I got mine from a local place. The gals there are super great and know me by name when I go there!

Sassy - I bet the $100 part is a thermostat. Bucky is being well bucky. Most of the ladies are in raging heat. The 2 littlest ones have annoying voices that sound like a baby screaming. Hilarious. Glad my neighbor doesn't care. Mr. Bucky looks like he's a lifer here. Unless something happens to either me or DH they will all live out their lives here. The 2 youngest does are runts and not breedable. Not sure we'll make 10 or 11 more years out here in the sticks. Most all would be long gone though.

2TA - yes on the rain. Supposedly our chances go way, way up next week. So at least now the skilled nursing site is where your dad is. Yes UTI's are notorious for causing change in mental status. So you hold her POA? And Rosie's right - does she had an advanced directive? Yes, you're still where you need to be. No harm in sending out feelers for a job but I would just hate it for you if the perfect one came along and you could not take it. Better IMO for what it's worth (2 cents maybe) to not know about that job until the time is right.

Chevy - I thought something was cray cray with my monitor. Teka's right - too much free time. Now go stand in the corner. Was that a Picassa project too?

Tang - was there a breast navigator at your hospital? Baylor All Saints and THR Harris Methodist both have mastectomy boutiques. Bet surely Medical City does and anything else big out there. I can't remember where you went. Maybe be proactive and look around on the net. Couldn't hurt if you knew what places are out there. But surely the 1st step is with your insurance co.

We are quiet tonight. Dinner time for everyone? World Series back on tonight plus local hockey Dallas Stars.

Mema! That makes me so happy! Im just glad to be here, and able to post, and
just THINK of how it would be if these gals weren't HERE! I'd be outdoors,
walking around somewhere, probably in the alley, talking to myself...

You ARE my friend... REALLY, kiddo! So good to see you here!

Tang, I just thought that picture was so funny! Those poor dogs were like
"OMD, she's going to do it again!"

What's so FUNNY is, I used to have those panty-hose! Only mine had seams
in the back.. I was such a tramp!

Yes Littlegoats, that was a Picassa project... Ha! I just HAD to do it...
You should see what I sent my Grandsons, both Daughter's and my SIL! It's just
so hard trying to stay normal.... and mundane.

Teka.... beautiful picture! So that means I'll probably be going to bed
around 7? And up by 3? I blame my whole family for this.... Even my
Grand-parents, and my folks had this habit, of "Up with the Chickens." We had
no chickens... oh wait, yes they DID! It all started with the damn
    Chickens!

Mema, I see you had you had an Oncotype "6"! Mine was 19, but I read where
that was a "low intermediate" and I didn't do chemo... It was my choice... BUT
you had a mastectomy, so that made sure you had no more problems, right? And
you've been on Arimidex awhile? A LOT of women can TAKE it.... and do just
fine, other than their bones feeling like they can't move.... I couldn't take
    Tamoxifen..

Some people can, and some can't..... but I have put all that behind me,
and am now in my second half, and doing great.

Mommy2! Did you hear about that new "thing" where you can get the same
results of a colonoscopy, by doing it yourself?

It will probably take awhile, (like 15 years) but it would be so much
easier than drinking that OMGWHATTHEHELLISTHISSTUFF..... stuff!

I never saw many men IN that place... Men just don't do certain things...
    and that's ONE of them.

They don't/won't wear hearing aids, go get a physical, do colonoscopies, or
take their meds. I think some are lacking a gene, that makes them want to be
    pro-active in their health!

And it's a darned good thing DH's pace-maker is on the INSIDE, and not on
the outside, or he would have that thing tuned up to where he would be running
circles around the neighborhood! He'd probably try and put a new engine in
it... and rev it up every morning to drive the neighbors crazy!

They put one IN him, so he can't touch it... AND, he would give it a new
paint job every month! One time he painted our little Daughter's bike purple!
Just because he had this can of purple paint! She came in the house crying...
And I was ready to ... well.... you know!

He has this paint obsession. No matter where it is, or what-color it was
before, he will paint it randomly with whatever color he has. He keeps his
garage stocked. He don't paint with a brush... not even in the house.... He
    paints with cans!

I have taken away his paint privileges... He can't come IN the house with
a can of paint.... But he has taken up using black magic markers on everything
    he can.

