Michelle - if it's still red/warm when you get to the hospital tomorrow, tell the nurse right away. Good luck, hope it's nothing.

Good luck Michelle. I hope it is nothing and that you can go ahead with your surgery!

Oh Michelle...hoping the redness and warmth is gone before morning. I will be thinking of you!

God forbid I have an infection again, what happens? I can't have the other surgery? Or maybe tomorrow I'll be having a different kind all together? I'm seriously freaking out. I dont want to go through this again.

Sent you a PM.

mrochon-hang in there- praying it is nothing.

Mrochon...hoping all turns out well. Let us know when you feel better.

Mrochon: Sending you calming thoughts, I too hope the redness is nothing, but certainly mention as soon as you hit the hospital tomorrow, please keep us posted. I hate that you have to have all this worry before your surgery!
Ladies recovering: Sending healing vibes your way!
Protein tip: Greek yogurt has a ton of protein and is a greaqt quick snack.
Have had family in town so haven't been on the boards. I updated the surgery schedule; if I missed you, please let me know!
I too had an Oncotype score of 16 so my MO said no chemo, benefits did not outweigh risks.
Tomorrow is my 1-year BMX "surgiversary" Thank God we can't see into the future. I would have been seriously depressed if I'd known I'd still be healing and waiting to start fills a whole year later!

Shout out to mrochon: hope all is well. Sending good thoughts.
I am just about 1 year PFC now--thought I would be done by now as well. I feel very blessed to have a PS that I trust. I know I will be lopsided for a long time to come, but it's all good. I'll get there eventually.
Ren, I eat a lot of Greek yogurt--great stuff!

Michelle - I hope everything is going okay, please let us all know.
Shore1 - I have no idea if it can cause rib damage, but I sure felt like I had rib damamge after my BMX+TE... the pain lasted for quite a while, and looking back, I think it was because I was filled with 350cc in the OR which created a ton of pressure on my ribs. I posted all over this site hoping for relief or an answer... time has certainly helped. My ribs are no longer sore! Hope you feel better soon. Please let us know if you find anything out.
Also, second day on Tamox and I really have nothing to report, which is GREAT! I hope this continues...
SpecialK- lol... regarding your pill box! So funny, because, just yesterday I set up my pill box, and was thinking I needed to get one with an am/pm side too! So great to have a morning laugh with you:)

Hi all - just ate some greek yogurt with local strawberries! It was awesome!
DM - Yes, the pillbox is making me feel old!!! It is funny, I have a little pill dysphagia, trouble swallowing the larger ones, so I switched to chewable gummy calcium. They are like candy, and I am sure they have more sugar than I should have, but it is the best way for me to get the calcium I need. So every night when I am taking this handful of stuff I save those until last like "dessert" - it is ridiculous! Glad you are not having any SE with the Tamoxifen - hope it stays that way.

Recovering from surgery. Gotta say, it's been a piece of cake so far. I did get a drain which is a royal pain. Hoping it won't last long. I'm also totally uneven at this point. I've got an event tomorrow night which requires me to wear a dress. It's going to be interested with the drain and the asymetrical chest. Oh well. Any suggestions other than a very large sweater?
Good thoughts to the rest of you and thanks for your support.

Well I'm filled to capacity! It seems like the right TE is sitting higher, but the PS said it should settle. Still going in Monday to overfill them both slightly and then we "settle" for 3 months. Happy Friday!!

Marcyk, wear a pretty shawl, keep you warm and cover too
Momof3- Yay for last fill. Hope you get squishes in three months
Special K and DM - my visiting nurse (with the antibiotic iV's) just gave me a pill box- I havent opened it, it does make me feel old and I just couldn't face it- It has daily with 4 openings for am, pm, and inbetween. *sigh* LOL- Guess I should fill it up to keep it straight.
shore- I felt like my ribs were broken with the TE's for the first 3-4 weeks, after that, it got better real fast. Hope the same for you.
Mrochon- here's hoping all went well.
If I missed answering you, sorry- but I am praying for everyone on these boards. Any ideas on swiming? I can't walk very much with my stupid knees, and with my uneveness, do I get two different size implants for the suit? Just wondering.

marcyk - I had to go to a dinner with my husband when I only had one TE - I wore a black (good for camoflauge) jersey dress that had a lot of draping accross the front. It had 3/4 sleeves and a high neck. I also wore sparkly earrings to divert attention.

