That all sounds lovely ladies. But i think I have to drive up to Manitowoc on Saturday and not sure I'm up for 2 two hour trips! LOL.  Still wimpy from my knee sx. If I go to Manitowoc I plan on stopping at Sputnik Fest!. How could I not? LOL.

And yes, oncow, Port had Fish Brother restaurant and Port Hotel. But both have been overwhelmed by Twisted Willow as a place to eat. Farm to table and very yummy!. Smith Bros.  actually isn't anymore except as a snack bar at the Duluth Trading Co. Building.

    Much love to all.

Like OncoWarrior, I thought I made a mistake once but I was wrong...

She has an amazing "rainbow" collection of t-shirts, most with her signature/tag line as above or a variation of it. So many stories she should write a book.

For future meetings, we might think about a place closer to Interstate 94 that a few of the northsiders or Madison gals could access although Burlington is a cute little town with historic buildings. Both routes I took there and back were good roads (nice to know the transportation department has been spending our tax dollars well!)

Notbuyingit: since my recent 'retirement', I learned how much working for a living cuts into your free time!

definitely was a good time & a good idea to meet the women behind the posts :) so many stories, so much advice & information to share.

i know there are a few out there from Madison way...maybe we could find some middle ground

I had my surgeries at the UW Madison - seems like a interesting town...could be talked into an overnite there :)

Good morning all, looks like a gorgeous weekend ahead!  Got out for a nice walk this morning when it was still 50-something (like me LOL).  Headed to Milwaukee this afternoon for a Brewers game.  Bunch of will meet at a Park & Ride then load into one vehicle as parking is $10 per car at the stadium.  Tailgating and baseball, how fun is that!  Really wanted to go next Sat for BobbleHank day but couldn't pull it off.

OncoW, I live in the SW corner of the state but work in Madison so that's a good meeting option for me.  So glad you got to meet IRL.  There's nothing like it. ♥

i believe that's, 'in real life" :) this is real life here on the threads, right? nobody better be pretending to have BC ( beware my constant sarcasm)

i love the Brewer's Stadium - though not a big sports fan - the tailgating sounds fun!

Lake Geneva is nice - lots of good eating places - always feels like i'm on vacation there

hi all, I just turned on my heat.  No stalwart here!

OncoW, there are LOTS of places in SW WI - Beetown, Darlington, Fennimore, Lancaster, Mineral Point, and Rewey just to name a few places I don't live LOL.  For privacy, I don't give my hometown on the board as it's open to the WWW.

Brewers game was fun even tho they lost.  Nothing like the crack of the bat and the roar of the crowd.  Also you don't get to watch the racing sausages on TV.

Hope this finds everyone well and warm! ♥

I hit the heat last night as well - froze all day at work i think the A/C was still on - DH came home, laughed at me & brought me a blanket :) cold is cold, right?

I am finally starting to embrace the idea of Fall coming, tho I see it was 90 in Bonita & i'd rather be there, I have always loved the changing seasons. Let's not go right into winter tho PLEASE

Glad you got together! That's fun to do.

Been busy but my phone is giving me fits so not posting much.

My DH and kids treated me to a celebration at Highland House in Mequon for 60th. Fun! I'm the short one! LOL

Beethoven is always inspiring. Unique how they started with the low strings (bass, cello) and added on. Makes me want to go practice!

Connecticut, but spent most of my life in Rhode Island . I do get back every now and then and I can't wait til hubby retires so I can go home permanently! Was home last year for a few days to see family at the start of this journey. Never heard of it, but I am delighted to make a new friend from my home state. Most of my family is the Superior area.

So mommy, being from Superior, do you have any Finnish roots? We always went for a summer visit to my aunts & uncles. Look for my PM.
