Loverly and I could be BFFs. I just feel it!

Bonus afternoon with not one but TWO hail storms! I had to replace my roof in 2013 due to a bad hail storm that summer that screwed up everything around here. I have not seen this much rain here since the summer I moved here in 1996 when El Ninjo did a big dump like it is doing here right now.

I gave up on going to the gym because it was hailing and now there won't be time, so there is always tomorrow. Meanwhile, I am going out to meet a friend for drinks. I have my priorities!

I will have a drink for Chevy, or two.......

The rain just skipped California and went straight to NM. We were suppose to get some yesterday.

Smaaarty and Rose, tried the pillows and they ended up on the floors in the morning.

Sounded like you found a good Vet, Rose Usually, the animal can tell too! You have peony in your garden? Nice.

MS BLONDIE, JAZZY MAY BE RIGHT ABOUT THE MORPHINE CAUSING YOUR BLURRED VISION. I REMEMBER HAVING A HARD TIME FOCUSING AFTER I HAD SURGERY IN JANUARY AND I DID GET MIRPHINE AT THAT TIME. DURAGESIC CAN DO THAT TO YOU TOO.

Mommy, are you under the weather?

HI1, how is moving coming along? Good thing you will have the cruise to look forward to afterwards.

Susan, which one are you in the picture?

Ms Spookie, the gloves are not meant for Ms Chevy to use on you haha. They are for her to use on her nephew and grandson. Well, she might use it on you if you continue to taunt her with the Florida weather updates.

Jazzy, behave yourself and hope you have fun

Patty, u ok? No stomach bugs.

    Mag, you are back

Loverofl- Well you sound better! I agree with you the animal can tell. My beloved bc Tess gave the paws up. I love your posts and the sunshiny cupcakes so cute!

I am with you Chevy on cold. I am so cold I just can't stand it. Got a long sleeve shirt, fleece vest, thick fleece zip up jacket, under a blanket on the bed. I have enough fat why am I not warm? The space heater is on and the house is set for 70 degrees. Where is a freakin hot flash when you need one???? The one side effect I crave and NOPE DENIED! This is BS... Life is so unfair. My hands are cold and white... DH was like where ya going not watchin the news?? No gotta be one with the space heater. Whaaaahhh Somebody turn up the heat a little. pity party..

Saw a little of the flooding in Texas and the South.. geez awful. Missed CA bummer, they need the rain. Hope you all have nice WARM weekend.

Had a fun night out. Little socializing and little "marketing" too. Went to a local brewery that actually has good food. Lots of breweries all over the city now, but most of them just have awful food. Just a couple beers. No big drinking for me anymore.

And the rain continues, another T-storm coming on. We are going to break some records here with rainfall this month.

I'm back..............Hp came back from manufacture. They replaced the keyboard , fixed the audio(I hope), replaced a battery on something, and a few other things. It was still under the one year warranty. I figured make them fix it before warranty runs out.. But these new keys look mighty fragile and raised at the edges on a few. Hp is checking back in on Tuesday next. By that time I should know if anything is awry. 90 day warranty on repair.  Took about a half hour to get by the password, but got it done.

Chevy, DGS is in trouble and DD is calling you?  Well maybe she's paying attention to what you said the last time.

YES Rosie, I have something new. Jersey Swirl by L.G Wright. Lemonade picture and six glasses. The original mold was by Windsor in the late 1800's The mold was bought by Wright. There's no way to tell if this is the old or reproduction. The reproduction is from the early to mid 1900's. It's so cool. The intention was for a wedding gift ---not going to happen. Perfect for Sangria. I'll bring back pics. Glass just isn't made like the old days.

Blondie did the vision thing start after the Morphine? Pretty sure you have lots of meds, could be a drug interaction or a direct side effect.

Going to find some Jersey Swirl pics.

Got the above for 40$ a steal........can I keep myself from now collecting other pieces? Here's the plates I located on line.

Jersey swirl pattern pressed glass, 8 antique vintage glass dinner plates

Going to be tough to resist. Do I use the rational that I got the picture and glasses for cheap?

