Sassy, The last sentence cracked me up.

Hole, Congrats on the house closing.

I am dying to travel, but DH has a leg problem that limits walking and we always walk a lot on trips. We took a cruise but didn't care for it - kept wanting to get off the boat and go camping. I'm hoping to talk him into Hawaii. We've been there enough that we've seen most of the sights. We could just veg on the beach and eat lots of papaya.

Hello everyone! Hope you all have a blessed Memorial weekends. DH and younger daughter are at church camp for the weekend and DD is stuck at home with me or maybe it's the other way around. She is cleaning the bathrooms for me as I am typing. Tried cleaning the toilet this morning and the chest muscle was protesting...then, I heard my Doctor's voice. " promise me you won't do any house work for two weeks".....Ooppsy

Wren, I had a good laugh too with the last sentence. Which islands have you been to? Love Maui and the Big Island. Oahu is nice too, but I like the other two better because they are not as crowded. Love the farmers market on Big Island....all the papayas you could eat because they were so inexpensive and good. The strawberry papayas were so sweet. Didn't realize until later that some Hawaiian papayas were GMO contaminated :( I might grow an extra ear or toe in the future...oh well. Both Hubby and DD love Oahu because of all the excitement.

Hi1, congrats on the closing of your home. Hope you will enjoy the cruise with your friend.

Jazzy, you have been to the Middle East....cool. Couldn't join my husband when he went to Israel and Jordan. There are so much history there.

Ms. Chevy, did you get more plants for your garden? How is your nephew?

Younger Sis is coming to take us to lunch at Crepeville. Yay I get to get out of the bird cage!

Sassy....! What does she mean girls? Can someone please translate?

We just had a REAL frog-strangler!!!! I mean pouring RAIN, and hail, and thunder, and I was OUT there, trying to cover my tomatoes!

Theresa even called....I thinks he was scared.... all alone there in that room....! I told her to open her door, and yell across the hall, and maybe..... just MAYBE that old guy across the hall would hear her, and invite her into his room, and those two could listen to their TV easy-listening music! He told HER about it... channel 948.... ! Then she wouldn't be scared. She just laughed. I told her to close her blinds, and go to bed..... and call me again if she gets scared.

Janie called ME to see if it was hailing HERE! It wasn't, but then it started REALLY coming down! Now I'm soaked....

Loverly.... I haven't heard how my Brother's Son is.... I've asked, but he didn't answer.... He/they have gone through so much with him.... I'm kind of afraid to ask.... I'll call him tomorrow.... and just casually ask what is going on....

I'm about set with my garden..... if the weather will just leave it all alone.... Now the Sun looks like it is coming out.... !

Baking a little Pork Roast with potatoes... Also cleaned and micro-waved 5 ears of corn, to take off the cob, and then freeze....

Have you guys seen those little green tomatoes? They are something different, and not just green tomatoes.... wondered if they taste good?

HaHaha. Went back and edited it or should I? I laugh at my writing sometimes too. I welcome all corrections. I told you it was a miracle I made it through college. I am better in math... I think.

I feel so much better now. My babies are home. Aaaaah. Big guy came home last night but Rose would not poo so she had to stay. Big guy slept all evening and through the night. Called the vet this morning, Rose had done her duty so we went and picked her up. She is crashed. When we picked up the boy last night there was a lady there with a Boston terrier, got to chatting and when we told her what our kids had, she said that was the same thing hers had. And the vet said they had had a couple more with the same thing though not as bad as ours, and they are still trying to narrow down the cause. Can't find a common activity or food or even environment except we are all in the same town. Yesterday I told the vet to tell Rose that mommy said if she didn't poo I would beat her pink and purple. Not necessary after all.

I was musing that after the hell I've been through the past year it was the thought of losing my Rose that broke me.

I know Mags.... We just try everything we can to help them! Hopefully it WORKS! Congratulations! Glad they are home with you!

Maybe they got some kind of air-borne virus? Maybe will never know! Just be on the look-out for that again....

I know when some cities spray for weeds, from those trucks, they tell all the pet-owners to keep their pets in the house for a couple days... not let them get out on the sprayed surfaces....

