Jwoooooooitiehootie, You probably won't see this, I once called my son and said I got some unexpected money did he want to go to Paris. His response was "I hated Paris, but I loved London" It had to do with the people. Parisians didn't treat them well, but everyone they had contact with in London did :)........ He had taken the typical post high school trip to Europe.

Tang How you doing? I was on kindle last night difficult to type. It does however keep the responses short and to the point. Our lives change from the first BC problem phone call. It will never change. How we manage it is the difference. When something new happens, work out an attack plan. The worry of the unknown just drains us too much. Truly, worry stress, sets us up for all sorts of other problems. It's very hard work pushing the worry aside. You are doing something to find out the cause----that's your attack plan. Go, girl :) Tang all your symptoms may simply be an inner ear infection. I know it's hard not to think the worst. ATIVAN :)

Nettie, not sure if tinnitus is inheritable. But IT is common. Very common. The causes can be different. You have got the important things to diagnose the problem set up MO & ENT.

Tang and Nettie, one important description that may not necessarily be asked about tinnitus. Do you sense it as being on one side versus both sides. In the initial phase of evaluating tinnitus this is VERY important. If the tinnitus becomes a permanent thingy--the quality I,e crickets, buzzing, white noise, roaring.--The intensity i.e soft to loud, will change often.

If the tinnitus is sensed as being one sided at the onset, that will win you an MRI. It's a ruleout for a special problem----don't assume anything.

Thyroid issue>>>>>>went from severely hypothyroid caused by the steroids for the bottom issue>>>to severely hyperthyroid. Positive I lost 6 lbs and I'm warm :) Don't think I've ever been warm based on how toasty I feel. Trying to stabilize anything with the steroids is a serious cluster snafu. On the list of suggestions for anyone hypo or hyper------avoid coffee. It makes all the s.e's much worse. I hate learning this stuff the hard way.

Rose, Kaci Hickox is the nurse that had a temp identified when she was disembarking a plane in Newark New Jersey. Within a short time her temp was normal. She's a redhead. Redheads bodies do strange things. I said adrenaline in my previous post , but it's way more complicated than that, it's genetics. The officials in NJ didn't get that she wasn't ill and her virus screen was negative. She was quarantined. She had to fight for her freedom. Govenor Christi was a total ass. Then the governor of Maine didn't manage it well either. In the long run there was a court battle.

The court battle was positive in the sense that the judge did an excellent job in defining constitutional right's and the governments right to protect the population. It wasn't perfect. But it was better than what previously existed.

Govenor Christi's legacy in this is, he as head of the state government of New Jersey showed the world how prepared NJ was too manage Ebola patients. They put her in a tent in a parking lot, in October, in New Jersey.  She had a Port-a-Potty, no shower, no running water----looked third world too me! This guy has been vetted as a presidential prospect for 2016. Right----a tent in a parking lot.

The media didn't castigate him for this. It was talked about, but should have been given more press. Not presidential material from my viewpoint. Showed major lack of leadership. He didn't prepare his state, he didn't define management of cases, then breached the Constitution. He was very knee-jerk about the whole thing. Very confrontational.

    Good Morning Owlettes.

Chevy, Ah-hah that pie chart explains allot. Especially, why my head hurts when I take Melatonin really late. .........Did you see the florida Marijauana vote. Needed 60% to pass. The tally was 58% yes, 42% no. No other state has required a 60% pass rate. This was for medical marijuana.

A police chief was interviewed. His comment was that Floridians soundly defeated the use of a dangerous drug. I don't think he did very well in math class.............. I'm going to find a NORML group to join.

Chevy that cartoon is soooooomuch fun LOL.

    Tang How are you doing?

Foots, Blondie and Teka, sorry you are having such trouble sleeping. But glad you have each other in the middle of the night.

    Spookie how's the arm?

And when I took Melatonin to help me sleep, when I was on Tamoxifen, all hell broke loose.... Literally!  It didn't happen at first, but after about a week, with just one Melatonin at night, I got the big D....!  For 2 a months!  I even had to take 4 Immodium a day, to help STOP it...

Finally, I thought WTH?  And I quit taking the Melatonin..... It all stopped!

But then I lost my hearing, and quit the Tamoxifen also!  But at least I could sleep, and  didn't have the big D from taking Melatonin!   Maybe I can sleep because I can't hear anything?  Loopy

It's amazing that whatever we take has a BIG effect on our bodies!

