Spooks: it's been a long hot summer. I am ready for LESS RAIN (skylight still leaking) and cooler temps. 60's in the AM would be lovely.
Chevy: I would love me some 57 degrees,,,, I got me a nice little hoodie that works until we hit the 40's.
Sas: how is brother today? Get labs back yet? It would be nice if they let him sleep until 6. I could never understand why some would profile PO meds or SQ injections for the middle of the night. FFS,, let the poor patient sleep from midnight to 6AM.
Hello to MammaRay: Sorry for bad news on PET scan. Sending you a virtual hug. How is the homeschooling going? First grade is such a fun stage. Hope your father is doing better.

I hear ya on the rain. The local weather guy said a cold front would stall about over you. Would dry out the air some. Lucky!! Sorry about the roof, call the HOA again.

Yeah, I'll be calling. We also have a lot of standing water around our grounds,,, mosquito breeding puddles! UGH!! Need a few hot days to dry them up, but according to the forecast,,,it looks like more rain starting Tuesday. Crap on a Chapstick.

Best photo bomb ever!

Several of the sentinel chickens have tested positive for West Nile virus, so county has been fogging and aerial spraying for mosquitoes. Can almost stay out side now!!

On our way to church right now. DD1 is driving. I think I have mastered the art of back seat driving!! Hip is now sore from tensing up. Blood pressure is probably up. How do other parents do it? Trying to do the yoga breathing and typing to calm myself down. DD asked me the other day, " Mom, why do you always hang on to the door handle whenever I turn?" Didnt realize. I am trying hard not to show her how nervous I get when she is driving, but I am a terrible actress

DD took drivers Ed in HS. Took a lot of pressure off me. We did go to school parking lot on Sun afternoons and practiced.
And she flunked her first driving test. I cried more than she did. After she passed, those car keys became a great weapon. Good grades, be home on time, don't be stupid in the car. Or else!!!!
This is what she drove. Still have it.

It's pink???

Spookie and Loverly,
I did the same thing. Told DS one wrong move and it was mine. 1993 Dodge stealth. We bought it in 1997(8?). Love the car. Ds was in love with the car. He also, failed his fist driving test. He was mortified. Car is still sitting at side of house. He had more than half the money saved from birthday & Christmas money etc.
I love the story around the car. We'd been looking. He wanted this stupid Prism. Ugly car. Not cool at all. He threw one of only two tantrums. The other was as a toddler. I had my books. Prism wasn't a safe car for me. Let him cool down for a day. Then he was scrolling on Autotrader .com. I said "It had to be cool for him, safe for me, and no payment for his Dad. When these three converging points came together you'll get a car". Just as I finished saying that, he comes across the Stealth. My books were in Orlando with Greg, but I checked the NHSTA rating it was 5 on occupant injury rating on the drivers side. I was great with that. We found a seller on the second try. Went and saw it the next evening.
The deal was struck. Driving away, I read Consumers Report description, "Dodge Stealth made by Mitshubisi to be in completion with the Chevy Corvette". "OH Chit, we just bought him a high performance car". The guys were in the front. They looked at each other. Panic. She's going to kill the deal. That's when I told him it was mine if he screwed up. He never did

Loverlife- I can so relate when DD2 learned how to drive my BP was over the top and I was board solid tense! I gave learning to drive over to DH who is calm cool and collected- thank goodness. DD2 is a good driver now, a little over confident, but careful and can drive in Portland traffic on all those bridges with the best of them - at 19! I am proud. I didn't go back very far to my last vent, sorry just bone tired and short of breath.. do a little and rest, no stamina. My sats just keep dropping, cancer is busy.
I am having a terrible guilt ride this morning. My DD1 is having a scope on the 15th and I promised her we would be with her back in June. I just can't drive to Portland and stay and help. I am sore, it's hard to bend and I get too tired and short of breath doing just abot anything. DH has missed so much work he can't go either. He missed all day Friday being with me. So her terrific foster parents will have to go. I feel like I am letting my kid down. ugh.. makes me want to cry. That was the entire reason we placed DD1 there was so when my health tanked she would be safe and cared for, and they do a great job. I know she will be fine but she texted umpteen times "you're going to come with me right Mom? Maybe Dad?" sigh.. ugh.
I need to pull it together already, using too many tissues. DH just went to get DD1 and bring her here. My college age DD2 is driving from Portland to have lunch and has turned vegan.. so DH scrambled to find grillable tofu dogs! My DD3 peeled and cooked a crockpot full of apples off our dwarf tree. They are very tart and with brown sugar and cooked down are yummy - and vegan. whew. My DD3 is here and so all my girls will be here for the day. Yay... it's sunny and cooler and I feel most blessed to have a day with them all. It doesn't happen very often we are all together and I am feeling my cancer and weakness accutely this morning. Hoping I don't wilt and need a nap. Wish me stamina!
Have a great Sunday. Hugs to you all.