Great news Mags, was getting worried you hadn't posted. There is a new strain of dog flu going around, thought it was around Chicago area, but dogs travel too.

    Chit--long post----------------------------gone

Mags  so happy the dogs are okay. Even more HAPPY DANCE. They are as close to our heart as any human. Please, call the 800# on the dog food package. Even if it doesn't seem reasonable to the situation. These things are required to be tracked once reported. The China fiasco was finally identified after enough reports were made. It took a long time for the FDA to make a connection. Too many animals lost their lives.

When my two went through it, Both dogs turned their noses up at the food. We've all had that happen. I told them to eat. JB ate, Rascal refused. JB got sick>>>>IV's and over night stay. Rascal fine.

Odd memory just came forward-------Rascal wouldn't eat McDonalds beef

Yay Mags! I have 6 furkids myself- so terrible that we can't communicate better with them to figure out what is wrong.

    Blondie- thinking of you!

Netti- glad to see you! you look wonderful!

Sas- congrats on having such awesome kiddos!

Rose- very touching story. Thank goodness for people like you and your DH for adopting.

Susan- ugh- LE is so frustrating. Mine is more active on my prophy side. Thanks universe!

Just skimmed the last few pages, will read more later.

    Hope everyone is well.

Trying to not float away here! but will not complain about the rain- we need it so bad here.

    xoxoxoxoxoxoxo to you all!!

Amazing---just intensely thinking about  Jwoo and Susan and there they are----------ESP does exist.

When I was younger and I would start  to think or getting a signal about someone...I'd call them. In that time long distance calling was very expensive.. I learned to just keep intensely thinking about them-----they would call me   :)

Sassy, I can think about what I want for dinner and DH will end up deciding that's what we should have. Nice. Interesting that Rascal won't eat McDonald's beef. Neither will I, especially after hearing that.

Mags, So happy your furbabies are back where they belong. I do think you should report it to the food company. It's really scary that it hit them so fast and they were so sick.

Susan, Someone who had LE said that repetitive movements can make it worse. Keep an eye out to see if knitting does anything. I hope not.

mags, you should google the dog flu that's going around, it was in our paper.

Hi all, all we need now is 2nd, blessings, and a few more to peep in and then we will all be here! It's been awhile.

I've been busy with my mom. She caught the flu the great Gkids had along with the UTI! Yesterday she was just fine when all of a sudden she pops up and starts choking on a pill shehad just taken. Scared the crap out of me. She didn't turn blue but close. Once I had her calmed down she could tell she was breathin. Took quite awhile to get her calm. Wore her out. she is so ready to go and there's no way to help with that.

The first phone call to Pedigree was lot's of questions.......I figured  great, they really care....Didn't know they were required to report problems. Later found that out. The follow up phone call from them was strange, but I got it figured out. The pedigree Vet re-questioned what the breed the dogs were----I deduced they were looking for sniffing ability. JB was a Brittany--great sniffer except he obeyed a command. Rascal was a schnauzer beagle cross breed, that wouldn't obey that command. She was a rascal in every meaning of the word.

Your right Wren... When I offered her a McDonalds hamburger and she sniffed and turned her head away. Then said something like 'common Rascal eat it'. She wouldn't. I was off McDonalds beef for along time.

Oh Smarrty, Scarey, So sorry, oh what trouble........Suggestions, tell her to take a half glass of water before the pills, if her musus membarnes are dry it will moisten the path, then when she puts the pills in her mouth with water shake it around in her mouth before she swallows.

    Memory----ewhhhhhhhhh

Dinner table :Ds was 12(30 now), he choked on a piece of steak. His initial reaction was to try and clear it with water. As soon as I saw the water spilling back out of his mouth and the panic in his eyes, I knew he was blocked. I threw the chair aside and told Dh to call 911. I did the Hiemlich. The first thrust lifted him off the floor. Repositioned and did it twice more. The third thrust cleared it. We all collapsed for a few minutes. My poor Mom once I told her what was going on, cried--her cry was heartbreaking. Then I asked Greg why he didn't call 911 when I asked. His response was. "I wanted to see if It worked". Once we were all recovered, I did a teaching thing about activation of 911. Dear Greg had been through the training, but never in an emergency. Actual application of the training--- get them in route.