Hey Nettie I'm in your pocket too.

Lovely rainy Sunday. Continues just a bit today. We've had 2" of rain. DH bought me a rain gauge couple of weeks ago just in time. Months since we've had that much. Slow steady but not much runoff for lake filling.

Sassy - I doubt medical MJ will ever even get on the ballot in Texas. Yes, think the police chief you quoted needs a bit of math lesson.

Quite time around here. DD is finally coming out this weekend so I'm cleaning out piles of stuff. I need to get into her room soon. Where anything that doesn't have a home goes.

Hugs for 2TA. Did the job interview go anywhere? Thinking of you always and keeping you in my prayers.

Blondie and Foots - same with you.

We're just hanging on the branch.

Yes Chevy so true. We take drugs for the drugs we take. Love the pole dancing note.

The cast is a PITA. So much fun trying to pull pants up after potty. And changing insulin pump!

I do have a new pcp, I really like him a lot he's not going to make me change MO!!!!! 4 more years of King Ricky. OMD This state will never recover!!!!!

Morgan won't let MJ drop, he has $ and influence

Spookie - A rehab equipment company or even a reasonably sized medical equipment co should have something to assist in pulling up pants. I looked online at a couple and there are things available. Some quick phone calls should find something.

    http://www.rehabmart.com/product/dressez-shoehorn-...

Ignore it starts with shoehorn. Multiple use product. I know nothing about this co so this is not an endorsement but they do have pics, descriptions and prices to give you an idea. I would sure try local. From the descriptions make sure you tell them you can't use one hand. Seems some are designed for patients who cannot bend over at all.

Gosh they even have something to help put bras on. My shoulders hurt so bad I can no longer fasten them in the back. Having to do the fasten in front, scoot around to back. Very interesting.

Congrats on the new PCP. Why was the old one going to make you trade your MO?

I think ALL of them that won have more money than the losers!  did you see where Alaska, Washington DC and Oregon have now legalized recreational MJ?

I think it my AGE that is so afraid of where all this is going....  I was too afraid to try anything.... Maybe it's good for medical use, and I know it helps a lot of little kids with their seizures, etc, but can't people just feel mellow with life?  With being happy?

I just don't see the thinking in zoning out.....

Chevy some people do overdue MJ recreationally. But similar to alcohol, it can be used minimally to moderately. No zoning out. For me I'm much better at MJ use, than I'm am with alcholol. It's very nice for pain and nausea. Which is well known, but I'm saying it from the use side versus text book side. Much more calming and relaxing than Ativan. When someone describes as mellowing out. You really do. Perhaps, it's so good for me in that direction b/c I'm so TypeA.

Overall, I wonder about the long term consequences. If I get motivated, I'll look and see what the long term studies in  Northern Europe have identified.

Oh, the thyroid med is wearing off, the toasty feeling is beginning to lessen. It was soooooooooo nice being warm. Oh well.........I guess the toasty feeling becomes my symptom to suspect too much med. Whereas, the feeling of a BP cuff strangling me around the neck becomes my symptom to know the T level has gone down. Pains coming back too. I have concluded that much of my pain has been related to thyroid. Oh, with the sense of smell and taste,  the higher I got, the better the sense of each. Other stuff too. Kind of amazing.

Spookie, Sorry about the difficulty. Glad LMG's found some stuff to help. Does your insurance cover Occupational Therapist? Their gig is to teach strategies(ways) to care for yourself. Your PCP doc can make the referral. If it's covered there's likely no charge. Sorry, should have thought of an OT referral right away. Out of practice erghhhhhhh.......... 1% between them--1%. Bummer

LMG, Yay rain. Record rain in Sept here. Basically, dry since. But we are still green. Very unusual. Usually brown. BTW thanks for the update on Bucky and his Girls :) How old is your DD. My DS's room still isn't cleared out of his stuff and he's 30. Maybe soon, he has a house now. I'll clutter him up.