Marcy - glad to hear you're feeling well. Too bad about the drain. Re you're event tomorrow night….do you really have to go? If not, you should stay home and cuddle up on the couch with some comfy PJs. If you really have to go, I agree that using a big scarf will help. Good luck.

Hope everyone is well. Any updates on Mrochan? Just stopped in and my heart sank when I read she was having redness issues.
Hugs to all,

I just stopped in to check on her, too.
Marcy, hope you found just the right thing to wear and that your drain is gone soon.
Hugs to all of you, I can't tell you how much it means to have you all to share this journey with me. I cleaned house all morning and took a three hour nap this afternoon! I'm getting everything ready for E-day.0 -
Hello ladies, im coming out of my anesthesia fog. Im feeling ok. Im so used to gaving drains after surgery. Now that i dont have one, I think I can move about and roll out of bed with no problem. Well...not quite. I am reminded everytime I sit up, stand...go to the bathroom...ZAP!
Yesterday I was a wreck, I was hesitant to tell the nurse about my chest. I finally did. She looked aangle the look on her face wasn't good. My OB came and he looked at it. He immediately called my PS. PS came lickety split. I'm crying at this point, ugh. PS had me flushed with antibiotics and he aspirated the expander in the or room. Then OB came in and did his thing. I took my bandages off my chest this morning. It's still pink but it's not red and not hot and the throbbing pain is gone. My PS called this morning to see how I was feeling. He said he thinks my skin was irritated from the fill and add to that i was running around and doing things around the house that I probably shouldnt have. Im to go in first thing Monday to have him check thjngs over. He put me on antibiotics 4xs a day for a week just to be sure. I do have strong zaps of pain in the right side but I think its from the gas that they put in my to blow me up moving up my chest wall.
I think tragedy has been averted. I gotta tell you after all the looks I was getting from the hospital staff regarding my chest and my OB calling my PS, I was scared. Thank you all for thinking of me. I've been in and out of it all day.
Marcy, sorry about the drain, but hopefully it won't be in long. I hope your recovery is uneventful. :-)0 -
mrochon - are you feeling the love from your fellow TE girls? Glad you hung on to the TE and all looks to be well - just rememeber to take it easy!

YAY Mrochon! So glad to hear you still have the TE too. Now rest up girlfriend!
Mich_M and MTnester: Your exchanges are soon! Lucky girls!
Marcy: How are you feeling after your social event?
Hope everyone else is having a nice weekend!

Yes I am :-)
I'm in bed and plan on it for the next couple of days. My daughter and her boyfriend bringing me food and hot tea. I'm not fighting it at all. I do not want to aggravate the TE. I learned my lesson yesterday!0 -
So glad you are doing well! Take care of that foobie.

Great news after such a scare, mrochon!
Glad to see so many making progress.

Michelle- so glad it worked out; keep on resting.

I imagine that wass quite a scare Friday. Here's hoping you have a good report from the PS tomorrow!!

mrochon: so glad to hear things are on the mend. I don't know about the rest of you but I just want this all to be done already!
My event went well last night although I feel a bit like I was hit by a truck this morning. Perhaps I overdid it a bit. Hoping to get a little rest today although it's always difficult with little kids around. The drain is a big pain and it's putting out a ton of fluid (over 100 last night). I feel like I'm right back where I was after my BMX. It's going to be a very long week before I see my PS on Friday.

Glad to hear from you, Mrochonand very glad you still have the TE! Hope you are able to get good rest.
Marcy, your draining a lot probably from being really active. Wish I lived close, I'd take your kids for a while! I hope you get rest, too.0