Yep, it's pink. One of a few hundred from the factory in 67. We never did a title search on it, have been told it was a radio promo give away, or a Playboy Bunny car. Hefner was known to give top bunnies cars, and there was a Playboy Club in Miami. It came through Jax.
Funny about the Stealth.

Glennie your right LOL SPOOKIE now hates pink, but it was okay then. I've been trying to get Spookie to come for a few days. How about you? Then maybe we can contact RaiderGirl(she's in Daytona). It actually would help me. I've been procrastinating far too long on fixing up DS old room. I brought a bed back from Tampa. It's standing very neatly in the living room. It's so EASYYYYYYYYYYY to put off doing something. I need to get it done for the holidays. Could have been done before now. But I'm better when I have a reason to do stuff. Always used to plan something and then figure out what projects I wanted done
The pool is heated. Close to Cocoa Beach and Cocoa Village Wildlife preserve is close and season is about to start for birdwatching. Also, directly across from the space center. Hopefully, one of the space shooters cooperates and has a lift off.
DB Charlie has been stable at 8.5 plus or minus .2 for two(+) days. He's being discharged. I explained why he needs home oxygen. He got it. YAY. His docs and nurses don't understand , otherwise, the order would have been written already.
He has acute anemia which is way different than chronic anemia. The body doesn't do well with acute anemia. The pulse oximetry measures the hemoglobin saturation only. But when he is near 50 % of his original hemoglobin, that means the available oxygen that his body cells are used to isn't there. It's 50% less. In acute anemia that translates physically to increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, rapid fatigue with normal movement, fuzzy thinking. Considering he's up for valve surgery and his ejection fraction b/c of two valve malfunction has dropped to the 40's. He needs home O2.
When I pushed for oxygen the other day, I had to explain this to the nurse the other day. She got it. The doc didn't, but he ordered a chest xray----which is the medicare way of getting it covered for payment in the hospital. Maybe I should call Medicare too LOL. He won't be on oxygen forever, just until his body can build back up his hemoglobin.
AHhah---------------the hospitalist and the cutter(urologist) don't get it. Told DB I wouldn't call, but I am. May not accomplish what needs to be done, but it won't be for lack of trying.

Just got my grade on my Poe essay I had a hard time writing. Out of 100 possible points, I got the 100 points. The professor thought my essay was excellent!

Pisses me off. This lack of understanding about pulse oximetry has been universal since it was introduced in the 80's. Why do I know it. I read the manual that came with the unit when it was first introduced. DADA, all else fails read the directions. Machines are machines, they have directions for use. Every tool has directions. Respiratory therapists know this. I hate to say that docs and nurses don't know this, but this is classic for not knowing. Trauma folks knows this

GOOD JOB Mommy YAY............Poe can be difficult ad scary

MO, Congratulations! All those revisions paid off. Now perhaps the next one won't provoke quite as much anxiety.

Rosie, have a happy day. Your DD will understand about the scope once she see's you....hoping. All of this is just chit. Maybe trying to drain some before it all gets too active today?
Spookie, I traced DS car. Forget how though. It came up the coast. Ist buyer was in Stuart(wealthy area). Then the next owner registered it in Fort Pierce. The next was Melbourne. Then DS in Titusville. Straight up the east coast of Florida. I thought the odds on that were pretty fantastic.

Yeah, Once I got going on the final revision, the words just flowed. Hope it continues, or I'll have severe writer's block.