WHAT are you guys doing with pillows? Yes YOU Smarty and Rosie! Is there something I missed and should know about?

I forgot to say HEY Mags! Good you were here, if even for a brief instant!

Spookers! Yes, we have to tease each other... just because we can.... Hah! Yes, it is 72 degrees right this minute where you are, and YOU are expecting lightning storms today AND tomorrow.... And your humidity is NOW 88% which means you are not only hot, but also damn HUMID.... It's like going into the shower, with only hot water on, door shut, and try and breathe! And no use in even TRYing to dry off... just go run around all over the house and neighborhood NAKED at a pretty good clip, and see if THAT dry's you off.... Can't happen.

ROSIE! You are COLD? I know... Our bodies just can't adjust to whatever the hell is going on lately. That was funny... your "hot-flash" question!

When I'm with DD, she all of a sudden starts looking for just SOMEthing to fan herself off with! Even her purse! I start blowing on her face.... And by the time we are done laughing, it is over! I remember my Avon lady used to say when they hit her at night, she would jump up, throw her clothes off, and lay on the floor... sweat pouring off her head....

I just never really had a hot flash... I had "warm waves" when I was on Tamoxifen, but no freakin' flash.

Oh? Jazzy is still getting rain... and we're NOT.

Okay, and Blondie just wants to go to Florida... And remain there for eternity, sounds like! Yes... go stay with step-daughters.... take turns with them.... or they will drive you nuts...

Better yet, try staying in some hotel somewhere, with handsome escorts and concierge's or whatever they are.... and meals brought to you on a tray with a rose in a vase.....!!! THAT will be your new hospice!

Okay now Sass.... Yes... DD calls, but we are just not getting into heavy stuff... it hurts her to talk about it... so now I just listen... I can't do anything to help, just be there for her...

GS isn't in trouble... but he is avoiding her... Has his own life.... works with his Brother, so that is the good part... But she just wants him to be the way he was... I don't know what the problem is, but I don't think I want to know.... either.

So okay ..... got everybody covered... I don't know nothin' about morphine or drugs...

Have a nice Saturday gals...! xoxoxo

And Loverly needs RAIN! Can't believe how dry California is now! If we could just squeeze Ca. a little closer to those WET states, it would sure help!

Blondie- I hope the doctors will let you get away to FL for a few weeks too. My guess is you will have to come off the morphine in order to be able to travel though. Will you fly or will they drive down? My hope is the later. Being by the ocean is so healing.

    Sassy- those plaques are nice!

I am waking up to dark skies and sprinkles. Supposed to rain again today, then be nice for a few days, then rain again. I am going to start building the ark today.....

rose, I found a heated throw at target a few years ago. Perfect for our winters when the heat isn't on, but a bit chilly. Then I decided to put it ON my bed and sleep on top with a blanket. Even better. I don't have central heat a/c.

This pic gives you a sense of the storms in the desert right now.

I think of the song "I miss you like the desert misses the rain". Except the desert is basking in the glorious moisture!

OK I'm behind again. I'm tired of the last 2 weeks and want a do-over.

Looks like I last read on May 5, that would be about right though maybe a bit surprised at the date. I had to have a repeat colonoscopy for bleeding that TaDa turned out to be you guessed it my hemorrhoids. Looks like rubber band office surgery later in the year since I've met the 1st part of my deductible. After that it was one busy week with Friday the 8th flying into town to meet an old nursing school buddy that I hadn't seen in 20 years. We had about 1.5 hours to catch up between her engagements for niece's NS graduation at TCU. The next Monday - that was onto this week - I had derm. appt. for what turned out to be nothing "things we get as we get older". HaHa funny guy.

And in between we are fighting this nasty weather. I wish I could ship railroad containers full of rain to CA. Our county has missed PTL the tornado action and much of the flash flooding - at least that on a grand scale. Our side yard flooded so much DH has restricted my laundry behaviors for a while. Showers and dishes only with a rare laundry effort. Thank goodness we have stocks of undies left from when I was working. We've had a respite of a couple of days but it returns overnight with a vengeance. I've read on a weather board Texas may continue until mid June with this rainy pattern. Bless El Nino's heart.

