Loveroflife- yes, I am going on a biz trip tomorrow. I think I got my bases covered for today.

Ending today with a nice trip to the nail salon. Got a mani/pedi and waxing. I usually have my eyebrows shaped but I asked today "see anything else that need attention" and she was pulling on some hair around my lip! Dang, another bonus of no estrogen. We got rid of that today too. I feel all prettied up!

So sad...my sweet beagle, Spencer is no longer with us. He's been having some troubles lately and he woke up in distress in the middle of the night last night. I am missing him a lot, so is the rest of the family. Our little Dixie has been down in the dumps all day.

Mel- I am so sorry about your puppy being gone. Big hugs coming your way. Pets are part of the family and am sure you are all missing Spencer tonight.

Ah Mel, so sorry about your sweet Spencer. When you mentioned last how he was having a hard time getting off the bed or sofa, I thought about my younger Sis's dachshund mix that she had to put down the 2 week before. So energetic with no mean bones in him. He would lick you until you get annoyed with him. Very sweet and loving but not the brightest, poor guy. He was paralyzed suddenly and could not pee/poop. The humane thing to do was to put him down. He was still spunky till the end. Pets have a special place in our hearts. When they are gone, that parts in our hearts are gone with them. I hate that emptiness feeling.

But the swelling has gone down. They want to fit me for a sleeve Thursday . Somehow they don't understand, tight makes my skin freak out...need another option. I seldom wear bras cause the band under the boobs dies the same thing. Never pants around the waist....same issues.. I'm am just so sensitive ...lol. Not the personality :

Susan, oh no hubby will help decipher our codes? He is going to think we are a bunch of wackos. PTL for the decrease in swelling. My skin is crazy sensitive too. I developed a bad rash from the ace bandage the surgeon used to wrap my chest. On top of that, I had weeping rash wherever the drain tubings touched my skin. It was nasty. Still have the scars from that and hope they will fade over times. My torso looks like a treasure map with all the red scar marks left behind by different surgeries and brown marks from allergies to the drain tubings. C'est la vie.

Have you looked into exercises to help manually move lymph fluid?

Mel, Sorry about Spencer. Their passing leaves a hole in our lives. Eventually good memories fill the hole somewhat, but it takes time. Hugs.

Chevy--My motto has always been like Almond Joys and Mounds..."Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes I don't."

As for skimming, look for RFID blocking liners or credit card holders. I have a really cute Brighton card holder that's not technically an RFID blocker but the metal makes it very difficult to read.

Jazzy--that bites but at least you got some coffee cake to drown the frustration. I got hung up in the Target melee a couple of Christmases ago but I was fortunate not to have to do anything more than get a new card. One of my coworkers has been hit twice by cc fraud on her debit card. One of them was for $6K by someone in Guatemala. GUATEMALA!! The cc company should have seen a red flag at least by the second $1000 dollar charge. Good on your cc company for catching it so quickly.

For my story...it's actually kind of apropos: "I wanted a policeman because the voices in my head said so.".

Susan--a couple of weeks after my surgery, I developed a seroma in my arm pit and started having lymphedema issues in my arm and wrist. I tried some of the exercises and nothing worked until one day at work I started just flexing my pec muscles repeatedly. The swelling was gone within days. My guess is that since the lymph nodes that I had removed were gone, moving the muscle helped move the fluid out.

My hair started falling out big time. I foresee a head-shaving in the next couple of days.

Mel -- sorry for your loss.

Loverly -- my backup dog is a dachshund so if I ever decide to get something other than a GSD, it will be one of those. Yoshi was an adorable guy.

Good morning sleepy-heads! I'm sorry Mel.... We just never want them to be sick, and we don't THINK about it, while we have them... But honest, it gets better... Been over a year for me, and sometimes I just get big tears in my eyes thinking about Lacee.... Hug

These Morons with the RFID readers steal your information so FAST!... And I was told by Master-card, that they will first try a small withdrawal amount, like a dollar, then if THAT works, charge something BIG, and then they email a "friend" with your CC or debit number, and the "friend" will then charge something also! That's why I had a charge from Florida! Don't know if they EVER catch these thieves...

Also, another report on the on-going saga from THE HOME! Now Theresa heard that OLD CECIL shot his SON IN LAW!!! Of all things! So she thinks SIL is in the hospital, and maybe CECIL is now residing in another assisted living place, most likely the pokey! Can you IMMAGINE? These wild guys just can't tame themselves down....