I just wish I could get DH to get a physical.....!  Like every 20 years or so!   He won't ever go, unless he thinks he is REALLY sick, or can't fix something, or like can't walk!

Chevy, at least give DH color magic markers if he's going to paint. You might get a nice piece of artwork, or something!

Mags great photos, how are you feeling? I was so wiped out after the last blast of chemo. Also you got the Costco rib thing. I cracked some ribs, many years ago, skiing. Ouch, they take forever to heal.

Chevy, as always you crack me up, ol' funny one.

Rose, I enjoyed your posts & honesty. I have a younger DB who was brain damaged right after birth. Happiest person I know.

I am way behind here, we decided to sell the home we raised our kids in. We have been here for 25 years. We still love the house but it is really big, needs a kitchen remodel, yard is huge. We live down the street from a Temple. Most of our neighbors have 5-7 kids. Time to downsize, one level.

I have spent the last 2 weeks painting, cleaning, trashing, recycling. My fingers are raw.

Thanks to all of you  for the posts, I come here & read, try to keep up with all you fabulous ladies. Think about everyone as I am working, how you are all feeling.

Patty Pepper & Tang, Fantastic family photos.....keep them coming.....

    BB soon.....

Yes you are all right to be I go. Been on the phone and just made a sears repair apt for tomorrow. DBF doesn't know much about DW. I have the frig scheduled for maintenance check. The DW was the first sears product that I didn't get a service agreement. Could have gotten it when they were doing a frig check for and add on for 39 00 OH well.

DBF will change out valve  tonite, if it works, the I can cancel DW look see mechanic.

    Ativan YAY.

     Called the flea guys too.

  • wow. No note taking today so I can only remember a little if what all I just read.  Hmm

Chevy - funny pics. You are so crazy. Love it.

SAS.  I agree back to bed and cover your head. Start your day again later.

Dutch - great to see you.

Mags / funny disheasher pic.  Love puppies.

    Holeinone - great new avitar.

    2nd. Hang in there.

    Hugs to all.

Dh and u took our two dogs to the vet for shots , then he treated me to breakfast and he was off to work. I went to the public library (I love the library ) then ran all kinds of errands all over town. Home and exhausted now.  Well at least I feel like I accomplished many things from my list today. Now nap time.

    Hootie hoo

  • I ordered a pair of knitted knockers...they said they'd be here 7-14 days. I'll let ya'll know what I think.

MO told me to stop Tamoxifin for a week because of dizzy/headache/ear ringing. We'll see.

Holeinone- I hear ya! I remember when my parents ditched their 4 bedroom colonial, huge bedrooms, 3 baths, family room, living room, dining, eat in kitchen on 1/3 acre..full of trees, leaves, bushes and a very steep driveway.  By the time they did the inside cleaning it was time to do the outside... and on and on... I mentioned to my Mom one day, " I think the house owns you two and not the other way around!" Plus in Pennsylvania the heating costs and AC costs were considerable and the taxes very high. They left for a townhouse and no yard work. Better fit. Just go walk the dog. Don't get too nostalgic and just move forward. It's hard with 25 years of memories! If you are up from a LDS Temple (I assume) the house will sell in 2 seconds. Good luck.

Sassy- you need to stay in bed and peek out only for potty runs... until you ditch this black cloud that is following you or the part comes for the water heater! Find the voodoo doll and pull out the needles!

Mommy- men are such sissies about anything medical. You would think they are dying taking a prep! (of course it is rather nasty..)

Chevy- Your observations on med and healthcare made me laugh. I told my husband when he got an  ear infection one time, "you better get that looked at before it gets worse. You'll be sorry!" Sure enough he waited until it hit his inner ear - vertigo, barfing his guts up, fever - the works. Puked in the car on the way to the doctors office and ate popsicles with his eyes closed (everything made him dizzy) until the antibiotics kicked in. It was hard having too much sympathy. Of course I am no poster child for following medical advice - but to defend myself - I learned to avoid the office after many years of "compassionate care." I didn't start out feeling this way. ;-)

Off to the forest since it stopped raining. Forest therapy works for me - of course I would like it to be SUN therapy but the universe is not cooperating! (At least in the 14 day weather report there is nothing but rain.Prediction is that come June there might be sun.) Have a great afternoon owlettes.