Sassy - DD is 27. She has a teeny tiny apt. There is some of her stuff still in her room but mostly stuff I can't get rid of. Need her here for a period of a day or two to finish. But I think mostly it's just me. Her bedroom here is teeny as well. Her dorm room was about the same size so she felt right at home. I'm personally not a bedroom liver. Just a place to sleep, change clothes. Do wish I had a bigger bath but that's not going to happen. Only way would be to combine both baths into one. Hall bath and master bath share plumbing along with kitchen. No way would this house support just one bath. And not going for major reno anyway. We did the kitchen 10 years ago. Was a darned miracle DH and I survived. And it's in the same arrangement as b4 just updated down to the studs. I think about putting in one of those fiberglass one piece tub/showers, no not the sit down bath thing. That might be the best it will be. If either of us becomes disabled have will be no way to get into master bath. I laugh at those "redo your small BR" pictures. I've never seen any as small as master bath. It might make a smallish closet.

Sassy, are you familiar with FLCAN? Florida Cannabis Action Network. My son and daughter-in-law are very active in that, and very upset this morning. They are in Melbourne.

Mags, thanks, I checked out the web site. Ask them if they will call me. I checked out NORML this morning and it's at University of Central Florida. FLCAN sounds more like an adult group. Regret now I didn't get active before. I would like to see it completely decriminalized. It's ridiculous the amount of people in jail for a joint. Plus, the hemp industry would be really valuable to the state as well as MJ as a crop. Perfect environment.

LMG my last house was huge, but had a very small master bath. This house is smaller by a thousand square feet. The MBB is ridiculously large. The original builders---the wife was from Japan. So, it's charateristically large. You could fit 3 wheelchairs in end to end and still have room on one side for someone to get by. LOL strange way to describe dimension. I re- did the other bath last year after the tub flooded. It's beautiful, but the shower is rarely used. I changed the tub to a shower(no bench). Not excited about the shower floor. In a do over I would suggest something different.  It has a bank/angle in the design, that makes me just a bit worried about balance. Wasn't aware of it when I chose the product. I totally love the marble tile. It'll never get dated. Looks so fresh and bright.

Blondie are you running on steam? Do you get any sleep sweetie?

BTW I have a dishwasher again. Have done two loads this am. Back to normal. YAY.

Goats thanks! I'll make some calls.

spookie, odd thing for a doc to say. Basically you have an established relationship with your MO. Clue me in why would your doc even hint something like that........not kosher.

    Hello to all.....

Badger, safe travels & check in when convenient.

Blondie, sorry you missed your trip to the shore. I hope you get to go again.

Nettie, anything from the MO. Mine says very little. ,

Spookie, I bet that cast is a PITA....sorry.....

Good weather here today. Calm & sunny. I got some yard clean-up done.

  • Oh man Spookie, so sorry about the arm and I can't even imagine having a cast!!  Believe it or not, I'm 50 and knock on wood, I've never broken anything and thank goodness because I'm so claustrophobic I think the cast would drive me over the edge!!

Not so sure why states are objecting to the medical Marijuana, don't even think the idea has been entertained here, not so sure!

Ok, MO appt was OK!  Just OK, it's never exactly how I would like it, but all in all, he thinks and the key word is "thinks" that all is OK!  I say it like this because once again, no scans to prove it to me!!  Blood work is good, physical exam was good, he looked at report from last mammo and said it was good!  Will order another in six months due to dense tissue, but that has been noted on all past mammos!  So he's not concerned!  He didn't address the ear ringing, doesn't think it's related to any of the treatment!  Go figure!  I will follow with ENT but have to see PCP first in December!  However, I've noticed the last day or so, it seems to be lessening!

He wants the PCP to be sure and check my cholesterol, not sure why he isn't doing it, but said if PCP didn't he would order it!  Had an episode over the weekend that "could" have been "heart" related!  YAY!!!  I really don't think so, as he said that doesn't normally leave you with that "sore" feeling, so it's more than likely muscular or skeletal due to my scoliosis, but if it happens again, I'm to stop the Tamoxifen for 3 weeks and see if symptons go away!

I just hate not being able to get an MRI or something so I'll know where I stand!!  I know, I know, all of you are going to say insist, and believe me, I really have tried, but insurance won't pay without "just cause"!  And no Doctor seems to think peace of mind is just cause!

Anyway, that's my update!  Guess I should be thankful, just so hard to get used to all the new aches and pains and not be scared!

Chevy- that kids drawing about the Mommy and the pole shovel... reminds me of an elaborate drawing my middle daughter drew for her 2nd grade teacher years ago. It was me inside a big cave with the other 2 sisters... she wrote underneath Daddy always says Mommy Caves and is a splunker!

Her teacher made it a point of showing it during an open house....said she laughed lots when she saw what my kid wrote!  grrr. Thanks Dad.