BUT I mostly got on today for this. I do see that the tornado map has Phyllis in the top part of the bulls eye. Hoping you stay safe today Phyllo. Forgot to say how awesome it was to see you had returned home and with your youngun too. Check in when you can.

Have the page open where I left off. Will try to read thru.

Jazzy, you floating away too? My mossy places are growing moss on top. Neighbor moved in in early 2009 and has never seen water this high here.

I think I'm going to be happy this is an ElNino year. "they" say that suppresses hurricane formation. Yes, I wish Cali would get rain, but I don't want to get blown away either.

Rosevalley, I have the same response to meds. I'm cold all the time. I think I had 2 or 3 warm flushes, then back to freezing.

Hey Owlettes! I never really go away, it's just that most of the time I have nothing to say. Other times I have too much to say and don't know where to start. Last week I spent 2 nights in a hospital recliner while DH was fighting some kind of liver issue. We are still unsure of its origin or extent, but he has an appointment with his PCP and I'm going along. We had to have a long talk about reciprocation as I reminded him of what we have been through in the past year and how I did it for him and his job is to get healthy for me now. My dear cousin has him on a liver detox regimen and it seems to be working as he is not sleeping all the time, sleeping through the night, and has more energy. It was touch and go. He fell several times and ended up with a small subdural hematoma which they had to monitor for a couple of days to make sure it wasn't going to grow. I'm hoping we are on track now.

Saw my MO this week and he is very pleased with my blood work and also the bone density is good. He doesn't think I need another scan until year end. All good on that front. He says the chest muscle tightness and pain is an SE of rads, and since I had some chest muscle removed.

Other than that, same old boring life. Be sure that I visit at least once a day. Y'all are my second family.

Oh, and Jazzy, your pics of storms reminded me of this artwork I did years ago as an illustration for a sermon. The photo was taken in the mountains just east of you back in 1982 or so by my ex husband and I added the type to it.

Mags- I am sorry to hear about your husband's liver problems. I hope the docs can figure out what is going on with that. It has been a stressful year for your family. I like your photo above too!

    What would you have done/said?

Was invited to a small cookout today. Me, DH, Bill, and hostess. Hostess is a uniboober. Hostess was wearing a tank top. Her foob kept popping out. Once it was out for a few minutes before she noticed.

I didn't know what to say. The guys would have made some smart a$$ comment.

If it had been me, no matter how nicely guest told me, I would have crawled under the couch.

    wren44 Posts: 8,071

I think you did the right thing to keep quiet. Maybe some day you can discuss the problems of keeping foobs in place. I know you don't wear them, but you could say you saw it here or at the doctor's. I've found it to be tricky to keep the foob in place and have it and the real one at the same latitude.

  • Rosevalley
    Rosevalley Posts: 1,664

Pretty funny.. even if the foob has weights the damn things do migrate because there isn't skin to cemment it in place. You have to have a bra on so snug that it keeps it there. I tried it for a year.. if the bra was snug enough it resistricted fluid in my lymph left arm.. finally gave up. Took the other side out and go flat, enough of this. I guess I would have pretended I didn't see at the dinner. Kind of like when someone's fly is down and you ignore it.

Mag, who are you calling weirdos? Rose tried to call me one and I have proof:

Loverly- whew woman what did they give you to have you so wide eyed and bushy tailed? I hope they gave you something to be comfy. I always feel odd after anesthesia.

I was under anesthesia 15 hours prior to posting. Odd = Eccentric = weirdo Loopy

You know I could hear her laughing

Jazzy, beautiful lightning pic. Could you tell El Niño to go back west and leave Goats and Phyllis alone?

Oh my Ms. Spookie!! The poor lady!! I would pull her aside and tell her gently. She didn't know it was hanging out probably because she had no feelings there.