I thought he REALLY must have piffed him off! The gals at the Beauty Shop where Theresa is, will give her more details today, when she gets her hair colored! Hah! She STILL has her hair permed, colored, styled at NINETY ONE!!! The beauty room, is almost right across from OLD CECILS room.... so those gals will know for SURE!

I told Theresa I'll bring her a bullet-proof vest, for when she eats her meals with Cecil.... if he ever comes back, which is probably never...

Who knew he would be packing a weapon? I'll bet his DAUGHTER told him to do it, and that SHE brought him the gun!!! Maybe her Husband was a habitual criminal or something! And it was SHE who transpired to have her old DAD do the deed!

More details as they come in.... from the OLD FOLKS HOME blotter!

And did you see that 96 year old woman on AMERICA'S GOT TALENT last night? She danced with this young dude, and she was pretty good, but MAN, it just kinda wasn't RIGHT!!! She LOOKS 96, and so does her body, but she could move around better than MOST women in their 60's... not to even THINK of 70's!!!! I felt like a lazy slug watching her.... I wanted to get up and DANCE, or at least WALK like her! And she SKIPPED off the damn stage! All 4 judges liked them! So they will be on again.... and I can cringe some more.

Chevy--she doesn't have a pole! Better pray that her GS doesn't drop her and break her hip!

Those beauty shop ladies at the care homes always have the best gossip. My gran went once a week for the 4 years she was at the home and I would sometimes sit with her while she had her hair set. I learned the juiciest info from them--the best was how a cantankerous old guy with Alzheimer's that was always trying to hit the staff just suddenly died in his sleep one night....hmmmm. Cecil better pray he doesn't end up somewhere like that

Marla.... When we stopped to see Wilma, before we went to Theresa's room, she SAID "I wonder if it has anything to do with Cecil?" Because she said "that guy is must weird!".... So she must have known something....

Tower what are you up to today?

Every time Chevy tells her story, I tell this one. I put my wallet inside an empty aluminum almond package. At the grocery checkout  one day, I couldn't find my wallet. After a wee bit of panicking, I realized I put the package on the line. We fished it out of the groceries. Took my wallet out. Clerk credited me the charge. we all had a good laugh.

On Debit cards.---Never use your debit card except for atm work at your own bank( don't use at other atm's). There is no protection. Once the money is drawn from your account there is almost no way of recovering it. With credit cards we are protected from theft by laws. Not so with debit cards Debit cards are not  credit cards. The fraud department is not watching them. Banks do issue a combined credit card-debit card. If you have one of those call your bank and have them issue two separate cards. Frankly, if I didn't need my debit card for atm withdrawals, I wouldn't even have it.

Check out Clark Howards web site regarding credit and identity theft.

This link is to a youtube link with Clark talking about freezing your credit. It is the most secure way of preventing identity theft. Particularly if you don't need to establish more credit. His recommendation is to limit your credit cards to two major bank credit cards. Avoid store cards like Lowe's, Penny's etc.  You would have to study his site for the numerous reasons and How to do's things.

Link on freezing. There are pro's and con's regarding freezing. Be sure it fit's your needs before you do it'

If you choose not to do a credit freeze. You can request a fraud alert on your credit. Thery're two types 90 day & 7 year.

90 day alert: Problem is it can only be done for 90 days at a time. It can be done by phone. They are abysmal to contact. You must contact each agency every 90 days.

7 year fraud alert---Is more complicated, but can be accomplished in the event of a identity theft. You can have a 7 year fraud alert placed on the three credit reporting agencies. A request must be sent in writing to each  credit reporting agency with a copy of the police report. Without a police report they will not put the fraud alert in place.

Several years ago I went through this process for a 7 year alert. I was told that I only had to send the letter and the police report to one agency. They in turn would contact the other two. What I found out recently when we had the credit discussion a few pages ago is Experian did NOT contact the other two.

Clark Howard recommends sending the request for a freeze by certified mail. Based on what I know now the 7 year alert should be sent by certified mail also.

Marley, you are onto something for sure. As soon as I read it light bulbs went on. I would suggest going to the lymphedema page and locate Binney4 or Kara. See what those particular two members say about your suggestion. Binney and Kara are the gurus of lymphedema. Also, Copy and paste your post to them by PM. This may be a suggestion that's out in the lymphedema world already, but if it isn't chickie- you may have just changed the world.

Marley Cut and paste you post to Whippetmom---Deborah too for her comments. Tell her I sent you.

As a added thing. I have trouble with the foobs slipping into the armpits. Long ago I got into a swimming routine for the exercise. I have to do the backstroke b/c of spinal problems. After the first few days of swimming, I noticed that the girls were staying up front and were very perky. The pecs were keeping them in better position LOL.