Way to go, Mommy!!
Sas: great that Charlie is getting discharged and you got home oxygen for him. How cool that you live close to the Space Center. When I lived down in Jupiter/Hobe Sound, I could see the launches,,, tiny tiny rocket in the sky from there,,, especially at night. Still cool, even if so far away from it. Not sure when I could get away. I still work full time, and I don't do well on long drives anymore. Hands go numb. Such fun.

Sas, glad Charlie was discharged.
Used to love watching the shuttle launches on NASA TV. It was interesting to watch all the prepping for launch and then the actual launch.

Glennie, still working on the O2, doc doesn't get it. Waiting on a phone call for him. DB Charlie feels that he can get his PCP to order it b/c they have a strong working relationship. This Hospitalist is lacking. Has been all along. I'm guessing it will be a iffy conversation. The fact that he refused it, tells me he doesn't understand acute anemia and all the compensatory mechanisms. What's really really stupid. Is by not ordering the walking test to show O2 sat for the record, he can't defend his action. It's not documented. How stupid is that. It opens him up to negligence. ..... Playing the tapes in my head for the conversation................................ Bummer on trip. If you change your mind --speak up. Okey dokey?

rose, happy you can drain at home..sorry you have to go through it
Momma ray, hang in there..sometimes it's just by our fingertips....it's certainly a rollercoaster ride. It's hard to figure out boundaries too, each treatment has its unique problems so the boundaries of your limitations always are changing. 4 years this month at stage iv.....almost 15 years of treatment since original dx. Everyday is a blessing.....all the people you meet...not so much...lol
Sas, good news about brother. You are a great sis !
Loveroflife, great pics..thanks
Happy peaceful Sunday to all
I have moved from the rabbit hole to one flew over the cookos nest. Families ughhhhhhhhhhhhh

Glennie I think you are in the direction of Gainesville? I'm 2 hours from UF. So wish DS had gone to UF
instead of FSU, 4 hours away. I only went at the beginning, graduation from undergrad, beginning of law school and graduation. I HATE long drives , so, I understand. He's in Tampa now--2hrs away. I haven't been home to Michigan or Ohio for >10years each. Where is our Littlegoats, she's usually chatty on Sunday afternoon?
0 -
Okay, talked with the Hospitalist---he's ordering the walking test...........talked with Charlie told him to walk briskly and stress himself. Hospitalist had this dreamy dreamy voice---took a second to get by that. Boring to say everything I said and he said. The bottom line is we communicated and congenial. Charlie was getting his d/c instructions. Pray for a fail. This is one instance failure is a good thing.

Yay mom!
Glennie, pleeze? It would be soooooo fun, I can think of several who would be sooooo envious! LOL, but no names. And think about Ava too.
Think you need DMV for title search. Just wish it could live in a garage now. DD would have a fit if he sold it.

Mommy- congrats on doing so well on the essay. I remember you were struggling with that one, yes? You go girl!

Chatty is trying hard to stay awake this afternoon. Her head may flop on the keyboard at any moment.
Yay Mommy on the great grade. Do you know what your next assignment is?
I'm wishing Rosie for you to have a perfect afternoon with your DDs and DH. Sassy's idea about trying to drain a bit b4 they arrive. Doze off if you must. I have great memories of my DM/GM and now I do it driifting off sitting straight up.
MammaRay - hoping/praying your new treatment plan is effective against those boogers on the PET scan. Enjoy your homeschooling. Glad your dad is doing better. Gentleman at church had his entire colon removed several years ago, doing great. Would not know anything wrong to see him. Easily in his 70s I would guess.
OK Saster - hoping DB fails this walking test. Flail arms, lift legs up, up, up. Surely nurse or therapist is following him with w/c. McDreamy voice haha.
DH says Carfax would probably not work on your mustang Spookie, too old a car but would prob. work on Sassy's 1993.
Brain is mush. Cannot remember what I read yesterday.

Pinktober fundraising in starting ladies. I just got a call to my business phone for a donation to a bc org that helps women who need $$$ for cancer treatment. I like the idea, but know my sister who also had bc) was contacted by an org whom called her and did a mailer follow up. Turns out they were a big old scam group. She felt really bad about it, she said they hit on her bc heart strings and no doubt do that with most people. Just thought I would create an awareness the "season" has started.