God bless Dr Heimlich. They're was great controversy between him and the American Heart Association(AHA) for about 2 decades. It was a crazy time. AHA did and demanded stupid things. Then they have finally followed the way of Dr Hiemlich

He did his research initially on dogs. I didn't know that when I used the Hiemlich on my female Brittany. She was choking and I did the fist thrust in the abdomen----it worked. What was amazing is within a few weeks, she choked again, she came to me and I did the Hiemlich.. She knew.

I did the Hiemlich on her not knowing that the original research was done on dogs or could be done on dogs. I just believed.

Just got back from 5 Guys with the DD1 and DD3. My kids are so funny they just dove silently- eyes shut into their pimped out burgers.. then fries.. salted peanuts chased by fountain root beer. Life is good. I want to know what is put in Cherry Vanilla Coke to make it so irresistable. I don't even like coke but cherry vanilla coke.. "help me I am weak!"

Loverof life- that picture of Crepe was too much! Both DH and I used to love going to the Magic Pan back East and having strawberry crepes and whipped cream, drizzled with chocolate. Glad you had fun.

The poop post was pretty funny. Glad the dogs are fine and back home, Mags! That's a relief. Someday it will be sunny again.. overcast and grey endlessly grey, cold and drizzly. Chevy lets complain that winter has to leave! The plants love it, my garden is bursting... broccoli is a foot high and my hostas are 2 feet across! Stay dry ya'll in Texas and New Mexico. How come the rains don't go where they are needed most... I'll try and find a picture of DD1 from the orphanage and after being in the states. Susan I have lymphadema in my left arm where they did the axillary removal 17 nodes. no feeling under the arm and it's many inches bigger. I gave up on a sleeve and just manually move fluid out at the end of the day and put my arm up on pillows. Getting my left arm into a shirt is tricky..one size bigger. Lots of gardening or being on a plane or long road trip/day trip with it down and it swells more. I feel for you.

I found some nice long sleeve pull over shirts on Woman Within. Haven't tried them over the LE garment, got too warm for the shirts. But seem to be big enough.

I want a LE pump, and will start harassing Humana to get it, soon. I hate the garments, wrapping, MLD, all of it. An hour a night while I'm on BCO seems easier.

Spookie put a scratch on my arm last night, leaked lymph for about 4 hours. Ugh!!! What a mess. Not hot or red, will continue to watch it.

Hiya - wow...I'm only on page 823 and you ladies are already on 829!! Hopefully will be able to go back and catch up in the next day or two.

My busy week is now slowing down since DD2's plays are done now and they were the last thing on my list of activities for this week. I did a marathon cleaning of the kitchen and family room this morning. My goal is to *try* to keep up with the clean...wish me luck on that one! Baby steps, though...my goal this past week was to go through junk mail every day or two so it doesn't pile up and I was able to do that successfully, so that made me happy.

Allergies are bothering me a lot...I tried ClaritinD to see if that would help. It did help last night and this morning for my allergies - less runny nose and sneezing - but I didn't sleep well at all with it, and I felt like it made my pulse faster so I am not taking it tonight. Some of the other ones make me sleepy, though, so I need to find one that will work.

My poor pups are coughing. Not sure if it is allergies for them or some dog cold. Spencer started with the cough on Monday and his is improving, but now Dixie has a cough that she started with yesterday. I will take them to the vet if it doesn't get better. I'm thinking if we got some rain to wash away the pollen, that might help.

    Have a good night, all!

Spookie- sorry to hear about your arm. What does an LE pump do, pump out excess fluid? Concerned for your situation too, wishing you the best with Humana. Get one of your cancer docs to push it for you?

Mags- great news on the dogs being home. Whew!

Melp- try Allegra D. I used to have an Allegra script in my youth, but now they have an over the counter that really works. No sleepiness or other things. It is my allergy drug of choice.

Heading to Santa Fe for a few days. Going to the botanical gardens on the way in today. Will share any good pics after my journey!
