinking of me!!!!

HI1  the pool thing is a decorating issue for the majority and a privacy issue for one section. ......:)

    Chevyboy Posts: 10,258

Sassy, yes, that is the kind DD has in
    Orlando!
It is a beautiful pool that hardly anyone, ever uses! The
screens are a pain, because the long pine needles keep collecting up there....
they live on a golf course.... Well not ON it, but beside it.

Cammi .... what is this "bode well?" What does that even
MEAN? Besides we don't insult each other.... You can't do that when you love
    someone.... so THERE...Ha!

The Chickens are still alright! Those dinks must have
gone away for the weekend, but left them enough feed, and their cat was in the
garage, in one of their strollers sleeping...Ha! They leave on Friday, and come
back on Sunday.... but they didn't say anything, and we went over yesterday to
take the chickens some corn and salad stuff.... I gave their cat a little can
of cat-food.... Actually I didn't just HAND it to her, I opened it, and put it
in her dish, and she was most happy! She clapped her paws. And the Chickens
gave me 5 eggs! I TOOK them also! Those people don't deserve any more
    eggs.

I sent them an email, but I guess they just expect me to
    take care of things?

Oh? I'm taking a shower this morning also! We must have
read each others minds...... I mean they CALL it minds.... don't they? I will
use SOMEthing to smell good.... It's very expensive.... I just know it is...
It says DAWN on the bottle.

Yes.... Hiho! Now I gotta FIND them! THAT means I can't
wear the compression stockings WITH them! Damn, you guys are TOUGH!

    Ha, ha!   "is
it a privacy issue ? Or a fashion, decorating component ?" OKay, I can
answer that one.... It is a decorating component, trying to make it more
girlie like.... With lace, and billows of netting.... I KNOW what she wants,
and I would do it too.... Ha! That's the funny
    part!

Sass!  Plant trees!  That takes care of the privacy issue....  WHAT in GOD'S name are you doing out there where you need "privacy"????  You're NOT doing THAT are you!   Plant hedges.... park old cars around your enclosure....  people can't look in that way...

  • sas-schatzi
    sas-schatzi Posts: 15,889

Chevy, some of the times, difficult though b/c neighbor on the non-privacy side has a kids fort in the back yard. He has a birdhouse that's in direct line with my  pool. He has a bird watching camera pointed on the bird house. The camera is motion activated.

Those chickens are very good to you. Couldn't find it. There was an old song about "We had some chikens, no eggs would they lay" , but I couldn't find it

Who's going out of Miami in Nov for a cruise? :)

  • Smaarty
    Smaarty Posts: 2,615

I'm the one on the cruise. I'm waiting for the carpet inspector to check on our 2 yr old carpet. Decided I want it out and redone in wood floors. Never thought I would say that. Since I can't go barefoot anymore, might as well put in wood. Then I don't have to worry about the cats.

    Happy Monday!  ;)
